This postal place kicks the USPS's arse! They are so helpful and friendly! Once, I lost an address and remembered I shipped to there from this location once-I called, they had it on file and saved the day. Once, I had forgotten to send an important document to my SF office and needed to get it there ASAP. They checked prices across the board... and then actually sent me to the Post Office because it would get there in the same time but would be cheaper. They put my needs above their sales-solidifying my patronage forever. Yesterday, I suspected I had over weight Halloween cards to send to my nephews and niece and they weighed them all to make sure they wouldn't get returned. They did exact postage for me! 5 stars for packages and post! They also still have a fax machine if you and your contacts are in the stone age and your carrier pigeon is broken. If you need an official signature spotter, they also have notery services onsite, a little gift shops and supplies. read more

Used this store for six years with satisfaction, but this year I shipped four boxes for a ski trip and the manager disregarded my explicit shipping instructions. The boxes thus arrived in a piecemeal fashion and considerably late, and one arrived after we returned from vacation--even though we shipped the boxes of clothes and ski equipment 7 days before the vacation. The on-site manager stopped answering my inquiries searching for solutions to obtain the gear, as the boxes sat in one warehouse after another. He was no help and became indifferent. He walked away. Having grown up in Carmel Valley living here for almost three decades as I get older I need to do more adulting stuff and this PostalAnnex location is hands down my default. There's a few options around Carmel Valley/Del Mar/ La Jolla for shipments, notary and passport services but I would gladly drive a few more minutes and pay a few more $'s (instead of going online or directly to shipper) so I'm confident that whatever I'm receiving is done correctly and efficiently. They're always busy but they're well oiled so you never have to wait long. The service is top notch. I hope this management stays forever. read more

I needed to bring notary to my doctor's office to get notarization of my medical form so I contacted this store and met Kirk ( he is a store owner and notary too ) due to my lack of information about the paper that I should get notarized , Kirk had to go doctor's office twice with me. but he took care of everything with smile and didn't charge extra. Don't use this postal annex! I very rarely post a review however I feel it is my responsibility to warn you. I called first to make sure they were able to do LiveScan fingerprinting for me to send electronically to an out of state employer. When I arrived, the staff were VERY unfriendly, unprofessional and even unkind. They stated they will not perform the service out of the state of California. The tech was outwardly annoyed and disgusted when I simply asked why. They offered no advise or information and became even MORE annoyed when I asked if they had a recommendation for me to get this done. All of this was happening in front of the other customers and it was quite a demeaning experience. Shame on Valley Center PostalAnnex for their poor and abominable customer service. I wouldn't even recommend them to use for purchasing a stamp! read more

When I went to return $25 worth product that I purchased, I was told that she only can refund $23, instead of $25, for debit card swapping fee. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, she said that it was my choice because I was returning the product. I was unhappy and told her that I would still want to get the refund even I loose $2 and that I would not come back to this store to shop again. She said that she would be fine that I do not go back to shop there again. What kind of customer services?? She preferred to keep a couple of dollars and loose a customer. read more

While my experience shipping a package via FedEx was horrible at best, the package reached the east coast and was then returned to San Diego due to damage. Upon visiting this postal annex location where the package was shipped from, Trung Tran, administrative supervisor, took time to explain the damage and advise me that he would personally handle the claim through FedEx. While I was more concerned with my son receiving the package in perfect condition than I was filing a claim for damage, Trung was extremely concerned about my feelings and totally thorough in filing the claim and keeping me updated on it's progress. The claim was filed and settled in less than a three week period thanks to the efforts of Trung Tran. I will certainly be doing all my shipping via this location knowing that Trung is truly concerned about customer satisfaction. read more

I have been a customer here for years now and continually get amazing service. They do everything here it seems...from all your shipping needs, photo copies, passport pics, notary etc. Everyone that works here is very efficient. I'm always in and out in no time! Steven however is exceptional! He does all my notary stuff for me and is just one cool guy all around. I did get passport photos done here once and were not accepted when I applied for a passport. The manager did however give me a refund. This was years ago so I imagine they have gotten a better camera since then. Great job here guys keep up the good work! read more

Although the location is very convenient, I have decided not to patronize this store any longer. They were selling some bottle stoppers and other items in the shape of scantily-clad women's torsos. I felt this was very sexist and inappropriate, especially given that I often bring my young daughter in with me. When I complained, I was told that "the owner likes that kind of thing, there have been multiple complaints, but he will not listen or change, so don't bother." So I have taken my business elsewhere.
