Ah....I always have this dilemma when going to the Potbelly's in Rockville. PARKING SUX. Every potbelly I used to go in the burbs of Chicago had lot parking but this one doesn't...gotta find street or go to the pay lot. This has deterred me quite a bit from going here often...... Anyways...Potbelly's is Potbelly's. I think it ranks near the top of the fast food chains. I love their Oreo shakes and I like the Wreck w/ hot peppers (gotta put it in to make the subs taste good). read more

I only come here because it is relatively cheap and fast (nothing bad, nothing special) and I don't feel like walking down to Subway to eat their yoga-mat bread. And the hot peppers are just the right amount of heat for quick and easy ingestion before going back to work. Also, this is far better than that factory of mediocrity, Jimmy John's. read more

The manager is just nasty. I love the food, but I had a bad experience here. I ordered a Mediterranean big and The Wreck. My bf also ordered an Oreo milkshake. I ordered a mixed berry shake. They for some reason combined the milkshakes into one, making an mixed berry Oreo shake gross, and charged me for one shake. The manager was very unprofessional. They messed up on the milkshake and the manager said he "will just drink it" and to charge me for the second shake to be made. Then I'd also have to wait longer for both milkshakes to get made. I told him I don't want the milkshakes anymore if I have to get charged for the second one and wait for two whole new ones while he gets to enjoy the one they messed up (Maybe he did it on purpose to get a free shake). On top of that, the nasty manager got in my face with an attitude saying "people always tryna get free food." Very unprofessional. Just give me a refund and don't make a big deal about it, I just don't want the shake anymore. They need better staff. Worst part about it probably is that once we left, my boyfriend got a $40 parking ticket. This location has horrible parking. Just not my night! I don't know why I wanted to spend on going out to eat. read more

I give Potbelly's five stars on the strength of their sugar cookies alone. I'm a huge fan of Snickerdoodle cookies and this one taste like a Snickerdoodle that fell from heaven. Beware this cookie is very sweet and you might have to chase it with milk or just eat half and save the other half for later. The shakes are very good. The sandwiches are pretty good. They have a decent selection of toppings which will make sandwich eaters happy. I make a point to drop into Potbelly's and get a cookie and/or shake any time I'm in the neighborhood. read more

I used to hate sandwiches because i grew up eating sandwiches for lunch EVERYDAY... but subway had brought a slight interest back into it, but POTBELLY's WOW.... My shop eats here all the time. The last two times we have ate there they messed up the boss' sandwich. I had to call and talk to a manager. She kindly apologized for the mistake and asked how she could make it up to us. I explained I couldn't leave the shop again to go and pick anything up, so she came out to the shop and delivered the proper sandwich and 4 milkshakes thy were on the house. I am extremely disappointed. I placed and order for delivery around 1:20 pm, and the order said it would arrive by 2:30 pm. I waited an hour and my food was late and the entire order was wrong. My family ordered 4 sandwiches, and not one of them came out right. Every time I order from this potbelly I order the exact same sandwich, and they always toppings I did not add to my order. We also ordered bigs, not regulars. But they gave us regulars instead. Very upset and will not be ordering from here anymore. read more

This potbelly location is right next to the theaters so you can grab a bite to eat before or after your movie. It is a really large store so plenty of seating and has some outdoor seating as well. The night I went in I heard the sand which maker say it was his first day so I would expect a little longer to make the sand which but it was over 10 minutes with one person in front of me before we got our sandwich's. It should have been no more than 2 minutes. I don't blame the new guy I blame the management for putting a new guy there with no help as other employees stood around. The sandwich was tasty I go with the Italian so no complaints there. read more

I ordered the new Cuban sandwich/sub here. It was very delicious! The meat was so tender, probably the best Cuban I have ever had. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow. It took 20 minutes just for the woman to make our sandwiches...she made one at a time, taking about 5 minutes for each. It was honestly extremely strange, and the two other people working just stared at her. If it weren't for the sketchy service, I would have given this 5 stars. Will definitely try this place again at a different time. Maybe she wasn't fully awake on a Saturday afternoon...? Either way, definitely come here for the food! I would suggest ordering online to-go so you can pick it up by the door. That is most likely what I will do next time. read more

Went to my barber next door and he had a 30 minute wait so I decided to grab something to eat. Looked around and I had to choose between Asian, pizza, or Potbelly Sandwich Shop. Potbelly seemed like the lightest and I wasn't in the mood for a super heavy meal. Although I've seen Potbelly's all over DMV I had never actually eaten at one until today. The restaurant was clean, zero line at noon, and pretty good selection of sandwiches, wraps, salads, and unique menu items like "craft your own Mac and cheese". They cater to vegan and gluten free diets. I have zero dietary restrictions so I got an regular size Italian sub with lettuce, tomatoes, hot peppers, and Italian seasoning. I didn't ask if it was a hot or cold sub and to my pleasant surprise it was baked. A hot Italian sub is good if done right. Vegetable were fresh, quality and flavor of meat/bread was decent. Average selection of chips. Mostly carry Zappos brand from New Orleans. 3 stars to me means it was ok but it's not something I would crave. I would eat it if it were convenient or if I was with a group who wanted to grab something fast. Customer service was fine. Standard run of the mill corporate sandwich shop in my opinion. I've heard people rave about it but nothing stood out as special to me. read more

HOT PEPPERS!!! I want everything I eat here to be covered in their HOT PEPPERS! I don't eat a lot of meat, specifically only seafood. I always get the exact same thing: Original tuna salad on wheat with no cheese. They offer lots of toppings like mayo,mustard, oil, peppers, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, seasoning. I get everything except mayo. and it's basically the most perfect and amazing sandwich I've ever had EVERY TIME. The prices can't be beat. My sandwich always comes out to less than $5! This review is for takeout. I've been working in Rockville Town Square for six years and have eaten at Potbelly sometimes multiple times in a week. The service and staff are usually pretty friendly, and I love the hot peppers. Anyway, I did something today which I don't usually do, in that I ordered a couple of salads and a sandwich online. I liked the online system, because you can basically describe everything you want and pick it up when it's ready. I was busy at work and wanted delivery, but it was going to take an hour, so pickup was fine. I ordered two salads with hot peppers, two bags of chips and a sandwich. At pickup time, I drove over to Potbelly, parked in the lot, picked up my order, validated my parking, and left. Everything seemed fine, until I got back to my office and began handing out the food. No sandwich. I was annoyed, but also felt a little silly for never checking the bag. I grumbled and dialed Potbelly. The guy who answered was really nice, but said there was no way they could drop off the sandwich, as their delivery people were too busy. I'd have to come back and get it, but they would refund it. I was kind of annoyed, but really, this was the best they could do under the circumstances, right? My busy day had turned into two trips to Potbelly. I recruited my hungry co-worker to drive me over there (to avoid paying the $1.50 for parking again...and she was motivated by hunger), got my money back and got the sandwich. And, the guy who handled my order apologized again. He even gave me a cookie. All was well with the world, until I got back, and neither of the salads had hot peppers. I looked at the order, and both the receipt and the labels on the salads said "add hot peppers." As mentioned previously, I love the hot peppers, so now my salad was just meh. I had definitely earned that free cookie! Maybe I should be hit with a stupid stick for not checking my order, and it's worth pointing out that Potbelly staff members were really friendly from beginning to end. I am new to the region and did not know this was a chain. After ordering and eating, it feels like an expensive Subway with better decor. I should have picked up the coming experience when I was moved down the line past the small bags of chips. I ordered a Philly cheese. I was expecting to hear the sizzle of the grill as they cooked up some thinly sliced beef and veggies. Instead it was a pre-done mix. Nothing spectacular. It was very much edible, and if someone had given me a free one, I would be stoked. I paid $13.78 for a "big" sandwich, 1.5oz bag of chips and a beverage. That was a far from big sandwich, super thin and the final 4 bites were bread and cheese. Friendly staff, clean place, but that is it. Expensive let down, lesson learned. Unfortunately, not a good experience my last few visits. I work steps away from here so it makes for a quick & easy lunch. I usually order the TKY skinny, but I went to the counter and realized I was charged for the Turkey club. The manager mentioned just ask for him next time and he'll deduct the difference. I have been going to this location for years and working around the corner, my company often orders lunch deliveries. Unfortunately, my last visit did not go well and the acting manager was rude and unprofessional. I decided to reach out to the manager as he cannot be present 24/7. He responded to my email asking for more information on the incident so he can start making things right with me. After I responded with what occurred, I never heard back. Very unfortunate that I will not be visiting this location nor ordering lunches for the company. So first when we went there, they were supposed to make us vegetable sandwiches but they put meat in them. So we returned it and they offered to give us free sandwiches for the next time. But today when we went, they made the worst sandwich I have ever had. The bread was dry, the sandwich was dry and they didn't even add any of the condiments that I asked for. The sandwich maker and cashier were both RUDE and had no respect. But what really caught me off guard was the rude manager.. her name was something like "Chloe" I believe, or something close to it. But I have never come across such a RUDE and INCONSIDERATE manager ever in my whole life of dining experiences. Not only was the bread burnt but she didn't even give me a bag when I asked for one (the sandwiches were barely wrapped..and it was horrible, they kept opening and falling everywhere). Potbelly's is like Subway, with an American flag on the wall and all the yellow colors changed to brown. It's also a little cheaper, and at this one in MD it lists all the nutritional facts on the menu for all us kids with dainty figures. The sandwiches though, are NOTHING like Subway. All I have to say is I got the Wreck with the spicy peppers that were JUST spicy enough and at around $5 bucks was so ...unexpectedly...delicious. Decent selection of sandwiches. I would recommend A Wreck, Italian, Meatball, and Roast Beef. Shakes are also worth it. Only wish the sandwiches were bigger and not as oily. I ordered a wreck today with hot peppers, lettuce, and tomato and for whatever reason there was something still so oily it went through the wax paper. Great sandwiches! My fiancé and I have eaten at Potbelly's a number of times. During our most recent visit, we carried out sandwiches for my parents and brother, who were surprised at how well they held up when we got home and were just as tasty as if they'd eaten it in the shop. I've been a here a few times out of convenience and have generally been disappointed. The Italian was good but the smoked ham was way too smoky (I guess I should have taken the description seriously) and the chicken and cheddar was pretty flavorless. I also tried a salad (which only one person there knew how to make) and it was bad (greens were ok, way too much artichoke, vinaigrette was gross).
