Buche de Noel - Tiramisu. OMG this was so good! Also.a nice size. Easily nine generous slices! It is suppose to serve six (small size). Beautiful to serve and so delicious to eat! I will never buy a Buche de Noel (Yule Log) anywhere else! Buche de Noel traditionally are rolled cakes and difficult to make. Many are made as a cake ysing a tube for the pan (not rolled). This one is the traditional rolled one! Rolled perfectly! The top was decorated with a Cappuccino straw and chocolate covered espresso beans! Can wait for our next Poulxs creation!

The cake I ordered was amazing! It was too large for my wife and I so she shared the remaining with her colleagues. They loved it, finished it asking for more! The shop itself is quite aesthetic, with tables that have vibrant pink bench seats, perfect for a photo op. Just for context, my wife and I had our wedding in Italy so of course the millefoglie was our wedding cake. To celebrate our first wedding anniversary, I was looking for any Italian bakeries in the OC area that would make this but in a small size. Poul's bakery seemed like the only one and I am so glad I reached out to them. Ayliz, the owner, is super easy to work with and took my order with no problems. If you check out their instagram, @poulsbakeryoc, you will see their impressive 40+ inches millefoglie and of course all their other tasty treats. I highly recommend this place for the food and the vibes!

The best Princess cake I've ever tried. Very moist and not too sweet. The homemade marzipan is so fresh and delicate in taste. This is the Mother's Day cake everybody loved. Very easy to order with friendly staff. Can't wait to try more cake as this one was delicious.

Cute & somewhat romantic place and was recommended by a fellow yelpie. Their website states that they're open from 9am and they have a list of specialty cake to choice from. When I got there at 9:10am, in an industrial areal and parking is quite limited. They do have a patio which they transformed into a romantic sidewalk or patio seating area with an arch entrance. They're open BUT met the owner (lovely once you talked to her that is), and was informed that you have to call in to order the cake (A MUST) and some of the cakes that listed on line (they have NOT UPDATED THEIR WEBSITE for awhile, and I don't think they will). are no longer available and the store is open for pick up only - yup, and mine was one of them, the "carrot cake", which was a huge disappointment BUT since I heard about this place so I placed another one in person plus the cannolis...which is VERY deliciously good, perfectly tasty filling and topping, yum! They shop, per the owner is in transforming into a teatime experience place but at the present time, not yet. They don't have anything available or any display, all are make to order therefore, remember a must CALL AHEAD and see what availability. Mine was able to pick up in 2 hrs, since she asked for how many serving and recommended the size, and all the details in the cake. Is it cheap or reasonable pricing? I got a small cake & 6 cannolis for a total of $67. I would say it's on the high end side BUT WORTH IT. The cake was simply delicious and she makes the filling jam double plus it perfectly sweet, the cake is soft and tasty and it reminded me of the cake I had in Europe. All I can say is YUMMY!

Sorry couldn't take the photo fast enough. The tiramisus was so delicious...and gets the highest compliment any Asian person can give. "It's really good...not too sweet!!" Poul's Bakery is my go to bakery...any time I need sweets I know that they will have something amazing for me to enjoy. Highly recommended.

This place is definitely a MUST try! I ordered a Princess cake for my birthday and it seriously was THE best cake I have ever had! The outer shell is made of marzipan (almond paste) which has similar consistency as fondant, but has an almond like aftertaste which was amazing. The inside is a soft and spongy white cake with a layer of raspberry filling (which had no artificial taste at all) and a layer of vanilla. I can't stress enough how GOOD this cake was. I had to get one for my coworker's birthday as well. The whole office loved the cake and we definitely will purchase from Poul's bakery again.

Recommend to pre-order. I did a walk-in just to check it out while I was had an appointment in the area! Luckily, there was some cookies and cannolis for purchase and made to order. Cannolis were AMAZING! This is one of my favorite pastries that is not easy to find and that is good and fresh! A Must try!

Amazing Cannoli Cake! I drove two hours round trip in the rain to pick up this cake and it did not disappoint. Two cakes and two pies at Christmas dinner, and the cannoli cake was devoured. The pies were untouched and the other cake had 1-2 pieces eaten. Cannoli Cake for the win!

I have been coming to this bakery ever since I was a young kid, and it is still my favorite. Poul's is a staple in the OC area and makes delicious pastries. My faves are their Swedish Princess Cake, their Angel Cookies, and their King cake. We just ordered a King cake, and it was warm, flaky, with a rich almond paste, and so rich and tasty. The service here is always great, and they are super responsive. This bakery operates more with pre-order and then pick-up, which I like because everything is always fresh. Their store is super cute inside. Poul's will always be my go to for decadent desserts!

I stumbled across this page on yelp as I was in search of some dessert to bring to a dinner party and let me tell you, Poul's Bakery did not disappoint! The employees helped me decide on just what I needed. I went with a dozen of the mini cannolis and they are piped to order, so it's guaranteed fresh! Not only did the cannolis taste AMAZING, they made sure they looked amazing and replaced one in the box that did not turn out how they wanted to. I even bought some Italian cookies and pastries for myself and you can tell everything here is made with love. My new favorite bakery in OC. I'll be back to try their cannoli cake! Highly recommend if you're looking a place to cater desserts for you, or even for treats for yourself. Place your order ahead of time if you are in a rush (since the cannolis are piped fresh).

Recently ordered a birthday cake from here and it was phenomenal. Amazing customer service and the cake turned out just how I had customized. Will be ordering every birthday cake etc from this bakery! Also I am a big fan of marble cake (chocolate and vanilla cake ) so the owner Ayliz had gave us the option to do a Tuxedo cake instead one layer vanilla one layer chocolate and when it came time to slice it looked so beautiful I highly recommend tuxedo method if you're a sucker for both flavors! read more

We were greeted by the employees the second we walked in and had the best experience!! We came in for the cannolis sign and I'm so glad!! We went with cannolis stuffed with chocolate chip cream and various toppings! They make everything fresh for you when you come in and I love that. Great desserts. Ice cream cookie sandwich and the angel cookie were really good. But the best thing we had was the cannoli with chocolate chips and chocolate shavings. Definitely one of the best cannolis made mascarpone with ricotta. Coming back here for sure. read more

Recently I called the Poul's to create a special cake for my husbands birthday. I must say it came out extremely nice. The cake had an amazing photo real topping alejar I supplied to her to replicate. The image was so clear and crisp. I went for her classic carrot cake. What was unique about the cake was it was nice and dense and not overly sweet. The texture of the filling really stood out. We even kept a few slices for that following morning to have it with our coffee and it still held shape and flavor. I love how she was very helpful and easy to communicate. The price was extremely fair and she made everything within a week! read more

After eating a delicious cannoli from a recent trip to New York, I was in pursuit of locating a place in Southern CA that would satisfy my sweet craving. I stumbled across Poul's Bakery while searching online and made a call to inquire further. The owner, Ayliz, was incredibly wonderful and addressed every question I asked. I was able to place a order for ten cannolis and made the 20 min drive to pick up the order. My family and I definitely enjoyed these freshly made cannolis, and it was quite a pleasant experience from customer service and satisfaction to enjoyment! We will definitely be returning for more! Worst princess cake ever. Dried out marzipan, but the worst offense was they don't even use actual whipped cream! The horror!!! The artificial flavor is still haunting me the next day. $40 for a trash cake that we literally threw in the trash. Far, but if you want to taste a true princess cake, head to Copenhagen Pastry in Los Angeles. AVOID! read more

What a gem! I was looking for a place that sold cakes and I walked into the right place! I was greeted by the owner who was super friendly and helpful. I told her what I was looking for and she gave me options to choose from. She recommended the Princess Cake (A Swedish style cake that was made for princesses) and I'm so happy she did - so is my wife! I don't ever write reviews but today I needed to find a bakery that sold birthday cakes last minute and called Ayliz the owner to ask for recommendations and she said that their Swedish Princess Cake is the best. This is my first time buying from them and the cake is sooo delicious and did not disappoint! Covid has hit Poul's really hard I believe because they lost their storefront and are running on requests of existing customers. I ordered the cake at 10am and wanted to pick it up at 6pm. When I picked it up, she was already there waiting at the pick up location and I felt so bad. My heart goes out to all businesses that suffered from this pandemic. I called in to order a cake for my little one about two weeks ago and Ayliz made the process go very well over the phone. I sent her a picture of the cake I wanted and we discussed over the details of the cake. She also recommended the bavarian cream filling over the vanilla whip cream. I trusted her recommendation anñd went with the bavarian cream filling. On the day we received our cake everyone was pleased with the cake work and my little girl was very happy to see it. The cake was very delicious and everyone really enjoyed it. Highly recommended this bakery for custom cakes and Ayliz made the phone call order a breeze during these troubling times. Dropped by this place since it was next to 7 leaves. Ordered 2 crepes. It took the cook more than 30 minutes to make the crepes. I didn't want to say anything at the time since clearly she was trying. I felt like I had to leave a review though once I ate them since the crepes did not even taste like they were cooked. Sad part was a family ordered some crepes after me as I was leaving. This time an older lady (presumably the owner) was making them. She clearly had more experience. I noticed she turned up the heat on the crepe maker and those crepes looked delicious. I left before they were done but pretty sure she wouldn't take 30 minutes to make 2 crepes. read more

Beautiful cake, delicious cookies, and authentic crepes! I just found out that this bakery is right around the corner from my house and i couldn't be happier. I ordered a cake for my sister's baby shower from Ayliz (the owner) and was very happy with the way it turned out. It looked beautiful and tasted great! I would recommend Poul's to anyone that is looking for a custom cake or cookie or dessert order. They have açaí bowls that you can get unlimited toppings for the same price. First of all let me say I give them a 5++++ for there customer service!! Everyone was super nice and helpful!!! I ordered a cake from Poul's Bakery and they made me exactly what I wanted. The cake was also very moist and delicious and there crepes are also very amazingly delicious my kids favorite is there açaí bowls you get to pick exactly what you want in it and it's so refreshing especially in this hot days. Ayliz was great to work with when placing an order for my sister's birthday cake. She thoroughly explained the differences in dimensions and sizes for the cake I was looking for and what was needed for a party of our size. She even gave some great tips on how to decorate with flowers since we wanted to do so on our own. The cake was delivered to us on time and was perfect. Trying to find a bakery in the LA & OC area that makes Princess Cakes is so rare these days! I was so happy when I found Poul's Cafe! We ordered a 8 inch Princess Cake for my grandmother's 75th birthday and drove the cake all the way up to Northern California! Ayliz was so helpful and suggested we freeze the cake the prior night & that it would be totally fine to make the 7 hour journey! And it did :) It was so beautiful and my grandmother was SOOOO ecstatic over this cake! Now its my mom's birthday and I'm back for more Princess Cake! This place is Amazing!!! The people are so incredibly friendly the pastries so unbelievably delectable!!! It's just the best I can't describe it any other way!!! The staff is very knowledgeable for anyone who is unsure of what they want, to wth their recommendations you won't regret it!!!! The tiramisu is to dieeee forrrrr!!!!!! Not really too happy with the professionalism of this bakery. I called and let the lady know what I needed and wanted a week and two days ahead of time, this is not a crazy designed cake either (very basic). I sent photos like she requested and she told me she was going to get back to me and "not to worry" as I'm waiting here still for her text me back it's been a total of 5 days. I already booked another bakery and spent over $200 on another cake. Unprofessional, thank goodness I didn't do a wedding cake from this place I would be so stressed out. read more

Ordered the Swedish Princess cake for my daughter's birthday. Ayliz was so friendly on the phone and the preorder process was super simple. The day of pickup, Ayliz texted me that the cake was ready exactly on time and I picked it up in the store. Couldn't help getting some freshly piped cannoli while i was there. Everything tasted great. Established in 1955.

In 1955 Poul Johansen, an immigrant from Denmark, opened his first bakery in the City of Orange and it quickly became a landmark. Visiting Poul's Bakery became a weekly tradition for many families. Having our famous Swedish Princess Cake as a birthday cake year after year became a common occurrence. "You made my wedding cake 30 years ago!" or "My grandma used to bring me here when I was little" are stories we are still greeted with after all these years. Poul's is a place where clients are greeted by their names. Our baked goods carry so many memories for so many families and we are so grateful to have been part of so many celebrations, generation after generation.
