The cake I ordered was amazing! It was too large for my wife and I so she shared the remaining with her colleagues. They loved it, finished it asking for more! The shop itself is quite aesthetic, with tables that have vibrant pink bench seats, perfect for a photo op. Just for context, my wife and I had our wedding in Italy so of course the millefoglie was our wedding cake. To celebrate our first wedding anniversary, I was looking for any Italian bakeries in the OC area that would make this but in a small size. Poul's bakery seemed like the only one and I am so glad I reached out to them. Ayliz, the owner, is super easy to work with and took my order with no problems. If you check out their instagram, @poulsbakeryoc, you will see their impressive 40+ inches millefoglie and of course all their other tasty treats. I highly recommend this place for the food and the vibes!

Black Forest Cake & Mini Cannoli (the kids couldn't wait till the cake was cut before a taste of the whipped cream frosting!)

The best cannolis! I called to order a couple dozen mini cannolis for my dad's 70th and ended up ordering a Black Forest cake as well. Both the cannolis and the cake were a hit! Poul's has great communication and they responded to my inquiry dame day. They offered delivery for the day of the party. Great service and delicious desserts!

Sorry couldn't take the photo fast enough. The tiramisus was so delicious...and gets the highest compliment any Asian person can give. "It's really good...not too sweet!!" Poul's Bakery is my go to bakery...any time I need sweets I know that they will have something amazing for me to enjoy. Highly recommended.

Cute & somewhat romantic place and was recommended by a fellow yelpie. Their website states that they're open from 9am and they have a list of specialty cake to choice from. When I got there at 9:10am, in an industrial areal and parking is quite limited. They do have a patio which they transformed into a romantic sidewalk or patio seating area with an arch entrance. They're open BUT met the owner (lovely once you talked to her that is), and was informed that you have to call in to order the cake (A MUST) and some of the cakes that listed on line (they have NOT UPDATED THEIR WEBSITE for awhile, and I don't think they will). are no longer available and the store is open for pick up only - yup, and mine was one of them, the "carrot cake", which was a huge disappointment BUT since I heard about this place so I placed another one in person plus the cannolis...which is VERY deliciously good, perfectly tasty filling and topping, yum! They shop, per the owner is in transforming into a teatime experience place but at the present time, not yet. They don't have anything available or any display, all are make to order therefore, remember a must CALL AHEAD and see what availability. Mine was able to pick up in 2 hrs, since she asked for how many serving and recommended the size, and all the details in the cake. Is it cheap or reasonable pricing? I got a small cake & 6 cannolis for a total of $67. I would say it's on the high end side BUT WORTH IT. The cake was simply delicious and she makes the filling jam double plus it perfectly sweet, the cake is soft and tasty and it reminded me of the cake I had in Europe. All I can say is YUMMY!

The best Princess cake I've ever tried. Very moist and not too sweet. The homemade marzipan is so fresh and delicate in taste. This is the Mother's Day cake everybody loved. Very easy to order with friendly staff. Can't wait to try more cake as this one was delicious.

This place is definitely a MUST try! I ordered a Princess cake for my birthday and it seriously was THE best cake I have ever had! The outer shell is made of marzipan (almond paste) which has similar consistency as fondant, but has an almond like aftertaste which was amazing. The inside is a soft and spongy white cake with a layer of raspberry filling (which had no artificial taste at all) and a layer of vanilla. I can't stress enough how GOOD this cake was. I had to get one for my coworker's birthday as well. The whole office loved the cake and we definitely will purchase from Poul's bakery again.

Recommend to pre-order. I did a walk-in just to check it out while I was had an appointment in the area! Luckily, there was some cookies and cannolis for purchase and made to order. Cannolis were AMAZING! This is one of my favorite pastries that is not easy to find and that is good and fresh! A Must try!

    Cannoli Cake.

Amazing Cannoli Cake! I drove two hours round trip in the rain to pick up this cake and it did not disappoint. Two cakes and two pies at Christmas dinner, and the cannoli cake was devoured. The pies were untouched and the other cake had 1-2 pieces eaten. Cannoli Cake for the win!

Pouls very kindly made me a custom "deconstructed" croquembouche to fly with and assemble for our 25th wedding anniversary... it worked out great, looked lovely and tastes delicious. Thanks so much. Photo attached (my assembly a little precarious but it did the trick)

Mini Cannolis - topped with chocolate sprinkles, white chocolate, chocolate, and almonds.

I stumbled across this page on yelp as I was in search of some dessert to bring to a dinner party and let me tell you, Poul's Bakery did not disappoint! The employees helped me decide on just what I needed. I went with a dozen of the mini cannolis and they are piped to order, so it's guaranteed fresh! Not only did the cannolis taste AMAZING, they made sure they looked amazing and replaced one in the box that did not turn out how they wanted to. I even bought some Italian cookies and pastries for myself and you can tell everything here is made with love. My new favorite bakery in OC. I'll be back to try their cannoli cake! Highly recommend if you're looking a place to cater desserts for you, or even for treats for yourself. Place your order ahead of time if you are in a rush (since the cannolis are piped fresh).

Kings Cake - Galette des Rois

I have been coming to this bakery ever since I was a young kid, and it is still my favorite. Poul's is a staple in the OC area and makes delicious pastries. My faves are their Swedish Princess Cake, their Angel Cookies, and their King cake. We just ordered a King cake, and it was warm, flaky, with a rich almond paste, and so rich and tasty. The service here is always great, and they are super responsive. This bakery operates more with pre-order and then pick-up, which I like because everything is always fresh. Their store is super cute inside. Poul's will always be my go to for decadent desserts!

The Wedding Cake of our Dreams! Poul's Bakery made our wedding cake dreams come true! I had my heart set on a traditional Italian Millefoglie, but after reaching out to countless bakeries, Ayliz, the owner of Pouls, was the only one willing to take on the challenge. Not only did they execute it flawlessly, but they also built the cake onsite in front of all our guests--an unforgettable experience! The Millefoglie was beyond perfect--delicate, crispy layers, luscious cream, fresh fruit and the most incredible flavor. I've received an overwhelming number of compliments, and I owe it all to the talented team at Pouls. They listened to exactly what I wanted, never said no, and made the entire process an absolute dream. If you're looking for a bakery that is skilled, dedicated, and truly passionate about their craft, Pouls is it!. They made my wedding day even more special with the most beautiful, delicious cake, and I couldn't be more grateful!

Are you in a storefront again or baking somewhere else?

Hi we are in Costa Mesa, 2950 Grace Lane. You can place your order through our website www.Pouls-Bakery.com or call the bakery at (714)532-5101

Could you make a big tiramisu wedding cake?

Hi yes we can as long as it is a single tier, due to the fact that tiramisu is very wet and soft dessert made with coffee soaked lady fingers.

Do you still make the peach (and cream?) breads you made at the Orange location for years?

We do not offer bread at this moment. We might bring back couple of our breads back in the future.

They aren't located in Tustin, it been replaced by Keto Candy Girl. Did they move? Are they still open?

Hello we are still in Tustin without a storefont but offer pick up and delivery, just call (714)532-5201 to place your order. Thank you!

Are the petite fours always available? Or do we have to place an order for them?

Hello, you will need to pre-order them.

Do you have the princess cake daily?

Hello, to place your order for Swedish princess cake please call (714)532-5201.

    Do you have eclairs?

Sorry not at this time. If you want some cannolis we can make a box.

When we ordered the cinnamon roll, there was no option to heat it up, so we thought they would have done it already. When it was served, it was rock solid. So, we asked them to heat it up. However, after a few minutes, it still wasn't that gooey and the inner core was still pretty tough. Perhaps they could have warmed it up so that it was evenly softened. Overall, the cinnamon roll was alright. It was a brioche roll so you would think it might be lighter and fluffy, but ours was pretty dry. However, the cream on top was insanely good. It carried the roll. The hazelnut twist was kind of what you would expect. A twisted pastry but with a hefty amount of hazelnut-chocolate spread thru the layers. We sat in a little nook, where there was a magnetic black board, where there were word tiles you could rearrange in any way. It was a nice place to just look around at all the sentences the community wrote. Chess tables were also available as extra seating. Overall, the service was good, but could be better when warming up pastries, so that the customer can enjoy them properly!

Sadly, the jasmine tea cheesecake was one of the worst desserts we've had. It tasted so unpleasant that we ended up throwing away what you see in the photo because we simply couldn't take another bite. The checkout experience was also a little unusual. The cashier told us the credit card machine wasn't working, so the only payment options were cash or sending a Zelle payment directly to the owner. There was a small handwritten sticky note with an individual's name and phone number for the Zelle payment, which felt a bit odd. To be fair, there wasn't a large selection available when we visited, so it's possible they have other pastries or desserts that are much better than what we tried. However, based on our experience, the item we purchased was disappointing, and the $12 definitely didn't feel well spent. On the positive side, the décor and overall aesthetic were lovely and were probably the bakery's strongest feature. I've been shopping at this location for about a year and have been a customer of Northgate Markets for several years. Unfortunately, my experiences at this location have become increasingly disappointing. I've encountered raw chicken left on the shelf two or more days past its expiration date, fresh fruit and salsa still being sold after their use-by dates, and produce that was visibly rotten and infested with bugs. These aren't minor issues when it comes to a grocery store--they're basic food-safety and quality concerns. And then there's the customer service. Today, there wasn't a friendly employee in sight, and the customers weren't much better. I'd especially like to thank the grumpy woman on the scooter who apparently tried to run me down three separate times. I assume you were having a bad day, but judging by the atmosphere in this store, it seems like everyone is having a bad day, every day. No one smiles. No one acknowledges customers. No one seems remotely interested in providing even basic courtesy. I understand that people have bad days--I really do--but when the entire experience consistently feels cold, hostile, and unwelcoming, it becomes a pattern rather than an isolated bad day. The cashier couldn't be bothered to say hello back or even make the slightest attempt at being friendly, and the young man bagging my groceries was just as dismissive. I've spent years shopping with Northgate Markets, which makes this especially disappointing. Customers shouldn't walk into a store and feel like they're an inconvenience for simply being there. Today was the final straw for me. There are plenty of other places willing to take my money while treating me--and other customers--with basic courtesy and respect.

Service was fast for the doughnut and my coffee, but they seemed to forget about my husband's cold brew, so I had to ask about it after a few minutes of waiting. Not a big deal, just was surprised it took so long when it was such an easy order! We both enjoyed the buttery/salty doughnut, and my coffee was delightful! However, my husband said the cold brew was just okay and it was packed with ice to the point you couldn't stick the straw in the lid. Overall, our first experience at this location was good, and we'll definitely be back to try more of Sidecar's delicious doughnuts! Might pass on the cold brew though!
