1. For a somewhat urgent water leak (and two other simple tasks), I would have liked to get the plumber there sooner than EIGHT DAYS OUT. My tenant accepted the appt, however. 2. I did not expect a price quote by phone, nor did I get one. But when the tech went to the jobsite, he called me right away and gave me "bundled" estimates for the three things needing work: $385, $407, and $450. I balked, and he explained that these are pre-set prices which include as much labor and as many parts might be needed. He was also trying to include a "membership" subscription, which I declined. After all the weeks of water leaking, I just authorized him to do the work for $1,241. 3. I drove to the jobsite and received a call two hours later, while enroute, that he was done. I inspected the work and found all but one item finished. (The remaining item was a sloppy job by the last plumber, who is lost.) 4. I called the plumbing company office and asked for the paperwork, which she immediately emailed me so I could read what was done. The three "bundled" items were essentially prewritten, itemized features of what each of my tasks would include--including parts and labor. But under "Install Kitchen Faucet," the tech noted that I was supplying the faucet prior to his arrival. Oddly, that one task was still priced at $407. I asked that I might get a discount for the $200 Kohler faucet I provided. The office rep explained "all their work operations are bundle-priced to include parts and labor." When I asked again, she eventually gave me $125 discount for that. I ended up paying her $1,117. 5. All in all: I would gladly allow about $100 for the various small parts he installed (none of which are shown on the invoice), which is to say that the loaded labor rate (including overhead, etc) was $1,017 for the two hours the tech was onsite. IT JUST SEEMS EXCESSIVE. That and the fact that it took 8 days to get scheduled? Sorry, not my style. read more

100% bait and switch. Avoid at all costs. Called on Sunday to setup an appointment for a hydrojet. Specifically asked the rep on the phone what the service would cost, and was told $99. Tech arrived this morning and told me $800. Obviously, I told them to pound sand. As a point of reference, I've used LA Hydrojet on a few other occasions at other properties and I've never paid more than $200 - but they don't take appointments on Sunday. Heck, for good measure I've even include a photo of my last LA Hydro bill. $195 for jetting! The tech was perfectly polite but these guys are scammers and con artists. Avoid avoid avoid. read more

I am a Sr Facilities Manager and literally had worked all night because of work emergency otherwise would have fixed this myself. Had a main line clog, tech Joe Nevil came out and asked if I've ever had the lines jetted, I replied no I'd just like the line to be snaked. At that point he basically said he couldn't do it that he only had a 1/4 snake. No update maybe!! When I asked why they bothered sending him out, all he could say several times as he's walking back to his van was , have a nice day sir, if your plumbers are not equipped to handle a simple clog why bother. It literally took me a total of an hour to go to Home Depot, rent a snake, clear the clog maybe 30' in and return the snake. (One hour total). And then when I called to complain, operator was very apologetic, but I never received a follow up from his supervisor. Our Rheem water heater presented an error code that informed the chamber sensor failed. Our unit was still under the a warranty for parts from Rheem. When soliciting Power Pro's service I supplied error code, failure diagnosis, serial and model # asking them to arrange for the parts to handle in a single service call. Their technician (David Macias) made the service call at the property. He inspected the unit and advised that he could diagnose and return the unit to providing hot water for a charge of $189 and the next day he would come back, connect with Rheem and order the parts. I took exception to the effort he proposed for the diagnosis....as I already had it known and we already attempted 4-5 resets the manual provides. He said we were not plumbers. I asked for the option of the return the next day to connect with Rheem and order parts - mind you I already posted the David's company up on asking them to bring the requisite parts given the error code. He said a different technician would be dispatched for tomorrow. We did not hear from the shop the following day. We then took the action to contact Rheem direct gave them the error code, serial and model number and they shipped out the parts. I will be affecting the swap out myself as it is fairly straightforward for a DIYer. read more

I bought two faucets through Home Depot and made the mistake of purchasing installation with them. (I was super busy with work and stupidly thought I was saving the time of a phone call to one of my usual plumbers). After showing up, the guy first showed me a clipboard featuring a page of all the plumbing in a typical house and told me he would check it for me. (First red flag- that's the sort of thing companies looking for "problems" aka ways to make money on things you don't need, do. You need to be very careful with those sort of companies.) Then he told me the faucet had a different size hose than my lines and that all 4 valves would have to be replaced (2 faucets, each with hot and cold water). Each one would be $250, for a total of $1000 on top of the $400 I'd already spent. Now I do light plumbing maintenance myself and I'm far more handy in other types of home renovation work, so I knew there was undoubtedly a simple adapter and when I asked about it he said there was an adapter, but they didn't do that. A quick Google search showed the hose adapters at about $8-$20 each. When confronted, he talked to his manager and dropped the price to $150 per line, for a total of $600. My usual plumbers carry these sort of things in their truck or they'll go get them if they don't. (There's a Lowes 1.5 miles away). I cancelled the order, went to Home Depot and got the adapters ($7 each). WOMEN- DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE SWINDLE YOU OUT OF YOUR HARD-EARNED CASH. Regardless of the company, ask questions. If they quote you a large amount for a repair, know there is often a less-expensive way to accomplish the same thing. Often a quick internet search will get you closer to understanding your options. But in the case of Power Pro Plumbing Heating and Air, just don't. read more

Unfortunately, my experience with this company keeps getting worse and worse. Last week, I set up an appointment with this company for a quote on a sink installation. The appointment was scheduled for today between 3pm and 5pm. I realized today that I didn't receive a text reminder yesterday (as per my prior experiences). I called at 3pm and asked for clarification on when to expect a plumber. The lady I spoke with informed me that she had scheduled me for tomorrow, January 25th. I told her I was unavailable tomorrow. She reached out to her dispatch, but there were no more technicians available for today. The communication continues to be frustrating. Additionally, I continue to have sediment coming out of my bathtub and now kitchen sink. Their plumber suggested that upgrading the water heater and installing a power pump would make the issue go away. My trust was misplaced. It's apparent that their "solutions" are simply ways to get you to spend thousands of dollars without fixing a thing. Now I'm out over $5000 a day, I have to reach out to other companies for a solution, and meanwhile, I have to try to filter that water so I can bathe my baby. Prospective customer BEWARE. read more

I would not recommend them. On the plus side- they did come on a Sunday withing the time frame stated. Their system made it easy to set up the appointment online and their plumber was very nice! On the negative side- They charged way too much for their services! To be fair, I did expect to pay a bit more because it was same day service on a Sunday. l we needed was to replace our tank-less hot water heater one mounted on the outside of our home with easy access. We did our research so we knew the cost of the brand of tank-less heater that Power Pro would install prior to them coming to give us and estimate. They quoted us over $6000 for and easy install. That is more than $4000 for labor. We did not accept the quote and hired a private plumber who charges us for the new water heater, which we chose ourselves and $800 for an installation that took 30 minutes. The downside to that is we had to wait 2 more days to get it replaced. We feelt that was worth the extra $3500. read more

i had a BAD experience to this company sending a plumber to my rental property who had a wrong diagnosis and almost cost me $5,000. My tenant complained of clogged up toilet in the master bedroom and when they flushed it ,it goes to the shower room drainage of the other bathroom and the toilet bowl. "truly an emergency, and im desperate to be helped" called this company and send SEAN McGrortty who has 23 years expertise on this. I trusted the person and he did CAMERA to run up to the street and that was according to him. His final diagnosis is a clogged from our main pipe to the clay pipe of street and needs a clean out and excavation of the front garage cement. it will will cost estimated price $4,600,excluding City permit. it was a HUGE PROBLEM. i told him to send report but HE DID NOT SEND it ,instead a copy of estimated project cost. He said i might get another plumber who will do it. So I decided to get my own Plumber from my other contractor who is HONEST enough to run the CAMERA with me upto the main PIPE of the street, and i saw it myself that there is NO CLOGGED OR PIPE PROBLEM. They just saw a lot of hair and tissues on the the shower room drainage and cleaned it out. They just charge me $150. it was really a relief on my side. But if I took this wrong PLUMBER, it will cost me almost $5K and a citation to my City for excavation. You should be careful send people like this. Because it will cost your client a lot... My Mother-in-law called Power Pro Plumbing because her master bathroom shower drain needed to be cleared as it was backing up. Even with a coupon, she ended up with a $7,400 bill!!! When the plumber came to her home, he asked to look at her hot-water heater, as part of their "inspection". Although her hot-water heater was working fine and had nothing to do with the shower drain, he told her that the hot-water heater was not up to code and needed to be replaced. This caused her to be scared and confused. Then he continued looking through her home for other items that may need to be "fixed". This is the list of what they charged her for after their "inspection": Annual Power Cub Membership $150 Access trap $150 Premier tub/shower valve through dry wall installation $2,510 Drywall stucco Patch $500 Hydro Jet Main sewer up to 200' $145 (this was the only service she initially requested) Water heater and installation $3,600 There was a senior discount of $280, but that did not come close to off-setting the bill she received of $7,400!! This company used fear tactics to talk her into signing up for these products/services. She initially said she did not need a new hot-water heater, but when he told her it was not up to code, she did not realize she had the option to not replace it. Her hot-water heater was working fine at the time. The company has since offered for her bill to be reduced to $6,000. They said they stand by the work they did in her house (and the work is probably fine, but she did not need this amount of work done). This was unconscionable to find things to replace and then charge a widow with dementia, who is living on a small retirement and social security income. I called Power Pro Plumbing this morning to schedule an estimate for repiping and to remove some old galvanized pipe and replace with new ABS. The company called back right away and scheduled an appointment window from 12:00 to 3:00 PM Efrain Dominguez came out at 12:05 PM and immediately went to work underneath the crawl space to check out the plumbing. He even used a camera to see if the sewer pipes were clear or had roots that would cause blockage. He did a thorough and extensive inspection of the pipes in my whole house and gave me options of what work was immediate and what work would be more of preventive maintenance. He did not pressure me and was very professional in his approach and explaining everything about the proposed job. I am studying the scope of work and will be deciding on my various options. I was very impressed with his work ethic, his clear explanations, and the options he provided for me. I would definitely consider using this company for any of my plumbing needs! read more

I called Power Pro Plumbing because i had a potential warranty issue with my Rinnai tankless water heater, and they were listed as a PRO on Rinnai's site. Explained to them my situation, told them that i needed eyes on the TWH to determine whether it is a warranty-able, asked them what the cost was to get someone out and diagnose -- they told me $0. Yes, $0. I asked twice to make sure, and they told me both times that it costs nothing for them to come out and see if it is repairable or if a replacement is recommended. Even better, they were available within the next hour. I thought, cool. But I was suspicious. Turns out, my suspicions were for good reason. The tech that came to the house said, yea, the (part that I thought was the source of the problem, and is under warranty) is leaking. However, we charge an additional $285 to tear it down and confirm. AN ADDITIONAL $285??! Classic bait and switch / scare-tactics in play, people. Other plumbers were either generally more affordable, or more forthcoming with their pricing. Avoid this company if you can help it. They bait you with a $0 diagnostic promise, and then switch it once they're on site. Rinnai is saying that because they didn't call them to troubleshoot, WHICH THEY SHOULD KNOW ABOUT SINCE THEY'RE A PREFFERRED VENDOR, I have to go through the steps again. I had the tech leave, and I called in another appointment with another company that seemed more honest. An absolute waste of my time and a waste of the tech's / company's time; but hey, they probably get enough victims to make their method of operation profitable. I bought 2 toilets from Home Depot and made the mistake of ordering installation through them. Power Pro Plumbing set an appointment window from 12P - 5P. I was told the tech would text me when he was on the way. At 5P, I hadn't heard from anyone. When I called they told me the tech was still busy at other jobs and they couldn't guarantee when he would arrive. They had an opening for 2 days later in the afternoon, so I rescheduled. The night before, I got a text saying the tech would be there between 8A-12P. I needed the toilets installed so I changed 2 appointments for the next morning. 12P came and no contact - when I called they said they really couldn't say when the tech would arrive - probably late afternoon to early evening. I understand that the techs can get delayed at jobs but this was very bad scheduling and the rep on the phone was arrogant, not helpful and didn't really care about my business. I guess having Home Depot as a client is all they care about. I called Home Depot to cancel the service - which they said they would. I'm waiting for the charge to be reversed on PayPal. Fingers crossed. After I made that call, all of a sudden Power Pro called and said they could have a tech come to my house right away. How does that work? I'm glad I cancelled. I will give credit to the company for a quick response, friendliness and professionalism. The service tech, Ozzy, was great. The problem is the charges were outrageous and gouging. They charged me $400 for a faucet they got at home depot (they are part of the home depot referral program), most likely at a discount. I checked the retail price and it was only $199. Then they charged me another $400 for labor, a job that took only 2 hours total which included me and the tech talking, haggling over price (they wouldn't budge) etc. The actual install only took 30 minutes. I really should give them one star but that wouldn't be fair to Ozzy or the lady on the phone. Lesson learned, buy my own faucet and install myself. I won't be using them again. read more

Power pro did a cold call to my 90 year old parents home telling them they would do a free check on their water heater. They proceeded to come over (unbeknownst to any of their children -I am their daughter) and they spent over 3 hours trying to convince them that the sewer line from the house to the street had a "crack" and needed to be replaced at a cost of 23k! My poor mom sensed that something was wrong and she kept telling them that she didn't feel comfortable. My dad has early stages of dementia and did not have the ability to refute anything they were saying. They continued to brow beat them until she and my father signed their contract. When she called me the next day, my brother got on the phone and canceled the contract and the check. I then called my plumber who put a scope down their sewer line and verified that there was no reason to do this work..based on the age of the home, small cracks were not uncommon and the line could last for another 10-20 years. Further, he said if he would do the same work for approximately 8k. The worst part of the story, is that the next day, after we had met with my plumber, we were leaving to go out to dinner, and my dad fell. I believe he was so distraught and tired from the previous day after their 3 hour sales tactic, and his awareness that he had been lied to, that he fainted or lost his balance. he hit his head against the side of the house and had to be taken away in an ambulence He is now in the hospital and we do not know how or if he will fully recover. He could have died and for sure he will never be the same. I hope someone from Power Pro will read this message and understand how cruel and awful what they did was, to my parents and to my family. I hope this saves someone from allowing these people into their homes. The plumber who refused to leave their home until he had an order in his hands was Gilbert Escutia. We hired them to replace our water pipes with PLEX instead of copper pipes and was a referral from a neighbor. They ended up outsourcing the huge job to a company they had never worked with before. They did it in 1 day and was a lot of dust and debris leftover. They couldn't find a person to replace the holes in our wall (drywall) and had to find someone who lived 2.5 hours away. He also did a rush job and got texture paint on walls that did not need to to be repainted costing us several thousands of dollars more to paint and re-texture walls that did not have holes or need repair. read more
