Shysters....Shysters...Shysters These people have absolutely no shame, taking full advantage of my elderly parents. Mom 85, Dad 90 and Dad has Alzheimer's. Last week my mom had a problem with the kitchen sink draining so they called Power Pro plumbers. The plumber did a simple reset the of the garbage disposal for on charge, giving my parents the appearance that they were trust worthy. So Mom taken in by the sales pitch of 'preventive maintenance' and feeling some how obligated, called back for a simple maintenance inspection. So Monday night I find that Power Pros had cut and jackhammered a 4x4 hole in the concrete walkway of the house that afternoon. There was never any signs of damage or leakage anywhere inside or outside of the house, I was in shock. Asked Mom what happened and she was told by the Power Pros technician there was root damage to the out going sewer line. Funny there are no trees in the front yard of the house. Dad with Alzheimer's didn't remember anything. So of course I needed to see the paper work, Mom and Dad where so confused they couldn't remember what they had done with the estimate. So Tuesday morning I called Power Pros Cerritos office to find out about the estimate and try to get a logical explanation. The first person I talked too told me they would email me the paperwork, after an hour no email......I had to call back and talked to the the Installation Manager who seemed concern and email the estimate to me while I was still on the phone. After receiving the $4000.00 estimate I was shocked again. My Dad signed the estimate electronically on Saturday the 2nd which I'm sure added to his confusion, but in the estimate it states that my parents have a 'Three Day Right To Cancel' and they started work on Monday morning the 4th less then two days after he signed, not giving my parents enough time to exercise their right to the 'Three Day Right To Cancel' especially when it was Preventive Maintenance with no real urgency or any apparent damage to the property. On the estimate it did not give any kind of description of how the so-called technician came to his conclusion of why he had to cut a hole in the concrete. The Installation Manager was going to find out what was 'going on' for me and call me back later in the day. So now I go to the hole with a shovel, I need to see the repair in the sewer line. I dig maybe a foot down and it's gets hard as a rock, it's apparent that no one had dug a hole to the pipe, just the 4'x4'- 4" thick slab of concrete that was jackhammered and cut through along with thousands of dollars of cool Flagstone that was damaged on the walkway. I decide to call a local HB plumber to ask how far down I have to dig to hit the sewer line. He told me 3' to 6' depending, so I told him about the situation and he had heard of Power Pros and they're notoriously bad reputation. Since he was a local plumber and a nice guy he came over with two of his technicians. They ran a scope down the drain line from the house to the street and determined that there was no damage to the sewer pipe and no apparent work had been done to the pipe. He was kind enough to record everything on a hard drive for me so I do have the evidence. His conclusion 'that NO work had been done to the pipe'......WOW. Also took a trip over to HB city hall to find out if Power Pros pulled any permits to do the work, which legally they have to do. No permit. So Mom called and talked with the Installation Manager, to tell her to stop any further work. The Installation Manager told her the work was done and it's a $4000.00 bill. The hole is still there. Yesterday I contacted the Orange County Adult Protective Services they will be filing a case and we will be talking to a social worker in the next few days. Today I will be contacting the CSLB, California Contractors State License Board to check on Power Pros bond and any infractions they might have throughout the years. The bottom line is: I don't like people trying to take advantage of my parents, who have always been honest hard working folks. It's not good business taking advantage of people, especially the elderly! read more

Do not use. Charges additional $150 dispatch fee for so called commercial property. Used before but won't use again. They stated they had to charge my card before being dispatched and I couldn't pay at finish of job, for our accounting expense purposes. Tech did a good job but won't use company again. On Sunday, December 23rd, we had some sprinkler repair work done by our gardener. He had to shut off the water line from the street to the house via an old gate valve next to the house. That valve was old and rusted and when the work was done it could not be opened to let the water flow. So here we were, late Sunday, before Christmas and we had no water in the house. We called a "24 hour, 7 day a week" company only to be told they had no one available until after Christmas; yikes! We found Power Pro Plumbing on-line and explained the issue; we needed a ball valve, etc, etc. They said someone would be out within a two hour window, and yes they could fix it. At about 5:15 Jorge Barrios from Power Pro showed up, assessed the situation and said he could remove the old valve and install the new one. We told him to go ahead, as we needed water. Jorge worked on the valve and copper tubing replacement and had everything working again by about 8:15 PM, three hours! Now, we thought the cost (under $700.00) was reasonable considering it was the Sunday two days before Christmas so we were happy. I will definitely use these guys in the future. read more

We will never recommend "Power Pro" to any person(s). We will no longer do business with them because they are now price gouging. The Tech that arrived to inspect the work told me the price will be $760ish to replace 1 single faucet that had a small ruptured hole in the line that was no bigger that a dime. The Tech left, came back to say he was unable to locate the same faucet, but he can replace both faucet with an additional cost. PowerPro Plumbing did a another great job, Thank you. George Caulford was called to our home to replace a tankless water heater. Another plumber had installed the original device 16 years ago. It was a rather new style of service for a residential use at the time. That plumber installed it at the spot of the previous water heater. I thought we were looking at a replacement of the device, using the same set up from the previous installation. Nope. When George first saw the previous device, he was shocked. He showed me in a clear and concise way, why the previous install was just plain dangerous. Venting, lack of any pressure relief and four other big ticket mistakes were explained to me. George explained alternatives of inside and outside locations of a new tankless for an installation. I didn't realize how dangerous the previous install had been. But the new proper and legal install would cost way too much for just the two of us to use. Tankless served us well when we had four people at our house. Now it is a waste of money for capacity we don not need. George explained why I would desire a tankless versus a standard water heater. We opted for the standard water heater for ease of installation and cost. George rebuilt the interior location for the proper installation. He made the venting safe again. He put the proper safety devices for automatic shut off when there is a problem. We were sleeping 10' away from a bomb in our previous installation. I have used PowerPro many times for jobs big and small. I have always been impressed with the integrity and personal care for their work. I'm very happy with the work they did for me. I was having problems with both my toilets, needing to keep a plunger on hand at all times. Efrain came to my house the same day I called and did a thorough evaluation of my entire system. He went so far as to run a camera through my drain line to see if there were any blockages. His diagnosis was that our problem was in the toilets themselves. They were older (over ten years) with a lot of calcium build up and fairly low end models (the old ball and float design). Efrain suggested I consider two new toilets, "power-flush" models. I inquired about pricing and he contacted his manager Alvin who was able to come to my house about two hours later. Alvin did a back up check on everything Efrain had done and agreed that changing the toilets would alleviate our problems. He gave me two estimates - one if I buy the toilets myself and they only install them and one if they buy them and install them. I opted for door two, since I would end up paying nearly the same amount either way. Alvin then gave me a 15% Senior discount which I appreciated. The Power Flush toilets are considerably more than a regular toilet. But they are worth it. The next day Efrain came back with the toilets and installed them both. It took him about two hours and he was finished. He cleaned up everything afterward and removed the old toilets so I didn't have to deal with them. Our new toilets work great! The best I've ever had in any house I lived in before. By far! In conclusion. Efrain and Alvin really took good care of us, arriving promptly and on time, offering good advice and providing us with a quality product and excellent installations. They were both very professional and easy to deal with. I would recommend Power Pro for your plumbing issues if they work in your area. This crew works in the South Bay and Orange County. I noticed an area just outside my garage that appeared to be a great deal of moisture in a small area at edge of my driveway. I was concerned there was some sort of leak below the surface. I had used Power Pro many years ago to put in a perma-lining on our drain line. I was unsure if the issue was possibly related to the drain line and contacted Power Pro. I spoke with George. He took all of my information and let me know I would receive a call back to let confirm someone would be scheduled to come out. I got the call from a dispatcher soon after. Emiliano showed up on time and assessed the issue. Based on what he saw, he felt that there was actually an issue not related to plumbing, but to the vegetation. He wanted to make sure he checked all possibilities, however, and let me know he would check out the work they had done for me previously by scoping the line. Nathan came out with the equipment required to check the line. Everything looked good as they showed me the camera of the line showing it was clear and in tact. Nathan checked other areas of the line and provided some helpful feedback and recommendations. Was in desperate need for a plumber because my water heater broke (and the wife wasn't happy about not having hot water for a couple days), so I took a chance with Power Pro, and was very glad that I did! Called in the morning and they sent Mike out to take a look. He got here on time, even let me know ahead of time when they were on their way (via text), and he was really nice and helpful. Mike spent time to explain the situation to me, gave me options for the water heater and even checked out my drainage and sewage while he was here. I knew I likely needed a new water heater, so Mike was able to set up a new water heater install for the same day! Fernando came and installed the new water heater and really went above and beyond in helping me out. He showed me the new heater, even fixed the shed, snaked my shower, and was just an overall cool and nice dude. Everything went well and they took the time to make sure they did things the right way. Overall, they spent about 5 hours at my place installing and fixing things, and they still gave me a great deal! I was very impressed. It's hard to find/trust some plumbing companies out there, and I was really hesitant to give Power Pro a chance (I had only heard about them on ESPN).
