Soooo it's been a while since me and my fiancé have been, and I am pretty disappointed. The food is subparb, definitely not what it used to be and the service? Wow! Awful. Our server acted like he didn't give a crap about his customer service, we had to initiate everything! And it took 15 minutes for 1 glass of wine... It wasn't even busy. When we were done eating another girl, who looked like she was pilled out the whole time didn't ask if we needed anything else, just asked if we received our check. When she brought it to us, she bitched about people telling her to do a million things... Like really? The duration we were there she was only cleaning tables and acted like customers were a hassle, BTW she cleaned about 10 tables in 45 minutes. When we left, not even a goodbye or have a nice night. I can honestly say I only gave a 2 star because of the food. Nunthaporns used to have good waiters and waitresses. 3 women were there before us, you coukd tell they haddent been served yet, and left when we were helped first.. Idk what happened, but they probably would have gotten at least a 4 star had they acted like they gave a shit. Sorry to say that I'll never come back. Hopefully the managers read these and take these reviews into consideration. read more

The service was horrible!!! I was told I couldn't order shrimp because it takes to long to cook and with the expected 1600 people to show up at 2nd Fridays they needed to move people in and out. Since when does shrimp take longer to cook than chicken? We had to flag down anyone who ran by the table to ask for water, sauces and our check. The food wasn't that great. The food is good, if you can get any. Too many times a quick lunch turns into 2 plus hours. Painfully slow and understaffed, top this off with extreme rudeness and you have a recipe for disaster. The final straw was arriving for dinner before a Mesa Art Center performance, note that we arrived two and a half hours before we had to leave, we sat at a table for twenty minutes, yes we timed it, before getting noticed and served drinks. Checked the watch, another ten minutes before or orders were taken. Click is ticking. ..fifteen minutes go by and one appetizer appears, one cup of soup. Twenty minutes goes by, no more appetizers arrived. Now, we are worried that we will not get the other apps, much less our main courses. With fifteen minutes before or show, we left in disgust. walked across the street to Mangos and explained our predicament. Half starved, the wonderful folks at mangos quickly fed us and we made our concert. I can't believe this place stays in business. read more

It's good and pretty flavorful, although I've tried four different entrees now and they all are on the sweet, rather than spicy, side. Maybe next time I will specify that I want some kick to it. The lunch special is a great deal for $7.50. I will be back! read more

For our 54th anniversary I got tickets to a show and planned to go to a Thai restaurant for dinner; my wife's favorite. We went to Nunthaporns Thai Cuisine restaurant as it is right across the street from the theater. When we arrived we were seated immediately and brought water. The waiter came by and we ordered an appetizer, the main meal and dessert. I said we needed to be out of here by 7:20 bring it all at once and fill the table with food. He said that they were about 30 minutes behind and they might not be able to do that. We said thats OK and I said "we will just have to be late" the waiter nodded and left. We waited and waited, no food. Finally the waiter came by and said "I thought you were leaving" my wife looked at him and said "what, you haven't put in the order yet." He said no I thought you were leaving. I said to him "I said, we will just have to be late" and my wife said "it is to late for us to go some where else we will eat here." He realized he had really screwed up and immediately put in the order. The appetizer came quickly and then the main meal. We were waiting for the dessert (my wife's favorite) when another waiter cleared the table and my wife mentioned to her that we are waiting for our dessert, she nodded and left. Then the waiter dropped the bill on the table and quickly left, I said "where is the dessert." He came back with the waiter that cleared the table and she said "you never ordered dessert." My wife just about came off the seat with frustration. Then our waiter put the icing on the cake and said "I cannot take your order for dessert with the meal, you must order it in proper sequence." We ate here last night and were lucky to arrive before they got swamped. The food was very good. I had the pad med-ma-muang with tilapia and my husband had the mixed vegetables with chicken and we both were very satisfied with the quality, although my husband had asked the server for a recommendation of an entree that would be spicy and his dish had great flavor but was not spicy at all. However, the service was horrible and the atmosphere was extremely unpleasant. Our food came out in a timely fashion, but our waiter was often out of sight. When we were finished eating, several other customers would have loved to have had our table, but our server took forever to provide leftover containers and he never dropped off the check so we sat for a very long time while others waited and were mostly ignored by the staff. If I had been waiting, I would have definitely walked out since no one was greeting or communicating with these customers. In addition, the restaurant telephone was ringing pretty much nonstop but no one took the time to answer it. Morever, the restaurant was extremely loud so conversation was impossible. Terrible service. Please tell your chef (and kitchen staff) that fish sauce should be used sparingly. Seriously. The papaya salad got to the table and the horrible smell nearly knocked us out of our seats. The taste was just as bad. Menu item #503, Pra Rham, was bland. One of the side sauces was inedible. Good atmosphere. Pineapple Curry is great! Lots of great flavors and just a little spice. Pineapple and cashew rice is also very good. The Evil jungle princess had fresh ingredients and put together well but it wasn't for me. I will try Larb and a few other things next time and rereview. about the 5th time , have eaten here. Thai food is my all time favorite, and this was good standard, especially at lunchtime. Out of my general range, and construction woes keep me away. Went there today, after a long drive from Payson ,and had to pick up car from $1,000 repair, so was in area, with mom, and thought yum. Went thru the back door. about 10 people standing up front. Asked them, what is wait? they said don't know, have been standing here at least 10 mins, some longer. many empty tables, but full house waiting. One waiter, and I guess a table clearer?. We decided to leave, walking towards back, waiter stopped us and said, can put you at a table and bring water but 30-35 mins for food. Asked if someone out sick? He said no ,normal. That is just unacceptable. was 1240 pm when got there. If that is common, they need more wait and kitchen staff. Mom said, lets just try it -so sat. Many people upset, some leaving as soon as they came in after talking to those up front. . Waiter and clearer working like crazy, seemed frenzied, stressed, and thought both were going to bolt out the door. Lady next to us w/husband left, had to get to dr apt, so had finally gotten soup, but never got lunch. She told husband to bring it home. Both were really upset. Staff kept apologizing. Finally, the clearer guy, brought us soup about 25 mins after sat down. It was not even warm. spring roll came with, dry, chewy and barely warm. then food came. I ordered Evil Jungle princess that I get there often. Didn't look remotely the same. My mom said, that isn't what you ordered, tell him. I said no, will just eat it. Not going to wait for another order. As long as no seafood all thai to me is good, and I was having a bad day already. Wouldn't have mattered as we couldn't get him to come back, glad some water on table for refill. The restaurant started clearing out, some sort of calm returned and we were able to pay bill. but all in all stressful, disappointing experience for all the diners, and felt sorry for the staff. Mom liked her food, other than wasn't very warm. But she remembers it "being so much better last time". So another thai restaurant crossed off the list. I love the food here. They'll make it as spicy as you want, and they know spicy! Seriously, it's so annoying to order something extra hot and not even have a slight burn. You will not have this problem with Nunthaporn. The food is flavorful, the staff is helpful, their Thai ice tea is DELISH! My favorite Thai restraurant as far as the food goes. The decor is cute but they are a little understaffed. Either way, it doesn't stop me from eating there. I just choose to go during a less busy time of day. read more

Always friendly atmosphere. Fast service. You never feel rushed and it is seldom crowded. My friends praised the food and would be coming back. Not fancy by any measurement but clean and maintained. Full bar which is always a plus. Has been in Mesa for many years and I've never heard a complaint from any of my Mesa friends about this restaurant. So if you wasn't a reliable Thai meal and good service this is a great place to dine. read more

My husband and I came to Nunthaporn's after we won a gift card and after reading the past reviews we were very happy to receive our prize. We came in late on a Wednesday (around 8:00pm) and we still got great service. We looked at the menu like we were reading Egyptian hieroglyphs after ordering Crispy spring rolls we went for the Thai rice and Pad Lard-Na. The spring rolls with chili sauce were amazing and we kept fighting over who got one extra piece (there is eight pieces in an order) but we each just had our part. Then the food came the Thai Rice was so delicious and the flavor had just a hint of spice to it witch made it a perfect partner to the Noodles we had. The noodles had more of a sweet spicy soy bean paste with the flat rice noodles yum yum yum. For this and 2 drinks we paid 30 dollars and we had a 25 dollar gift card so this all cost of 5 bucks ...... Lucky us we have two 25 dollar gift cards so we will be back very very soon to try more delicious Thai food read more

Love the food and have never ordered anything but the Garlic Lover's with chicken since I first tried it. The only reason I give it 4 out of 5 is that they stop seating way before their advertised closing time and they're also not always open during their listed hours. Yummy!! We live near by and have been in a few times. Haven't had a dish we didn't like yet! The pad Thai is very good and so are the curry dishes. The service is always friendly, even when the restaurant is really busy. They are understaffed sometimes, but the food has always been worth waiting for. We will definitely be back again! read more

My co-workers and I went there for lunch today (5.19.16) and the food was AMAZING. This was our first time going but it will not be our last. Went to Nunthaporn on Friday 8/19/2016 based on previous customer reviews. First let me state that night there was a concert scheduled at the Mesa Arts Center. Arrived at 6:00pm and was seated immediately not very many people in the restaurant. By 6:30 it was full! Our waiter was under age and seemed very inexperienced. Ordered 2 wines and an appetizer, they were out of that appetizer, ordered out second choice and they were out of that appetizer, on our third option they did have it. The first glass of wine took 15 minutes to arrive, the appetizer took 20 minutes. We were ready to place our entrée first choice they did not have, second choice they did not have, ordered our third choices and another glass of wine. That glass took 25 minutes to arrive and our entrée 30 minutes. The food was good but the service was terrible and they need to stock items offered on their menu. A coworker and I tried this place and I've been back several times and gotten a lot of takeout. I met the owner once and she seemed very sweet. The food is great and everything is very clean and well taken care of. I had the pad thai and evil jungle princess which are both cooked very nicely and taste great. My server always takes care of me and one or two are pretty good looking as well i might add. But my last experience at this place completely turned me off. I know a lot about small businesses and how they should be run. A client and I met for a saturday lunch here (on my advice) and everything was going great as usual until I went to the washroom and saw a fight between staff. I couldn't understand what they were saying. An older lady (i think is the cook from my previous vistis) began yelling at the servers or someone so rudely I could not enjoy my meal. Like I said, I have spent a lot of time dealing with restaurants and can understand much of the stress and problems involved, but there was absolutely no reason for one person to speak to others in such a manner in a place of business. Even without understanding the words I could tell this lady was totally rude. The server looked like she was trying to make nice but this old lady just seemed like a bad person. I was going to complain to the owner but she apparently wasn't there and i have not been back since, especially considering the mean lady was the one who cooked the food. Some of my coworkers have said they had similar experiences so It doesn't sound like 1 bad day. I used to recommend this place to my friends/coworkers and traveling clients but now I tell them to make sure they stay away from this drama shop. It wasn't the noise so much as the way the cook treated the others as if she had some major superiority complex or just hated her life, Either way, I don't think I would want to eat anything she made knowing the type of person she is. Shame too, because it was a good find and the waitresses and owner seemed great, but one person can really ruin any experience. read more
