**Update** ZERO STARS IF POSSIBLE. So this is crazy and I'm totally upset and felt I must change this review. I had no idea that my family stopped coming here from over a year again other than we don't eat out that much. It turns out that one night as a family we went to the downtown site for dinner. Dad paid the bill and off we go. Our family's a good size, 7 totally, that means two pizzas and a lot of sodas, so my dad knew it wasn't gonna be cheap. Well the next day he checks his bank and realizes they have OVERCHARGED HIM A HUNDRED DOLLARS! Like what??? How??? Who was so incompetent to hit the wrong button? It's all on those weird iPads so I have no clue how the mistake happened but my father is a reasonable guy and reasonable thing to do is go back and get a refund. Well they told him there was nothing they could do for him. My god is that not the correct answer, you overcharged then do the right thing and give it back. I'm not sure if this was a management issue or what happened that they "couldn't help him" but it's ridiculous. It's just not possible for our family of 7 to consume more than $100 of pizza so a $200 charge was a clear RED FLAG. Sure this happened a while ago but I was so angry that this happened to him that when I remembered the previous review so just thought the whole world should know this place has horrible customer service, no morals, and I'm whole heartedly boycotting PPK and will encourage all our friends to do the same. **original**The one by Food4Less has a total different atmosphere, much more sports bar feeling. 1 word = Meh. After a long day of wine tasting, my boyfriend and I decided that we would cleanse our pallet with a piping hot thin-crust pizza and some cold beer. Well...the beer was good. The pizza was "underwhelming". I asked for a thin-crust pizza with tomatoes and basil and basically was handed a pan-crust pizza (which has been smoothed out to give the illusion of a "thin-crust") with cold diced tomatoes scattered on top. I also was not a fan of their pizza sauce. It was extra sweet. Although the atmosphere was great and the salad bar was fresh I was so disappointed in the pizza that I can only give "Mission" 2 stars. This pizza was terrible and over priced. We order 1 large pepperoni and 1 large vegetarian pizza. Total came to $40.80! The most expensive pizzas I ever order so I was guessing it was going to be good but no. The crust was almost doughy and the sauce taste like flavorless canned tomato sauce. The guy that took the order on the phone wasn't helpful and said there were no specials... What pizza place does not have specials? Ordered 2 pizzas , not at a busy time 2 weeks ago. Both pizzas were chicken and each had a tiny matchstick piece of chicken on each piece, minimal sauce and cheese. Dry as a bone. Worse pizza ever ! "Hey, do you know of any really good pizza places in Paso?" "PPK!" That's pretty much how most of my conversations go when people ask me what's a good restaurant in town. PPK just rates higher than the rest in my opinion. This review is about their take out option. I've eaten inside many times and have always been impressed with the staff's service. They are always keeping themselves busy when I come in during a lull, the place is pretty clean and they are never short on friendliness. I always try to tip them very well because of this. Their take out service was great. I called in, was greeted by a friendly employee who read back to me two times what I ordered. I liked that. It showed that they wanted to double check they got it right. They did the same thing when I picked up my delivery. Whomever trained the employees did a good job. My take-out was quick, the toppings were fresh and the pizza smelled amazing. Within ten minutes my date had consumed 2 slices of our medium Kitchen Sink pizza and was dying with love for the crunchy crust, the freshness of the ingredients, and the amazing signature PPK taste. It became an instant favorite of his. Also, please, please, PLEASE love yourselves and get their Kitchen Sink pizza. Don't fart around with just pepperoni or extra cheese. No. Treat yourself. Did not think that I was going to find a great lasagna here!!! I love the pizza and the salad bar. So this is always an easy suggestion for dinner! The lasagna was a 5 cheese and meat lasagna. Nothing like burnt food getting delivered to your hotel room and not even getting a response back from management! I can not believe they even delivered this to us! So disappointed! The calzone was so burnt it was not even edible, nor were the potato skins that were burnt together without being able to pull them apart! What a waste of money! What gets me is they knew when they put it in the boxes that it was burnt but they chose to send it anyway! Oh ya. And thanks for not sending napkins ect. The restaurant itself has a pretty laid back environment. It's the kind of place you would go to watch a game (in our case, we were watching the 2014 FIFA World Cup). Their pizza is outstanding! Their white sauce is OUT OF THIS WORLD and the ingredients are just right. Our service was also top notch. We had a specific order in which we wanted the pizza to be white sauce, but they gave us red sauce instead. To show how apologetic they were, they not only made us the pizza that we wanted, but they also let us keep the red sauce pizza. All in all, we had excellent service from this restaurant and I do intend to drop by again. read more

I was just put on a salad diet and I remembered a great salad that I had from the Paso Pizza Kitchen salad bar years ago. I headed over about 4 o'clock today, a Sunday. I paid for the large salad to go, $8.00. The salad bar looked a little sad but I decided to give it a try anyway. I got home with the salad and it was horrible. All of the lettuce was wilted and the beets were little tiny bits of brown chunks. Carrots and tomatoes and ranch dressing were all great but without the lettuce I woudn't call it a salad. I am really diappointed because I thought I could swing by everyday and satisfy my salad diet. I tried to call and speak with the manager before writing a review but the mailbox was full. read more

I had previously reviewed chubby chandlers as the best pizza in Paso. I take it back. It is here! Crust and sauce is superior to chubby's, and their ranch dressing is extra good! Must be buttermilk ranch because it has a lil something extra delicious about it. Add to it some really tasty wings and salads, plus delivery and you get the best pizza joint in town! The staff was really nice, the inside seems nice and open despite having seating for a ton of people. Good dinner specials and half off pitchers of beer on Sunday's!? Yes! The pizza was better than Marv's but not as good as Bravo's in Atascadero. The people working seemed to be a bit flustered but despite that were very polite and helpful. The antipasto salad was okay, not enough meat/cheese/olives, etc. and too much iceberg, but it was fair. The hot wings were standard fare, and nothing to try again. Been going here for as long as I can remember! Maybe about a year ago I wasn't so happy with them, but they've definitely made a comeback. This is the best pizza in all of Paso as long as you eat it inside the restaurant. Pizza is always best super fresh straight out of the oven. The sauce is tangy and flavorful, the cheese and melty and delicious, topping are fresh.... I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. And of course the best part, the crust is nice and crispy so the pieces aren't all floppy! I don't know what kind of ranch dressing they use or what their recipe is, but I could literally eat it by itself because it tastes so good. The staff has gotten so much better than it had been in the past. They're very friendly and attentive and will clean up tables as soon as someone leaves so that another customer will be able to have a seat. The only complaint I would have is that very frequently they accidentally put diet pepsi in the regular pepsi soda machine slot. Yuck! Really not too important, though. Overall this is the pizza place of my choice especially since I live a short walk away. They definitely get super packed on the weekends so watch out for that. Oh and yes, GET THE KITCHEN SINK! Good pizzas. The crust makes them - soft but crispy on the bottom and their red sauce is excellent. Biggest issue is cleanliness. We ate our pizza amongst 7 tables covered with used plates and pizza. We were there for 40 minutes and no one cleared or wiped any of them. People were using napkins to do it themselves so they'd have somewhere to sit. What a bummer. read more

one word: dissapointing. The pizza was greasy, unevenly topped and the overall flavors were mediocre at best. The pizza was cut so horribly one side of the pizza had little tiny slices and the other side had giant long slices. I'm not even sure how it's possible to center where the cuts meet in the middle so close the edge without doing it on purpose. Oh, they also missed a topping I ordered on it. Of the two pizza's i ordered, one had extra cheese, but had less cheese than the one that didn't. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that somehow their cheese ran under the pizza and glued it down to the box. On par with dominoes for twice the price. read more

This is perhaps the most under-rated pizza joint I have ever encountered on yelp. Their pizza is always top notch and made with quality ingredients. Their staff is amazing and courteous. There is ample parking. The price is adequate for what you are paying. The atmosphere feels very homely which fits my personality. I used to come here at least once a week when I was working full-time at Camp Roberts and living on 10th street. Went to paso to see my parents. They spoke very highly of this place, so I was excited to go an try it. The excitement was short lived. They use a conveyer belt oven to cook their pizza. I guess it was set to super speed cause we received our pizza with in minutes. The cheese was still in its shredded form cold and not melted. Be dough was soft and semi gooey. The sad part is they use great ingredients but failed to cook it correctly. Also the prices are ridiculous. Definitely won't be back. read more

First off customer service was rude. I went in and ordered a personal pesto pizza and a beer and salad bar. Realized if offered I could have gotten it cheaper in a meal. I thought maybe If I tipped they would be nicer and when I put cash in the jar no attitude changed. The salad bar hadn't been switched out and the dairy products were turning colors on top from not being stirred. The salad (especially the spinach and baby greens) was wilted and turning to mush. When they served me my pizza the crust was super thin with no crust and it wasn't what I expected. The beer was the only thing I really enjoyed and I was so unsatisfied I decided to walk out and see if they would even acknowledge me or say goodbye. Would give these guys 4 stars based on taste, but the employees ruined that for me. First issue, they hand my called in pizza to another customer who walked outside. Opened the box, put his face to smell it,then brought it back.in and got his correct pizza, then waited a few minutes before handing g it to me. I watch all of this go down as I wated for our pizza. I told them that was gross and didn't want that pizza and they told me sorry, but they are too backed up to make us a fresh one. That was it for me, the last time we go there.....the time before that. I stood in line. Waited my turn, then when I stepped up to pick up my order, the guy just walked away acting like he didn't see Me there and waited 5 mins before greeting me, then proceeded to tell me to pay after we paid online. Just non caring overwhelmed employees with 0 customer service skills. Is really a turn off, and as good as the pizza is, we will go elsewhere because service is very important to us. In the past PPK was my favorite pizza place. I'm not a huge pizza fan but I could easily eat a whole small pizza here no problem. Other places I am one to two slices max. After our horrible experience last night we will not return. We placed a phone order and ordered a med pepperoni pizza (it was fine) and a veggie calzone with NO CHEESE and NO ONION. My husband went to pick up the order. Gets home and I open my box to find my calzone covered in CHEESE with green onions sprinkled on top. I would have been fine with the green onion, it was the cheese covering the whole thing that I had issue with. Call PPK to complain about my incorrect order and after 10 mins finally get through. Explain what happened to the girl on the phone who pulls up my order acknowledges that I ordered it with NO CHEESE AND NO ONIONS. Checks with the manager and he states that it is was made correctly and basically I was lying. They told me that if I wanted them to do anything I would have to bring my food back in to prove them wrong. WTH?!? I asked to speak to the manager directly and he refused to get on the phone and just made the poor girl deal with me. If when I called they offered me store credit & would have been happy but being accused of lying over something that cost $8.49, really?!? Now that I am really upset we go back with calzone in hand & I request to speak to the manager. Five minutes later he comes up to counter & looks at my order & states it was ordered incorrectly. Excuses still even though you have my food in your hand. The girl that I spoke to on the phone pulls up my order to prove to him it was ordered correctly. Tells me he will make a new one and walks away, once again leaving the poor cashiers to deal with a pissed off customer. I tell them I do not want a new one and I want my card credited back. They offer store credit. Once again I say no, I want my card credited. They finally credit my card and offer to make me a new calzone. I decline. My issue is not with the girls at the register, they can only do so much. My issue is with management. I have never been in more poorly run establishment. Accusing customers of lying is not the way to keep customers. So PPK over $8.49 you lost another customer. We will never return. read more

DON'T STOP HERE IF YOU ARE A TOURIST. My family and I stopped here while traveling to LA. We really wanted pizza from a local spot. We came here and wish we had not. First, let's talk about the waitress/cashier. While, coming out of the restroom (after a long ride), I was holding out the door for a girl zombie on her phone. She didn't say thanks, but that's fine. Then, to my surprise, the same girl was taking my order. She had no smile on her face with a dead stare looking at me and my husband. We ordered a personal pizza (for the lil' one) and a MD pizza for us. Pizza: The pizza was alright, we had mixed veggie, mushroom, jalapeño. It's was not a fluffy dough pie, but was a well done pie. They also, have ranch and the ranch is really good. I'm sure it pairs well with buffalo wings. Back, to the order. I go up to the cashier (same rude girl), and order a Cesar Salad. I ask her how big is the Cesar? She points at a bowl next to her, with the same dead stare, "it's bigger than this". Haha, okay like at this point I'm like okay if I wanted to keep guessing the size, I would have just never asked! So, as I am trying to order the Cesar, she just blatantly, ignores the cr** out of me. Now, I stand there and try to be polite to someone who just isn't at all. So, as I am standing in front of her after she is done talking to another worker, and I have been ready to order, she says, "What?". I'm like, "What? I'm trying to order the Cesar salad I asked about that's what." Okay, that's not the worst part, this is. Reminder, my family and I are passing by. My husband and I leave HALF of our pizza. I kid you not it was exactly a half pizza and our lil one left 3 slices of his personal. The Cesar I order, I decide to eat it in the car since my son and husband don't want any. I tell my husband to get to go boxes and to tell the same cashier, since she was just standing there, to tell the busser's not to take our food we are still working on it. Okay you might be asking then why pack it? Well, I couldn't help notice some fly's, no big deal they get in everywhere. So, I was just being cautious. Then, we pack up and our son ask if he can go play in the game room. We gave him some dollars and we went to the game room. My husband tells her again, to please not remove our food we were going to the game room, this time he was specific of our whereabouts. We walk to our table in a corner... Not even fifteen minutes later our food is thrown away. $22 something dollars on pizza and $6 something on Cesar. We go up to the same cashier. She goes back to the kitchen and comes back to tell us that the manager said he'll give us 20% off next time we come. Mind you we're just passing by. We told her we weren't from here. She shrugs her shoulders and said okay. SHE NEVER SAID SORRY. THE MANAGER DIDN'T APPROACH US OR OFFER TO SPEAK TO US. They just did not care that they threw away all that food after we assured with their horrible cashier to please not toss our food. We weren't done eating, we were going to oder an appetizer. This place made us feel really bad, and we just drove home. My husband was upset and my son wasn't done eating. We came to spend our money here, and they treated us really bad. Here's the problem: the cashier had just plain horrible customer service, and there is really no way around it. No one cared, that they through away our food/money. So, if you want to do a pit stop don't do it here because they clean up pretty fast. Also, the cashier's probably just don't care about their job. If you want to be treated with common courtesy, plain and simple check another pizza joint out. TIP: check yelp, if I would have seen some of these comments I wouldn't have came here. Ordered delivery tonight while staying a quick 1 night here in lovely Paso Robles. The front desk at our hotel gave us a generous list of recommended restaurants that deliver & have great food. Tonight we felt like pizza & decided to give this place a try. Their menu has a diverse list of options for pizzas which is nice to see. Same with the appetizers. I was craving a salad along with the pizza and maybe some breadsticks but to my disappointment the list of salads was pretty short. I decided that when I called our order in I would ask about the salads to see how they were made & what ingredients they used. Their online menu does not offer this. So when I called a nice young man took my order and answered my questions. I still really wanted to add a salad and when I inquired about their "California chicken salad" I was not feeling very much like a salad anymore. Lettuce, olives, tomatoes, cheddar cheese & chicken is what I was told comes in the salad. Basic. Something I could get at a fast food restaurant, not a reflection that should match the otherwise wide variety of food on the menu. We decided on a pepperoni pizza and a side of Asiago cheese twists that were both good. The delivery man was very kind & brought in our food to the hotel room as my husband was downstairs purchasing a wine bottle & I was busy feeding my 8 month old dinner.
