Immediate 5 stars after reading that their Cafe de olla was UNLIMITED! When I first moved to California I never heard of Cafe de olla until my co-worker brought it homemade and it changed my life and added a new coffee drink on my rotation! My friend and I were looking for a cute like brunch spot to catch up at and decided on Pradera Brunch since it's right next to Northgate! The interior of the restaurant was beautiful and service was amazing. At first we were seated inside, but my friend started to have a migraine a few minutes after being seated and the serve was very accommodating and was ok moving us to the patio seating. Both of us were wanting to try a lot of things and instead of getting an entree each we decided to share their Burrito Mojado with Sausage and also shared their Fresas Con crema waffles! Pro Tip: We asked for the red and green salsa to be put on the side so we both could adjust how much we wanted on our burrito and also try both salsas instead of one. Both were amazing and I would suggest getting both! The burrito mojado was really good! I enjoyed all the flared inside the burrito and they didn't skip out on any fillings! Their Fresas con crema was the star of the show! It was light and not too sweet, the fresh strawberries truly some balance to it! Will be bringing back more friends here to break fast and enjoy great food!

Awesomely delicious is what I'd have to say to describe this place. The decor is vibrant and its sandwich on the side it Northgate. The server was incredibly nice and knowledgeable. I ended up getting the Tres leches French toast, country potatoes, and strawberry milkshake. The tres leches French toast was amazing! It was flavorful and sweet and hit all the right notes of what you'd want as a brunch food. The country potatoes filled the more savory palette to complement the sweetness of the French toast. Lastly the strawberry milkshake tasted delicious and not at all artificial. I love the presentation as it's in a bag which makes it perfect to take to-go. Overall, I would definitely come back for good food, service, and overall ambiance!

My friend and I came here few weeks ago for brunch and we loved it! Love the decor and interior design, it takes you briefly into the world of Tulum, or a tropical place, or a place where you feel like you're on vacation, and not in Costa Mesa! Service was super attentive and the servers were so nice! They have such delicious cafe de olla, and free refills! Dogs friendly as we came with a big dog, they will also bring your dog water. My friend got the avocado toast and I got the lengua en su jugo, huge, delish, bit on the salty side for me! I took half the soup home because it was a lot and a bit too heavy for me for brunch. Def would come again for dinner!

From the moment you walk up to this place, it already feels like an experience rather than just a meal. Tucked in right next to Northgate you might miss it at first! The atmosphere is beautiful with warm lighting, natural wood tables, woven hanging lamps, soft pink floral décor, and a modern indoor-outdoor layout that somehow feels both trendy and cozy at the same time. If you sit outside the hanging lamps provide warmth. The cherry blossom tree and artistic wall accents give it a relaxing, almost tropical café vibe. The service was just as impressive as the décor. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind from the moment we arrived. Food and drinks came out fast; the presentation and aroma had us ready to eat. The staff stayed on top of refills and checked in often without being intrusive, which made the whole experience feel smooth and comfortable. The food itself was yummy. The breakfast skillet was hearty and flavorful with perfectly cooked egg whites, crispy potatoes, melted cheese, peppers, and juicy sausage links. It felt like elevated comfort food, simple breakfast flavors done really well. The Lengua en su Jugo (stew) dish was rich, savory, and packed with flavor. The onion, radish, lime and cilantro topped it off perfectly; adding texture and freshness. The grilled pork belly was another standout. It had that perfect caramelized sear on the outside while still staying tender and juicy inside. You could tell it was cooked carefully because the texture was spot on and the flavor was bold without being overwhelming. To drink we the chai latte which was smooth and creamy, beautifully presented, and even had a fun surprise hidden at the bottom -- a little cow figure inside the cup. That tiny detail honestly tied the whole restaurant theme together. We also tried the Mocha Chocolate Abuelita Frappe with oat milk (oat milk costs extra, FYI), completely over the top in the best way possible! Loaded with whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, a Ferrero Rocher hazelnut chocolate and a wafer. It looked like a dessert masterpiece and tasted just as good! Overall, this restaurant nails every category: atmosphere, presentation, flavor, creativity, and service. It's the kind of place that works well for a brunch date or brunch with girlfriends!

We were excited to try this place, the ambiance is pretty fun with colorful animals and decorations around with a unique chandelier covering a good amount of the ceiling, there service was ok nothing amazing, fairly attentive. The food was sub par and a little disappointing. The banana pancakes are raved about and we found them to be way too sweet and not that enjoyable, i got a chilaquiles plate with green and red sauce it was suppose to have eggs and i didn't get any. The flavors were ok, the meat was undercooked for what i asked for, the drink was good but a little steep on price point and when asked if i wanted whip cream or not i didn't expect to be charged for it, that was distasteful.

A really good breakfast spot with a mix of Mexican and American dishes. The interior is adorable. They are connected to the Northgate market in case you have a hard time finding it. Dishes we ordered were chilaquiles with grilled chicken, pork belly eggs Benedict, and a single pancake. Chilaquiles was what my husband ordered and he said it was the best he's had. I ordered the pork belly Benedict, something I've never had before and it was delicious. The hollandaise sauce was the best I've tasted and the pork belly was marinated in shoyu. it paired sooo well with the eggs Benedict. I loved this dish. The only critique would be that the pork belly was slightly tough. However, flavors were perfect. The pancake was good too but nothing out of the ordinary. I couldn't finish it and saved half for the next day. They were pretty busy but it seemed sufficiently staffed. However, Service was nice and polite but a bit slow. Prices pretty normal for the area ... not too cheap but not too outrageous either. Overall we are definitely coming back.

I came here with my family last Friday for brunch and we had a decent time. I can tell this place gets packed because of the style of this eatery; full of instagramable photos. The colors are vibrant and the interior decor is beautiful and modern. The service was slightly off. Our waitress forgot to put down our utensils and napkins so we didn't have anything to eat with. No one came to refill our waters and at one point, we asked this server for a glass of water and she never came. I ordered their tres leches French toast which was regular tasting and simple. It tasted like tough bread soaked with milk. I did enjoy my wife's Queso Fundido con Longaniza which is Oaxacan melted cheese with pico de gallo and chopped longaniza served with hot tortillas. I did love pouring their chili oil all over the cheese with every bite. We also liked their pork chicharron with creamy guac; this is a go-to appetizer. The drinks look interesting too we probably should've ordered some but it's ok. Not sure I'd come back but I'd say it's worth trying. It's pricey too so expect that.

Came here in the morning, so it wasn't busy and got seated right away. Our waitress was nice and accommodating. We ordered the enchiladas suizas, lengua en su jugo, side of pork belly, and a strawberry banana licuado. Everything was delicious! Would definitely come back here and try a few other things. My family and I came here for a birthday brunch for my mom, and it ended up being a great choice. Sam helped us out and the service was honestly amazing--super attentive without being over the top. The food was really good too. It's a nice twist on Mexican food without being crazy expensive, which I appreciated. Everything we tried was worth it. The atmosphere was also a plus--the music wasn't loud and it didn't feel distracting, so we could actually enjoy the meal and hang out. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

Pradera is truly a special place. I've dined with them like 5 times now since late 2025 and every time I feel like I find something new that I love about it! First, this place feels like a hug. Can't explain it- just come and see for yourself you'll understand. Their liquados are BOMB- made fresh to order with fresh fruit. My fave dish of theirs is their enfrijoladas; I'd never had this dish before coming here, and now I think about them OFTEN. Today was a super special visit tho- our serve Sam was really nice, helpful, and we even got to meet one of the owners, Nacho. The two of them made my partner and I feel like part of the fam. Vibes are immaculate and the food AMAZING! PS: ask for the salsa macha- it's liquid gold and made in house ‍

We came here for brunch and overall had a really good experience. I ordered the tres leches pancake and it was super fluffy and delicious, with a generous amount of berries that made it feel light and fresh. The breakfast burrito was huge and very filling, definitely a good option if you're really hungry. The vibe was casual and comfortable, perfect for a weekend brunch. Portions were generous and the food quality was solid. Parking was really hard to find on the weekend we went. A they only had a mocktail menu since they weren't serving alcohol, which was a bit disappointing. Overall Pradera is a great place for brunch, and I'd come back to try more of the menu.

Pradera is super cute -- I loved the colors and overall vibe. The space feels fresh and fun, and it's definitely a great spot for brunch with friends. Decided to stop by for brunch and it did not disappoint! I ordered the 3 leches pancakes and a vanilla iced latte, and both were amazing -- the pancakes were soft, perfectly sweet, and full of flavor, while the latte was smooth and refreshing. My sister got the pan de muerto French toast with atole de fresa, and it was just as delicious -- rich, comforting, and beautifully presented. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed brunch. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. VACA Brunch & Beyond was absolutely amazing! We didn't make reservations since the only times available on OpenTable were later in the afternoon, so we decided to walk in instead. They told us it would be about an hour wait, but we were seated in half that time. Once we were seated, our waitress Sam was incredible--very attentive, friendly, and on top of everything. I ordered the Chilaquiles and the Tres Leches Pancakes, and both were phenomenal! I can't wait to come back and try more items from their menu. They currently don't serve liquor, but the staff mentioned they'll be getting their liquor license in December--which is exciting! If you're like me and always wonder about parking: if you go before noon, you should have no trouble finding a spot. However, the plaza gets pretty packed in the afternoon, so be prepared for a crowd. Overall, I rate this place a solid 10/10--highly recommend for anyone who loves a good brunch spot with great food and even better service! read more

This place opened a week ago so they're still tweaking some things and the food was a little slow to come out BUT the food was so good that the wait did not matter. I got the chile relleno eggs benedict which was incredibly tasty. The hollandaise did not overpower the chile relleno, which was the star of the dish. My husband got chilorio con papas with scrambled eggs, which reminded me of a classic Mexican breakfast your best friend's abuela made for you. We will definitely be back to try the enchiladas. Generous portions-we could have shared. The owner of the restaurant was there and introduced himself to us-he was very sweet. I hope this place takes off! read more

I came here for brunch and everything was absolutely delicious. I ordered the tiramisu pancakes and chilaquiles (half red, half green) with a side of café de olla everything was beautifully plated and full of flavor! The pancakes were soft and sweet, topped with fresh berries and cream, and the chilaquiles were perfectly balanced between both sauces. Service was amazing Liz was our waitress and she was super attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance was cozy and the presentation of the food was stunning. Overall this place was very delicious! I would give 4.5 stars if I could! All of our food was amazing and service was great! We did order an appetizer we never received, but the server made sure to take it off the bill. Really wish we got to try the chicharron and guac, but I will order again when we go back! For drinks we got the Jamaica Fresa drink it was very refreshing! The strawberry matcha was on the sweeter side, and would recommend to mix the horchata matcha well before drinking! The restaurant itself was really cute, and I liked the setup a lot. It definitely feels like a good photo op spot, and the atmosphere was fun and welcoming. The food was good overall, but nothing super extravagant. It wasn't bland by any means, though I did feel like it could have used a little more flavor. The service was decent, and I don't really have any complaints there. Overall, it's a nice and visually appealing place, but the food didn't stand out enough for me personally. It's a great environment to grab lunch with anybody, the menu is great for all ages of the group whether it's family, friends or a date.... Find yourself trying something unique only Mexico can provide and being help by some outstanding staff, I wish I could tip everyone but I'm not rich haha. We attempted to have brunch. The wait time was only about 15 minutes to get a table but once we were sat no one came over to our table for over 10 minutes. Not even to offer water. And we're there with a newborn so we ended up leaving. There were several servers walking around talking and our section was pretty empty but seems we got forgotten in the shuffle read more

Liz! Thank you! For your great service and great food recommendations! To start we got the chocolate abuelita. Great! My mom and sisters ordered the strawberry and chocolate líquidos. They were good! The queso fundido, good. Next the buñuelo pancakes were DELICIOSOS and she also recommended the carne asada burrito, we got half red and half green. At this point zero management came to address this and zero servers as we asked for one . We were completely ignored . We were so hungry we just sat down desperate and starving. There was no omlette bar. (I was told on the phone there was an omlette bar before booking ) No sauces to go with any food. Dried up scrambled eggs and just a few dishes to choose from this 'buffet'. The ONLY salad dressings they had (2) were super sweet (no ranch) nothing . No flavor . Their non meat dishes were just one horrible dried up bean and grain pattie obviously frozen out of a box even an animal would never eat . It was that bad . Their 'replacement ' for almost zero dishes was a pancake ststion obviously to cut costs even more . The food was horrible . When you anticipate a special Mother's Day brunch that is horribly overpriced and get this in return its so disappointing and apalling .We were prepared to walk out after our bad news of no proper seating and terrible start but by then obviously we couldn't just go to another brunch on Mother's Day . Plus our other two guests were parking with a child so we were stuck. This was our only option or nothing. Its unbelievabke how am estsblishment can treat people like this especially on a soecial day like Mother's Day amd can command their pricing with no proper and safe seating for 4 with safe and healthy distancing with a fire pit as a SEAT. No apologies , no manager , nothing . just a terrible high bill, very little options and poor food quality . At best we should get a refund as this was false advertising and did not get a table for up to 4 . What an awful Mother's Day Brunch . We go out to eat EVERYWHERE around here but can't believe sonething like this can exist . So sad . This part of the day was ruined .

People who work here are always super nice and friendly - I just love coming to this place for my menudo fix!

I love this brunch place, although they don't have a large selection of vegetarian or pescatarian selections, I have to say it is still one of my favorite places to eat. I come here for the Mahi Mahi tacos. I've also had the chilaquiles and enjoyed it very much. Omg, I love the Banana Foster pancakes, which you can share with 3 other people as it's a 3 stack! I definitely recommend it if you like Banana Foster. I can't wait to take my friends here so I can have another taste of the pancakes. They have a large selection of drinks from fresh juices, specialty non-alcoholics, to frappes. I do like the Green juice here, it's fresh and tasty. I come here often because I find myself craving for the café de olla, which I'm very happy it's refillable. I just tried the Licuados with strawberry and banana, to my surprise is also very good. If you intend to come here, give yourself some time to wait as it is always busy. Patience is a virtue. But if you want to be seated right away, maybe plan ahead. I don't mind sitting at the bar counter, as it's much faster when you are by yourself or have one or two other people with you. Something to think about if you're not picky about where you are seated. This restaurant is connected to Northgate Mercado, which I think is a plus! You can do a little grocery shopping after or just walk around and admire what they have going on. The restrooms are located with in Mercad, just a short walk. Which I don't mind. I like the ambiance in here, the decor is nice and customer relaxing even though can get lots with everyone talking all at once. I can still hear the music and find myself vibing with it. The service is great so far, as I've had excellent service every time I come here. The servers are great and attentive. We had such a great brunch at Padera in Costa Mesa! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and the experience was even better thanks to our amazing server, Liz. Also we're greeted by the owners which was a nice experience. We started with the cheese plate, which was beautifully put together and a perfect way to kick off brunch. I had one of the worst dining experiences at VACA. After driving a long distance to try this place, I was forced to wait two full hours for a table. During that time, the hostesses at the front were completely unprofessional--gossiping, laughing, and ignoring waiting guests. It felt like customer service was the last thing on their minds. When I finally got seated, I was hoping the food would make up for the wait. Unfortunately, it was horrible. No seasoning, everything was burnt, and frankly, inedible. I couldn't even finish my plate--it was so bad I considered giving it to my dog instead. I rarely leave bad reviews, but this experience was unacceptable. VACA needs to seriously rethink its service and kitchen standards. I won't be coming back, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone! read more

Perfectly balanced, smooth, and exactly what you want to start your brunch. Now let's talk food. I ordered the brisket skillet with sausage and bacon (see picture), and wow. The brisket was unbelievably seasoned and packed with flavor -- tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. Every bite hit. I also tried the fresas con creama pancakes, and they were absolutely bomb. Stopped by this restaurant thinking it was still Vaca, then realized it had changed. Since we were already there, we decided to give it a try. It's primarily a breakfast/brunch spot with no alcohol. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing from the start. We waited about 10 minutes at the front without being acknowledged, and only got seated after my mom went inside to ask a server. Throughout the meal, our server kept forgetting items, and when I asked for the check, she began upselling a coffee mug, which felt inappropriate given the circumstances. The food was decent but not worth the price. The decor and seating area are nice, with plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor tables. Tried the new brunch spot Vaca at the NorthGate Mercado and loved it! The place is small but full of color, charm, and great vibes. We met one of the owners who was super friendly, talkative, and made us feel so welcome. We ordered the Café de la Olla with their conchas, both were amazing! The owner even brought us some cookies to try, and they were delicious. Their menu is big and everything looks so good. The Bananas Foster is definitely a must-try, and the chilaquiles were spot on. Food brought me back to Tepa. From the chocomil in the bag to the lengua en su jugo. I have mad respect for the menu being primarily in Spanish. Honestly , this is comfort food. Portions are bigger so u can share. Our server was attentive and welcoming. As first timers it took us a hot minute to figure out what we wanted but she was extremely patient and kind throughout. Pradera Brunch did NOT miss. The chilaquiles are hands down the best I've ever had -- full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The licuado came in a bolsa just like in Mexico, such a cool and authentic touch. We also ordered the tabla de quesos, which is basically a Mexican-style charcuterie board. Our server was nice and friendly and made sure we got our dishes okay after our friend mentioned being allergic to spice. She was very helpful and attentive to us. And the ambience is very nice here. We were seated outside and there's no music outside so it's easier to hear each other. The food was great I loved the egg white omelette the chicken was delicious. Since arriving to reserve a table all the staff was super friendly ! very quick wait time & so worth the wait! Our Waitress Sam was so attentive aside from such a busy Sunday Brunch!
