This is for the new waterfront location. My first visit in this recently opened establishment. I decided to start at the top of the menu and have the steak and mushrooms pie topped with gravy. While there was some gravy in my pie, more was a good choice. The shell is flaky and crisp with good deep brown top. It held some crunch through my meal, even with more gravy on top. The beef was tender and well seasoned. My only complaint would be not enough mushrooms. A minor issue. The decor is nice. Service was quick, but there is no crowd, yet. Everything was tasty, including the Berry pie. My only complaint is the portion size to price ratio. It's essentially the size of a Costco muffin, but for the premium price you're expect bigger. The lamb curry wasn't much of a curry and more of just like lamb and the it was overall dry. The services was quick and easy but the pies didn't meet our expectations. read more

The meat pies are seriously delicious. Very close to the space needle so no need to go far if you are coming from there. It is located inside a food court, but that doesn't make the food any less good. This place is known to me by another name: Heritage Meat Pies. I discovered them at the Flagstaff Celtic Festival and fell in love. Then I found out I could buy meat pies frozen by the dozen and eat them even after the festival was over and then I really fell for them. I missed the festival this year and my boyfriend suggested I see if they have a website and sell online. No such luck! But I found their Facebook page and learned they got to open a permanent space. (Congratulations!) I did just apply to vet school in Washington so this is just one more reason to cross my fingers and hope to get an admissions offer! The school isn't in the same city but it's a lot closer than AZ. These pies are that good! I always get shepherd's because I only saw these guys once a year and it's my favorite and the boyfriend likes the steak and mushroom. You can't go wrong picking this place to eat! read more

We tried two of the meat pies, one was chicken and the other was the Guiness one (I dont recall the exact name). Both were really tasty, flakey, not over cooked, but yet still crispy and flakey where it should be. Moist and tender on the inside. Sauces were really savory and tasty. If we were close to the Space Needle again, I would stop over here and get some Meat pies for sure. read more

Unfortunately I wasn't a fan of this place. It's located in a food court near The Armory. I got the beef and mushroom pie. It was quite small for $6.99 and I felt lacked something in the flavor and much of the inside was hollow. A few pieces of beef and literally two pieces of mushroom. I also tried the loaded mashed potatoes ($2.99) and for some reason thought it'd be a fun twist on it but it literally was a very small side of mashed potatoes with cheese, bacon and green onion on top. It was nothing special. Last but not least my BF got the berry pie it was extremely over priced at $6.99 for a pie smaller than the savory ones. Although pricey it was very tasty and wished they had it a la mode. Ice cream would have made it super yummy. In my opinion pass on this place and try something else, there are plenty of options nearby. $18 for small portions and we left like we ate an appetizer. read more

I literally just stood, right in front of the counter after ordering, for 20 min for my order. The girl at the counter finally asks me if I needed anything. I said yes, my curry lamb. What a delight it was to find these guys, I buy 4 dozen frozen just so that I can have them on hand. Coming from Dundee, Scotland these have to be the closest thing to a real Scottish Pie that you can buy here in America. Go to their shop, find them at a festival but get your hands on these pies, they are brilliant!! read more

This is one of those entitled "I'm in a tourist area" restaurants. Only stay in business because the clientele is constantly new. There are better meat pies on food trucks in the area. Dude behind the counter forgot about my order, lied and tried to say he put the food out for me. But I was standing there the entire time. It's just okay. I much prefer the pie shop that was there before (that is still thankfully in Fremont). The pies look decent but they are pretty bland. My husband and I tried the loaded mac and cheese and the shephards pie and the sausage roll. The sausage roll was the worst, with the strongest flavor being "gamey-ness." The shephards pie was just there (the next night I made shephards pie for dinner and I am not a gourmet chef and my husband said mine was much better/flavorful). Overall, I will pick somewhere else to eat in the Armory to eat next time. read more

My friend and I both ordered the steak and mushroom meat pie and it was pretty tasty! The sides were the bigger disappointment. I ordered the tot-tine which is tater tots used as a base for their version of poutine. Poutine is fries topped with gravy and cheese curds. So the tater tots were sprinkled with cheese curds, drizzled in gravy and topped with cheddar cheese. Sounds amazing right?? I swear those tots came straight out of the fryer and I watched them put under the lamp to melt the cheese, but the guy must have not known what he was doing. The shredded cheddar wasn't fully melted and somehow the hottest temparature was barely warm. Parts of it were downright near cold! Even more odd was the dish overall was bland. HOW?!?! Gravy, cheeses, tots.. how did they manage bland?! My friend got the broccoli coleslaw, which taste wise was good, but it had no broccoli in it! The meat pies weren't out of this world good, but they were decent, so I feel 3 stars is fair. read more

At the Armory and my family split to get food at different places. To be fair, after looking at reviews for the KABAB place next door, I'm glad I picked this. It's pretty okay. I got the sausage roll for about $7, which is more than I'd have paid for similar quality in the UK. By quality I mean the sausage was mostly cooked but well-seasoned, the pastry was flaky but not cooked all the way in the middle and a little crispy on one end. If I were here I might eat here again, but a quick walk a few blocks away have better food for better prices, so I'd probably just walk. read more

These are the real deal, I have enjoyed these pies for years at other venues. They are delicious and just the right size. I have been traveling in England and have found that these are very close to those I have had in pubs and shops for London to Galway. Stratford to Salisbury. ERMAHGURD! Meat pies year round!!! These pies are the bomb. The Scottish Meat Pie is my personal favorite, with the chicken coming a close second. Hold it in your hand, bite it, poke it with a fork. It's gone before you know it because it's just so tasty. For years they've been available at Dickens Fair and I wait all year to get them. YUM. I have been enjoying the pies these folks make for many years at the Great Dickens Christmas Fair here in San Francisco and at the Northern California Renaissance Faire in Hollister every year. I am a performer at both of these venues and I can tell you that as soon as they open their shop, I am in line to get the pies that I crave every year. My favorite is Shepard's pie but I also love the Cottage and Curry Lamb. Everything they make is delicious.
