There was so much hype about this place but it wasn't at all what the reviews portrayed. The coffee selection was ok ... what didn't impress me was the service. One of the girls was trying to be accommodating despite their limited selection of items but the other girl needed some help with her customer service skills. I merely asked if they had any crackers for their soup and I got an eye roll which actually put me off instantly. Also, the wifi is terrible. Everything here is above and beyond - service, ambiance, the coffee...I have zero complaints. The ambiance is unlike a normal coffee spot - there is tons of outdoor seating that's accompanied by a huge putting green that my kids went bonkers over. A corn hole court, and a ginormous beautiful waterfall feature wall. So many good places to sit and enjoy my coffee, it was hard to pick! I ordered a drink called an espresso shakerato which is 2 shots of espresso & a syrup of your choice shaken over ice so it's nice and frothy and ooooooh my goodness. Full warning, I have zero issues drinking espresso straight with no flavoring or milk, but if you've never tried espresso straight and you're curious then this is 100% the way you should try it! I wanted to like this place so badly, but it really just wasn't what I hoped it would be. The coffee selection was minimal. They do have seasonal drinks, but honestly, it didn't wow me either. If you're coming during the mornings, expect to wait and/or be extremely patient because there was only one girl working, so it was definitely backed up. I've been severely addicted since I was 12 and thus consider my palate to be more-than developed to give the utmost sincere and truthful reviews on coffee and the establishments that purvey this intense cure for boredom, aka the black sludge I currently am enjoying. COFFEE: 4 /5 Stars. Fairly Dark Roast. Not as dark as a certain big-brand chain, but certainly dark. This is a roast I prefer, and most who came here would probably think no different of its flavor. Nothing out of the ordinary going on here, which is good for maintaining consistency with their coffee as darker roasts are easier to reproduce time and time again. Hint of fruity flavor, but this is certainly not an "added" flavor but rather than natural flavor of the beans passing on towards your taste buds. Not bad, not extraordinary, pretty much bog-standard GOOD COFFEE. CUPS: 3 /5 stars. Not on size of course, but I was not offered "for-here" or "to-go" and was served in a classic-standard coffee cup. Today I ordered HOT, so no clear plastic, but even so-called "paper" coffee cups still have a plastic liner. If you did not already know, I have a personal vendetta against plastic. ATMOSPHERE: 3.5 /5 Stars. As Press & Moka shares their foot print with a high rise, their lounge space is limited on the inside. I was thankful to find a spot to work on the inside. I am here at 10:30am on a Friday. I would imagine it can be busier at times, but I am sure most of Press & Moka's customers are going to/from their offices in the adjacent office building. Clientele were respectful 20 and 30 somethings, mostly singles or if there were groups they were quiet. A very pleasant place to be, and for this reason MoonGoat is a 4/5 overall rather than a 3/5 overall. Minimalistic, clean, high-ceilings, yellow and gray color pattern, fairly new furniture, although the table I was using was a bit wobbly sadly. PRICE: 4.5 /5 stars My Americano was $3.25 which is 24% lower than standard Americano pricing in Socal. And as-is standard practice with me, I pay with a $5 bill and leave the change in the tip jar. This is usually enough to make the staff smile but not enough for me to expect anything more than standard service. SERVICE: 4 /5 Stars Staff is friendly, not mean. I overheard a woman who said her drink was incorrect and the barista was more than nice enough to allow her to keep the drink and also make her the correct drink, which was a nice interaction to observe from my view. And at the time of writing this review, the only coffee establishment I have ever been too that made me go WOW was the Starbucks reserve in Seattle, but even THAT I would not rate as 5 stars as Starbucks is one of the largest coffee chains in the world and I would expect them to make me go WOW. Most of the world's coffee shops are like Honda Civics, they function perfectly all the time and are very utlitarian, but when I get in a BMW I expect to be in a different-BETTER environment, starbucks reserve was like being in a BMW metaphorically speaking. But one day, I will be in a "Ferrari" of Coffee Shops, a "Bugatti" of Coffee Shops, a "Rolls-Royce" of coffee shops and at THAT point, I will award 5 stars. The sandwich was $14.50 which we knew and figured for a small shop coffee house but when we got the sandwich it was the smallest thing. It was a good sandwich but for that size it was way overpriced. I so was hoping this would not be the case since I just like black coffee on the Light Roast Side if your like me do not go here. Cute little coffee shop in a very unexpected location. My husband and I found this coffee shop on Yelp and came on a Saturday morning. We were confused at first when we got there because it's in a business complex and you have to park in a parking garage. Nevertheless, I ordered a flat white and a pastry. My coffee was delicious! The pastry tasted a little old, but all I really cared about was getting a quality coffee and that's exactly what I got. There's a lot of variety on the menu and I'd gladly come back here. My wife, mother and I stopped by here after visiting the Jack and Shanaz Langson museum. What a delightful coffee shop! We had a couple of drinks: an Espresso Glace (ice espresso) and a Bicerin, an Italian specialty drink. It's Italian sipping chocolate combined with espresso and warm milk. Both drinks were delicious! I came here on a Saturday for my usual Saturday morning coffee. The coffee shop itself was really cute. Lots of outdoor seating, some indoor seating, would be a great place to chat with friends or to study. They do validated parking so you don't have to worry about parking. I had the mushroom coffee, the chicken pesto sandwich, as well as a cinnamon cold foam coffee. I personally didn't like the mushroom coffee because of the monk sugar they used, but the coffee taste was very prominent. If you don't make the monk sugar I think it'd be something you would enjoy. The chicken peso sandwich was also decent. It'd be something I really enjoyed for a quick work lunch. When I first got the cinnamon cold foam coffee I really liked how light the cold foam was and thought it complimented the coffee well, but after a few sips I realized that the drink was just kinda milky with no coffee taste really. I talked to the barista and she said she could adjust the drink by adding some iced coffee, but to be honest it just made the drink really watery. All in all, I'd say my experience was average. I really appreciate the simplicity of the menu. It's to the point and not hard to figure out. I got my go to vanilla latte and it was great! I also got a caprese sandwich and it was so good too. Loved how the bread was crispy and soft. The cheese was so fresh and the tomatoes were very flavorful. The girls working were all very friendly and helpful! The inside seating was limited but there are a bunch of outdoor seating options! The location is located in an area where you need a parking ticket but they validate it for you and ask about it when you're ordering and there are also signs on the doors to remind you to! Went here for the first time and had high hopes based off of the reviews. When we first walked in we instantly felt uncomfortable as no one greeted us or said hello after a while and just stared at us. Just seemed like a lack of hospitality and warmth was missing. I got the egg nog latte, the latte didn't have any creaminess or texture to it and lacked flavor/spices. It truthfully just tasted like someone warmed up some milk on a stovetop and poured it in with espresso and lacked any taste.
