I hired them back in 2022 for my mom's house and they quoted for attic insulation removal, cleaning, rodent proofing, air sealing as well as for the crawlspace. I didn't have the budget back then to do the attic so I only did the crawlspace insulation, cleaning, and rodent proofing. Fast forward to now, I decided to finally get my mom's attic done with another company. When the guy came to check the crawlspace, it was completed by Pro Attic Restoration company but the guy at the time didn't clean it out or vacuum, sanitize, air sealing or rodent proof and only added the insulation. Years later, I am writing this review because it wasn't a thorough job. I shouldn't have to pay another company to finish the job that I had already paid for. On the positive, I do appreciate that they moved a bathroom vent to vent outside so it could be up to code back when they did the crawlspace. That was worth it. read more

A for Effort, C- for Execution - Damaged Ceilings Despite Hard Work I chose Pro Attic Restoration for two main reasons: I saw their crew working at a neighbor's house and they appeared professional, and they didn't make an issue out of the vermiculite insulation in my attic or require separate asbestos testing, since they handle that type of work. The crew (about seven people) definitely earned an A for effort. They worked hard all day and took real precautions to protect the house--laying down X-boards on the floors, using extensive plastic sheeting, and generally trying to contain the mess that comes with attic work. I also appreciated their responsiveness and willingness to address concerns as they came up. However, the execution didn't match the effort. When I asked to see the attic before the insulation was installed, we discovered that a roughly 3×4 ft triangular hole had been accidentally created in the bathroom ceiling. They offered to patch it, but proper drywall repair involves multiple steps (compound, drying, sanding, and painting), and we weren't confident the texture or finish would blend seamlessly with the existing ceiling. We declined the repair and asked for a discount instead. The discount offered--about $150--felt insufficient given the extent of the damage and inconvenience. The following day, we also noticed new cracks in other areas of the ceiling, as well as a noticeable dent in a section that had been recently replaced--issues that were not present before the work began. Overall, the team worked hard and made genuine efforts to protect the home, but the lack of proper attic planking and the resulting ceiling damage significantly impacted the final outcome. I'd rate the experience a C or C- overall: strong effort and good intentions, but quality control and execution fell short of expectations. read more

David did an amazing job just from the time he came to give me an estimate. He found the reason why my house was having a sewage smell, after plumbers, pg&e, and the HVAC were called and couldn't find the issue. It was from mold in the insulation of my crawl space. I got multiple quotes from other companies who gave higher pricing and also didn't find the same issue with the moldy batting. I haven't had the smell since after he fixed it. It's been 2 months since installation of the duct system with AC and heating with thicker batting upgrade insulation in the attic and it's been up a life saver in this heat wave. David gave a fair price for my system and told me where I could save money and what was more worth it to spend on. The system that cools down the JADU in the garage and the house separately works great! The whole installation took only 2 1/2 days to instal! Pro Attic Restoration did an excellent job getting my attic back to working condition as it has never been worked on since the house's construction in the 70s. Easy to make an appointment for an estimate. They took the time to go into the attic to evaluate needs and promptly gave me a reasonable itemized quote the next day. We scheduled a day for the whole team to come out to get the attic cleaned, rodent proofed, re-insulated, and replace all the old ducts including updating the dozen or so vents throughout the house. My attic is extremely narrow and having been up there myself, it's not easy crawling up there with all the water pipes and electricals too. The team worked hard all day and ended a few hours later than expected due to the tight attic space, but they did an excellent job. I'm writing this review now, 2 years later, because I recently had HERS tester come do a leakage test of the ductwork they installed, and he said it was solid work! read more

I contacted Pro Attic to have a bathroom ceiling fan vented to the outside. Eduardo was my contact, and I had him scope out the attic when he came over. He found the insulation looking thin in several areas, with the attic in a dingy state including rodent droppings and a wasp comb. Not wanting my attic to continue being a Mardis Gras for pests, I decided to have Pro Attic clean it up and install new R38 insulation. I had the choice between CertainTeed and Knauf EcoBatt insulation, and I opted for the latter after many questions to Eduardo. I also had him update the estimate to mention faced instead of unfaced insulation, as I'd done some research and decided that faced might be better. He did so without increasing the total cost (faced is slightly more expensive). What went well during installation: * The crew worked quickly and had everything done in several hours * They put plastic sheets over the work area and hallway, and they mindfully put on shoe covers to avoid tracking dirt through the house. The interior was spotless when they were done * Eduardo showed me pictures, and I also inspected the attic and roof. It looked like the crew did a thorough job with cleaning and sealing the attic, installing baffles, and laying insulation evenly. They also seem to have done a good job in weather-proofing the vent they installed on the roof * The crew sealed a hole under the roof leading into the garage (not part of the attic), and installed screens on my plumbing vents, work that they were not obligated to do * They brought a new ceiling fan to replace my old one without charging me for it What could've been better: * The fact that I'd asked for faced insulation was not communicated to the crew, and they had brought unfaced. I then spoke with Eduardo and he told me that unfaced was standard for installs in the area, and asked if I would accept the aforementioned ceiling fan as compensation, which I agreed to * Though they cleaned up relatively well, I found a couple nails and a screwdriver left over after the crew had left. This is probably minor as far as big jobs go All said, I'm pretty happy with the results, and our home has retained heat noticeably better after the new insulation was put in. The price was reasonable, and though Pro Attic charges a 1.89% fee for credit cards, it's a lower fee than what many other contractors charge. 4.5 stars overall for the service and work they provided, and I would definitely use them again for future work. read more

I am writing this review as a follow-up to the great service Pro Attic Restoration has provided. David was the point of contact. He came out to give an estimate for attic cleaning and insulation in the summer of 2020. He was very professional and reasonable on the pricing. I had hired Pro Attic to clean out my attic and install insulation last summer. David and his team did a fine job. I even had David check my dryer vent cap and he even offered to replace the vent cap to the correct size free of charge. I was happy with the services that I decided to hire him and his team back to install the central AC and heat in September of 2020. The HVAC installation went smoothly because David was very accomodating to his customer. For example, we had to make room for the AC unit in the back yard so the old water heater had to be disconnected and thrown away. Also, there were two wall heaters and 1 wall AC which were all removed as well. His team was able to haul away all of it and then some additional junk items as well! I was very grateful for David's willingness to satisfy the customer. Fast forward to August 2021, I contacted David because my AC filter needs to be replaced. Keep in mind that David is a super busy guy. Although his response was not immediate, he came through to replace the air filter and even vacuumed the dryer vent when I asked him about it. To sum up, I would definitely recommend David and his team for all your attic and HVAC needs. He is professional, friendly, and courteous. We had a ton of debris in the attic after a roof replacement. This was on top of ancient insulation and knob-and-tube electrical wiring. The Pro Attic team was quick to respond to our call for help and took the time to really understand our needs, which included attic clean up, sealing all gaps, re-insulation, installation of an attic fan, construction of a storage space, and installation of a ladder into the attic. They scheduled the clean-up early, so that our electricians could replace the wiring unhindered. It was immaculate when they were all done! The electricians even commented that this was the cleanest attic they have ever worked in. They came back when the electrical work was done to compete the project. We now have a beautiful storage space in a sea of thick insulation; see photos. We could already tell the difference in terms of house temperature from day one! He is reasonable and thorough and when we noticed something that needed to be addressed he came back to within a few days to take care of it. Above and beyond are words that don't even do the job they did justice. We bid out an asbestos removal and replacement of the ducting in our attic to various different places. They all came in around the same range, but Pro Attic was by far the most professional, responsive and engaged. They estimated the job would take two days and the guys got it done in one day! Not only were they incredible respectful of our home and cleaning up, they made sure that we were satisfied before taking payment. We were out of town at the time and they gave me a week grace period to come back and inspect the work, which was very honorable. That wasn't the best part... And the reason for me writing this review. Two months later our doorbell stopped working and we had our security company come out to check it. That service professional blamed it on Pro Attic that they must have 'stepped on the wire' or altered the power, as it was working fine until the job was done. I called Pro Attic and David came out the next day! He inspected the attic and determined the transformer had died. Without me even asking what I could do, he went out to his truck and REPLACED the transformer for me! The doorbell is back online and I asked if I could pay him - which he said NO! It is very rare that you have such a positive experience with contract workers around the house (we have remodeled and hired 15 contractors probably over the last 2 years). Through all our experience, Pro Attic takes the cake and David is one of the BEST IN THE BUSINESS! We had our very old, dirty, ineffective insulation removed and replaced in July by Pro Attic. During the process of this project, I learned that there is huge variation in quoted prices for attic insulation, so getting at least a few is really important in order to compare. Also, some of the quotes were from companies with pressure sales tactics--also something to be on the lookout for. From quote to execution, these guys and gals were great. On the day of the job, the team came and worked almost nonstop from 9 to 5 to complete the job (2400 sq ft home). They prepared the access to the work are with a plastic sheet tunnel so that the house remained impeccable. After they left, it was impossible to see that we had had this large project completed. The effects of the new insulation (R-38) were immediate. We don't have A/C, and even in the hottest days of this summer, the house never got above 75 degrees, and it also "felt" much cooler not having that hot ceiling radiating down onto us. Now it's mid October, and we just started using the furnace again. Amazing--after the house heats up in the morning, the furnace doesn't need to cycle on and off to maintain the temp. I'm sure that won't be the case when it gets really cold outside, but the comparison to before the job is striking. When we got our new composite roof a few years ago, replacing our old wood shake roof, we should have done the insulation then--it would have been easier. At that time, we were really surprised by how much the new roof made our house hotter during the summer--the composite roof doesn't breathe like the wood shake. My guess is that a lot of people getting new roofs may come to the conclusion that they then need to install A/C. But new insulation worked for us, and it doesn't use any electricity :). If you have bad attic insulation, replace it and you won't regret it. Wish we had done it sooner, and this outfit made it a "success story". read more

These people are the real professional! They just did removal of insulation in our whole house today and they did such an amazing job! They were very respectful, very professional, very prompt and they do very well and they mean business! Of all we contacted they were the ones who promptly answered my inquiry especially cost estimate unlike other companies who did not want to give you price and would say they need to see the house first! I get it that they need to see the scope of work but I am only asking for ballpark price on insulation removal so I would have idea regarding my budget and Pro Attic Restoration gave me the best price and were able to the job the next day but I had them come in the day after which is today and what they quoted me is what I paid for! Luis responded to my Yelp request on a Saturday night and was able to come out Sunday morning to look at our attic insulation, which had suffered water damage earlier this year and the rooms were getting 5-10 degrees warmer than the other rooms during these summer days. He went into the attic, took some pics and showed me what I needed. He pointed out what was mission critical and what would be nice to have. I did all the mission critical stuff that needed to be done, which was the insulation and adding an attic fan, and all done quickly and at a very competitive price. Now all the rooms in our 2500+ sq ft home are all within 1-3 degrees (depending where the sun is). I could not be happier with the quality of work, honesty and competitive pricing. The venting duct for our range hood was damaged by rodents. I contacted Pro Attic and Luis was able to come very quickly. It turned out our previous contractor incorrectly used Flex ducts which can be easily damaged. Luis proposed replacing Flex with metal ducts and finished the work quickly and nicely.
