We found bees going into a roof defect on my 2nd floor. Jon from Pro Pacific came promptly and was very professional. He got a ladder and went to the roof and started examining the situation. He then went into the house where you would expect them to be in the walls. Jon turned out to be a guy who has studied bees and knows much about them. I contacted this company based on a reference from a friend. Come to find out, they did not have a licensed tech to get rid of my German roaches and couldn't refer me to another company. HOWEVER, the gentleman on the phone did tell me that I should look for a company who had a LICENSED tech to treat the roaches. He also went on to tell me that the treatment should last 3-4 weeks and if I am told otherwise, I am being given wrong information. He gave me a rough estimate of cost that I should expect based on what's required to kill these little suckers. I contracted with Pro Pacific Pest Control, 4 visits, to eliminate what they called a serious Rat infestation under my house in the crawl space. We called because we couldn't locate a smell in our house. We had told the guy who did the initial inspection that we had the service performed 10 years earlier and that there might be old evidence of rats, but we had heard any noise recently. He insisted they were new droppings he was seeing and we agreed for them to set up 12 traps and check them weekly for a cost of $300. Over 4 weeks they trapped ZERO rats or mice. The other two guys who came out to check the traps said he couldn't see any signs of recent rat droppings only very old ones. So to say the least I'm very unhappy with the service I received and would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

This was one of the worst services I have ever received. They promised that they would call first to make an appointment before stopping by to do our service calls. I have children and small dogs and wanted to have everyone out of the house for a few hours after the service call so my children and animals didn't get sick. They never did this, they always just showed up. When I sent them away and asked that they make an appointment, they never did and didn't ever come back, this went on for 9 months; however, I continued to receive bills for service I never received. I was harassed by their collections calls when I asked for a manager to contact me so we could get this all straightened out. In the end, I just paid to get out of my contract even though they broke the contract by not fulfilling their end of the deal and providing me with pest control service. No one in their accounting department or management knows what they are doing, they never return calls and they leave you on hold for 10-20 min and when they come back they still don't know what they are talking about. I was always told that they would have someone contact me who could help me and that never happened. Worst run company I have ever dealt with! Steve is my technician I see every other month and he consistently does a really thorough job with a " what more can I do for you ?" attitude. Recently Andrew came over because I thought we had a rat problem and he took care of things with the same above and beyond service. Their Customer Service department is very responsive and great to work with too. PRO PACIFIC PEST CONTROL ~ I live in La Mesa and for the first time in 22 years had rats in the attic. I could hear them running laps up there. A friend's son went up there to check things out. He was up there about 30 minutes and found droppings to confirm rats. He put up 2 traps baited with peanut butter under and over the peddle of the trap. Next day, we had 2 dead rats in the traps. He put up another 2 traps. I heard one go off for sure, but my friend's son was back in Illinois and wouldn't be able to help me this time. I detected a slight smell up there and knew I had to do something soon. Luckily, the weather has been very cold here, so the decomposition and smell was a little retarded. So, I did some research on line for someone good to come out.and take care of the situation for good. I'm a member of Angie's List so I checked there first and found a special for a couple of places. There was a $195 Rodent Abatement Package (normally $249) with All Cities Pest Control, so I contacted them. They sent someone out the next day, he was on time and very nice. However, he was extremely reluctant to actually go up into the attic and check things out. At first he said he didn't smell anything, but after about 10 minutes of getting him to get up there, he said he did smell a faint odor. He was only up there for about 5 minutes. He said he didn't see any traps and didn't see any rats in traps. And down he came. That was it! He said he couldn't see where the traps could now be and that he could not lift up any of the insulation to check for the trap or the dead rat. I was incredulous! He said he could set some more traps and then his company would monitor them (I had 5 visits total with the Angie's special), and would know where the traps they put were, but would do nothing about finding the dead one(s) up there. I told him I was very, very disappointed and was not going forward with anything else with All Cities. He still was very nice, but my problem was still a BIG problem re the dead rat(s) and odor. I also asked him about installing new insulation up there. He gave me an exorbitant quote. I was done with that company. So, I went back to the computer and did some more investigation. I found a company in La Mesa and Escondido, family owned, and had some good feedback, so I called them. They are PRO PACIFIC PEST CONTROL. They came out on time the next morning @ 9:00 a.m (Friday). Javier was very personable. I told him the situation. He went right up into the attic, and FOUND one dead rat in the trap almost immediately! He said he just followed the smell. Javier did a thorough inspection of the attic, although he didn't find the other rap, but at least the smell is gone now. He was VERY knowledgeable about rats and their habits. He found 3 spots in the attic that rats could potentially enter, and one at ground level by the door accessing the crawl space under the house. He examined the crawl space and found more droppings. Bottom line, I signed the contract with Javier and Pro Pacific Pest Control. Javier set about 12 traps in the attic and also under the house. I heard 2 go off last night. They are coming out on Tuesday to patch up the holes and check the traps. I also contracted with them to install TAP insulation up in the attic as well. Their cost was over 1/3 LESS than quoted by All Cities! I also asked Javier about bees because about a year or so ago, I had a bee problem and called a "relocate live bee" company. Well, they didn't relocate. They said the bees were too angry so they killed them all. I didn't know then, but it is much cheaper to kill them than to relocate them. The bee company should have given me a break on the price, since it was less expensive and troublesome for them to just kill the bees. It was also so sad that the bees had to be killed. I was shocked this had to be done. In any event, it cost $1,000 and I feel it was way over priced. Also, the cost included them "bee proofing" the house. If they had done their job thoroughly, they would have seen the 3 access areas that Javier found and I probably would not have this rat problem now. The areas Pro Pacific will patch are also areas for bee access to my home. Bottom line, I am extremely pleased and feel safe with hiring Pro Pacific Pest Control. I didn't actually have work done by these guys. I didn't need to, and that's the point. I called because I had (what I thought was) a giant bee hive in my tree. Steve came out and within 30 seconds he told us that the bees were just pollinating, there was no actual hive, and there was no threat to our family (which includes two small children and a dog.) Honest. They are HONEST. At least Steve is, and since he works for this company, I hope the rest of the employees are too. Steve solved a problem that we've been battling off and on for 10 years in our attic. At this point I post, 'Liked It,' in a few weeks I might want to change to 'Loved It.' My reason for this is that as far as I can tell our pest issue has been resolved. If the pests don't reappear, I will be extremely happy. Before calling Pro Pacific we tried over the counter traps, foggers, bait, etc.....These seemed to work a bit, and then 3-4 weeks pass and little by little we had some issues again. i called these guys, they were responsive. however when i learned removal means killing the bees, i looked for another solution. i found honeybee rescue! pete holtzen came to our apartments same night, smoked them all out(amazing to watch) and took all bees home to be safe and make honey. we have a bee decline problem in this world, didn't want this nest of 12,000+ to die because they made a home outside our apartment. pete sent me photos, and his fee was less than other 'removal' prices. no harmful pesticides for kids in apartments either!! read more

After paying for the initial service call for an apartment building I signed up for a 12 month bi-monthly service (tech was a good salesman). The contract stated that there would be 6 remaining service calls that would complete the 12 month cycle. I asked the tech to notify me on the days he completed the service on the property which he said he would. The tech never called on the service days as promised so I even have my doubts he visited the property as contracted (as additional pest issues continued). After the 6th service 12 months later, I cancelled the service. I then began receiving collection calls stating I owed for an additional service call. No invoices, just pestering calls. I asked to speak to the owner of the company and was told he or she would get back to me which they never did. I didn't hear anything for several weeks until a collection agency sent me a letter. Bottom line is that the service is below average and their accounting is BS. The BBB has multiple complaints regarding their accounting and collection practices. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM ON A CONTRACT FOR MONTHLY SERVICE. read more
