Crow or raven in gutter..Project Wildlife helped!
    Alex D.

I called Project Wildlife on a Tuesday at 6:45 PM because I saw a crow or raven sitting in a gutter of my neighborhood for a few hours, not moving (but still alive). I called and the woman on the phone was so nice. She asked me a bunch of questions about the bird and my location, then she educated me that it was probably a fledgling, explaining that they are often awkward and don't know where to land, so the bird is probably fine and getting to know the world. Turns out she must've been right because once I got a certain distance of closeness to the bird, it finally flew away! I apologized because I felt like I bothered them for nothing, but she said she was glad I called, and said it was better to call than not! She thanked me, and that was really nice. I am so grateful she was kind and took the time to educate me about fledglings! Thank you Project Wildlife!

 A statement to live by.

I had the pleasure and honor to have been taken on a tour of Project Wildlife Facility. They are a first rate facility located in Ramona with a deep love for animals. Both the tour guides I had were extremely nice and knowledgeable and people we can across were happy to be there. Racoons were my favorite (the masked monkeys). Even the animals seemed happy to be there. The campus has a Hospital and beautiful office. The enclosures were made comfortable for the animals during their rehabilitation stay. All of the animals they are tending to are of great importance to the staff. Thank you again for a wonderful tour Andy and Elissa!

These guys are great. For some reason in the last six weeks I have come across two sick birds and i took them here. Both were in bad shape, the first was a crow i thought might be able yo be saved. But i asked about his outcome when i took the pigeon in. Turns out, he had a disease that was treatable but he was past the point of being able to be treated. I took a pigeon in and he was clearly going to die. They told me right away that the bird needed to be euthanized. I am an animal lover and it is hard to see animals suffer. Taking sick animals here to be euthanized is really the most humane way. They have tons of animals they save and bring back to health so i am not saying they only euthanize animals here. However, it was comforting for me to have these animals euthanized rather than see them continue to suffer. Keep providing this service guys.

    I know I'm a carnivore and eat a lot of animals, but I do love animals too. (I know, I'm a total hypocrite...kind of like Hillary and The Donald?) This non-profit runs an army of volunteers to rehabilitate injured wildlife throughout San Diego. So if you come across an injured animal, bring them here! If you ever run into injured animal and can safely get, take it here! There's even a drop off area after hours...you can bring also sorts of injured critters, such as: Rabbits and Bunnies ___________@@@ _________@ //////@@@__________________@@ _______@////////////////@_______________@ ////@@ ______@/////////// @///// @____________@///////////@@ _____@//////////////@///////@_________@/////////////////@ _____@//////////////@ @///////@______@//////@///////////@ ______@///////////@ _ @/////////@@@@//////////@/////////@ _______@/////////@ __@////////////////////////////@//////////@ ________@/////@ ___@///////O////////O//////////@//////////@ _________@//@ ___ @/////////////@///////////////@//////////@ __________@_____@//////////////////!////////////@@/////////@ _________________@/////////////////W/////////@ _@///////@ ___________________@//////////////////////@ ____ @//@ _____________________@///////////////@_________ @ ____________________@//////////////////@ ___________________@//////////////////////@ __________________@//////////////////////////@ _________________@///////@@//////@@//////@__@@@@ ________________@/////@///////@@//////@/////@@/////@ ________________@//////@//////@@//////@//////@///////@ _________________@///////WW/////WW////////@///// @ Deer... ________________________¶¶ _______________________¶__¶ _______________________¶___¶ _______________________¶____¶ _________¶¶¶¶¶_________¶____¶ _________¶__¶¶¶¶¶¶_____¶____¶ _________¶____¶¶__¶¶___¶____¶___¶¶ __________¶_____¶¶__¶¶_¶____¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ___________¶______¶¶__¶_¶¶¶¶____¶¶¶ ¶¶¶_________¶¶______¶__¶¶__________¶¶ ¶__¶__________¶¶¶____¶¶________¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶___¶__________¶¶¶¶_______________¶ ¶__¶_____________¶________¶_¶¶¶___¶ _¶_¶_____________¶_______¶_¶_¶¶___¶ _¶¶______________¶_________¶_¶¶___¶ _¶_¶_____________¶_________¶¶¶_____¶¶¶ _¶_¶_____________¶__¶__________¶¶____¶ _¶_¶______________¶___¶________¶_¶¶__¶ _¶__¶_____________¶____¶¶_______¶¶¶¶¶ __¶__¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶____¶¶______¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ___¶_________¶¶¶¶¶¶________¶ __¶________________________¶ __¶________________________¶ __¶________________________¶ ___¶________¶_________¶¶___¶ ____¶_______¶___¶______¶__¶¶¶¶¶¶ __¶¶_______¶____¶______¶¶¶_____¶ _¶______¶¶¶¶¶¶¶_¶_____¶¶¶¶¶¶¶___¶ __¶___¶¶__¶__¶_¶¶¶___¶______¶__¶ ___¶__¶____¶__¶__¶__¶____¶¶¶__¶ ____¶__¶____¶__¶ ¶__¶___¶¶__¶¶ ____¶__¶_____¶¶¶¶¶__¶___¶¶¶¶ ____¶¶¶¶______¶¶¶¶__¶ ____¶¶¶¶__________¶__¶ ___________________¶¶¶¶ ___________________¶¶¶¶ Birds of all types _________________________________________¶¶¶¶¶¶ ____¶¶¶______________________________¶¶¶¶___¶¶ ___¶¶__¶¶¶___________________________¶¶¶____¶ ___¶_____¶¶¶¶______________________¶¶______¶¶ ___¶________¶¶¶¶_________________¶¶______¶¶ __¶¶___________¶¶¶¶_____________¶¶______¶¶ __¶¶______________¶¶¶¶¶¶_______¶_______¶¶ __¶¶___________________¶¶¶___¶¶________¶¶ ___¶_____________________¶¶__¶_____¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ___¶¶____________________¶¶_¶_____¶¶___ö_¶¶¶ ____¶¶_____________________¶¶¶¶¶¶¶________¶¶¶¶ ______¶¶________________________________¶¶¶ _______¶¶¶______________________________¶¶ __________¶¶¶¶_________________________¶¶ ______________¶¶______________________¶¶ _______________¶¶¶¶¶¶________________¶¶ _¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶____________________¶¶ __¶______________________________¶¶¶¶ ___¶¶________________________¶¶¶¶¶ ____¶¶_______________¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ______¶¶¶¶_____________¶¶ _________¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ Squirrels --------------------------$$$$$$ ------------------------$$.......$$$ ---------------------$$$..........$$$ -------------------$$$.............$$$ -----$*-$*-------$$................$$$ -----$.$..$------$$..................$$ -----+$.$$$----$$...................$$ ---+*......$$----$$..................$$ --$............$$---$$................$$ -$...O........$$$$................$$ $................$$$:...............$$ $$................$$$$............$$ --*$$$................$$..........$$ ------$................$$...........$$ -----$.....$$............$.........$$ ------$..$....$$..........;$......$$ ----$$$$$......$........;$......$$ --------$................;$.....$$ -------$$.....................$$ -------$$$..................$$ ----$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ And...many other wild animals too! We found a injured bird being attacked by crows outside of my office and wanted to help but did not know what to do. After entering a google search for "what do to when you find an injured bird", the Project Wildlife website came up and we are sooooo glad it did! First we got the very helpful hotline, and then we were able to get ahold of a volunteer. Keep in mind this was at 7:30pm. These volunteers are extremely helpful, knowledgeable and dedicated to helping the unfortunate wildlife that find themselves in dire straits. I'm so amazed that a place like this exists and very thankful for the hard work the volunteers do. THANK YOU! - Tamara Cross

This is neither an animal shelter nor a pet store (why is this filed under those categories? I attempted to recategorize but the recategorization didn't stick. Yelp?) This is a non-profit organization that rehabilitates and provides medical services and care for native injured wildlife.

He was professional, fast and efficient - took photos and explained everything again. So we finally bit the bullet and called someone who removes wildlife. Joey came out and explained exactly how gophers operate, and set traps, then said the process was that for one price he would come four times, a week apart, and check the traps and see what they get. As it turned out they only caught two gophers, but that seems to have done the trick. I did not want him to toss God's creatures in the trash, so he put the dead gophers back in the ground for me. And then he put castor oil around, to repel them. He said I should continue doing that. So he gave me a way to continue to repel them on my own, which is good. Joey was very personable, and seems to know EVERYTHING about the wild critters that make their way into suburban back yards. I would call them again if we have problems again. Well done.

The price is NOT worth the low amount of work they performed. I called them due to rats being active in my home and they scheduled an appointment. Once they came out the first guy was nice and was quick to setup traps but he did not seem super knowledgeable. He did hand me some extras to put outside if I spotted them in my shed. After this it went downhill. The next technician came out and he took away a rat in the attic and I asked him if he saw the holes the 1st guy mentioned and he was confused. He said there were no entry points in the attic which was a relief as I just had a new roof installed. He hesitantly admitted the technicians don't talk to one another and he doesn't know what happened the 1st visit. He was just here to remove the dead body and reset the trap. After that it was hard to schedule an appointment and they once even didn't show up. My tenant had an even harder time as a technician said he didn't want to perform work here anymore and refused and left. We had a 3rd technician come out and he said he could walk around and try to identify where they are coming in from. Once we found a new entry points he said it would be a few thousand dollars to seal them up and at that point I should hire them to remove all the insulation in the attic. I said no and I already saw ads to have my insulation removed for a few hundred dollars. He said that's not possible and to show proof that it was true. I said no and he said I must not have read the ad right and left. It was also incredibly hard to cancel the membership fee. It took several emails to finally get it through I didn't want them anymore. Stay away!!
