    Onion Rings

This place is delicious. Simple menu, quality chicken and fresh sides. Some of the best onion rings I've ever had. Don't sleep on their herby ranch. It has a vinegar kick that cuts the greasy ness of the chicken that makes it even more mouth watering

I was in the area and my friend told me there was a good fried chicken place nearby. He was craving it, so we decided to give it a try. There is outdoor seating outside the restaurant. Once you walk in, you'll see a kiosk near the cashier area. Order through the kiosk and pick up a number sign. Once you've placed your order, find a table and wait for your food. Since we had something to eat earlier, we decided to order a chicken combo to share. The combo comes with three pieces of chicken and we added a side of potato wedges. I had the drumstick and honestly, I didn't like it. The crust was thick and hard, rather than crispy like Popeyes or Jollibee's. The meat wasn't very juicy either. I wouldn't drive here just for the fried chicken but if I'm in the area and craving fried chicken, I might come back. There is street parking but it can be challenging to find a spot sometimes. If you drive around the residential area, though, you should be able to find a parking space.

Happy to return and try more! I like that the menu is relatively simple and you just have to pick sandwich, salad, or entree ... then fried, flipped, or fake. easy enough? it's so wonderful the sides are already set for each style you pick so I dont have to think much more. I admit I suffer from decision fatigue sometimes takeout- 1) fried chicken sandwich came with a spicy slaw which adds a nice crunch. the menu says you get sage potato chips with the sandwich, which was forgotten and not packed into my box so i didnt get to try it. was delightfully surprised they packed all the sauces in little containers too to go with the sandwich - how thoughtful! I love the variety of sauces! 2) I really like the fried entree. the batter is so crunchy! prime lunch time wait for food on a weekday about 10 mins after ordering service was friendly and kind. Happy I discovered this spot from In Kind

Fried Chicken Salad ($17.23 including tax).

Proposition Chicken checks some boxes: It's a comfortable spot for a solo diner and, if you stick with a single entree, the price is reasonable for San Francisco. As much as I desired fries or onion rings as an accompaniment to my Fried Chicken Salad ($17.23 pre-tip) the added cost kept me from getting either. This proved a good thing as the salad was deceivingly filling. It's clear that Proposition Chicken knows how to fry. The chicken bites in my salad were perfectly executed and tasted quite good, especially when dipped in a cup of hot sauce. Yes, this was a salad but I thought it more interesting as fried chicken. Though the ingredients tasted fresh I wasn't a huge fan of the kale/mint/romaine/cuke/tomato profile of the salad and thought the chicken was doing the heavy lifting. Admittedly, this comes down to personal preference but as a person who generally loves salads I'd probably look to another part of the menu for future orders. Despite the fast-food vibe of the space I left not feeling like I'd consumed fast-food fare, a plus in my book.

vegan fake chicken sandwich and fries

I had a really great vegan sandwich from here while volunteering at Stern Grove festival. They call the sandwich fake chicken but it's just fried tofu. I really liked the vegan spicy slaw they use as a topping. My sandwich also came with a side of their sage fries, I liked the sage flavor however I ate this after it had been sitting for a few hours so the fries weren't crispy anymore, but I imagine they're probably pretty good if you have them fresh. They also had gluten free options, and everything was very clearly labeled. Really cool of this place to support the festival by providing food.

Flipped Chicken Salad with Sweet Buttermilk Biscuit

The main 3 entrees (plate, sandwich, salad) are usually pretty consistent choices. I've had all three and the chicken was juicy and had great flavor. I usually order the Brussels sprouts along with my meal which is also consistently delicious with the amazing sweet glaze. The only coin flip here is the biscuits; Some days it's the best biscuit I've ever had: with a hot crispy sweet glazed exterior and a moist interior while other days: it's dry, lukewarm, and has no crisp. Overall, the place is 4.5 stars, great place for a fast lunch or dinner.

I've been to other locations of this popular chain, which offers a value proposition based on a panoply of poultry options. Oh yes, I've had their chicken fried, flipped, in salad bowls, and as wings and strips. All the choices I had made were quite satisfying, but I had never tried their "fake" option. I decided to take advantage of a location I had never been and ordered the $14.75 Fake Chicken Salad. Yes, they actually call it that because it's their veggie option. The chicken was replaced by Crispy BBQ Tofu, though the rest of the salad had their familiar ingredients - kale, romaine, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, mint, shredded Parmesan, and their house Parmesan dressing (Photo 8). It didn't quite work because I think the sweet BBQ sauce was at odds with the salty Parmesan flavor. I did violate my veggie meal with the $6.50 cup of Bone Broth (Photo 7), but the deep flavor made the poultry detour worthwhile. FOOD - 3 stars...the BBQ sauce didn't quite cut it for me, though the crispy tofu was a nice alternative AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...pretty much the same layout as the other locations SERVICE - 3 stars...a bit on automatic pilot TOTAL - 3 stars...back to poultry for me RELATED - Exploring the Sunset? Fried Chicken Salad with Kale, Romaine, Cucumbers, Cherry Tomatoes, Mint, Shredded Parmesan, Black Pepper Parmesan Dressing
    Mike L.

Back when I first heard that the Lemonade that was here had closed, I was bummed out. Not so much because of them folding, as my one and only visit never gave me a reason to return, but because I worried their fairly prominent space along West Portal would sit empty for an extended period of time. Thankfully, those fears never really came to fruition and even only added to my excitement to see that Proposition Chicken was going to be moving in! While I try to make it a point to support mom-and-pop restaurants, it's awesome to see one of my go-to chicken spots show one of my favorite neighborhoods some love! Inside, the look and feel of this place is as different as it is familiar. The former because it hardly resembles Lemonade and their cafeteria-style set-up; the latter because the current decor is practically identical to the Proposition Chicken in Laurel Village. However, one thing that this location has to offer is their patio/outdoor seating, which is terrific on sunny days and warm autumn nights. As for the menu, it has all of the same enticing options - salad, entree, or sandwich options with your choice of fried chicken, roasted chicken, or fried tofu, a solid mix of wings, strips, and sides, and breakfast sandwiches (served until 11am) for anyone dropping in to start their day. -- FLIPPED CHICKEN SALAD - Slow Roasted Chicken, Kale, Romaine, Cucumbers, Cherry Tomatoes, Mint, Shredded Parmesan, Black Pepper Parmesan Dressing...$14.75 A little different from what I remember, but not in a bad way. Rather than the shreds of rotisserie chicken that I recall getting before, this one came with small chunks of roasted chicken instead. A little drier in that sense, but I liked the nicely browned crust on them. -- FRIES with Crispy Sage and Malted Mayo...$4 While not quite as good as the first time I had this before, this was still pretty solid. Sadly, the fries weren't quite as crispy this time (they felt thicker than I remember), but they were still nicely seasoned and not too oily. -- FRIED CHICKEN SALAD - Fried Chicken with Signature Herb & Spice Blend, Kale, Romaine, Cucumbers, Cherry Tomatoes, Mint, Shredded Parmesan, Black Pepper Parmesan Dressing...$14.75 Pretty good, but, ironically, while I usually favor fried chicken (just like everyone else...), I actually thought this was better with their Flipped Chicken. Given how relatively light the salad felt, the chicken felt a little heavy and out of place. I'd still happily eat this again, though. -- FRIED CHICKEN ENTREE with Sweet Buttermilk Biscuit and Tomato Cucumber Salad...$15.75 Mostly great the first time I had this, but hit or miss this time. On the plus side, the drumstick and thigh were decently juicy and I LOVED the biscuit (super moist). However, the batter was a bit hard/thick and was more crunchy than crispy. The breast and salad were fine. Since neither Laurel Village nor West Portal are all that tough when it comes to parking, both locations are super convenient. However, while the former might be slightly easier at night (tons of spaces open up by dinner time), it's hard to beat getting off of the underground and grabbing a bite at the latter. Proposition Chicken, I'll inevitably see you again soon!

Same great spacey atmosphere, same hip-hop songs floating around, and the same cooking oil that's been used to manufacture biodiesel fuel, Proposition Chicken had set its nest near West Portal Station to replace LEMONADE. This time, I been thinking about savoring one of the side dishes for takeout. Introducing: Deep Fried Onion Rings!! Crispity, crunchy, and finger lickin' great with the same awesome spice used for fried to fake chicken! One bite was only good when it's fresh and crispy in day one. Glad to see some of the customers dining thanks to the efforts of Proposition Chicken. Maybe next time, I might try out the chicken wings for takeout.

Really like the space. The fried chicken is really good with extra crisp crust that's more fish fry than the traditional chicken-fried style. Didn't really care for the salad the entree meal seems like it would pair better with the fries or chips better. Staff is attentive and the menu has a good selection will be back to try out their new offerings.

I finally stopped by this place for lunch. I ordered the entree, which comes with three pieces of chicken, a side salad, and a biscuit. You get to choose how the chicken is prepared, fried, grilled, or tofu, and I went with fried. Honestly? So, so good. When I think about fried chicken in SF, this is easily top two for me. The breading was light and airy but still perfectly crispy, with seasoning that made every bite satisfying without being heavy. The side salad that came with it was super fresh, with cucumbers and tomatoes, which balanced the richness of the chicken really well. The biscuit was good but not my favorite part of the meal. I also added on a side of fries, and they came with an aioli dipping sauce that I couldn't stop eating. No complaints there. I tried the bone broth too, which was savory and packed with umami. Perfect for sipping outside on a nice day, it added a cozy touch sitting out on their patio. The outdoor seating area itself is great, clean and well-kept, with a fire pit for chillier afternoons. Service was another highlight. The person taking my order walked me through the menu, made suggestions, and even checked in on me while I was eating. Everything felt friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Between the quality of the food and the comfortable setting, this place is an easy repeat visit for me. Excited to bring friends and family here soon!

I'm still on the lookout for good chicken sandwich places in this city, so I finally decided to try this place. Anyways, I ordered it for to-go around 4pm on a Saturday and there wasn't much of a wait. I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich and also the Garlic Thyme Potato Wedges. Both items tasted good and I liked how the chicken sandwich had a slight spice to it! I want expecting the chicken sandwich to have that spice to it, but I still enjoyed eating it. I also thought it was cool how the potato wedges came with some type of ranch sauce, since I'd assume they would give me ketchup instead. The potato wedges were good too and was still crispy when I ate it. I'd recommend this place! The service is quick and the food was good. The chicken sandwich also had coleslaw inside it which gave it a nice crunch.

Steak was barely flavorful, quite cold even though it was "cooked on the spot". The caramelized onions were cold and nothing out of this world - if anything because they were chilled, they lost a bit of their flavoring. The croutons were nonexistent, I almost had to go back and ask if they could add some until I found 3-4 at the very bottom of my bowl. A lot of greens which was good, good serving there. I got a side of focaccia and that was delicious (do wish they offered to toast it a bit, it'd be that much more yummy!). The restaurant itself made a great first impression. It was clean, organized, and even had a nice little area set up for social media photos. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the presentation. I ordered the Mediterranean Bowl with Greek chicken. The chicken was dry, and it was obvious the seasoning had been sprinkled on after it was cooked instead of being cooked into the meat. I also ordered the Brussels sprouts and fried cauliflower. The Brussels sprouts looked perfectly crispy, which is exactly how they should have been, but they were soft and soggy instead. To make matters worse, the sauce was packed inside the same container, so the steam made them even soggier while also heating the small plastic sauce container inside. The fried cauliflower was equally disappointing. It looked crispy because of its golden brown color, but there wasn't a bit of crunch. Instead, it was oddly firm, almost al dente, making it feel more undercooked than fried. I also tried the garlic chicken soup, expecting something similar to Avgolemono. Instead, it was a thin, watered down broth with the same dry chicken pieces from the Mediterranean Bowl tossed in. The pita bread served with it was honestly the worst part of the meal and the only thing I threw away. Nothing was completely inedible, but for more than $60 worth of takeout, I expected food that matched the clean, inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. Sadly, this experience fell well short of that, and it's not a place I'll be returning to.

Beautiful evening, great service, and a lovely patio experience…read moreThis was my first time dining at Joe's Little Regional, and we had a very enjoyable evening. We arrived around 5:00 p.m. and were told there was about an hour wait for indoor seating, but we could be seated immediately on the patio. We decided to take the outdoor option, and it ended up working out perfectly. The patio still has plenty of ambience, and the beautiful weather was definitely on our side. We actually founded the indoor dining room to be quite festive and loud, so being outside made for a much more comfortable and enjoyable experience. We started with the salted Brussels sprouts and Caprese salad, both of which were hearty and delicious. We also tried two seasonal cocktails, the Watermelon Sour and the Blood Orange Martini. Everything came out with excellent timing. We asked that the appetizers be brought out before our entrées, and the pacing was perfect. The service was great. Our water glasses were consistently kept full, another team member was attentive about clearing empty plates and providing fresh cutlery, and our server was courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful when we had questions about the menu. For our entrées, we ordered the Ultimate Pizza, Angel Hair Pasta Pomodoro with chicken, Classic Spaghetti and Meatballs, and the Skillet Pasta. The food overall was delicious, and there was more than enough for our small group. We enjoyed sharing everything family-style, which made it fun to sample several dishes. One note: we found the Angel Hair Pasta and Spaghetti and Meatballs to be quite salty. That's certainly a matter of personal preference, but next time we'll ask if the dishes can be prepared with less salt or perhaps have the sauce served on the side so we can control the seasoning ourselves. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the patio was a great choice. I would definitely return, especially now that we know to plan ahead for indoor seating and to request less salt on the pasta dishes.

Everything tastes intentional and well-balanced. The chicken nuggets are another favorite -- perfectly crispy, juicy, and seriously addictive. But the real star for me is the drinking broth. I crave it. It's warm, comforting, deeply flavorful, and somehow feels both nourishing and indulgent at the same time. I order it almost every visit. Every experience here has been so good that I'm determined to try everything on the menu eventually. If you're looking for food that feels wholesome but still hits those comfort-food cravings, Kitava delivers every single time.

I'm not sure if he's the manager but he needs to do way better. I showed him my order and he had an attitude when he asked for my name. He said order just came in 4 minutes ago, I totally understand that food takes time so I asked to use restroom. When I came out I saw my order on the counter but did not grabbed it. I asked him to check if any of those were my order and he said "no" I told him I saw my order on the back counter and he rudely said "you did not" I told him to please check the orders in the front counter and he gave me my order stating he haven't realized it was a pick up... Idk if this the way you're treating everyone but I didn't find the attitude to be the correct one for a place like this. Food is great but remove this man if he's in management. Thanks!

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. We all noted that it was truly the perfect dinner portion where you leave full but not stuffed. The price is extremely reasonable for SF as well, so that combo of right size and right price really tickles my fancy. Cambodian Beef Skewer ($12): Bomb. Like, really wonderful. Tender, charred, salty, a bit sweet, and umami. This is one of their specialties, and I see why! It is absolutely one of the best skewers I've ever had. Pumpkin Curry w/ Chicken ($18) + White Rice ($3): So delicious. Silky-smooth curry loaded with all the mix-ins. If you like curry, just get it. I took a bite of my brother's Loc Lac ($15): also great. There was a broth + egg noodle-based dish that I can't remember the name of that was also super good. On the side, we ordered some Roti ($3 ea), and those were flaky and crispy. Finally, dessert was also fantastic. I LOVE to see a restaurant kill the mains and also bring out wonderful desserts. - Mango Sticky Rice ($8): Truly so good. I loved the sesame seeds on the mango to add some crunchy nuttiness to an otherwise smooth dish. They executed very well. - Fried Banana with Honey ($8): Could pop like 10 of these. I say order. - Roti w/ Ice Cream (between $8 - 12): fun, yummy. Probably my least favorite dessert, but still good. Amazing work, Megan's Table!!! If you are in the area, don't miss it :)

We ordered: 1) Beef skewers ($13 for 2 skewers) - The flavor was good but I would've liked them grilled for just a tad longer to get those caramelized bits. Mom found them to be a bit too chewy for her taste. 2) Chicken laab ($17) - Mom liked this one. Flavor was good and not too citrusy. 3) Khao Soi ($20) - Kiddos love their noodles. The broth was flavorful but a bit too spicy for me. 4) Loc Lac ($19) - The beef was good - tasty with the dipping sauce. However, like another reviewer noted, it was missing that wok hei flavor. 5) Tom Kha w/ chicken ($17) - It was ok. 6) Crab Fried Rice ($20) - Good but the price may be a bit steep for what is was. 7) Mango Sticky Rice ($9) - The mangos were a bit tart but ok when eaten with the rice. 8) Fried Banana ($8) - I didn't try this but mom liked it as they were served hot. There were about 5 pieces which, together, may make up one whole fried banana. Overall, the food was good; however, nothing in particular stood out. Glad to have given them a try.

I squirted the roasted lemon all over my chicken. It was so juicy that it would not stop squirting. The chicken was glistening in its bath of sensuality. He is African-American with dreads. After collecting the bag from the shelf like he usually does, he was immediately asked to show confirmation of the order on his phone.... The problem? I watched multiple other couriers walk in, pick up orders, and leave without being asked to show any proof. I double parked my car as I saw the interaction with the cashier and my boyfriend from outside. Funny enough, when I went to pick up the bag from the shelves, I was NOT asked to show confirmation but I made it a point to show the employee that I had the confirmation on my phone. That inconsistency speaks for itself. The employee at the register was a Caucasian gentlemen who was bald and was wearing glasses. I understand that employees have policies they have to follow. But if verifying pick up orders is the policy, then apply it to EVERYONE. You do not get to selectively enforce a policy and then expect customers not to notice. The fact that my boyfriend was singled out while multiple other people were not is deeply concerning and felt like racial profiling. I was born and raised in the neighborhood. Literally two blocks away. Me and my family order from this location numerous times which makes this experience even more disappointing. We have supported this establishment repeatedly, only to leave today feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. MIXT needs to do better. Policies should be applied consistently, not based on who walks through the door. You've lost my business. -A very disappointed neighbor
