There's a lot of good restaurants in this area. The Salad Place has been on my list to try for a while. The restaurant was empty at 1:30pm. They were out of corned beef. Instead, I ordered a pastrami sandwich on dutch crunch $12.50 and a large soup of the day, which was chicken noodle (Wednesday) $9. The food came out quick. My sandwich came out warm. If given the option, I would have preferred cold. It was a good sandwich. Next time, I'll skip the pickles & pepperoncinis. It added a pickled tangy taste. The sandwich came with a little side salad with Italian dressing. The highlight was the chicken noodle soup. Clearly, it was made in-house from scratch with chunks of chicken, mushy vegetables, herbs and a wide pasta type noodle. It was a hearty soup. Service was excellent. I was in and out within 30 minutes for lunch. Perfect for the 30 minutes metered parking outside. Free wifi if you ask the clerk for the password.

The Pastrami Sandwich was the bomb crunchy , the meat was juicy and the greens were fresh. The salad platter was so big.,The beet , carrot and orange juice made me feel refreshed and healthier. Marisol the cashier was so helpful and friendly. All of her recommendations were spot on and delicious. The place is clean and airy . It was a wonderful experience.Thank You. I will definitely be making another trip here soon. Highly recommended.

Service, food and ambiance are all amazing! Get the hot chai tea latte and a breakfast wrap. Yum! Proudly Spanish owned and operated. A true hidden gem in the Excelsior neighborhood of San Francisco! Highly recommend!

WOW! Such a gem. Pure food I got the avocado bacon egg sandwich, which was like $13 they ended up adding bell peppers, spinach, cheese all included which was such a treat. $3 iced coffee is unheard of these days, also 10/10. Prices are very cheap considering we're in the city. Heading back now for some fresh juice.

Perfect drinks--my husband and I always get a vanilla latte or milkshake. Oscar and his wife kindly greet us when we come in, help us choose a drink, and always check in to see what else we need. Sometimes I come just to study and have a coffee--the vibe is always quiet enough to chat and study, and the music is a good mix. Hidden gem More people should try the drinks here. The price checks out--very fair and I can taste the love in the drinks (you have to taste it to feel the love).

The two ladies working were amazing! My order went into the system as soon as I got there (bad connection at McLaren park) and they made it asap. Chicken in the salad was delicious. Soup of the day was Poblano and was amazing.

My husband found this place on Yelp and we thought we take a drive to beat the heat from Sacramento to try The Salad Place! We're glad we did! It was a small clean place!! The owner was helpful on helping us decide what to order! I had half a Veggie Sandwich and Green salad with Ceviche. My husband had half pastrami sandwich with a beet salad. Everything was Excellent and we will be back. It was a challenge to find a parking spot, though!

A homey, family owned lunch spot that serves fresh, delicious and healthy options. The family that owns this restaurant is adorable and eager to please. They provide exceptional service and a variety of feel good, well priced options. If you typically enjoy tuna salad, ceviche, and chicken tortilla soup, then you'll love the versions that The Salad Place serves. So fresh. So delicious. They're like the kind that your great grandmother (RIP) had been whippin up for decades. I'll for sure be back for another healthy lunch!

We started off with the beet salad and warm focaccia with olive oil, garlic, and balsamic vinegar. The combination of hot bread with sweet, cool beets was a perfect contrast. The beets were perfectly cooked and came with crunchy, candied pecans over a light bed of whipped ricotta. I could not get enough, especially of the candied pecans. The focaccia was perfectly cooked and super light and fluffy. You can tell that the olive oil and balsamic vinegar are of the highest quality and the dip paired so well with the bread. For our mains, my husband got the rigatoni while I got the gnocchi carbonara (at the waiter's suggestion). Both of us were extremely happy with our choices. I'm used to getting gnocchi dishes that are super dense and doughy but in this dish, it was melting in your mouth. The infusion of the duck flavors really came through in the sauce and you had crispy meat sprinkled on top as well to give a contrasting texture to the rest of the dish. The rigatoni came with a couple of meatballs and sausages that you can tell are freshly made in house as they were tender and flavorful. The marinara sauce had a hint of sweetness with the tartness of the tomato sauce to balance it out. The pasta might have been a hair undercooked but it didn't make the dish any less delicious. For dessert, we ended with a chocolate tiramisu - a bed of moist, chocolate cake with a layer of coffee cream and cream on top, it was a delicious twist on the classic dish. We both agreed that we can't wait for our next visit back to Ofena!

(There's a outdoor pirate themed play area across the street which my kids enjoyed before dinner). The inside is modern but sparse, with three cozy dining dining rooms with a lovely full bar in the center room. Service was wonderful and the manager warmly greeted us with champagne for having happened to be there on their 2 year anniversary. It's not often these days that I find everything on the menu intriguing but we definitely had trouble deciding on what to pick from. What I ended up loving the most were the "sides" which were main dishes in and of themselves in terms of how much flavor was packed into them! For example, the Gigante Beans were so delicious that we tried to replicate them at home the following week. I loved how colorful and tasty the Squash Cabonata side was. Also loved the Pea and Asparagus salad which was beautifully plated, well-textured dish-- I liked that they were small bite sized cuts of crispy asparagus, and sprinkled with some pea shoots. The Gnocchi Carbonara, Saffron Risotto dish, and the polenta side were all very tasty, but I think it was an error to order all three since they were all a bit creamy/heavy. Overall a wonderful spot for dinner!

Sure, sometimes it's nice to visit a lesser-known restaurant in hopes of finding a hidden gem, but the reality is -- any eatery worth Yelping about is being Yelped about. Every part of dinner further solidified Memento's status as a one-and-done deal. The mocktail we ordered was so syrupy thick, it needed watering down before we could drink it. Paella with sausage had a thin layer of crisp rice. Oddly enough, the tomatoey elements coupled with the type of sausage used reminded me of pizza. My bf reported that the steak in his surf & turf was undercooked & had a "funny" flavor. 'Nough said. As much as we'd like to support a neighborhood restaurant, it cannot be at the expense of good flavors & basic cooking techniques.

There were people sitting outside, and as they came inside to leave, I jokingly said they must be from up north, as the outside temperature was 55 degrees with a light drizzle. They stated the only reason they ate outside was because they couldn't hear anything due to the band. It's an extremely loud band and a closed space so the music really echo. Unfortunately there is minimal weight staff. I believe that they spent the money on more servers rather than a band, it would be the best business move.
