There's a lot of good restaurants in this area. The Salad Place has been on my list to try for a while. The restaurant was empty at 1:30pm. They were out of corned beef. Instead, I ordered a pastrami sandwich on dutch crunch $12.50 and a large soup of the day, which was chicken noodle (Wednesday) $9. The food came out quick. My sandwich came out warm. If given the option, I would have preferred cold. It was a good sandwich. Next time, I'll skip the pickles & pepperoncinis. It added a pickled tangy taste. The sandwich came with a little side salad with Italian dressing. The highlight was the chicken noodle soup. Clearly, it was made in-house from scratch with chunks of chicken, mushy vegetables, herbs and a wide pasta type noodle. It was a hearty soup. Service was excellent. I was in and out within 30 minutes for lunch. Perfect for the 30 minutes metered parking outside. Free wifi if you ask the clerk for the password.

The Pastrami Sandwich was the bomb crunchy , the meat was juicy and the greens were fresh. The salad platter was so big.,The beet , carrot and orange juice made me feel refreshed and healthier. Marisol the cashier was so helpful and friendly. All of her recommendations were spot on and delicious. The place is clean and airy . It was a wonderful experience.Thank You. I will definitely be making another trip here soon. Highly recommended.

WOW! Such a gem. Pure food I got the avocado bacon egg sandwich, which was like $13 they ended up adding bell peppers, spinach, cheese all included which was such a treat. $3 iced coffee is unheard of these days, also 10/10. Prices are very cheap considering we're in the city. Heading back now for some fresh juice.

Perfect drinks--my husband and I always get a vanilla latte or milkshake. Oscar and his wife kindly greet us when we come in, help us choose a drink, and always check in to see what else we need. Sometimes I come just to study and have a coffee--the vibe is always quiet enough to chat and study, and the music is a good mix. Hidden gem More people should try the drinks here. The price checks out--very fair and I can taste the love in the drinks (you have to taste it to feel the love).

The two ladies working were amazing! My order went into the system as soon as I got there (bad connection at McLaren park) and they made it asap. Chicken in the salad was delicious. Soup of the day was Poblano and was amazing.

My husband found this place on Yelp and we thought we take a drive to beat the heat from Sacramento to try The Salad Place! We're glad we did! It was a small clean place!! The owner was helpful on helping us decide what to order! I had half a Veggie Sandwich and Green salad with Ceviche. My husband had half pastrami sandwich with a beet salad. Everything was Excellent and we will be back. It was a challenge to find a parking spot, though!

A homey, family owned lunch spot that serves fresh, delicious and healthy options. The family that owns this restaurant is adorable and eager to please. They provide exceptional service and a variety of feel good, well priced options. If you typically enjoy tuna salad, ceviche, and chicken tortilla soup, then you'll love the versions that The Salad Place serves. So fresh. So delicious. They're like the kind that your great grandmother (RIP) had been whippin up for decades. I'll for sure be back for another healthy lunch!

Well, in December, that night finally came and oh, what a night. There wasn't a single bad bite. We got so much!! We had the steak, followed by a stunning persimmon dish, a perfectly balanced salad, crispy broccoli, and the mushroom pasta with whipped cheese, meat, and bread. rich, comforting, and absolutely unforgettable. We ended the night with cannoli, which was truly chef's kiss. A place that lives up to the hype and then some. Very cute place and the best service ever I felt like we've known the waiter forever! We started off with the beet salad and warm focaccia with olive oil, garlic, and balsamic vinegar. The combination of hot bread with sweet, cool beets was a perfect contrast. The beets were perfectly cooked and came with crunchy, candied pecans over a light bed of whipped ricotta. I could not get enough, especially of the candied pecans. The focaccia was perfectly cooked and super light and fluffy. You can tell that the olive oil and balsamic vinegar are of the highest quality and the dip paired so well with the bread. For our mains, my husband got the rigatoni while I got the gnocchi carbonara (at the waiter's suggestion). Both of us were extremely happy with our choices. I'm used to getting gnocchi dishes that are super dense and doughy but in this dish, it was melting in your mouth. The infusion of the duck flavors really came through in the sauce and you had crispy meat sprinkled on top as well to give a contrasting texture to the rest of the dish. The rigatoni came with a couple of meatballs and sausages that you can tell are freshly made in house as they were tender and flavorful. The marinara sauce had a hint of sweetness with the tartness of the tomato sauce to balance it out. The pasta might have been a hair undercooked but it didn't make the dish any less delicious. For dessert, we ended with a chocolate tiramisu - a bed of moist, chocolate cake with a layer of coffee cream and cream on top, it was a delicious twist on the classic dish. We both agreed that we can't wait for our next visit back to Ofena!

As much as I desired fries or onion rings as an accompaniment to my Fried Chicken Salad ($17.23 pre-tip) the added cost kept me from getting either. This proved a good thing as the salad was deceivingly filling. It's clear that Proposition Chicken knows how to fry. The chicken bites in my salad were perfectly executed and tasted quite good, especially when dipped in a cup of hot sauce. Yes, this was a salad but I thought it more interesting as fried chicken. Though the ingredients tasted fresh I wasn't a huge fan of the kale/mint/romaine/cuke/tomato profile of the salad and thought the chicken was doing the heavy lifting. Admittedly, this comes down to personal preference but as a person who generally loves salads I'd probably look to another part of the menu for future orders. Despite the fast-food vibe of the space I left not feeling like I'd consumed fast-food fare, a plus in my book.

Thanks to Alberto and the entire team, we had the best time, food, and overall experience. Even though the restaurant was incredibly busy--packed with people and with guests constantly walking in throughout the evening--Alberto never made us feel forgotten. He thoughtfully checked in on us, got everything to us in a reasonable amount of time, and was incredibly patient as I asked questions about different menu items. He even let us know that, although he was busy, we should simply flag him down if we needed anything at all. At establishments like this that have such a high volume of customers, I honestly don't expect service like this. I expect long waits and to spend half the evening trying to find my server. Not Alberto, though. He was kind, professional, helpful, and knowledgeable from beginning to end. As for the food, I had the Pilsner and Joe's Filet of Sole, my friend had the Golden Ale and Joe's Eggplant Parmigiana, and we shared the butter cake with ice cream for dessert. Everything was chef's kiss, including the bread and butter! I would absolutely come back just for the service from Alberto. Five stars, always. The place was packed, and without a reservation, it would have been nearly impossible to dine there. The restaurant has the classic feel of a traditional American-style steakhouse. The atmosphere was pleasant, although it was so crowded that it was difficult to appreciate many of the finer details of the interior. The staff were exceptionally patient and friendly, taking the time to explain the menu and offer their recommendations. For my meal, I ordered the ribeye steak and the seafood pasta. In my opinion, the steak was a bit overpriced for what it offered. The flavor was decent, but overall it felt expensive. I ordered it rare, yet the surface of the steak was surprisingly tough. The seafood pasta was fairly good and came with a generous amount of seafood, making it feel like a good value. However, I had expected a lighter flavor profile, and it turned out to be much creamier and richer than I anticipated. Overall, I would rate the food an 8/10. The restaurant only serves its famous Prime Rib after 2:30 PM each day. I've heard it's their signature dish, but unfortunately, we arrived too early and didn't get a chance to try it. All things considered, it's a solid restaurant. If you've never been before, it's worth visiting at least once to experience the atmosphere and see what makes it so popular.

Every part of dinner further solidified Memento's status as a one-and-done deal. The mocktail we ordered was so syrupy thick, it needed watering down before we could drink it. Paella with sausage had a thin layer of crisp rice. Oddly enough, the tomatoey elements coupled with the type of sausage used reminded me of pizza. My bf reported that the steak in his surf & turf was undercooked & had a "funny" flavor. 'Nough said. As much as we'd like to support a neighborhood restaurant, it cannot be at the expense of good flavors & basic cooking techniques.
