Our current life situation has us relying solely on food delivery and we also love to support nearby local small businesses so we decided to order a few different salads from this local eatery. We of course understand that some food choices may not be available at the time we place our orders, but as a courtesy we do expect either a phone call or message to inform us of the menu item that is not available, instead of finding out after we received our delivery that a crude scribbled message on the lid of the eatery's substitution that they were out of what we ordered. No messages in any form to advise us. And their replacement item was horrible and deposited straight into the trash. The food and drinks are consistent and so yummy! I get the chorizo torta and a mocha each time. The meals are affordable, but they are also very generous with their portions. Instead, I ordered a pastrami sandwich on dutch crunch $12.50 and a large soup of the day, which was chicken noodle (Wednesday) $9. The food came out quick. My sandwich came out warm. If given the option, I would have preferred cold. It was a good sandwich. Next time, I'll skip the pickles & pepperoncinis. It added a pickled tangy taste. The sandwich came with a little side salad with Italian dressing. The highlight was the chicken noodle soup. Clearly, it was made in-house from scratch with chunks of chicken, mushy vegetables, herbs and a wide pasta type noodle. It was a hearty soup. Service was excellent. This place was so good for brunch kinda food! I can't speak for the pork belly sandwich and cobb salad, but I myself loved the lox bagel sandwich and chicken tortilla soup. The lox was PACKED with toppings: cucumbers, tomatoes, capers, onions, cream cheese, smoked salmon - it was actually bomb and stuffed! The soup too had a ton of flavor, so not dissapointed. Extra: Heard from my dad the pork belly was pretty good. The complaints from my mom's Cobb salad was the lack of tomatoes, avocadoes, and other toppings unfortunately. It's incredibly sad to me when places I'm looking at to get catering from have the most rude people answering the phones. I was referred to this place from a long time friend and I guess when I called the owner that they knew is not the owner anymore and I was met with somebody who just kept hanging up the phone on me making assumptions and providing the absolute worst service I've ever had. This was a charmer of a spot and an accidental find as I happened to be nearby at a flooring store and was looking for some lunch.
