Solid restaurant with a decent selection of beer and food. The outdoor seating area was fairly expansive and the service was prompt. I had a Riesling and a Wurst sandwich with a side salad. The wurst was delicious but I found the bun to be quite dry. The salad was fairly small, and one of the few veggie options. I suppose I was expecting more of a selection of food, and this isn't really a great place to go if you want something healthy or vegetarian. Still, good vibes overall and friendly people. read more

Went for the idea of German food but had to give in to the burger. Great burger! Super juicy, great flavors. Love the cheese combo. Fries have great flavor and texture. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Will have to get the spaetzle some other time. read more

Okay wait I came here hungry yesterday for dinner after a hot day out and I am so glad I came. The food was divine. Brunch last time was no where near as good as dinner!! Such a hidden gem! I had the 3 pork and veal slides (Leberkäse Sliders!), which were tender and full of flavor. The buns were delicious with a little bit of German mustard, which was not too much. Also got a pint of the Schneider Weiss's Hefeweizen, which was refreshing and a nice semi-light beer. Vibes of the place were hip and easy going. A bit dimly lit. Tons of space with candles on wooden tables. Would be perfect for a first or second date. Staff was really friendly! read more

Came in with a fairly large group for brunch. Called ahead for a reservation, but on this day it wasn't totally necessary to have a resi. Our group ordered a lot of different items on the menu: warm pretzel, Prost Benedict, the deutsch baby (both sweet and savory), the brunch burger, and the hash. The deutsch baby is not what you would think of a pancake - it reminded me of an egg soufflé almost. It wasn't my vibe but the group enjoyed it. I got the Benedict and it was good but a little cold since I think they waited until the babys were done and so it was just a little mistimed. Otherwise tasty. My husband LOVED his brunch burger. He wouldn't STFU about how awesome it was lol. The fries were very tasty. The hash was super yummy. The warm pretzel was amazing. I would have ordered that if I had known how good it was. They had cold brew coffee, which was nice to have with brunch. Service was very good. read more

Prost is such a solid spot for German food and beer in the DC area! I stopped by with a friend the other week when she was in town and we were super happy with everything! The food was great and the atmosphere was what we were looking for on a Saturday evening! The beer menu was extensive but y'all don't sleep on their cocktails. This place has tons of outdoor seating and the weather was perfect the night we visited. Our server was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive without being annoying. Our food and beer were fantastic! We ordered the 10 beer flight thinking we'd receive tiny samples of each, but the 10 beer flight is 2 liters of beer (total volume)!!! We ordered the short rib spaetzle and it was to die for! The short ribs were fall-apart tender and the spaetzle was perfect. I'm looking for an excuse to return! read more

I ordered the Prost Benedict, and it was very filling but was a bit tasteless. (Note: Other dishes seem heavier, so be prepared to bring home leftovers!) It could use a mustard-based dressing for the pulled pork or more flavorful hollandaise sauce, IMO. The salad side had a rather too tasteless dressing too. Service was excellent though, so I'm keeping this place at 4 stars. read more

Had brunch recently and it was awesome. Ordered chicken deutsch baby, fruit deutsch baby and eggs Benedict. For drinks, we ordered the "wake me up" and prostini. The food was delicious but left our group still very hungry. So definitely order a side because the entrees doesn't come with any. Drinks were very small but alright. If I could give it 0 bars I would. The bartender accused me of being "too drunk" and then proceeded to say "I don't want to clean up your puke honey" UNPROFESSIONAL. And her little server bowed down to her. Ridiculous. TERRIBLE service and they kick you out. DO NOT RECOMMEND. If Shannon T is working RUN THE OTHER WAY SHE WILL NOT LET YOU DRINK MORE THAN ONE BEER AND THEN ACCUSE YOU OF OVER DRINKING. She is judgmental and is just out right WRONG. Terrible table service, Shannon was mad at the individuals at my table for going to the bar to order when her "side kick" NEVER ONCE came over to take our order. HORRIBLE SERVICE AND HORRIBLE BARTENDING. I will NOT BE BACK. Save your money and go have fun somewhere else. Shannon T is the "manager", what a joke. Good atmosphere, good beer. The Brat was good, perhaps a bit too much sauerkraut. Also would be helpful to have more than a small cup of condiments. I think they did a good job with the decoration and outdoor space Biggest criticism is that they don't know how to pour a beer. Out of 5 rounds of 4 beers each, at least 5 beers were not poured properly. They would be sent back in Germany. read more

Four stars is a little generous but I want to love Prost. I'm a big fan of German food and beer; however, the service here was a little bit less than stellar. It was pretty clear that our server half-listening since all the orders were slightly off. When I arrived before my friend and ordered a beer, she brought me two. We both ordered the schnitzel, she brought us the schnitzel sandwich. We didn't complain as we drank the beer and ate the schnitzel sandwich -- which was pretty solid. The sauerkraut could have been more flavorful as could have the pickled beets. read more

Really great beers and a great value. We got the sampler of all ten beers which I def recommend. We each loved all of the beers, but we also were able to pinpoint our favorites which we can get liters of next time. We also got the app sampler which was really yummy. I'm definitely getting a full sausage next time - it was really good. I also got the fries which were perfectly crunchy. The outside seating is also perfect for social distancing and has the added bonus of great pup and people watching! read more

Prost is a solid spot to drink German beer on the edge of Mt. Vernon Square and Chinatown. They've got an excellent selection of German beer ranging from the darker options to the classic weissbiers. If you're into beer, this is a place you need to try. For those who don't drink beer, they've got a solid cocktail selection with some fun summer and winter drinks. As for food, I've only had the pretzel.....it's very tasty but I wish the large pretzel was larger! They've got a good amount of seating outside and an interesting outdoor area that is a lot of fun for people watching. read more

This was a cute German beer spot with decent brunch entrees and a well served bottomless brunch for drinks. The sweet Deutsch baby is less filling than the savory since it's topped with fruit rather than a schnitzel! The bottomless drinks include mimosas, Bloody Mary's, and select beers. I had a great brunch experience here with a friend who lives in the area. I love how spaced out and open the outdoor dining is. Service was a little lagging at times with the bottomless but overall great experience! My friend and I both ordered the breakfast burger and got a Deutsch baby to share as a "dessert." Loving the new look from the owners of Silo, with this German-style beer pub. It is just what the Mount Vernon triangle neighborhood needed in COVID times: plenty of outdoor seating and lots of delicious German beer! They have heaters (which will be more important as WINTER is coming...) and yummy waist-ban-stretching treats, like pretzels with creamy beer cheese and hand cut French fries. It's not a cheap afternoon (three beers and two appetizers cost about $60 all in), but it was a great vibe and I will definitely come back to try their yummy looking brunch! read more

They are the most flaky and buttery biscuits, you can count each layer that these have. Pro tip is to ask for butter and the house made jam. The pimento cheese is good with them but it becomes a little too decadent. Overall I'm happy we made the decision to come here, we will be back soon.

The pita that comes with it was warm. We also got the shishito peppers. For our main, we ordered the Terracotta Köfte, scallops, and the Duck Shawarma. The köfte and shawarma were the winners! For dessert, we enjoyed the panna cotta and knafeh. Overall, we enjoyed our experience! The owner's father owns a restaurant in Istanbul. Trained at Harvard, he and his wife are bringing Mediterranean food to D.C. with an American twist.
