The Nepalese steamed dumplings are superb. Ten to an order, they are freshly made, requiring a 17 min. wait. The order comes attractively arranged in a round tin with a paper top that tucks into the tin's rim. A small, separate container holds the sauce. The dumplings are packed with meat, cilantro, and spices; in the last bite, you get a little squish of juices.The dumplings are delicious just by themselves, but when you add the thick, somewhat spicy, sauce, these dumplings leave behind all dumplings you've had in the past. Covid-wise, you may enter the restaurant to place your order, then you leave. There's seating outside. read more

This place is amazing! My brother went here for lunch and got a sandwich which he said was great. We then went for dinner that same night and I loved it! The staff was extremely friendly and I loved the design of the restaurant. We both got curry dishes which were AMAZING! Perfect amount of spice and the portions were great. (filled up 2 20 year olds). Also the dishes were served straight from the kitchen and you can tell they were made to order! We will be back often! read more

This is the BEST non-seafood takeout in town, hands-down. If you like Asian fusion, Bluefin is good too but a lot pricier. Public Cafe is a small family-run establishment and the family is exceptionally friendly. The food is Nepalese. Every dish is gigantic. We ordered a romaine salad which took up an entire large size container and looked like a dinner portion for $7.99. The Everest momo are similar to Chinese pork dumplings but with a curry flavor, delicious. One order is enough for a whole meal or 2 people to share. We also got the chicken tikka masala, the flavor of which was excellent and chicken tender. I had the bibimbap mixed rice. This had at least four or five large hunks of lean short rib with vegetables, not spicy, served with some kimchee, which gave it some kick, and jasmine rice. It is definitely enough for two meals. Anyway, we spent about $45 and way over-ordered. We had enough for dinner and lunch and some dinner the next day. Everything was homemade and fresh. I didn't even mention how delicious their breakfast options looked. We had to get a blueberry scone to try the next morning. I'm eating it now, and it's top notch. I will dream about coming back here year round. read more

Kind of obsessed with this place. Stopped in for what I expected to be sandwiches and ended up sharing bibimbap and momo's. It was the best bibimbap we've ever had. Before ordering, $15 seemed a little steep for bibimbap but we got a ton of beef and fresh veggies, plus homemade kimchi. The momo's were awesome too but it was my first momo experience so have nothing to compare them too. Even though the decor is disjointed and the name doesn't match the food my 4 kids and I loved the chicken tikka masala, my Carribbean jerk chicken was beyond tasty, and the seafood chowder was the best I've ever had--chock full of fish and chopped clams. A gem in Chatham! read more

Hari thank you sooo much for such a good meal! We had the curry chicken soup, Caribbean jerk chicken, chicken and veg curry, chicken tikka masala, Everest momo, and a black coffee and Frappuccino. It was all sooooo good. It was flavorful and spiced, when I ordered one dish extra spicy, I could taste the difference. I was sweating but it was amazing! Hari provides us such good service and was so kind. We definitely would send our friends here. Wish we got desert! But we left beyond full. Had leftovers for two days. read more

My wife and I come here all the time. It's a great affordable year round spot to have a delicious breakfast or lunch. The cafe itself is always clean and the owner and staff are all attentive and friendly. This is the only place on the cape for delicious authentic Nepalese food. The cafe also cooks up classic American soups, salads, and sandwiches. Everything we've tasted here has been excellent; chef/owner Hari is very talented. The organic coffee is always fresh and the Himalayan chai is great too. Great spot right on main street in chatham. read more

We went around 10am on a Saturday in July and had no trouble finding parking nearby OR seating at the restaurant. The food was AMAZING. At first I thought, "Coffee and Tea, Sandwiches, AND Asian Fusion?!" But they NAILED IT! I had a bibimbop fried rice which was delicious (and luckily, the put the spicy sauce on the side so my kids loved it too). My husband got the Aaludam breakfast burrito - curried veggies with scrambled eggs in a burrito. I was sad I only got 3 bites of his (but also stuffed with my own delicious breakfast). And they had delicious vanilla cold brew coffee too! I've used the word "delicious" three times in this post already, but it was really THAT GOOD! I'd love to try more dishes! read more

Amazing tasting, organic coffee!! I got the cold brew decaf and it hit the spot, my husband got the French roast and loved it. We both got the avocado grilled cheese on sourdough. It comes with a bag of cape cod chips and a pickle. My husband got bacon on his and they were delicious. We were looking for a place like this and just stumbled upon it. Himalayan/Nepalese-inspired menu, very friendly staff and servers! My husband ordered a spicy curry burrito with egg at first and did not like the combination so they offered to replace his meal, hence the avocado grilled cheese with bacon.
