Food was expensive and bland. Was excited to try this place after reading all the (majority) positive reviews. Ordered a pork momo, a chicken tikka curry, another vegetarian curry, and an iced chai. The momos were standard. The chai was the best out of the order- smooth, chilled, and sweet. The curries, however, were New York City prices without the quality that should come with. The vegetarian curry was extremely bland and tasteless. The chicken tikka was slightly more flavorful, but the chicken tasted like cardboard boxes and almost broke my teeth to chew. I had to gulp water to swallow the chicken meat. Well at least the meat was very lean. Service was fast and servers seemed nice, but I probably won't return. If I did, it would be for the iced chai only. read more

Don't let the name confuse you, Public Cafe does Asian food. And it does it amazingly. We got the dumplings and burrito, and both were excellent. It was the best meal we had during our week in the Cape. Seating area is small, but there is room to eat outside. read more

This was a surprising gem of an eatery. Light bites with an eclectic array of food options. I got the Aaludam Naan, which had a nice bit of spice and super satisfying. What a treasure to find on Main St. The food was great. I had the Aaludam Rice and it was a well balanced festival of flavors. Not to spicy with just the right amount of kick. My wife said the Mediterranean Veg Panini was excellent. All the vegetables were done to perfection! Most restaurants struggle to master sauté. They nailed it. I must have really ordered to their strength because my meal was absolutely delightful. I got the Poke Bowl special, which can sometimes be a risk, but this bowl was full of flavor, both spicy and sweet. The tuna was excellent, and the house-made kimchi was a perfect addition - I would literally eat this meal every day if I could. We love it at the Public Cafe. When we are in the Cape we make it a priority to stop in for lunch or dinner. The food is amazing. We love the poke bowl Plenty of tuna, avocado, rice and vegetables. Absolutely delightful. Everest mo:mo is exquisite, the tikka masala is Devine, and the dumpling are silky, soft, gingery pork Greatness - I dare say perfection. In addition to the Nepalese offerings, there are a lot of SoCal favorites. The range of food is eclectic, the repertoire seemingly picked up by this chef/surfer (Dick Dale was rocking with his Deltones on the radio) while traveling the world. It all just works in this space in this time. Everything is spectacular in an unassuming atmosphere. Hands down the best and most unpretentious food on Main Street (Carmine's rocks though).
