I often have very low expectations for a hotel bar, but the food here was tasty. We were looking for a few bar bites to snack on and they had a fun, elevated menu. We ordered the beet salad, fries and pulled pork croquettes. The beet salad was delicious! It was topped with smoked salmon (which may not be for everyone), but I loved it. The fries were perfect and you could tell they were cooked fresh! The pulled pork croquettes were probably our least favorite, but only because they were so meaty and didn't have much potato as we had assumed a croquette would have. Overall, food was good! They advertise in all of the Sacramento Broadway programs/playbills for the Sacramento Broadway at the SAFE Performing Arts Center and for the Sacramento Broadway Music Circus (on L St) at the UC Davis Pavilions (on H St). Yet, they do not honor their advertised special offering. 1) They took our reservations via OpenTable. 2) They accepted our notes in OpenTable. 3) We confirmed with them via text the day before our reservations. 4) They advertised in both the Broadway Sacramento programs/playbills (in the Broadway Sacramento & Broadway Music Circus) Dinner for Two $85. In both of these ads there is zero mention (even in their fine print) of it ONLY being for performances held at the Performing Arts Center. This is very misleading & not at all appreciated. This is a bait & switch! Plus, they did not reply to the direct messages we sent on Saturday; so now we place this out publicly as our review four days later. We went for Mothers Day brunch. This restaurant is in the Sheraton Grand Hotel. Parking. 6/10. Had to use their valet or else walk many blocks. Service: 9/10. We were seated quickly, and our server (well, it was a buffet, but he took drink orders) was excellent. The only problem was finding him after our meal to get the check! Starting with a disclaimer... we have only been for drinks and have yet to try the food. Our most recent visit prompted this review. We used to be local, but on this occasion we had the opportunity to stay upstairs, and we picked this hotel partially so that we could end our day sitting within this lovely setting for a cocktail. The architecture / decor is absolutely gorgeous and we've loved stopping here previously to enjoy the ambiance. On our most recent visit the service was top notch. Stella is a magnificent bartender, crafting wonderful espresso martinis and creating an inviting space to relax and enjoy a drink at the end of the day. Went in for their prix fixe Thanksgiving meal and was pretty disappointed. There were looooong breaks between courses. It took almost 2 hours to get through three courses of ungenerously portioned and pretty pedestrian food, They could only manage to bring two rounds of drinks to the table the entire two hours, although we ordered more, the server just seemed to forget. This is just a review for a specific item, the wings. I ordered pretty late at night (and to my room) and it was a convention weekend so it came quite late because the kitchen was busy, about an hour after I ordered. These are the smallest wings I've ever had. Literally smaller than the ranch dressing container! And there were less than 10 total for almost $20. And many of them felt like.. I was eating plastic? There was a weird part of them that felt and tasted very odd. The sweet chili sauce on them made it better. Probably would not order again. read more

Located in the Sheraton Grand Hotel, this bar simply "fit the bill" for what I needed. In other words, we checked into the hotel on a late Friday night. As my bookmarks for places to eat around Sactown were dwindling, not to mention being exhausted from a busy work week; We just needed something in our stomach and a "much much much much needed" drink! Ya feel me? Walking into the main entrance of the Sheraton, this bar is basically their primary lounge area. And their choice for their guests to hang out. So, I checked with the bartender (possibly manager), Kristina, and even though it was close to 10pm, she was still glad to take our food order. I totally dig this hang-out, and here's why: ~ Cheddar Burger ($15): Served medium, this was one savory burger! It was wholesome and big filling. It hit the spot, so you can't go wrong ordering this plate! ~ Shrimp Cakes ($13.50): Decent tasting, yet nothing fancy. I'd pass on these. They were decent in taste, but I should've known better. ~ Risotto and scallops: Oh hell yeah! Talk about makin' me feel like I'm 'somebody! This was it! The scallops were seared just right, and had blended well with the risotto. I mean, these three scallops made up for the three OK tasting, shrimp cakes. ~ Steak Quesadilla: Or, aka imo, it's a "steak pop-tart"! Yep, that's how I can best describe it! The slices were pretty good in flavor, only it seemed to have been missing the cheesiness fun! Don't get me wrong, there was cheese. But after eating piece after piece, this quesadilla just held all the cheese inside like a Korean drama actress holding in her tears. ~ Bailey's and coffee: Yep, it's my "pick me up" drink! I'm just glad they still served coffee at night! ~ Another drink notables: ~ Nolett gin martini: Boy'oh'boy, this was a drink worth watching them make. Well not really, but still fancy lookin' in general. And the taste went down smoothly. Check out my pic, you'll want one! Screw it, get one! Highly recommended! Your dining experience: ~ The bar area itself is typical, with a couple of flatscreen monitors. The outer tables were tall with high comfortable chairs. Nice and high, nice and clean. And if you missed it, I DID say "Hotel Bar", because that's where you will find the Public Market Bar - with easy access from either the K Street Mall side or J Street, you'll find it inside the Sheraton Grande Hotel close on J Street @ 13th. SETUP I've kanoodled some very special times here - both with Yelp and on my own - and I have nothing but high praise for the space, the bar & table arrangements, the quickness and friendliness of the staff, and their awesome specials or their awesome treatment of special people whose events we are celebrating. But Public Market Bar has had quite an extensive history with us Yelpers. I was told that I had to put "Happy Hour at the Grand" on my Sac to do list so I was finally making it happen. I checked the happy hour menu on their website and met my friend for drinks and apps.... only to be told that they no longer do any happy hour, and haven't for over a year, and that they knew the website advertised happy hour but no one ever bothered to change it. Annoying.... But we ordered drinks anyway and perused the menu for apps. My friend's drink arrived promptly, but ten minutes later I was finally informed that they were out of the beer I had order. Annoying #2. The food menu just didn't look that appetizing so we finished our drinks and went elsewhere for dinner. Bummer, I'd been looking forward to this. Several times, I've enjoyed the experience of dining at Public Market Bar (PMB) located inside the Sheraton Grand Hotel. At each visit, my meals are prepared and presented fresh, colorful, perfectly seasoned and delicious. I'm a fan of the nachos with the house made chips and sour cream. Each chip covered with veggies, guacamole and a meat of one's choice. The three cheeses sprinkled throughout the dish, makes these nachos a top shelf delight. The seasoned wings are amazing! Wings smothered with the right balance of spicy season and sauce coating the perfectly fried chicken. Omgoodness, so yummy. AKA "PMB," located inside the Sheraton downtown... My wife and I scored last-second tix to see WICKED last night. We were starving when the show ended at almost 11PM, as we hadn't eaten dinner. The night was unusually cool and breezy (felt like being in SF), so we also wanted to get indoors in a hurry. After striking out at a couple spots where kitchens had just closed, we happened to walk past and saw people drinking and eating. This place didn't pop up on Yelp at all, so I was more than slightly skeptical. We decided to take our chances--and glad we did. The menu was pretty hefty for a lounge (i.e. not full restaurant) and included starters, salads and entrees. We saw about 8 things we could've ordered, and finally decided on the chicken Caesar, antipasto plate and an order of truffle fries. First off, the portions are pretty huge. When the dishes arrived we thought, uh oh, too much food; we might need to box one of these to go. In the end, everything was so good we nearly licked the plates clean. The antipasto included gobs of paper-thin prosciutto, salami, grilled artichoke hearts, fresh mozzarella slices, olives and a basket of bread (a meal in itself!). Next, the chicken Caesar was also a hit topped with sun-dried tomatoes and baked parmesan crisps and grilled chicken breast. The chicken was still warm, flavorful and not dry at all (which isn't easy to do). The truffle fries didn't disappoint, either. Though we were stuffing ourselves at this point, all that was left were crumbs and a few grains of salt. My wife especially liked the garlic aioli. I can't review the cocktails here but next time. With a 25-minute drive home ahead of us, I ordered a Stella and my wife a glass of Zin. The lounge area is big and tables are spread out. A lot of ground to cover, and there were only two servers on duty. The ladies were getting run pretty ragged, and so close to closing, but were still efficient and pleasant. We ended up leaving a 25% tip for their kicking of ass and taking of names with a smile. All in all, surprisingly good eats for a hotel lobby bar and open late. Also a lot of food for the money. If you don't mind a mixed crowd of old and young folks, sprinkled in with a few drunk post-wedding-goers, you'll be all set at the PMB! read more

We stayed at the Sheraton Grand on a recent trip to Sacramento. PMB is located in the lobby area. The ambiance is warm and inviting. After a long drive, it was nice to relax and have a drink in their comfortable lounge. The booth seats are located next to large window panels that provide an excellent view of J Street. Great place for people watching. We ordered the Korean hot wings Wow! They were so delicious. They baste them with a mild teriyaki seasoning and add a spicy kick to it. We were skeptical about trying them at first, but were pleasantly surprised when we took that first bite. Super delicious! I highly recommend you try them. read more

Located right in the lobby of the Sheraton Grand, this bar is great for just hanging out and people watching as well as for my favorite time of the day: happy hour! I actually came here two nights in a row, unplanned, and was surprised by how late it stayed open on the weekdays. At around midnight, people were still hanging out, drinking, and eating! The next day I came after work to celebrate Andrew N.'s going away party and there were still quite a lot of people chillin at the bar and the surrounding area. (Later to find out they were mostly Andrew's friends, Mr. Popular. pshhh) I had a sweet tea vodka/lemonade cocktail ($4) and an order of the nachos ($5). I also found out that you can order from the Morgan's Restaurant menu upstairs and threw in the delicious mac and cheese ($11). I wish that was on the happy hour menu! I also had bites of the truffle fries but was not impressed by the thick fries that they used. Everything was tasty and the portions were pretty big for the price. The service was also great seeing as the bartender found me all the way at the opposite end of the bar and brought me my food.
