I signed up for a 4 month promotion, and after I paid the amount I had agreed on, I saw that was charged an extra month. I was on the phone with 3-4 different agents, with multiple levels of competency. One agent tried to BS me and say that the first month is one promo, and I signed up for 4 months after that. After that got changed, the system kept telling me that I will owe money for the 4th month, as if I only paid for 3. There were a couple more things but It's too exhausting to write. It was ridiculous and buggy their system is. The only positive was the manager at the Canoga Park, CA location who was very professional and actually competent.

Rebecca walked me through everything over the phone in a way that was clear, thorough, and never overwhelming. Ella was amazing in person--super friendly, helpful, and made the whole experience feel welcoming instead of transactional. You can tell they both really know what they're doing and actually care. The facility itself is clean, well-maintained, climate-controlled (which I love), and feels very secure, which was a big priority for me. No weird storage-unit vibes. Super organized and well taken care of. The owner personally came to my home, inspected the area I wished to drop my box and where Pods had refused to drop, and the next day his driver came to my warehouse to drop off an empty container, waited while we loaded it which we had completed in under 30 minutes and then took my To Go Box to my home address where it sits now happily in my 75 foot long 1949 drive way by my garage:) The Driver could not have been more gracious, helpful and courteous. Just the day before the Pods driver had been disrespectful; pompous and uncooperative and thus I canceled service with them (they lost a 7 month service contract) and now happy as can be with To Go Box!:) There are many choices via these mobile storage boxes, as is I have tried three; Pack Rat tried to add on unmentioned delivery fees not listed on their website thus I canceled that; Pods practically impossible to communicate with by phone unless you want to wait 40+ minutes and then luck of the draw if the driver is professional and courteous or not and then lastly of the three To Go Box whom I love and will happily use until my work is done:) I cannot say enough positive things about this business and it's people.

One manager told me they sprayed and the issue was handled, but when I called another manager later, they told me they've "never had spider issues." So which one is it? Because I definitely saw them. The fact that management isn't even on the same page is frustrating and unprofessional. Now I'm looking at possibly throwing away my baby's clothes because I don't feel comfortable using them after this. I shouldn't have to pay full price for a unit that's not even clean or properly treated for pests. I only paid this month because I didn't want late fees, but I honestly didn't want to continue storing anything here after what I saw. I hope they take this seriously and improve their pest control and communication, because customers should not have to deal with this.

I found a slightly larger locker at Public Storage, just around the corner, for $15 per month. Granted that is an introductory rate, but even if they double it after the introductory period, we will be at $30, which is still less than half price! On top of that, they never answer their phones for existing customers. I had to call as a new customer to finally get ahold of them. Bad service bad pricing! I don't recommend them!

These are not trustworthy people and they will do anything g they can to scam you out of money. There are plenty of other storage places where you would be working with decent management and people who will not try to overcharge you. They have also told me I am no longer allowed to rent a unit online, as the accounts clearly offer with a large button that says "add a new unit" and has the prices listed for each unit. So they charge random fees because they want to and do a bait and switch for units they offer online. Not to mention the raising prices every 6-12 months.

Pick-up was a breeze and I was on the road within minutes. Dropping off the van was ok as well, but by then there was a traffic log so it was slightly chaotic of people dropping off vs. people trying to park inside the lot to pick up. Speaking of which, park on the street if you can because if you park inside the lot you'll get stuck for a while. Overall my first experience with renting a U-Haul was a pretty good one (apart from being sore as hell, but that's on me with my move). They open fairly early too so it's a good location for early birds.
