I've used Public Storage before, but this location is great! Julia in the front office is so sweet and helpful! The few minor issues I had in my unit (ants and wall damage from another unit) were addressed quickly. I have been with this specific location for a little over 5 years and although I have fought over the years against inevitable increases with corporate I was lucky enough to have one of the most enjoyable experiences ever in my term with Public Storage. I understand that sometimes you can't fight city hall but thanks to a customer service operator and 2 of the sweetest and most helpful employees I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with I am able to continue my business with PS. I had expressed that I would have to vacate due to price increases but Penny and Julia, both front desk office workers, went above and beyond the call of duty to help keep me at public storage. Great facility, very clean and excellent customer service. I went in on a Sunday morning when they just opened which I recommend as a good time to go because you get full attention. Rubia helped me out and she was awesome! She was very personable and went the extra mile to accommodate my requests. She explained everything in detail and was efficient in getting me in and out in a timely manner. She really knows her job and does it very well. I felt very confident in her and this Public Storage facility. I nominate her for a raise if her boss is reading this! So I read a few of the reviews about the inconvenience of the security and believe me when I tell you, I'm all about things being easy but the place is small so I didn't find it to be a hassle parking my car then walking back out to get the cart and such. I was kind of in the moving mode anyway so I guess this little extra work seemed so small considering what I had been through in the past week. I understand why they do the security they way they do and it makes sense. You don't want just anyone to be able to enter the facility, do you? Also, we're in LA. If they left the carts inside the facility, some jack asses would load them right up into their truck and steal them so they have to do this. To make their customer service even better, a week later I received a phone call from one of the gals to see how I was doing, and if I was happy with my storage unit and if I had any questions they could answer, they would be more than happy to help me. This NEVER happens and I was impressed by this and gave me even more peace of mind that my things were in a good place with people who cared. read more

I'd like to echo the sentiments of another reviewer who said the admin personnel at the locations are good but the area or district managers need to work on their customer service. Julia helped me in the office and she was great. Due to an unfortunate set of events that were not my fault I ended up having to change the date I was planning to move into the storage and basically pay for a week that I didn't use. When I was handed over to the district mgr he spoke to me with an accusatory tone without asking for my side of the story. Once I let him know what happened we discovered he had been misinformed. He still did not acknowledge that the error was theirs or apologize. I requested that something be done to offset the monetary loss I had encumbered because it wasn't my fault. He didn't do that, but he did offer to do something that would fix the problem immediately. I understand that the purpose of your business is to make money, but I feel like there is always a compromise that can be made to satisfy both parties. I am not satisfied. I am taking my review from 3 stars to 2 stars. When I originally got the unit I had asked to see two units because I wasn't sure if the first one was large enough. I was assured that if I paid for a unit that day but realized it wasn't big enough when I brought my things that I could transfer to another unit. They said it as if it was easy and would be no problem at all. On the day that I moved in I didn't think the unit was large enough, so I asked about transferring. It seemed like I was now being discouraged from transferring. I was told I wouldn't get any discounts and the money that I had already paid for the first unit would not be applied to the new unit. And I was also told that if I wanted to transfer to a unit of the same size I couldn't do that at all. It was very misleading and deceptive to not disclose this information when I explicitly asked about the transferring process. read more
