From the moment I stepped through the door until the moment I left, the experience was excellent. I was seated promptly, the waiter was pleasant and brought us the food and drinks we ordered right away and followed up throughout our meal to replenish water glasses and make sure we were satisfied. They do a fine job! I don't eat out often so I find the lunch prices high starting at $11 for most things. I got a spinach and shrimp corn tortilla for $12. 1/3 rice, 1/3 beans, 1 tortilla, which all tasted the same. They do have a lunch buffet from 11-2, but just missed that. read more

The food was good and so was the service. I ordered a veggie-chimichanga. It was very good. My meal was served with beans that were a bit salty. I ignored the beans, and the chimi was more than adequate. The restaurant was set up for sunday brunch, but that did not hinder the restaurant from providing good service to our table of nine. My grand-nieces each got a coloring place-mat and crayons. They immediately set in to coloring their masterpieces, which helped to keep them occupied and controlled for not disturbing others dining experience. Now if they only had something for the boisterous adults? I have eaten at other Puerto Vallarta restaurants, which I have given mixed reviews. After reading a few reviews I was not sure about the restaurant but afterwards I was very impressed with them 1. The service 2. They attentiveness we got 3. Allowing us to have our 3 pups on the patio and enjoying our lunch out with them. We travel to Central America often so we get authentic food, though it is Americanized i recommend the Carne asada with black beans and the pollo asado. You can really go wrong with those. The first time I went it was like 2:00 in the afternoon, so I get that it was a slow time, but they seated me near the kitchen for their convenience and a young child (of the owner or someone else who worked there) was literally using the dining area as her playground, throwing a ball around and shouting. I really wanted to get out of there asap. The food was mediocre, I've had really fresh, light Mexican food in my life, and this was of the heavy, cheesy type. Just super disappointing. Ick. Tried several times. Not. Going. Back. This is not a slam against this particular Puerto Vallarta - this is a review for the entire chain. We've visited Puerto Vallarta several different times in different cities, and each time we're left disappointed and asking "what just happened?" Leftovers were not worth taking home, and I'll pretty much eat any kind of leftover. Ginormous plates do not make lunch or dinner a good value. Smaller plates with better food would get us coming back. For those who love Puerto Vallarta - enjoy it. We'll be moving on. read more

Typical americanized mexican menu - food is the typical abundant but not necessarily memorable. The staff are all very friendly and the restaurant is very clean. We tend to stick in the bar section which is more populated, particularly during happy hour. They have a daily drink special (written on the chalk board) along with the normal beer/wine/margaritas at hh prices. They give you their homemade chips/salsa/refried beans/pico de gallo unlimited and you can order off their appetizer menu at half off hh price. They have taco bar on Sundays and they do bingo during the Monday HH which packed the bar. We will continue to visit during the HH! read more

Have been three times. Food was fresh and tasted great. Good portions. Waitstaff shares duties, so we were always cared for in a polite and efficient manner. When we brought our Littles, the food came out quickly. And, they asked first and then brought ice cream cones out for them after. We are fans. read more

I grew up in LA, where Mexican cuisine as we know it today was developed. Have sampled Mexican/American food in virtually every state in the union. PV has the best of the best. What is even better is that the portions are huge. Always enough for another meal, so ask for a container. Also, their new building is a real treasure for the region. As always, the service and hospitality is tops. Only drawback is that buffet can be rapidly depleted by those whose stomachs are actually the size of their appetites. My fiancé & I have always loved this Mexican restaurant & frequent it quite often. We are especially impressed with their lunch buffet. Although are last visit there was not a pleasant one & we may never be back. When we received our food in my Fiances dish we noticed a bunch of fruit flies that had been cooked into her food & imbedded in the cheese. The waitress seemed nonchalant like it happens all the time & took her plate back & didn't charge us for it although charged us for the rest of the meal. The staff here is extremely friendly and very quick to keep waters, chips, and salsa full. The food is good and the portions are quite big. While not necessarily "authentic", it's still much better than Azteca - or any other Mexican restaurant I've eaten at in Kitsap County. The atmosphere and polite staff will keep me coming back. We had dinner here for our niece's wedding rehearsal dinner and the first thing I noticed was the superb service! We were welcomed with the friendliest staff who did an amazing job at making sure our entire party was taken care of. We had a little private area in the back of the restaurant with a buffet style of build your own tacos, tostadas, chile verde, mole, and enchiladas. Not only was everything delicious, my husband had a good amount of gluten free options he was able to choose from. They had unlimited tortilla chips on the tables with beans and salsa. The restaurant was one of the cleanest I've seen so far. It's too bad this place is a ferry ride over or else we'd be coming back often. I'm not even a big fan of Mexican food but this place hit the spot for authentic comfort food. read more

Its inexpensive and fairly easy cuisine and I'm sure any self respecting Mexican cook would rather cook authentic. It can be so good, and these restaurants make it so bad.
