Myself & my friends went to this restaurant Wednesday night, a party of nine after we were informed by the staff a week earlier that we did not need a reservation. Upon our arrival we were told to wait more than an hour for a table. There were two large tables open & the owner told us they were reserved. I guess certain customers get special treatment, much better than the treatment we received. The owner was rude & arrogant and he will never see our business again. Not my first time at the restaurant, I can say the food is very good, the problem is the staff! Walked in tonight, a Wednesday night. They had only 4 tables of people in the restaurant since it was 8pm. We stopped to get dessert after my daughters concert. When we walked in the female bartender (blond hair, did not get her name, not even sure if she was a bartender but that's where she spent her time) stared at me from the other side of the room/bar, didn't walk over to greet us. I had to kind of yell across the room/bar that we wanted to have dessert. She proceeded to turn to who I believe was the head waiter to tell him "they just want dessert". He came over and loudly stated "I'll seat you, but we don't usually seat people for dessert only, but I'll seat you". It was loud, and embarrassing, and not at all in a friendly tone. It was as if he was annoyed that we would even think to walk in for dessert. When we walked to the table my mother-in-law shared that he was loud and it was embarrassing, to which he did apologize. I don't have an issue if this is a restaurant policy, my issue is how rudely we were treated. If this was your policy you could have sat us and quietly explained the situation. We were 5 people and spent $100 on dessert, tea, and espresso. I would think at 8pm on a weeknight when you're slow you would embrace people with open arms. Not turn them off and turn them away! They could have the best food in Massapequa, but if they treat customers like that and they'll never return. I know I won't. read more

This place was so fun! My mother was so excited to try the pasta in the cheese wheel dish, not sure what it's actually called, and when it came to the table, I was allowed to stir the pasta inthe cheese! This dish was delicious, not overbearing with the cheese or sauce, and perfect al dente pasta. Ordered a chicken dishe: piccata and fish special. Everything was pretty good, but what really makes it is the service and the owner. Everyone was so personable and friendly. read more

Ordered delivery at 6:32pm. She said 45 minutes, and it came within a minute or two either way. But, order was wrong, wanted sausage parm hero, got sausage and peppers. Not a huge deal. Called back at 7:22pm. She apologized, said they'd make it right away and send it out. Great! 8:15pm still no hero. Called back. She said the order never went into the kitchen, and she was going to hand deliver the order (like I was supposed to be impressed with her initiative). 8:51pm is was delivered and it was cold, most of the cheese had run out of the sandwich and congealed in the tin. (I won't comment on the flavor because my anger is in the way and it wouldn't be a fair assessment.) We have a history of issues, with this place, so we go months and months between orders always saying let's give them one more chance. But, unless in the future I forget each of those instances, this will probably be the last straw, for us. read more

First impression when walked in was that the decor was fun authentic Italian look. We were greeted with a friendly welcome. Staff was very attentive and couldn't be any more helpful. Our first appetizer was the cold anti-pasta. The meats were sliced on site in front of you which was cool to see and delicious. We had a slab bacon app with a honey jam that was insanely good. Last with had the braciola special with homemade pasta. It's rare that a restaurant will carry this because it's labor intensive to make. I've never had a bad meal here. Last night they had an amazing list of specials. The squash flowers were tasty and the figs stuffed with burrata and wrapped with prosciutto had the right balance of sweet, salty and creamy. The veal giardinia was crispy, covered in arugula and beautiful tomatoes and plentiful. They had a fresh sea bass, big enough to serve 3 so 3 of us had it. Baked with potatoes and cherry tomatoes with a little red onion--the whole fish was deboned table-side and moist and delicious. Really delicious. Dessert was some amazing cannoli cream stuffed donut. Pulcinella since it first opened and this is our favorite restaurant. The owners, Ciro and Carlos, are amazing and make you feel like you are part of the family. The service is great and the staff is friendly and attentive. They also have live music a few evenings which is always fun. The food is outstanding and we have had birthday and retirement parties at this beautiful restaurant. Our guests have always raved about the quality and quantity of the food along with the excellent service. Ciro goes out of his way to ensure your event is perfect and has customized our menu choices whenever possible to add some special seasonal delights. Stopped in on our way back from a Wake. It was 9:20 PM or so and didn't know if we could do a full diner. They were pretty full based on Covid restrictions and offered us a setup at the Bar. The Bar staff attended to us and we were even greeted by the owner. I ordered Penne Pulcinella and my wife had the Agnolotti Pulcinella. Both dishes were excellent, a tasty treat to be enjoyed. The penne had a bit of heat which was a surprise and added depth to the flavor. We capped off our night sipping cappuccinos enjoying the festive ambiance which is great in itself. Big name place, well known in the area. Food rating is a 3. Service is a 4. Does appear from my visits that they can customize dishes for you especially if you know them. Aroma of cheeses as you enter. Decor fitting for the ambience they are trying to achieve. Hot bread served quickly with flavorful oil dip. We had the Fried calamari which was not fresh seafood. Tasted like it was frozen calamari As it was a bit rubbery to chew. Clams in white wine was light on flavor but presented nicely. Bolognese sauce was our pasta dish. Pasta cooked perfectly al dente, but the bolognese flavor gets a 3 rating. Great quick service. Large traditional menu selections along with daily specials. It was Covid time so I Gave it a Second-try visit because I heard so much about this place. Spacing was appropriate. Restaurant is clean. BUT a bit disappointed in the taste. After being told pick up at 5:30 by daughter waited until 6:30 and when she asked the women there she was very rude to my daughter. The food was cold , soggy and incomplete missing items we ordered. I'm on the fence on this review. Cary R and I had this place book marked for months as two of our good friends said they love this place. After going out over the weekend to another great Italian place, Cary wanted chicken parm so we decided to come here on Sunday for a quick bite. It was around 8pm so we m didn't have to deal with a crowd. The service was great. We ordered the chicken parm and Caesar salad. I didn't quite like the salad as the dressing has something sweet in it. The chicken prarm was delicious. The only reason I'm giving this place a three star is because is that it one of our major pet peeve listed on the menu. There is a $8 charge for sharing. This place was absolutely amazing. My boyfriend and I went on a Friday night for dinner and this place was nothing shy of amazing. We got the grilled octopus and tuna tartar for apps and it blew our minds. 1000% would recommend. Not only were apps amazing but dinner blew our minds. I got the Chilean sea bass that was cooked to perfection. The service also was incredible. All the waiters were extremely attentive to us and drinks came out very quickly. Espresso martini was 11/10. I wish I wasn't so full from dinner so I could've gotten dessert. The ambiance is also amazing, It gives an authentic modern Italian vibe. 100% would recommend for a date night or even to go with a family. Definitely coming back read more

My girlfriend, her family and I were at the Wading River location, not Massapequa. One of the hosts asked for paperwork for a service dog we had, which by law we do not need to show. He then seated us with the dog and right before I even touch my butt to my seat he is telling me to take my hat off which I had no problem doing so. We order drinks and eat bread and requested another serving from another employee. She said that they do not have anymore because they need it for the large party that just entered. Please beware of their price gouging tactics. The waiters act like they are helping you and then rip your cash out of your pocket. My wife and I brought 5 other couples to dinner on Jan. 27, 2024, and were greeted and seated properly. That is where the good experience ended. The waiters, in a laughing and jovial manner, recommended that they prepare an appetizer tray for the table. Not expecting to be deceived, we mistakenly agreed. They brought out a very large tray, not filled with appetizers, but it looked good. We never expected the appetizer tray to contain small orders of fried calamari, zucchini flowers, egg rolls (yes egg rolls cut in half), mini meatballs, and deep fried sardines (ugh), along with a side order of baked clams (12). Ok, our mistake for not directing normal appetizers, but the charge for the tray was $325.00. If we had ordered each separately it would have cost about $200.00. THIS WAS A COMPLETE RIP OFF, and no one ate the deep fried sardines. I have been to this restaurant before with just one other couple and did not have this negative experience. Please be aware that they are in the business of ripping off unsuspecting customers. Two days after the dinner, we contacted the owner. He was completely disrespectful and told us that those are the prices. The dinner plates were good but the tip off ruined the whole evening. I will not be going back there and neither will any of the 5 couples we invited. Rapefest.. I am giving 1 star to balance all these phony 5 star reviews. Went to have dinner at my secret Italian spot last Tuesday in Seaford, but I forgot that they were closed on Mon & Tues so my mom said let's try Pulcinella. Big mistake! - mozzarella en Carozza ; average but not traditional with anchovy sauce so it's really only homemade mozz sticks - shrimp parm - served with NO sides for $27, ordered linguine was given angel hair and waiter said yes this is linguine and walked away. Edges of 3 shrimp burned badly after being too close to the broiler. All in $32 for shrimp parm. Setting new highs for what was a below average dish -gnocchi sorrentino- extremely bland -penne pulcinello - not a large portion, served in a fancy bowl with huge rims. There was at least a half cup of oil at the bottom of the bowl -parpadelle bolognese- same type bowl as the penne. My nephew in 8th grade said there was not enough pasta in there to fill him up (and he ordered the mozz en carozza too)! Place was fairly crowded with but they seemed well staffed but they didn't refill water glasses till we were done with our food and I asked for cheese and the waiter looked at me and said "cheese yes be right back" but NEVER brought any cheese. Dinner for 2 adults and 2 pre teens was over $150 (no dessert and only 1 glass of wine). The place was full of "gavones" and very loud. Will NEVER go back. Overpriced and overrated!! read more

Very rude owners and staff. We had a party of 9 we called for reservation for 6 pm and were told it was not needed . We showed up at 6 and were told it would be a 90 minute wait. We asked why and were told that they were holding a large area for 15 people ( the rest of the restaurant was empty) . When we questioned their process we were told " our process works for us". I am writing a review on behalf of my 80 year old mother. My mother and her friend were looking forward to try Pulcinella. They usually meet one night each week to get together for dinner the last few months, since they are both now widowed and rather than stay in, decided to get out and enjoy a nice evening going to dinner and listening to live music and just spending some time catching up. Pulcinella offered live music this , 9/14/24, so they decided to go. Their reservation was for 6pm. As my mother was parking, her friend "B" called to see if she would be there shortly, since she was told when she walked in they would not seat her until everyone arrived, which i understand, BUT in order to wait at the bar inside, she was told she had to purchase a drink to stand there. Which is why B called my mother. They made an older woman feel anxious as though she would be kicked out of the place. So B ordered a Sauvignon Blanc, but was then handed a glass of red wine. She told the barmaid this wasn't what she ordered and the barmaid said "that's what you asked for". B has been ordering the same type of wine for a long time and knows what what type of wine she likes, as well as the difference between red and white and the wine she drinks is not red wine. At that point my mother walked in. They saw a table they asked to be seated at, but were told it was a table for four, so they were seated at a different table. Only a few minutes later two young ladies arrived and were seated at the table they had requested. So my mother figured their dates were on their way, but no one else arrived to sit with the young with them at the table the rest of the seating, but my mom and her friend were seated at the other table and handed menus which the waiter quickly ran down the with no prices mentioned on the specials. He immediately asked if they knew what they wanted to order. The said they still needed to decide. The waiter said he would be back in a minute, but also informed them that the entree had to be ordered at the same time as the appetizer. He returned in one minute to take their orders, which they felt rushed to place. The food arrived, they were not very impressed with. The entrees do not include any sides, so after ordering the veal they additionally ordered a vegetable for an additional $10 to accompany the plate of veal my mother ordered. My mother and her friend frequent Sophia's in Amityville and have had a wonderful experience each time they've been to Sophia's. Treated thoughtfully and the food is incredible, not being rushed out. Unfortunate that they decided to give something new a try and had such an awful experience. I hope the owner hears about this and that his or her mother is never treated this way when going to enjoy a nice evening with friends. Signed an extremely disappointed Restaurant goer. I had a GREAT EXPERIENCE at Pulcinella. The shrimp Sinatra was amazing. I also had the cheese pasta that was served from a bowl of cheese. Omggggg. The dessert fried cannoli is a must. I recently dined here, and unfortunately, it was a truly disappointing experience. They totally took advantage of our group of 8 people. The waiter offered to make us a platter of appetizers, and we happily agreed. Never in a million years did we think we would be charged $375 for appetizers!! The prices were exorbitant for the food we received. We couldn't help but feel taken advantage of and misled by their pricing. I tried to reach out to the owner and was told we got a great deal! The lush contemporary decor, the amazing engaging waitstaff, and an amazing menu that gets better when you hear the specials.
