Came to try out the burgers over at Pullman Market as I was in the San Antonio area for the weekend! I heard it was the best around - but after trying it, I'm a bit disappointed! A part of my review comes from the cooks unfortunately placing a large amount of garlic aioli on the burger (I asked for them to keep it off, not a huge fan of Aioli, especially not in large amounts). Had I checked my burger before leaving, I would've gladly just waited for another one, but I was already back at the hotel. Once biting into the burger, it was very pink on the inside, and pretty undone. I ended up not eating the burger after that first bite, and got something else delivered sadly - but would give them another chance as the cashier was very friendly and answered a couple of my questions. The fries were decent, and were fresh, so that's a plus. Hopefully they improve next time! read more

Five minutes of awkward silence (that felt more like five hours) later, we were finally acknowledged, though the wait could have been softened with a simple greeting. The sandwich itself arrived quickly and looked as good as advertised. The flavors didn't disappoint, though the overly toasted bread at the end turned the final bites into a bit of a chore. I love wandering around Pullman Market! It's one of my favorite places to spend an afternoon. I haven't eaten there yet (but I plan to), but I have shopped for ingredients for quick dinners on my way home from work. The wine section is well stocked and has a vast variety of wines for every taste. They have a great section of $20 and under wines, too! The marketplace gives me Central Market-meets-Eataly vibes, but I love it! Pullman has its own parking lot, but I usually park at the Koehler parking garage (free for 2 hours). I'll be bringing out-of-town visitors here, and I really need to try one of the restaurants out soon! read more

I came in here for looking for air conditioning and something refreshing on a hot summer day at the Pearl. I found just what I was looking for at the ice cream shop. We got the sandia-nada, a watermelon sorbet with chamoy and tajin. Super refreshing and mouth watering. We also got the monster cookie, which was basically a chocolate chip cookie with a hint of lemon - so unique and such a great combo! We walked through the entire market and there were some other eateries including burgers, sandwiches, rotisserie, coffee, and ceviche. I have yet to try these other places. They also have your typical groceries like fresh veggies, shelf stable items, wine, etc. read more

Unfortunately the last two times we went to burger by the butcher, we've been disappointed. This most recent time we came, we got super dry meat patties in The Waygu burgers that were tough and the fries were cold even though we asked them to make them fresh. We also went back to fife and farro recently. They apparently changed their cacio e pepe recipe to include both egg whites and egg yolk and it was super watery with no flavor. Heard about the Pullman market at the Pearl new place that sits behind jazz Texas. we walked through and just looked around. There are a lot of items to buy a lot of stuff to browse through. This place is really cool, Im glad it's opened and wish I lived closer. We really wanted to go to Fife and Farrow but it opens late Monday and Tuesday so we got burgers instead. It was delicious, like no other chicken sandwich I've had. The market items are higher cost than others but they also weren't so high that it discouraged me from buying anything. Wow! Great atmosphere. Great food. So far I've only tried Burgers by the Butcher but I'm coming back to try the others. This was the best burger I've had in a long time. Similar to Five Guys but thicker and not salty. I wasn't a big fan of the Pullman spice on the fries. Reminded me of carne guisada. But the food hall atmosphere took me back to the meat packing district in NYC. Friendly staff and clean restrooms for the win. But the restroom set up might throw you for a loop. When you enter you'll see both men and women at the handwashing sinks. Don't worry when you turn left you'll find separate rooms for men and women! Amazing and unique! I thought I was just going into Pullman Market to pick up a few vegetables, but I left with SO MUCH MORE! This place is like a miniature supermarket/food court except it's full of local, healthy and organic items. The layout gives you a walk-through experience that is exhilarating. The grocers area is at the entrance which gives sort of a Central Market look and feel. Next you walk into a florist shop area, coffee shop, ice cream shop and a sandwich shop. Moving further back there's an enticing bakery, a soap/lotions area, a tortilleria, and a sushi/fish shop. Next area is the wine area which was fantastic! As you peruse further back you encounter a bar,--and 3-4 restaurants (Italian, Mexican, and something else). There's also a nice sitting area for the people watchers. This place is like nothing I've seen before, especially in San Antonio. I felt as if I was in another city/state. If you're in The Pearl area, you really want to go see this place and the food was great! Parking is in the garage so you will have to walk across the Pearl but it's worth it. read more

This new market at the Pearl is fantastic. There's a great assortment of grocery items! I especially loved the spice section and how fresh the produce looked. There were also plenty of food options with a variety of things to choose from. Grabbed the cutest little cappuccino for the stroll through. Pullman Market is truly an experience. Every corner is well curated and each of those corners transports you into that areas specialty. We came in the morning when things were still opening up and was excited to stroll through the isles, discovering all the Texas sourced goods and produce. First on the agenda was a b-line for coffee and breakfast sandwiches. I went for the drip and the hubs had a latte. The coffee was great, I'm not sure if they rotate from local coffee options they sell or if they stick to a specific brand. Will have to find out next trip. I ordered The Scrambler and added rotisserie bacon. This sandwich was Scrambled Eggs, White Cheddar, House Aioli, T,O, on a Milk Bun. This was a nice take on a basic breakfast sandwich and was well made. I'm not sure that it sealed the deal for me but I am looking forward to trying some of the tacos next time around. The Hubs had the El Doblado. Folded Eggs, Rotisserie Bacon, Blueberry-Sage Jam, White Bread. His did not come with folded eggs for some reason. He said it was really good, liked the Texas toast but wished it had the folded egg that was listed in the description. All in all we had a nice first visit. It was a quick little stop that gives great anticipation leading up to the next visit. We really can't wait to try the restaurants but may have to go in order here and try another one of the quick stops for lunch first. Would love to see about the burgers since there is such a large buzz about 'em. read more

Throughout the entire space, you'll stumble upon the specialty grocer, and discover unique items, and locally sourced products. In addition to the produce and goods, Pullman Market features a butcher, sourdough bakery, some quick bite eateries, grab-and-go meals, beauty goods, and a few more traditional-style restaurants. Pullman Market has its own parking lot at the intersection of Newell Ave and Camden St. You can get your parking validated for up to two hours with any purchase at the market or the restaurants. I would anticipate the parking lot reaches capacity fairly quickly on the weekends. I really like their vision of connecting the community with regional producers, along with a new dynamic of connecting people with food and removing the ubiquitous transactional relationship. Overall, this is a place where I'd shop if I were seeking some specialty item that I could only purchase at a farmer's market or specialty vendor. Checked out the Pullman Market today. Definitely a cool spot, there are several places to eat, Pasta & Pizza, a Bakery, Ice Cream Shop, Cafe, Rotisserie Sandwich place, Ceviche & Oyster spot, Burger Stand & a lovely Mexican restaurant with a full bar. We are there & it was delicious! The chips were freshly made & the salsa was tasty, the green was quite spicy and delicious! We had the Elote & Tuna Tostada and Margarita. Both dishes were delicious & messy! The elote is on the cob & smothered in crema, cilantro, and spice. The tuna was fresh & nicely done with cucumber, aioli, and pickled onions. The restaurant is beautiful with high ceilings and lots of natural light. The only negative was that the water tasted a bit off, like it may have had some salsa touch it. read more
