I'm totally in the tourist crowd, and I've only been here in August (last year) and now June. Drinks are great and the food is so good. They accommodate diet needs with ease. Tonight I got the spinach mushroom pizza with cauliflower crust as take out. The truffle smell was amazing my whole car ride back to Copper. AMAZING food and great service! My husband and I had a great date night here when visiting Frisco. The open face ravioli is one of the best entrees I have ever had, it's a must have! It paired perfectly with my glass of cab. My husband had the lamb burger and he loved it, he said that it was one of the best burgers he's had. I loved that there was tons of gluten free options, as I eat gluten free. I was in heaven having so many options to choose from & ended the meal with a gluten free ice cream sandwich. Absolutely delicious! My husband and I were looking for a healthy but quick bite for lunch and decided to go to Whole Foods. When we saw the sign for Pure Kitchen, we decided to give it a try. My boyfriend and I tried this restaurant for the first time last night and it was a pleasant experience -- we each got one of their bowls, the portion sizes were great, and the food was very tasty. The restaurant is in a nice location away from the downtown area of Frisco, so its much quieter and peaceful which was just what we needed. I came here excited to try Pure Kitchen as a Summit County local and was looking forward to trying their veggie burger. I ordered a VEGAN veggie burger (I'm vegetarian) and a cocktail. All was well. Then I got the food. The menu stated that the burger was topped with tempeh bacon. When I got my veggie burger, it looked just like real bacon. I thought it was weird and made my boyfriend try the bacon first. He confirmed that it was definitely bacon. I flagged the chef down as he was walking around and asked if my plate had real bacon and he confirmed that it was real bacon and said he would fix it. He comes back with my same veggie burger, albeit cold, and it has tempeh. Nice dude! So you just took the bacon off my veggie burger and replaced it with vegetarian bacon? I'll eat the burger but that's very unprofessional. I eat the burger and deal with it and the server apologizes but is that really good enough? A restaurant that prides itself on their vegan/vegetarian food and I get served a veggie burger with meat? That's appalling. As a bartender in Summit County myself, I would NEVER recommend Pure to ANYONE after this experience. Also as a bartender in the county, I would have comped the meal or at least a few dollars from it- poor customer service. All I got was a below average apology. read more

One can see Pure Kitchen from the front of Whole Foods. You'd be best off saving the walk across the parking lot and eating at WFM. Why? I'm glad you asked. We were greeted promptly and seated right away. It took quite some time for a server to visit and they promptly asked if we'd decided on our orders. We pointed out that we hadn't even seen a menu. More time went by until a couple of menus arrived, and we were given about 10 seconds to read it and decide on something. I suggested they bring us some water while we read the menu. This accomplished with reluctance. We both ordered the duck tacos. Those ducks, if that's what they were, lived a rough life. The duck meat was dry, room temperature, and had a texture similar to fiberglass. The tortillas were similarly dry and cold. The next time we saw our server was when the check arrived. So...I'd give this place two starts for service and two stars for food. However, it's very close to Whole Foods, so you can get something to recover from your mediocre meal. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with how amazing this place was. I have celiac disease and the server was very accommodating and knowledgeable. Most of the menu is naturally gluten free and they have a dedicated frier. The kids menu had slightly more sophisticated choices as opposed to Mac and cheese and chicken nuggets, my kids loved the yogurt and rice noodles. The drinks were fun and original. Sitting at the bar and Chelsey the bartender and started with the Apple Collins which is the Breckenridge pear vodka, fresh pressed apple, fresh lemon, sage simple syrup, five spice rim and fresh not Meg which is clearly a party in my mouth. Got the Bacon wrapped dates as an appetizer which were delicious. My buddy got a glass of wine which was sexual chocolate and the bottle label was the best label I've ever seen. You have to read it at minimum. We ordered the Southwest bowl, and the pure Thai bowl and was truly impressed with the flavors. Clearly very friendly to carnivores to vegans. My wife and I went looking for a healthy meal. She has significant health issues which require a very strict diet. The menu had many selections that would accommodate her. The head chef, Craig, and wait staff over heard us discussing the menu. Craig came over and discussed options he could create to enhance our meal, and brought several samples to try. They even grow many of their vegetables on site. The food was outstanding, the wait staff and kitchen staff were outstanding. Craig's focus on customer service was above and beyond. Been standing here for ten minutes. Six different employees have made a point of not acknowledging us so far. There IS a hostess, but she's running through the ol' "setting up a six-top counts as performing a job duty, which TOTALLY EXEMPTS ME FROM HAVING TO INTERACT WITH CUSTOMERS. BECAUSE I'M ALREADY PERFORMING A JOB DUTY" routine. She's been doing that for the whole ten minutes and has been awkwardly staring at her shoes each of the nearly-a-dozen times she's shuffled past the long line of people waiting to be acknowledged by her. Why you'd need to make nearly a dozen trips to the back to set up a six-top, and why you couldn't even bother to say "I'll be with you in a few minutes" to the person standing at the front of the line of people waiting to be acknowledged, I don't know. I only spent three years of my life working at restaurants, and this is clearly advanced restaurant management theory. All of the other employees are also doing the über-hipster "I'm going to look at my feet so I don't actually make eye contact with a customer, because then I might have to ACTUALLY INTERACT WITH A CUSTOMER" routine. Which demonstrates that they are hipsters, AND THEREFORE TOTALLY AWESOME, but doesn't actually, yanno, move the line forward. (But to be fair, a hostess who ignores the line for fifteen minutes, as she has now done, in order to spend fifteen minutes setting up a single table, isn't exactly moving the line forward, either.) So my partner and I walked out after spending fifteen minutes hovering vaguely around the front of the restaurant feeling like supplicants and hoping we might eventually be ACTUALLY ACKNOWLEDGED by some employee. Any employee. Just eye contact would have been great. Any employee at all. I get it it's a ski town on the weekend. I get it that it's a couple of weeks before the Super Bowl. I get it that the restaurant is staffed by awkward hipsters who can't deal when it's busy because they're lazy shy morons who are too busy engaging in a mime-style identity-building performance in which if they ever look at an employee THEY TOTALLY LOSE THE GAME. But maybe once in a while, even when it's busy, the hostess could pull her head out of her ass far enough to look at the door and interact with the people who are milling around hopefully there. Or another employee could make eye contact with people in the long line of people waiting by the door. Or fucking SOMETHING. Because you know what's NOT great customer service? Having all of the dozen visible employees shuffle around awkwardly for a quarter hour totally ignoring people waiting to get seated. read more

This restaurant was a huge disappointment. The menu looked great and we are gluten free so we decided to try it as we passed through Frisco. Huge disappointment. First the green juice was more of a sparkling or soda water with a squirt of something green. It was not worth the expensive cost for what we got for the juice. Next our main courses. They took an extremely long time to come out, when our food came out most of it was not hot. My daughters rice dish was cold, the rice was hard and had no flavor. My husbands flatbread was cold, but was the best dish of the four we ordered. The rice noodle bowl was mushy and the tuna was not fresh. I only ate a few bites before I couldn't stomach it. We visited for a weekend lunch and loved the light-filled, super-clean space. Everyone in our group -- with varying levels of dietary restrictions -- loved their food. I was a BIG fan of the duck tacos, and everyone was fighting for a taste of my friend's ravioli dish. I also heard rave reviews of the lamb burger and forbidden rice noodles. Oh and don't forget the cocktails -- I'm not a fan of beets but everyone else at my table was sucking down beet martinis while I enjoyed one of the best old fashioneds I've ever had! WOW! Let's just start with that. When I walked into the restaurant I immediately felt a warm and comfortable feeling. The place felt fresh and exciting, My buddy and I got to sit at the "Chefs Table" which is right in front of the whole operation, the kitchen, Host stand, and had a slight view to the bar and the rest of the restaurant. We started off with two cocktails! a Beet Martini... It was PHENOMENAL Then I had a Strawberry Mojito, was also delicious but lets get to the food! We started with the Endive Salad. Had a interesting twist for a base, was a noodle based salad with things you would not imagine go together but it all worked out, the different explosions of flavors in your mouth was absolutely amazing. Then got to the try there Special that was going on that night, was a Wagyu Steak with this amazing sauce, on a bed of what looked like romaine leafs. but either way it was delicious. Next was the Kumquat Pork-Belly Gyro Platter, which was also interesting but absolutely delicious! For Desert we had there chocolate cake, It was gluten free and Vegan, I am neither but boy OH BOY! was it delicious!! Refreshingly awesome. I'm not a big burger/pizza fan so dining in Frisco and Copper can be limited. This place has both on the menu so they're covered, but the menu is also crammed full of healthy options, both light and heavier. Farm to table, mainly locally sourced. Good wine and cocktail list. Easy to find (just off I-70), easy parking, great service and reasonably priced. They don't take bookings and it filled up very quickly when we were in. read more
