I've eaten here twice and I'm not sure if I want to come again for takeout. It was late and this was again the only spot I could fine as a take out. I decided hey let's give it another try. I order the chicken lo mein. The portion was not as great compare to other take out places in China town I've eaten at. Also most places in Chinatown do not tax if you pay cash, this one for some reason didn't want to take my credit card and still tells me cash only. The lo mein was mediocre like last time. It was mostly noodles and very little chicken. The noodles were very salty compare to other places with a similar dish. They don't seem to use other ingredients compare to other Chinese take out with traditional sauces not just soy sauce. Price wise, I could have went to some other take gotten more chicken and portion. They went extremely cheap on the amount of chicken and food in general. I would only recommend this place if it's late and you have little to no option. Ambiance seems clean but the review was for food, price and portion. read more

I was craving wonton soup and was going to consume it as I worked, no time to eat out. Let me just say, finding a good Chinese restaurant these days is hard to find. Whether I'm in Brooklyn or Manhattan it is getting extremely difficult. The only Chinese restaurant that I really like and is consistently good is Joe Shanghai on Pell Street. I ordered the soup and steamed vegetable dumplings. The wonton soup looked good but looks are deceiving. The wontons were plentiful but the broth was bland. Usually, wonton soup comes with slivers of roasted pork and the chives (?). This broth had neither... The dumplings were tasteless and I was looking for the cup of sauce and didn't see it. Thus, I had no dipping sauce.. until I emptied out the delivery bag and found "it" under the fortune cookies. The pouch housed my much needed sauce but it was too late because I unfortunately discarded the dumplings. So disappointing... Well next time it's Joe Shanghai... This review is for delivery only. Lived in Chinatown most of my life and was like oh why haven't I tried out this place that's 4.5 stars? And once I tried it, I realized why. Ordered takeout so don't know there service or decor. The dumplings and wonton skin here are super thick cut, which makes you feel like eating chunks of rubber instead. The wonton soup itself was ok but the wontons and dumplings are subpar for Chinatown. I long for the days when Chinese restaurants can reclaim back the word Panda and not have a negative connotation associated with it - but it looks like Panda Express and Panda Chinese Restaurant aren't the saviors. read more

Relatively inexpensive for decent sized portions, but if you are getting noodles or fried rice they skimp on the meat. Beef chow fun ...where's the beef? Roast pork fried rice ...well, you get the idea. I'd say, standard take out, but I'm a foodie so I doctored it up when I received it. Added scallions to my sesame noodles, chili crisp to chow fun, order a protein dish and mix it with carb dish, added fried egg to up the protein to the fried rice ...etc. For some, I guess it would defeat the purpose of delivery, but perhaps the restaurant will read this and reconsider improving? It's not a sit down restaurant, so overhead is low, so they would be smart to invest in upgrading the food! read more

My friend and I ordered hot and sour soup, chow fun (one with beef and one veggie) and broccoli with white rice. The hot and sour soup was very thick and gelatinous, the chow fun was unappetizing and the broccoli dish was mediocre. The food, in general, had no taste. I live around the corner and I've tried all the Chinese places in the neighborhood and this is a very solid choice for Chinese American, the sesame chicken is spot on, good ratio of meat to coating and crispy and dumplings are perfectly doughy and the dumpling sauce is delicious they use ginger and garlic. They are so nice, order directly from them, they deliver. Dumplings are better than deluxe green Bo and they make good fried rice. Sesame noodles are good too but I add extra vinegar to them because they are not acidic enough :) read more

I'll start by saying they do provide large takeout portions. If your main aim is a lot of food, then this is a good option. The food is by no means bad, but by New York Chinese takeout standards it is severely lacking. I placed an Uber order so I cannot comment on ambience or service. And I am loathe to give a bad review to anyone. BUT this food had NO TASTE, WHATSOEVER. The steamed broccoli was perfectly steamed (obviously, no flavor here!) The white rice was perfectly cooked, nice and dry and ready for sauce, just the way I like it. I ordered Roast Pork and Broccoli, Pork LoMein, and Shumai. What can I say? The roast pork was tough and flavorless. The LoMein was a thick noodle, which I personally didn't like but, maybe, someone else would. But the problem was THERE WAS NO FLAVOR IN THE SAUCES!! No ginger, no garlic, no scallion, no oyster sauce, no rice vinegar, NO QUALITY SOY SAUCE - no nuthin'!! I am in shock. How do people stay in business? I know it's getting harder and harder to find good Chinese food in Manhattan, but this was an unbelievable disappointment. It could have come out of a can. read more

I really enjoyed my experience with PCR. It was good food that was flavorful and left me feeling full but not stuffed. I ordered the King Pao Shrimp with an Egg Roll. The food was fresh and and was good quality. The ordering process was fairly seamless and got to me in a reasonable manner. Best Chinese takeout I've had during Covid. We've tried lots of places and food has been greasy or subpar. Panda always arrives hot and tastes fresh. Food is somehow cleaner with fresh ingredients. This is our go to Take-out and hopefully will be for a long time! We have recommended to our friends, neighbors and family and everyone agrees. Definitely a good chinese place. Given how late they're open i'm tempted to give them 5 stars. Dumplings are amazing-- old school NYC style (very doughy) so transplants might be put off but otherwise trust me you'll love them. My generally anti-takeout boyfriend is always up for Panda (big fan of the pork fried rice). The brown sauce on the chicken and broccoli is very thick which is great, but the flavor isn't perfect (that's basically where they lost the star honestly).
