Didn't really like my experience here & probably the worst AYCE Korean BBQ place I've tried yet. Maybe I should've done the hotpot? I was craving Korean bbq while in San Jose and YakiniQ was closed. I ended up deciding on QPOT. You order off an iPad which is pretty straightforward. I liked that you could order anything through it without having to wave down a server. Everything came out relatively fast. The brisket quality was bad though. It was so dry. Wasn't fatty, soft, or tender like good brisket should be. When cooked, it was kind of tough. There's a DIY sauce bar... but that's more for hotpot. Wish there was sauces like ssamjang or whole pieces of garlic. And lastly, do not get the corn cheese unless you want mayo and corn thrown together in a roll of tinfoil. Couldn't even finish it. Ordered japchae which was a huge portion but my bf said it was the worst he's ever had :/ However price was pretty affordable (about $20/PP) so I have to give them that. Service was pretty good but it was really hard to get the attention of staff. Took a couple tries before we could finally wave somebody down to bring us the check. Wait is long but they have yelp check in! Lots of seating. BBQ dinner is 27.99 for adults and $3 extra to add hot pot. If one person adds hotpot, everyone has to add it. You order everything through an iPad at your table. I had to order pickled daikon through the waiter. They have a sauce bar with things like minced and whole garlic, jalapeños, cilantro, and ~ 10 or more sauces, they have self serve salt and green tea salt too. The variety of BBQ meats is average but I thought they had a great selection of items for hot pot. One of the better KBBQ places in the bay in my opinion. Service and is good too. You finally decide to come here on a busy night, but you honestly don't want to wait an hour and a half in the parking lot or the overstuffed waiting area. Q Pot has it solved - Use Yelp reservations and that's what we did. What would have taken a 90 minute wait, only took 15 minutes. Ambiance - is a little too loud with all that EDM playing, so I'll have to remove one star. Appetizer and sides - It's whatever you order on the tablet, Japchae is good, cheese corn is good. Sauce - No you don't have to wait forever and a day like other K BBQ spots for service on sauce, go to the sauce bar and make your own sauce... like an adult. Meats - They are all okay and typical meats brisket, short ribs, bulgogi, spicy calamari, steaks; the meats that are basic and what you came for - but for me is dinner time and my favorite... BEEF BELLY. Make sure you the order every 3 minutes on the tablet so that you don't run out of meat while cooking. Let me tell you, in all my years of living I have never had the honor of eating korean barbecue such as what I had consumed at Qpot. The ambiance was perfect, the food was flavorful, and my server (Jack) provided service behind measure. I had mentioned to him that it was my buddy's birthday and he brought a group of his coworkers over to our table to sing to him. What a thoughtful gesture! To be honest I think Jack would make an amazing maître d' of sorts. He seemed to be working so hard I believe he deserves New Years and a Christmas Eve off! Hot pot or kbbq? Why not both?! That's the benefits of going to qpot. For $3 additional on top of the typical price, you can get your individual hot pot with kbbq, opening up a new menu for you to order from as well. The wait can get pretty long and there is a minimum to # of people required to get a reservation. Weekdays differ from weekends so always double check! It never hurts to call. If you don't meet the requirements there is a mini bar you can wait at but you have to buy drinks. There's a limit to the amount of premium items you can order at a time but you can always split it up to several orders at a time which will keep the food coming instead of ordering together and having wait periods until your food comes out. A few personal favorites of mine are the garlic shrimp and bulgogi. The garlic shrimp has been peeled for you and marinated. You usually don't see this in a lot of places because the amount of effort required to peel the shells off for customers. The bulgogi is tender and flavorful as well. There is a lot of sauce that comes with the raw meat so feel free to redrizzle it on your meat for that extra kick when it's almost done cooking. read more

I have been here twice now, both times with my husband. We only come here on special occasions due to the price, but we've really enjoyed it! As a warning, don't bring your vegan and vegetarian friends - the options are really limited, but that should be expected at a place like this. They have a ton of different meat/seafood for you to grill and they keep it coming. Both times we've gone have been on Weekdays and it has been pretty empty, but that just meant that our server was that much more attentive. Of course my inner pig opted for both. Yet, wrong wrong mistake. It's just too overwhelming to eat both. Just stick to one! You order through a screen and a server will bring it out to your table. You are also able to make your own dipping sauce at the sauce station. KBBQ- bomb. Its non-frozen meat & very flavorful. You are allowed to order 8 items every three minutes. this is my all time favorite ayce KBBQ spot &i'm glad that it's close to home. i've been here many times &was never disappointed. you get a max of 2 hours to eat all the kbbq you want. they have a touch-screen ordering system at each table which makes ordering food very convenient with just a touch of a button. the servers are very attentive too. the only thing i'm not a fan of is their sauce station. it'd be cool if sauces were on the list of items on the menu instead of having to get up. this way the stations won't be overcrowded/messy with people getting it on their own. other than that, they have a good selection of menu items to choose from &they're not frozen at all. my faves would have to be the : pork belly, premium steak, & q pot special steak. I don't know why I've never heard of this place. Service is so FAST and we came during a busy time. The servers, not just ONE SERVER, but all of them, were so attentive. Rarely had to ask for a water refill or a change of the grill. They just knew to pay attention when my water was getting low or our grill was getting dirty. Also noticed they have really good music playlist. My friends and I wanted to stay after just to listen to the playlist haha. Just a really nice place to hang out and talk with friends while eating some good food. It came down to $40 a person after tips and tax but I think it's super worth. read more

We were in San Jose and came here for dinner. It was POPPIN with people crammed in the waiting area and outside. We only had to wait ten minutes for a table. Service was decent. There were tablets at each table- just tap what you want, tap ENTER and the food came out fast. It was all-you-can-eat hot pot and hibachi, everything fresh. They have outside dine out as well in the tent but it was already 9pm that we just got called in . So please be aware for the long waits . Inside was nice , packed with hungry costumers , and head over to our seating area where the host drop all the side dishes down while we waited for our waitress. As I was sitting we were clueless , we thought there was a code where you can scan to take orders , no one came until 3 mins later . I had to stop a waitress to asked on where and how to order . So there's a tablet that's hanging and I guess you order whatever and they bring to the table . As we were ordering , we decided on the starter we choose our rice , cheese corn , and fried chicken bites for our HANGRY 4 year old to start off and none of them ever came out . So we skipped and order the meats for our bbq and then we also did hot pot as well it was an extra $5 per person so we ordered our veggies and meats for the hot pot . After that there was no option for choosing dipping sauce on the tablet so we had to ask for some and they brought out 6 different kinds after a 10 mins wait on that . We ordered rice again to see if it comes and still never out . No lettuce wraps either which we ordered that 3 times . So we just sat there just ate whatever that came to us . The table across from us had gotten their lettuce rice and starters with the same waitress that we had as well . He walked right pass us a few times without refilling my water . I had to stop him to ask for more . Never came up and checked on us once to see how we are doing , I understand that he had a pretty big table that day next to us as well but we felt like we didn't matter because he was going to get his tips off of the big table anyways . AYCE KBBQ is one of life's many joyous pleasures. AYCE Hot Pot is another one. Putting them together to form a fat food baby, sounds like a match made in heaven. What sucks is that your entire party has to choose between the two or the combination of both at varying prices. To be honest, having the combo of both would be a challenge with their table set up. Ultimately, we went with just KBBQ tonight for our party of 11 and were already struggling since there was only a single grill on an long table. I'm not a fan of using tablets to order food, but someone else at my table worked it so it was pretty much a non-issue. Some might find it annoying. They have a decent variety of items from beef, chicken, pork, seafood, and even oysters to my surprise. I didn't really find the meat to be that flavorful or tender with the exception of a few beef options, but the dipping sauce bar helped out with that a little bit. I'm a sesame/ginger on one dish and chili oil/garlic on the other kind of guy. Another thing that I found disappointing was how each order was so small. Luckily, our service was pretty decent and our group had their bellies ready so we had meat rolling through like an assembly line. My favorite KBBQ place to go during non-Covid. I didn't know they were doing delivery but, I found them on DoorDash under "QPot"! I'm pretty sure they're now my favorite DoorDash place. Look at this. They gave me sides, sauce, plus I got to pick two meats for my main course! I loved the attention to detail as well because, without me needing to prompt the driver, the restaurant packaged my lunch with utensils and napkins. I think 2 stars is a bit generous. This ayce is always busy and lively so I took that as a good sign. I've been here twice, the first time it was okay and the food was good, the food came out pretty quick when we placed the order on the tablet. The second time I came here I noticed how dirty the place and everything in there was. From the moment we were brought to our table, our shoes were sticking to the floor. There was food and crumbles all over the seat. The end of the table that meets the wall is filthy and filled with like little pieces of food from who knows how long. The plates they give you at the beginning were dirty and looked like it hadn't been washed. The idea of the self serve sauce bar is great, but it was disgusting to look at. There was different kinds of sauces spilled and mixed into each other. And the bowls you use for the sauce, ALL of them were filthy. The bowls are stacked in a bin next to the bar and you're suppose to grab a bowl and pour your sauce. But all the bowls were so dirty that you would have to dig just to find a decent one. Our friend's birthday is today and we've all been stuck at home with Shelter in Place, so we couldn't be together to celebrate. She's been missing KBBQ, but we were able to use DoorDash to send her favorite raw meats to her house for the best do it yourself surprise! Q Pot included all the banchan and everything with the order too. Super grateful for you all for fulfilling our order and more. At first I was hesitant about the wait time but hubster insisted of going there. We arrived around noonish on Sun and was seated within 10 min. The staff was super friendly especially our server. He walked us through the process and fully recommended us what to get. Here are the step for newbies like me 1st - decide if you want AYCE bbq or combination. We picked combo. Should try their house special and miso hotpot. 2nd - use the iPad to order your broth and all the ingredients that you want. Make sure to go get the dipping sauces. 3rd - continue ordering meat or whatever you want until you can't handle it anymore. 2 hours limit for eating. RESTROOM. do not go to the restroom here unless you're EXTREMELY desperate. i promise you that i am not exaggerating, but it is one of the grossest restrooms ive been in. its cramped, dark, and the floor is always strangely oily. the toilets also often break and dont flush maybe 85% of the times ive been here. there was also fresh blood on the floor of the big stall... i was legit traumatized. i understand its difficult for the employees to maintain but please try harder!! another worry is the CROSS CONTAMINATION. its common sense to not use utensils which have touched raw meat on cooked meat, however, they have only gave us one pair of tongs and scissors :(( overall, this spot would have received a much higher rating if the hygiene was more.... hygienic read more

I invited my 2 employees to Qpot yesterday along with my daughter and my mom. We came there at 3 pm, the restaurant was 80% empty but we still had to wait 20 minutes. The food was just ok, not too terrible but the service was unexceptable. The servers didn't care about my table at all , they left us waiting and didn't clean up any plates until we asked for few times. And it took 30 minutes for them the get my daughter a folk.. BUT, the next table- 2 white guests were very well taken care of. The worst part was 4 over 5 people of us got sick! I'm thinking of report this problem to Health Department. read more
