Qpot is a great place. The food and service are excellent. Theres plenty of parking, the atmosphere is spacious and nice. Theres a bar with beers on tap. A self serve sauce bar with many delicious sauces. The bathroom even has a mouth wash dispenser, I've never seen that before. Christine the manager is awesome! I have never had a bad experience here. If it is your first time, I would recommend coming with someone who knows how to maneuver through cooking your own Korean BBQ or how the soups work. My brother is a great chef and loves this place. The wait time varies but is slower during the week especially during lunch time. We have gone for dinner and it's been an hour wait. The staff overall is very nice and very attentive. The food is so good. I can't stress enough how fun it is to be around cooking your own food and having an unlimited supply of it. By the way it's all you can eat! They have great fresh vegetables. We always order the tamarind soup. It's similar to a sweet and sour soup. The Korean short ribs are my favorite for BBQ but the meat you can cook in your soup are also good too! If you get overwhelmed or uncertain the staff are pretty understanding and helpful ! I'm a big fan of hot pot but the BF wasn't after numerous subpar experiences (until we came here!). This place came highly recommended as having good quality hot pot and lots of other options. We arrived before 5PM on a Saturday and there was a 15 minute wait for a party of 4 (not too shabby!). Immediately upon seating, we got down to biz-nasty and started ordering from the touch menu (oh, you fancy). Oh, but what? We could only order 4 items at a time and there was a 3-minute wait for meats and 1-minute wait for veggies. Curious to know how much that actually helps with traffic. (Also curious to know if a lot of patrons exceed their 2-hour max time limit...) Anyways, here's what we ordered ($28/pp for hot pot and grill): - A couple of Premium Steaks (they give you butter to rub on it) - Thai Tom Yum hot pot (perfect for my scratchy throat and clearing my sinuses. If you want it spicier, there are peppers at the sauce bar) - A sh*t ton of Sliced Beef - Fresh shrimp (also to add flavor to our hot pot) - Udon, bok choy, napa cabbage, enoki mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms Really love their sauce bar, particularly the fresh chopped garlic, sesame oil and salt/pepper mix. I recommend adding the garlic and green onions to the Tom Yum hot pot. Overall, this place is solid. The one not-so-positive thing that I'll say about the experience is that we felt rushed and constantly busy throughout the meal. While I love having the option of grilling and doing hot pot, it was tough trying to cook the meat, tweak the heat on my hot pot, clear the table as new items arrived, order a few more items at a time on the touch screen, and get down to grubbing. Came here with a party of 7 this past weekend for a friend's birthday during lunch. The restaurant wasn't very packed and had quite a few open tables, but nevertheless, we still had to wait 30 or so minutes from the time the first person arrived. Upon being seated and taught how to use their computerized ordering system, the waiter informed us that it will be dinner pricing. No where on their website indicates that weekends are always dinner pricing throughout the day. I was pissed. Everyone else was also suddenly in a bad mood because we came here thinking that it would be lunch pricing (about 7 dollars less per person) and the waiter gave us a nice surprise. This restaurant needs to be more transparent for their pricing model, as their website has no indication of this little rule. I'm going to have to compare this place to Gen KBBQ because that place does kbbq right. Although this place also combines kbbq with hotpot, we immediately opted out of that option because we didn't want to add more cost. There is a drastic difference between Gen and Q Pot: portions. Gen gives a lot of brisket and other meats at a time. Here, you will need to keep spamming the tablet every 4 minutes to get small dishes of meat delivered to your table. Meat quality, however, at Q Pot is superb. It tastes great and the seafood selection is a nice touch over Gen. To make matters worse, a group party of 7-8 will have literally one bbq grill to use. I looked over at our neighbors and they had one grill for a party of 4. If you do the math, basically our table is designed to be inefficient when it comes to cooking and ordering. You're under the same ordering limit and you cook with a lot less real estate. You're better off coming with max 4 people because Q pot doesn't have many available grills for larger parties. I am giving this place 2 stars because 1) hidden pricing, 2) small portions that come out slowly, which cuts into the 2 hr time limit, 3) inefficient amount of grills given the party size. What Q pot does well is 1) DIY sauce bar, 2) good meat selection, 3) not too crowded, 4) the ambiance is a lot calmer than Gen (aka not a nightclub feel that makes you want to cover your ears while eating), 5) parking is not bad. If it were up to me, I'd skip this place and go to Gen. This place may have shorter wait times, but Gen is expanding rapidly in the Bay Area, so the crowds should be diluting soon. read more

Q Pot was pretty cool. The look of the Restaurant, amenities like draft beers and being able to make reservations is very cool. Our reservation was for 7 PM and we were promptly seated 7ish once everyone in our party arrived. The beef, pork and oysters were very fresh. There is a sauce and condiments station that can be a long wait depending how many people is in line. It's about $30 for all you can eat grill and if you want all you can eat hot pot You have to add $3. Their rule is, if 1 person orders both all you can eat grill and all you can eat hot pot, everyone at the table have to too. There were 2 things I definitely did not like. My daughter is 11 years old and weighs 69 lbs. They charged her Full Price because they felt she was too tall. WTF? Not age determined, but by an eye test that she is too tall so they have to charge her adult rate? What if she was shorter but chubby? Will they charge her FULL rate cause she too robust? The 2nd thing is, we had a party of 4 adults and 3 kids. They charged Tipped us! I use to be a server at Uno Pizzeria, we would charge tip on parties of 6 or more BUT never counted kids in that count. My kids are 15, 13, and 11. I always tip at least 20 percent so they cheated themselves. Then there was the we have another party waiting when there were clearly other tables available on a Thursday. This is place is great for kbbq and very close for the Evergreen Area. The best time to go is lunch time, 12pm-3pm, since it's cheaper and you pretty much get everything except for the kalbi beef. However, q-pot special and premium steak make up for it---nice and buttery lol. The place is very spacious and clean. I admire the organization and team work as every worker helps pitch in regardless of who your server is. Took off a star because I don't like the sauce station. I am a huge hotpot fan but the soup here just isn't appetizing, I only recommend ordering the bbq. The bbq is self cooking as it is as at many Korean bbq places. If you're looking for service, this place isn't it.. the servers lack checking in with your table and everything is self use such as ordering through the tablet on the table. There is also a goodwill in this plaza which is useful if you like to thrift and kill time while waiting for your table. We figured it was busy so it was okay, so we kept ordering more things. Later on, more servers kept coming up to us and trying to give us orders that were for other tables. The meats were pretty good, easy to cook, and servers came around frequently to ask if we wanted a grill change. I have found a great alternative spot to Gen Korean BBQ! We had a party of 10 and with a reservation, they properly sat us down once everyone arrived. Convenient ordering system on their iPad that they have stationed at each table. Soon enough, a server comes by to give you the items you ordered electronically. Nice! Great meat quality, and I like their marination on most choices! For prime steak and such, we seasoned it ourselves and it ended up being very buttery (therefore delicious). Our waitress was very attentive in changing our grill and collecting empty plates. Water was constantly refilled quickly. No problems in getting additional Kim chi servings or rice. The corn cheese was just super disappointing for me. :(. It wasn't really cheesy and didn't really cook too well on our stove. Also, the popcorn chicken we ordered was cold and wasn't crisp when it came out. I was kinda disappointed to be honest. The meats were well seasoned and the japchae was pretty good. But it's like it keeps getting worse. 1st time: people screamed at us across the premises accusing us of walking out on the bill. 2nd time: i literally watched a server pour water/oil on a fire making the center burst into a high flame towards a customers face. 3rd time: food was basically nonexistent as was our server. Today: we are trying to pay for the bill. Its my dad's birthday. But the manager couldnt take the bill/payment. The server couldnt be found. I love the concept of having korean bbq and hot pot at the same time. And it is even better when you have individual hot pot too! You get your private little pot with a community grill. To avoid really long waits, don't forget to use the Yelp App to check in your party prior to getting to the restaurant. You can also use the Yelp app to check the estimated wait time to seating. I find it pretty rare to have a restaurant offer korean bbq and hot pot at the same time. That's why I am so grateful that QPot exists. Personally, I do prefer when you order your menu items off an iPad since you don't necessarily need a waiter to come around before putting your order in. After ordering, your items will come to you pretty fast. And they have plenty of items to choose from for both hot pot and for korean bbq. Don't be afraid to try something new, you'll never know that you like it if you never try it. (Hint Hint: Pork Cheek is really good)! Don't forget the sauce bar to in the back of the restaurant, you'll definitely want to hit that up to flavor up your meats and veggies. While we had a good experience at QPot, it can get so hectic for the waiters. Our table was missing a few dishes from time to time. And we definitely notified our waiter. And I'm sure it can get super confusing for them. But, don't hesitate to go looking for your missing dishes. I think the best way to get your waiter's attention is to use the "Help" feature on the iPad. If you wait around for your waiter to walk by, it'll be ages before you get their attention. With the help feature, you can ask for regular help, drink refills, hot pot broth refills, grill changes, etc. Definitely use this HELP FEATURE, it'll save you from waiting around endlessly. It is kind of pricey, but you're getting this two-for-one kind of deal. You can opt to get each type of dining separately, but what's the fun in that? And it is only a few dollars more to get both. But, we expected to pay $40+ dollars if you get kbbq, hotpot, and a drink. Since I love the kbbq and hot pot together concept so much, I'll definitely be back. Hopefully, other restaurants with this concept open up. I would love to try other ones. read more

I've been to Q Pot several times and I've had great experiences but also very bad experiences. Overall, the quality of each experience decreased with each visit. Food: great tasting food. I feel the meat quality is high. The marinated meats have delicious flavor. Usually each order is consistent in size and taste. However, the exception is the brisket. Probably the most common type of meat at any kbbq place yet each order only comes with 6-8 very small slices. Bonus: they have a sauce bar with a variety of both sauces and seasonings. Service: as with any restaurant, service varies depending on your server and how busy it is at the moment. Unfortunately, I can't say that I've ever had anything above an "acceptable" level of service because more often than not, my experiences here were sub-par. Some of the food ordered never arrived, despite ordering multiple times and receiving other dishes within the same order. It also took 15 minutes just to receive our check. The only saving grace is that our drinks are refilled before needing to ask for refills and they change our grills frequently enough to avoid build up. Miscellaneous: one of the food runners (girl with blue hair) who brought us some plates spilled what could only be described as "meat juice" over my girlfriend's purse. I don't think she even knew it happened, but it's something to be aware of so it doesn't happen again to someone else. It could've been a person, which would have been much worse. They just reopened a few days ago and I ate outside over the weekend with my friends. It was so tasty and yummy! 2 pounds of meat, your custom sauces, and veggies for about $30. Two eat for this amount which is still a great deal! Quality is always yummy here. What can I say about this place? Its a hip busy place thats perfect for Korean BBQ and hotpot. This has to be one of my favorite places in the South Bay. There is a little computer you can order from after you sit down. They also have their own sauce bar you make your own sauces from. Walk in, get seated and order your drinks. From there the waiter or waitress will enable the computer screen at the end of the table. You get to pick 3 premium meats and 3 normal ones. You also order your hot pot from the little tablet. Try all the meat, it is all very good and you should have no regrets. The price is worth it too! I believe it's about 30 a person for all you can eat. HORRIBLE SERVICE from start to finish. Don't bother putting your name down on the waitlist. We got there around 11:30am on a Monday. When we went inside, no one was at the host stand to greet us. There was a sign instructing customers to put their names on the waitlist and go wait in your vehicle until your table is ready. Our estimated wait time was 12-20 minutes. After waiting for 25 minutes minutes, we receive no updates from them. We then saw a group of 8 pulling into the parking lot and got seated right away when they walked in. My husband decided to go in to see what's going on and that's when the server told him that they're not going by the waitlist! So, we just wasted 30 minutes. Their ordering process hasn't changed other than the sauce bar. You'd have to go up there with your server and they will get whatever sauce you want for you. Don't bother ordering any flavored iced teas either. You're going to get a carbonated drink with the flavored syrup (see pictures for reference). According to our server, their iced teas have changed and they're "fizzy" now lol It took 20 minutes to get our drinks while the party who came after us received their drinks right away. Social distancing does not exist here. There were no spacing between tables. There was a group who was seated right behind us. Same booths attached. Now, I've dined enough times indoors/outdoors during the pandemic that when you need to get up and step away from your table, you need to have your mask on. Don't expect that from here. There were people walking by our table going towards the sauce bar without their masks multiple times and the staff didn't even bat an eye. They don't keep track of how many people are going in and out either. The section that was opened for dining was close to being filled when we were leaving. We were there for almost TWO HOURS and only received one round of our orders correctly. Total waste of money and time. Our server never checked up on us. When we finally got his attention; he'd apologize for the "wait." He apologized for the wait at least 3-4 different times *eye roll* When asked to speak with a manager, there's isn't one. At least not until 4pm. So, no one's in charge during the lunch shift? That's ridiculous and unacceptable. Another server stepped in and asked what can they do to make things right (customer service 101 of how to handle a complaint; you'd ask this question hoping to defuse the problem). They couldn't even come up with a solution. They couldn't even take out that BS of an iced tea from our bill. I actually feel bad for the servers here. Came here on a Saturday night around 630 and didn't get seated until around 815, but I should've known better than to come right at dinnertime. My friend and I got boba at i-Tea nearby while we waited, but you can also choose to get a drink at the bar while you wait. I was initially intrigued by this place because they serve both kbbq and hot pot, which I had first tried in LA, but we ended up only getting the kbbq for $25 per person. My favorite was easily the garlic shrimp - not usually a kbbq staple for me, but it was so good we ended up getting two orders of it. I also really enjoyed the brisket, which was more flavorful than many other restaurants I've tried, as well as the beef belly and kalbi/short ribs. We tried both the miso and red wine pork bellies but didn't feel that either was very impressive. I would also skip the finger short ribs. My biggest complaint is that each plate of meat has such small portions, and you can only order 3 plates every 3 minutes (yes I realize I sound like a fatass right now LOL). Also the screen seems kind of slow/unresponsive at times: my friend ordered a beer but it didn't say that the order went through, so he tried again and ended up with two beers instead of one. Service here is surprisingly attentive considering how busy the place was. Our server Laurie was always quick to give us a grill change without us even having to ask, and came by regularly to check on us and refill our waters. I would like to try their hot pot, but I definitely wouldn't be willing to wait over an hour again. Flame on the grill is weak. We ordered BBQ and soup. It's suppose to be all you can eat but it took forever to bbq meat so we're not able to order more meat cus it was taking too long to cook. They most likely want to cook slow so you you don't order more. I've gone to other Korean bbq so I know it shouldn't cook too long. The soup tasted like packaged. Horrible that we couldn't eat it. Ladies bathroom have a big sign that says "pls do not flush toilet paper" and they had a trash can inside the stalls. That's disgusting. read more
