We celebrated Gavin finishing middle school with high honors that Tuesday evening. It was his choice to do Korean BBQ but it was Tess that wanted hot pot, so we did both - though Gavin and I did not care for the hot pot. You order from the screen which is nice, but folks sitting away from the electronic device cannot see what is being offered. A little bit of an inconvenience, but once you place your order, the food comes out in less than 5 minutes. We had to have the grill changed twice, but our server tending to us were quick, patient, and thorough. Our iced waters were refilled constantly. The meats, especially the beef bulgogi were tender! You get free ice cream at the end of the meal. It's a good deal, a great meal for a celebration. I'm so proud of both of my kids.

Do I want KBBQ? Do I want hot pot? Why not both? You can have on or the other. You can have both? Why not? That's what I like about this place! What makes it better is that it's both AYCE! You enter hungry, but you'll leave way past full.

Honestly, the reason why this place got 5 stars is because of the service. Our server hooked us up with the lunch special, even with 3 minutes left. So top tier service, not from him, but everyone around them. The food was good and the sauce bar was pretty good. Just wish they had peanut sauce, but it was good. They were hella efficient and it was pretty well ventilated. We just got hotpot, no kbbq. Im glad they have tom yum. IDK if ill go again, I came here on a date and she ghosted me. But Qpot will never ghost me, theyre too nice and they communicate lmao. Anyway, I would come here again.

I'll start by saying that the servers and staff were all excellent, very responsive and friendly. The main reason for the 1 star is the overall hygiene of this place, especially the musty smell that was hanging in the air and seemed to also be in the broth of the hotpot I ordered, which also had a strange taste. Something about the smell of the broth made me think it wasn't just my personal preference for food that made me not like it, it was an actual musty-ness and chlorine smell. I'm thinking maybe the broth was old and reheated? Or maybe it's been boiling all day and they just added some water to it? It's really hard to describe, but I'll just say I've had a lot of different hotpot like Japanese shabu and haidilao and boiling point and really liked it, and I also really like Korean soups, but I've never had this weird musty funky smell. To be honest I couldn't continue eating after trying to sip the broth 4 times--and I tried 4 different flavors of broth. Even the miso broth, which usually just taste like miso and water with a bit of onion, had this weird funky smell, and all the broths had a similar weird undertone. There were some other hygiene issues. I noticed that the surface of the dishes had some smudges such as the picture I provided where the hotpot bowl has some dried rice stuck to it, the dried rice was there before it came to our table. It seemed like maybe they were hand washing the dishes or not doing a thorough job. Usually restaurants like this need some kind of high heat industrial washer, and maybe they aren't using that? I noticed the surface of my spoon just had a funky detergent smell similar to the broth. The sauce bar was mostly okay, however there was a really tacky looking setup where there was some soy sauce and other sauces in 1 gallon glass drink dispensers, I think the sauce was coming out too fast which caused it to look all splattered in sauce and not very cleanly looking. Also the sauce dishes were being held in a plastic dish tub which looked a bit unclean. I also noticed something going on at the entrance of the kitchen. One of the workers installed a heavy duty fan to blow air out of the kitchen and into the restaurant. I don't know why this would need to be done. If you need to dry something you usually use a mop or a squigee. So maybe it was some funky smell in the kitchen? What caused that smell? It could also be that they were going to close soon and this is just their normal end of day procedure, but there were still a lot of people eating, so why would they blow smelly air into the restaurant while people are eating?

Go for hot pot. The Korean bbq meat isn't bad but if you get thick cut the scissors barely work. Their hot pot is so good though. They tend to forget orders but it's okay cause you can just order more using the iPad. Or just order in bulk. On weekends they get really busy so the sauce bar can get hard to clean throughout the night. Tables are lined up next to each other so it's great for larger parties but it's best to send someone to put their name on the waitlist cause there can be quite the wait.

I definitely had high expectations for Q-pot, but it was honestly disappointing. The service was not good for a slow Wednesday night. I just felt like we were bothering them asking for things. We just got the kbbq. I really liked the sides and I felt like they had more to offer than other kbbq places. It was also nice that we got to order on the iPad at the table. The meat that we got was not that good, it was really chewy and full of fat, maybe their premium meat is better but it's still pricey for the regular regardless.

All we got for bbq. Didn't want to order more. SAL CHI SAL (Lb) CHADOL (BEEF BRISKET) (Lb) PREMIUM STEAK (Lb) pork belly

I gave this place another try since it close by. But just not what it used to be. Prices have come down. You can get bbq and hot pot for $25 weekdays for lunch so the was the deal that also got me to try Qpot again. Quality of the food not so good. Used to come in just for the Sal chi beef in Liu of the galbi as that is only offered at dinner or pay more. The kimchi and cucumber did not look so good or fresh. It tasted sour. The tofu seems off and stale. Only saving grace was the broth to tonkatsu not bad. Place also run down the dirty. The control for hot pot was sitting on the floor. Only one server for the floor granted it was Monday so slow lunch crowd

Cathy was an ABSOLUTE DOLL. I come here probably once every 6 months because it is a cheap and delicious option for any family outing. This time I had to leave a review because our server Cathy was the absolute sweetest! Every server here is usually, but Cathy handled our every ask and provided us with great information. Service really does make the experience!

We went to Qpot for my husband's birthday yesterday and he got 50% off his meal! When you walk into Qpot there is an iPad to add yourself to the list and you get a text when your table is ready. We were greeted warmly by not only the young lady who sat us but our waiter as well. We quickly received our drinks and the food came out right away. One of my favorite things about Qpot is the sauce bar, which is always kept clean and fully stocked. All of the meats were very well marinated and seasoned. We had a great time and will be back.

I had a massive craving for Korean BBQ which absolutely hit the spot. We ordered pretty much everything off the menu, and every single thing was delicious. Let's talk about the Sauce Bar, this is my favorite part! I love being able to head to the bar and mix up my own "special sauce." Unlimited Everything! Aside from the alcohol of course, everything is unlimited. It's the perfect place to go when you're starving and want to try a bit of everything and the price was decent. The staff here is amazing. They were constantly checking up on us, making sure we had what we needed, and they changed our grill frequently without us even having to ask. It makes the whole experience so much smoother. Thank goodness I was with my sister and my girlfriend because they did all the heavy lifting with the cooking! If it were up to me, I probably would have burned everything on the grill, but they kept the food coming out perfectly. Overall I would say a phenomenal experience. If you're in San Jose and want great food, a fun environment, and a staff that actually takes care of you, this is the place. I'll definitely be back!

A great local spot if you live on the east side of SJ. They do hotpot and kbbq for anyone who likes variety. Tons of meat selection to choose from. I've been here a bunch of times, but this review will be for Wednesday the day before Thanksgiving. We came around 6pm and they weren't full yet, which was a surprise, but no complaints here! It did later pick up though, so just like any popular spot, come early. Our server was super attentive which is always a great thing. She was refilling our waters and changing our grills. We also kept refilling the kimchi! This place, you order off the iPad at the end of the table so make sure to have the pro of your group sit there so they can efficiently add items so that things come out consistently. Overall a great social setting for friends and family.

My wife and I tried this place. We figure we'll try something that we can't get in sac. We debated on this place or seapot. Honestly I regret not getting seapot. The food quality wasn't as fresh as you think. You can tell once they drop the food at the table. I got some fries which was old. Customer service was good. Just the food wasn't worth the price. Even boiling point is better. lol. Here is a picture of the Cajun fries. lol. McDonald fries are better.

Used to live close by and go all the time. We went back for the first time in 4 years and it was just as good as remembered. I love this place because you offer on a tablet and the server brings the food. That way you don't have to wait to place your next order. They also have an amazing sauce bar and multiple recommendations on sauces that are all worth trying. We went during the afternoon and got there a hour after opening. It was busy but the big rush came after we sat down. Regardless the service was great and there is plenty of space at the table to order lots of food and enjoy! I recommend going for lunch as the prices are better than most KBBQ around.

PLACE: fairly big, but not too big, would have to combine a few chairs and tables to accommodate to bigger parties, the sauces and everything are already on the table, so are the dishes as well. FOOD: We got the ultra, Tom Yum Tonkotsu & Shiro Miso Soymilk - Tom Yum tasted really good and it paired well with the meat, the Shiro Miso just tasted more like miso soup than actual soy milk mixed in. American Wagyu & Black Angus Beef Toro - I feel like the American Wagyu was a little too fatty for my liking, or it could be the other way around lol, I kind of don't remember which one was which but one had amazing marbling that melted in your mouth. We also got lychee beer, which was super good, didn't even taste like beer. We had like 3 glasses which is funny because we aren't drinkers but it was so delicious. We came in with a party of six for dinner on a Monday evening when the restaurant was relatively quiet, with only a few other tables occupied. We asked if it would be possible to combine tables so our group could order multiple broths and enjoy the meal together because sharing one pot for a party of 6 gets a little crowded, but the request was denied despite there appearing to be plenty of available space. As the meal progressed, our broth became extremely cloudy and thick from cooking. We politely asked if we could receive a fresh pot of the same broth--not a different broth, just a new pot so we could continue enjoying our meal. Unfortunately, this request was also denied. The broth flavoring was also underwhelming and started to taste the same after our first refill. What made the experience disappointing was the lack of flexibility and willingness to accommodate reasonable requests, especially during a slow service period. Customer service and hospitality are an important part of the dining experience, and we left feeling that our concerns were dismissed rather than addressed.

There was a bit of a wait and you can waitlist on their ipad inside. We waited for about 20-30 minutes.    Before getting seated they ask if you want to do the normal hot pot style or AYCE. The AYCE runs for 90 minutes and is $24.99 during lunch and $30.95 during dinner time. They also charge for leftover food which is $6 per lb. We ended up doing the normal one pot hot pot for each person.    I always get my usual lamb hot pot which already comes with vermicelli noodles and choose rice as my free side dish. There are various levels of spiciness and I chose extra spicy which is a level down from there flaming spicy from what I can recall. Honestly it was not spicy enough but I did not want to get the spiciest level in fear that it would be too oily. Perhaps I will try that the next time to see if it is.    They have a bar further in the back of the restaurant where you can get creat your sauce and get some garnishes for your hot pot. I also noticed they have some other sides like noodles and such next to it. It seems if you are not participating in AYCE you can still get sauces and garnishes but I am not sure about the other sides.    The interior has changed from the last time I came here and it looks nice! Service was standard and everyone was nice. It does feel more chaotic now that they have AYCE but that  is understandable.

They did switch up their hotpot veggies though and it's a platter of lettuce and cabbage now whereas before they used to have crown daisy (which was so much better) but that's okay. As for their banh khot, this is my favorite place to get it. It's always so fresh! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and the flavor is always on point. Service: Raymond was excellent--attentive, welcoming, and professional. Get this man a raise.

I order here pretty often, and while there have been a few recent mix-ups, I really respect when a business takes the time to communicate clearly and resolve things respectfully. Nathan handled it well. Oh, and order the milk cream curry soup with the beef upgrade. Flavors are good :)
