QPOT is my favorite AYCE hotpot place in the Bay Area. There are plenty of broths and meats to choose from. Personally, I really enjoy the Thai Tom Yum broth but their other broths are great options too! As far as the KBBQ goes, I would rate them as above average. Their meat selection is good but the quality of meats is just average. I'd recommend trying out the Sal Chi Sal if you do order KBBQ, it's a favorite among my group. There aren't any sauces on the table but there is a sauce bar so make sure to check it out and get any sauces you want for the meats. The service experience at QPOT is different than most restaurants. While you do have a server, you place your orders through an iPad touch-screen. This method makes it a lot easier to place an order since you don't have to flag down your server. Food runners deliver the food and the server is there for any other needs your table has. The speed and quantities of food that come out have a lot of variance which is why I am giving QPOT 4 stars instead of 5 stars. The time for them to bring the order can be nearly instant at times and over 10 minutes sometimes. Occasionally, they will forget the order too and you'll have to reorder. I've visited qpot many times and it seems like each time it gets worse. To top it off there was multiple bugs inside my soup that our waitress confirmed. I decided to look at other reviews with similar issues and sure enough this wasn't the first time this happened. I was absolutely glad to savor KBBQ when my brother ordered takeout without mentioning the restaurant name. And since my brother's friend had announced that we'll be having KBBQ at its restaurant, what better way to savor charred meats in a different shopping arcade area of Evergreen, San Jose. First time outdoor dining experience, in a Dai Pai Dong style open air white tents. We kept eating until the sky got dark (Gangnam Style until the end). Even out in the smoky air, it's essential for staff and customers to wear masks. Us customers take them off once we dine. Throughout this evening, there's only six of us in our given table. Other than social distancing, we each were given disposable paper plates and wooden chopsticks. We're also been given tiny cups of sauces (also kimchee and octopus slices) and ordered drinks in plastic cups. Oh, that's right! Since I'm writing a photoless review, I should've taken a picture of the menu in which ones to order. The staff gave us half cooked meats to charbroil. I can eat anything that's ranging from garlic shrimp to spicy bulgogi. And since it's an all-you-can-eat, I'm no glutton when stuffing delicious charred meats. I would expect hot pot, but seeing what we're eating on a special occasion, it's hot plate. I gotta hand it to Qpot! It's a splendid force to be reckoned with. It's easy to eat mostly meats, but it's imperative to balance one's body with more greens to counter the acidity of the animal based portions. I like how every staff took care of us. Wow what a great experience this was. Off the bat, we were greeted by the friendly manager in the front. He accommodated us with an extra table because we had 7 people in our party. He said he doesn't really do that much because how busy they get. But being a customer friendly place he made it happen. Shout out to waiter Nam and Vu. These dudes were on point. They were hustling and tending to multiple tables. Taking orders left and right. I'm glad they were able to assist us throughout the evening. Due to Covid. The food portion is very generous per order even it's already AYCE, so order cautiously. I heard several (3+) times that utensils (bowls and dishes) dropping on the ground causing sudden sharp noise though it's not super disturbing to me honestly. The waiters may just want to be more careful cleaning up tables. However, what bothers me the most is that, they charge additional 3% on bills paid by credit cards (all cards, not only Amex..., oh actually I'm not even sure whether they take Amex or not...). The outdoor seating area was very well lit with hanging lights - also adds some romance! Unfortunately since it was only me and my boyfriend, we were seated at a super small table. Hardly any room to put our plates of meat, sauces, etc comfortably on the table alongside the grill which takes up a lot of the table's real estate. Although it was close to the entrance of the restaurant, it would've been nice to sit at the long picnic tables which were more than available. As for the sauce, there is no more sauce bar unfortunately due to COVID. That was my favorite part about Qpot. They give you two cups of sauces by default and they're pretty good. Best BBQ in town. Their food is fresh and well marinated. The portion is big so you don't feel like you are being ripped off. If you can go during the weekdays, it's better as the wait isn't as long as the weekend. Their service is very careful and professional. The waiters who helped us were super nice and patient to assist the older adults. One thing affected my experience was that the people in the front who put us in the table were ... kind of sassy. Let me start off by saying I can't understand why anyone gave this place a high rating. First, the restrooms were terrible. Maybe it was just a bad day, but on a Saturday night with a ton of customers, they should give care to the restrooms. Only one stall was open, the floors were all wet, the place was just a mess, no toilet paper, etc. Thankfully we didn't have to wait too long, but once we were sat down, everything just went downhill. The few side dishes they do give are mediocre at best. The seats and tables aren't very clean and the dish cart is just left around in the middle of the path. The floors are also wet and dirty. The only positive thing I have to say is that the server was nice. The sauce station is a mess. The bowls you are meant to put the sauce in barely look clean and are put in a bin that looks dirty. The trays are also all dirty and overall just so unsanitary. It made me lose my appetite just looking at it. The meat is as decent as it gets but everything is just thrown onto the plate with no care. They couldn't even bother to cut the piece in half for it to fit on the grill. Such an uncomfortable experience and there is no way I will be coming back here. Please do better. read more

Also my father who had been tracking all day was very hungry. Anyways... the food was quickly brought out everything we ordered and we made it just time before the kitchen closed. Food was great I had the Tom YUM Soup. And for 4 people we spent around $150. So for the hostess who was trying to persuade us not to come... we just made your restaurant $150 and you could have easily taken money out of you own co workers pocket. Moral of the story is... There HOSTESS have always been uninviting services and can always come across as being rude and snotty. In my past experiences at this location. I came by to try the outdoor dining. They have a huge tent set up on the parking lot in front of the restaurant. I did not count but I think there was about 12-15 tables. Each table seats six people. They are foldable chairs and tables so not very comfy. I came at noon the weather was sunny and temperature was 72 degrees. Tent is like a greenhouse and was super hot. Imagine entering your car after it has been parked in the sun. Evening may be a better option when the air cools down. Okay, for the food they only offer kbbq. You order from a menu they cook the food for you inside and bring it out to you. The good thing is you don't have to cook your own food therefore you won't have to deal with smoke and smell like kbbq after your meal. Con: since they are cooking the meat for you the meat may not be cooked to your personal preference. I was craving kbbq since March so I thought the food was good. Unfortunately the tent was too hot and the biggest turn off. I wore a T-shirt but had beads of sweat dripping from my forehead. I would rate their outdoor dining 4 or 5 stars if the restaurant invested in circulation fans to cool the tent or maybe drop a grand on an nice ac unit to keep guests cool. Had been there a few times, some of the times something's weren't working but we would get it fixed nonetheless. Service is always attentive and professional. Easy access to the sauce bar. The only thing I really liked about this location was the convenience of ordering through a tablet on the table except for drinks which must be ordered through the waiter. The tables and utensil were all greasy and still had chunks of left over food bits that dried up, making looking for a bowl at the sauce bar quite difficult as they were mostly dirty. Seeing as there wasn't much options we liked for the hot pot we decided to just opt for BBQ. The meats for the BBQ were all really overly salty and pretty average quality meat. Went here last night with my friend for dinner, and we had a great experience. I haven't been here for a few years since college, but we decided to go here on a whim. The interior was clean, and nice setup as well. They also played old MySpace songs and my friend and I had fun reminiscing. They have both hotpot and kbbq, but the whole table needs to choose either hotpot, kbbq, or both. What I like is that they have an iPad for each table, and you're able to select your choices onto the iPad. Other places will sometimes have your server come to you to take orders, so I liked not having to wait for our server to come and we can just place orders when we want to. They also have a station where you can build your own sauces as well. The service we received was great! Right when we placed an order, it came out in 5 minutes and my friend and I were surprised of how speedy they were able to get the food out. I also usually order rice paper with my meat, and that's where I mentally take note of a kbbq place since sometimes they'll come out dry, but the serving we had was fresh and even still warm. While visiting our friend in San Jose, our group is in the mood for some hot pot and we decided to try this place out. And why not a little bit of KBBQ? It is best to reserve online via Yelp or call ahead if they let you because wait times can be lengthy. I admire the waiting area because it is shaped in a half moon style and forces your vision to not look at the restaurant, unless you go to the bar for a few drinks before you eat, and kind of forces you to talk amongst your group. The concept is straight forward and easy to follow. You order your food via tablet, regardless if it is KBBQ or hot pot, and servers will bring your order by I believe 4 at a time. The quality of the meat for both KBBQ and hot pot was good. For my broth, I ordered Spicy Tofu which included some seafood and a big tofu piece. Our meat options for KBBQ were mainly brisket, pork cheek, garlic chicken, and Q Pot steak. For broth meat, we ordered chicken and beef. Service was wonderful by checking up regularly and changing our grill often when it was burnt or close to burnt.
