The wait for food is between 5-15 minutes depending on the time of day and size of crowd. Be cautious when ordering any bowls with curry to go- lots of spillage happens as their to-go packaging still needs some refining. I love Rabanos! You literally can't go wrong with any item on the menu! My go to is the chicken saltado bowl or the banh mi sandwich. With the saltado I would order extra green sauce because I love the sauce it not spicy and packs a punch if its mixed in with the ancient grains, chicken and fries. As for the pork belly banh mi sandwich, the pork melts in your mouth along with the traditional items (jalapeno, pickled carrots, etc). They also serve it with a side salad which has this light dressing that is extremely addicting. I guess the only con with this place is that this restaurant is tiny! Not great for large parties. I usually order take out if there are no seats left. But overall great ambiance. The best part about this food is that the ingredients are fresh! Usually if I eat heavy stuff such as rice, starch, bread etc. I feel a bit sluggish. But after each meal here I don't get that crappy feeling! Then you go in and it's fusion but only in its menu options and not the dish itself. Be prepared for Cuban, Korean, Thai and Hawaiian/Japanese (though they misspelled Furikake). I went for the Cuban and was pleasantly surprised. The meat was tender, the portions were great, the price a little high but makes sense for the quality. The onions could have been softer and more authentic and it might have been a tad salty but that's excusable unless it's consistent so I'll have to try it again one of these days. Affordable and Healthy bowls of Joy with International flavor(s) ***Five Star Friyay!*** I have had my eye on Rabano (Radish in Spanish) since they opened and finally the everything in the Universe came together thus finding myself in their parking lot right on the corner of Artesia Blvd and PCH. When you walk in the menu board is on the right hand side wall above "self order" tablets. You can also order online which is a plus if you are in a hurry. The menu is organized into categories such as Munchies, Sustainable Greens, Wich Say You, Super Bowls, Kids Menu, and daily specials are posted at the counter. The menu board also touts that Rabano supports local farms and ranches. So the menu is literally all over the map: Peru, Korea, Mexico, Vietnam, Italy, Cuba, Thailand, Lebanon, Hawaii, and the US of A with the Chinese Chicken Salad (don't hate, it is what makes America great!) After scanning the menu the one thing that my eyes kept going back to was "Lechon" under super bowls, which come with your choice of White or Brown Rice, Ancient Grains, or Rawr Greens. It has plantains and pickled red onions. Also I needed to eat something in the car on my drive all the way back to Torrance so I decided why not some fries. I didn't take into account that the Rabano Fries, smothered in aji amarillo sauce (peru), huacatay (peru) sauce, radishes, and escabeche pickles (Mediterranean), that I would be able to eat them in my car. Luckily I had a ton of napkins that I had been hoarding from WFM and a fork in my center console. I think driving and eating is worse that texting and driving. They fries were sooo good--How Good Were They?--So good I don't remember eating them, except for the wonderful aftertaste they left in my mouth. So after placing your order, you can pay with credit at the terminal or go the register and pay with cash where they give you a number. The concept is known as fast casual. In about 5 minutes my order came out and I was on my way. The Lechon was perfect. It was very succulent, tender, and a little briny. After eating the fatty pork bits, I mixed the ancient grains with the black beans, red pickled onions together for my own ricin beans. The red pickled onions reminded me of how you supposed to mix pickles into your curry rice in Japan as the perfect compliment. I have been eating Cuban food all over Southern Cal and South Florida it was some of the best I have had. Since Rabano is on the inexpensive side I can easily make it a habit. Their price point serves the locals who are house, rent, and kid poor, which makes it available to everyone. I had high hopes for Rábano. I'm a frequent customer of Ws , which is owned by the same family. Rábano is obviously not the same type of food as Ws (Chinese) however they kinda missed the boat. The food options are all over the map and not really focused. The flavor was just ok. The price was quite high for what I received. I'm disappointed because I truly wanted to like this place. Only my first trip to Rabano, but I'm pretty sure that this is going to quickly become one of my go-to places in the neighborhood! I found this place with my boyfriend since we were looking for a quick, healthy dinner after playing tennis down the street and Rabano showed up on yelp fitting the description exactly. There's three self-order screens as soon as you walk into the small restaurant, but we recently had a horrendous self-checkout experience at the grocery store so we opted to order with the cashier, which only took a minute or two. All of the tables were taken when we finished paying but a few tables cleared within a few minutes so we sat down quickly. The food came out amazingly fast, which I really appreciated! The Thai chicken curry dish was amazing! Super flavorful and I loved the option to get ancient grains. Liking the food here and so does everyone else. I really wish they had a bigger location as it gets really packed during prime hours. There are times when I wish I could come here to eat, but then it's just too crazy to find a seat. Takeout is never the same! Definitely come here if you can (during off hours if possible) to order some fries and grab some food! Located next to Lazy Acres there's plenty of parking but the primo spots right out front are usually taken. During busy times cars get really backed up and end up parking all over. There's a tiny locks booth also in the same parking area in front of Rabano. Get your keys copied and eat some food while you wait! Haha. Maybe the 2 businesses should band together and make a special deal. Eat at Rabano's, get $1 off key services. Or vice versa. Walk inside and you'll see that they've laid out the place as best as possible for the small space. Order up at the counter with real living people, or use one of their two tablets to order. The tablet system can be a mite bit confusing with all the options they have, but nice for people who don't like interaction. The tables are split between high top communal tables and then normal tables. It's much more comfy to get a regular table. The communal tables are squashed a bit close together and you end up back to back with others. Per the food, here are my faves! RABANO FRIES Don't ever bother getting these for takeout. You know how fries get after they've been sitting in a bag? Soggy. Make sure to order these when you're here though cause these are good! LECHON CUBANO Plantains? Yes!!!! Huge portion? Yes!!!! For some reason this bowl has the biggest portion compared to other bowls I've gotten here. Plenty of food for several meals for me. The pork is tender and fall apart, the plantains are nice and sweet, it's just a tasty bowl overall. PORK BELLY KNOCKOUT I love me some crispy pork belly and I can never ever get enough of it! I came with a large party for dinner on a Sunday night and was pleasantly surprised by this place. We walked in and ordered on the iPad. (Which was kind of confusing for the older folk in our group). I ordered the vanilla earl Grey tea with boba, the VIP poke, and the edamame wontons as an appetizer. The boba was not great, it was very soft and was falling apart, but the tea was exceptional.
