Rail side is a cute little cafe in San Dimas with good service and great vibes. The food is disappointing, especially if you're used to seasoning or even just salt and pepper. Despite the food the coffee drinks are pretty good. Food: The egg whites, cheese and spinach crossaint was pretty sad and flavorless. I'm tempted to say they don't season their food. 2/5 My sister and mother ordered one of the other breakfast croissants and has the same complaints. All three crossaint sandwiches were accompanied with the "hashbrowns" AKA a oily Trader Joe's Hashbrown patty LOL. Sorry but I wouldn't eat here ever again. Not to mention the salsa was overly spicy and flavorless. Drinks: I think the drinks were the best part of the meal. The chai latte was well balanced and not overly sweet 5/5. The latte was also delicious 5/5. The orange juice was nasty and watery. 1/5 The service is excellent and the staff cares enough to check up on you time to time which is a nice touch. The Rail Side Cafe does serve food that is clean, fresh and nicely prepared, but there are no restaurant amenities. No table service (other than delivery of food), no cutlery (pick up plastic forks by the door), salt&pepper only in little paper pkgs (also by the door), refills on drinks for 50 cents. This is a very small quaint establishment with very little seating inside but lots of outdoor seating. On arrival you place your order, given a number to place on open table of your choice and wait for food to arrive. When finished you bring your trash/dishes to a bin on a cart. My husband and I really enjoy this quaint little spot as a casual yet tasty quick breakfast/coffee date after dropping the kids off at school. Our favs include: - Aracely's peanut butter mocha (get it blended) - Can't go wrong with a matcha green tea latte - Locomotive is my husband's go to bfast (the gravy is so good!) - Turkey caprese panini - the bread is so good! - Conductor burrito - the salsa was bomb - LAUSD coffee cake - rich and delicious! My girl friends and I met up here for lunch this week. A few tables inside but most tables are on the sidewalk. Parking can be difficult as they share the lot with other patrons and if you go around the corner there are some residential condos and parking is reserved for the residents. They have a decent brunch menu and some sandwiches. They offer pastries from Homeboy Bakery which I was excited to see since I love their pastries and haven't seen them at farmers markets lately. They serve Lavazza coffee, I got the peanut butter mocha and it was great. I ordered the breakfast wrap which was good but the portion was smaller than I expected for the price I paid. I also ordered a bunch of pastries and was dismayed to see the cashier use his bare hands to pick and pack the pastries after ringing me up. No gloves. No tongs. I'm not really a germaphobe (I believe in the 5 second rule), but even I'm surprised that they don't follow this basic sanitation practice which I assume is an industry standard - but I could be wrong. Great cafe with excellent food. The owner and staff are super nice and attentive. It's a spot for hanging out and playing board games. You can bring kids, dogs to sit outside on tables. Came here because of all the reviews raving about the matcha latte... my medium matcha latte came out to $7, a little expensive for what tasted like overly sweet instant matcha. We noticed the outside seating, but there's a sign that directs you to order inside. Inside I only noticed one table that was available for eating. I thought it was neat that they had checkers or chess games available for use. I wasn't craving anything in particular, so I went with something familiar. I had a Chai latte and an avocado toast. First time in Glendora and it is a very beautiful and serene neighborhood. Highly suggest you sit outside as the inside is really cramped. Pains me to give this place three stars as I see lots of five star ratings. I decided on the Prosciutto Panini and their seasonal Pumpkin latte. I was surprised that they offered this flavor in June. I heard that their lattes are the standout here but as I take my first few sips, I honestly couldn't tell it was pumpkin flavored. It was a taste I can't even detect, I didn't enjoy it. Now onto the sandwich which I waited a long time for. As I take my first bite, I noticed the bread overpowered the prosciutto. I was also not crazy about the olive spread, it was all I could taste. I can't help but compare the prosciutto and the mozzarella that we have back in the East Coast. Not sure if this is your typical prosciutto here in SoCal but it was just different. Let me begin with how flaky and buttery the croissants were. I've been to France and these croissants are spot on. I ordered the Wake Up#1 with prosciutto and it was amazing. The croissant light and not too flaky which in my experience is a really good croissant. My husband ordered the Wicked Good Rail Croissant, which has a really good country gravy with sausage. He really enjoyed having a croissant made with country gravy. The cafe is a walk up order and they will bring the food to your table. Very friendly service. We have never been to this cafe and got some good recommendations while eating in line. This little hidden jem is a cute cafe with outside dining. Very bistro look setting outside with umbrellas for share. It is a local favorite for sure. They also have specialty coffee and pastries from Homeboy Industry. Best pastrami melt I've ever had ! The atmosphere here is hard to beat. The outside patio is the best spot to relax and enjoy your meal and drink. I don't drink coffee but their tropical black tea was super refreshing. This area of San dimas is so calming and tranquil. Their menu is not large. Mostly bready things like bagels , sandwich melts croissants and waffles. The bread used for the pastrami melt is so fresh and flakey it didn't feel heavy.
