I've passed by this place on my drive home from work since it opened, and I was always curious. I finally went by there yesterday (a Sunday afternoon). Well this is such a cute little spot. It's quaint and unique. They offer several breakfast sandwiches that sound delicious, and it's lighter fare than our usual breakfast places around San Dimas and La Verne. Yesterday I wanted to have some soup and a sandwich. The cashier said they didn't have soup (I guess they were out, because they had signs saying they serve soup). The weather was cold and gray and had been drizzling earlier. How do you not make sure to have soup on a day like that? (Actually, the whole weekend had been like that.) How disappointing. I opted for the 3-cheese panini. The flavor was delicious, and there was plenty of cheese. The three cheeses made for a very tasty combination, all perfectly melted together. The ciabatta bread, however, was just OK. When I think of a panini, the bread should be toasty, a little crispy on the outside, with grill marks. This bread had no toasty color at all, no grill marks, totally soft inside and out. That's no panini; that's just a warmed-up cheese sandwich. I see photos on your Yelp page showing paninis made just the right way -- show those to the person who made the paninis yesterday. The seasoned pretzels on the side tasted pretty good, but you should really include a little more of those, especially at the prices charged. I'll be back, at least to try a breakfast croissant or bagel sandwich (those look good). Just please get those paninis right and consistent, and if you're going to offer soup, please have soup. I just love stumbling onto new and small little hole in the wall places to try. And it's so close to home too. I've lived in San Dimas pretty much all my life and have driven past the area many times and just noticed this place a few weeks ago. So on my way home from work decided to stop in for breakfast. Ordered a Vanilla Frappe and The Wrap. The Frappe comes served in this very nice tall coffee cup. The Wrap comes served with a small cup of strawberries. Everything tasted so good. And the service was just great. I will be back in to try. Looking at the menu I already have my eye on a couple things. Very relaxing spot near apartment complexes. A hole in the wall indeed. Very small place about 4 tables inside and 2-3 servers. Came here after a hike nearby and celebrated with croissant sandwiches. We got the number 1 wicked with added spinach and the wicked good along with a strawberry smoothie. Total came out to be $18. I enjoyed my number one wicked breakfast sandwich very much, the contents are not evenly distributed throughout the croissant but it was still very satisfying. It is a cute setting outside. You need to enter into the front of the restaurant which is very small inside to order up at the counter. If many people are inside, it feels uncomfortable. The soda is not from a fountain machine so no refills they just give you a can. I had a turkey panini and it was good and for some reason I couldn't finish it. And I usually finish my plate. Sister loved the gravy plate that she ordered she said it was very delicious. I did not try it. I ordered a scone not hard like traditional scone cookie more soft like a muffin but so so good. Pricing was expensive. Glad I experienced it but no need to go again now that I just wanted to experience it. read more

I LOVE THIS CAFÉ! It is definitely a hidden gem in San Dimas, and I am so glad it is nearby Glendora. I have finally found the best place for my breakfast/lunch dates. Parking is easy, they have indoor and outdoor seating, and free wifi! They have great customer service, everyone is so kind and they love to recommend their favorites if you haven't tried them yet. So far, I have tried out: Turkey Panini- This panini was very filling and the pesto perfected it! Not to mention, it was also very delicious! Wake Up #2- This was a croissant sandwich with egg whites, spinach, and a cheese (mozzarella?). It was fantastic and this also was very filling! Blended Chai Tea Latte- I LOVE THIS. To be honest, I was not a fan of chai. I hated it, but when one of the girls behind the cashier recommended it to me, I gave it a go. It was amazing! The blended chai is honestly Christmas in a cup. I have gotten this twice, and I will be getting it frequently from now on every time I visit this café. Not to mention, they serve their drinks in the cutest mugs!! My visit here was nothing short of 5 Star, Amazing, Delicious, and satisfying! Decided to meet here for a business meeting with my wellness coach. The location is super chic, clean, and new looking. It has a lovely outdoor dining area with the perfect amount of breeze and shade for the hot days. I ordered a turkey panini OMG it was waaaaaaaaaay more appetizing than I had expected! We also came on International Coffee day so they were very pleased to offer free coffee throughout our visit. Exhausted from all the breakfast joints with oversized portions that are loaded with grease and just taste sub par, I was in the mood for something delicious and just the right size. And after a day of LA County Fair festivities, gluttony, and the most massive hangover, this looked like the perfect place when my husband Yelped a good place to get a late breakfast. I used to be a resident of San Dimas, but moved out of the city before this place opened, so was so happy to get to try it. It's located in one of the newer areas, but still had that good old classic San Dimas feel with a modern twist. The menu is displayed on the wall and there's an abundance of choices. I ordered the Wake Up #1 with prosciutto and substituted for egg whites. It was DELICIOUS!!! The boar's head meat was tasty, cheese was perfectly melted and I loved that they panini pressed the croissant to give a perfect crispy outside while still preserving the fluffy inside. The ratio of inside to bread was perfection!! When I picked it up one of the sliced in half sides I even said out loud, " look how beautiful my egg whites look!" It was also served with an adorable little side of strawberries and blueberries. The only thing that would've made it better was if they had breakfast potatoes on the menu. What can I say... I need breakfast potatoes in my life!! Because I was a little sicky I only ate half. I zapped the other half in the toaster oven after I felt better, and it was still delicious. It takes a handful of minutes for the food to arrive but it's not big deal because everything is cooked to order and FRESH as can be. We were in no rush considering the quant and cozy outside seating area. There's also indoor seating as well. The owner stopped at the table to chat a little bit with us. He is such a genuinely nice guy and you can tell him and his employees take great care and pride in what they do. Service was definitely that of a fine dining restaurant. We also loved the music playing I even called them later to ask what Pandora station they use. They said people ask everyday and they use French Cooking and Billie Holiday! Rail Side Cafe will definitely be on my list of my go to breakfast places. In fact, I think I'm going to have to try a lunch item next time!!! read more

Found this place on a whim, came in for the 4 1/2 stars and it was close by. To my surprise, TRAINS!!! the whole place has a Train theme... and all that goes with it, 1930's, 1940's theme photos, art, very lovely and such a bonus. They opened in March 26, 2015 and I have to tell you, such a wonderful little shop if you're in the area. Here's my thoughts why: 1. Lavazza Coffee!!! I don't need to say any more on this! 2. Boars Head Products - not something I'd expect from a little cafe in San Diams. Quality of the food was top notch! 3. Panini's and four of them to choose from, best part, they're made CORRECTLY! I had a Panini Turkey and my GF had the Panini Caprese... Very tasty! If you miss that mom & pop feel coffee shop/cafe (before the coffee invasion from up north) and you want a uber friendly very clean and a huge selection, come check the place out. How does this place have such a high rating. The waffle was no better than a frozen waffle. Definitely not made with a waffle iron, lame. My wife's scrambled eggs had large pieces of white in them. Not only are the food and drinks delicious but the customer service is fantastic. My husband, our daughter, and I were enjoying our meal outside when our daughter randomly got stung by a bee. It was her first sting and a nice woman came over to check on us. It turns out that she was one of the owners and she and her son went out of their way to check that she didn't have an allergic reaction, got our baby some ice for the swelling, and even brought her a cookie to cheer her up.
