Haven't been here for over a year! And, surprisingly... the donuts are better now. It could be that I came at the right time? Don't know. Their donut holes are huge! I never knew that. I absolutely love Rainbow Donuts!!! It has super fresh and tasty donuts and they're normally open 24/7. It's super important to support small businesses, as they've been extremely hard hit with COVID-19. I just went in today to buy some donuts and there was a sign saying that they're open all holidays--which is extremely saddening to me since it means that they're working non stop. I definitely recommend getting at least half a dozen donuts if you're a bit farther away, cause they'll be gone in no time and are like around 10ish dollars. The reason I gave it two stars is because I appreciate the donut shop being open at 2 am on a holiday. Other than this exact reason, I wouldn't recommend it. Customer service was terrible as the man grew frustrated because I asked for my donut to be switched out with the fresher one. He explained to me that their the same so what was the point. My favorite donut shop! The lady who works behind the counter is so friendly and even threw in a free donut to make up for the fee for using a debit card. We had a original glaze and chocolate glaze both of which were dense, heavy and old. Not something you want with donuts. The other donuts looked old and kinda sad so didn't even tempt to try. So earlier i went to Dunkin Donut by azusa @South hills plaza and the lady taking my order was so rude. Wanted to buy a dozen and so i started picking up the flavors and she interrupted me and told me "no you don't get to choose, will give you random flavors or whatever we have on stock" so i said "oh okay" then i ordered iced coffee and i asked her what flavors do they have and she said "look at the board" in a very rude manner. I know it's in the board but there were too many choices in there and i don't even know what they have at that point so i decided to cancel my order and drove away and to my surprise i saw Rainbow donuts (i have been hearing people talk about this place) went inside and saw a very nice gentleman , he said his name is Tom. So long story short lol.. i got my dozen donuts and my iced coffee.. let's support small businesses in our neighborhood... their donuts are really good and lots of choices too. Donuts don't taste spectacular to me, just regular donuts. However, they are very dishonest. One dozen donuts is never the price of what's posted. I went there twice to pick up dozen for work. The first time I didn't know so I just told her to pick the donuts for me. Price came out to be a few dollars more than the posted price. I questioned and she said some are extra....hmm but she never asked if I'm okay with it. I let it go and paid for it. Second time I wanted to pick myself and I chose all regular donuts like glazed, sugar, nothing special, it still came out a few dollars more. I questioned which ones do I need to get in order to avoid being charged extra, it turned out just one kind of donuts that won't come with extra charge. What a scam! First time visit on Friday morning to pick up some treats for my co-workers, and it made me sorry that this was my first time visiting this business, despite living a mile away off and on for years and shopping at the Japanese market in the same shopping center. How have I never noticed this place? Embarrassing! I will have to make up for it with many more visits in the future! To start, the service was first rate. Love the two older gentlemen who kindly greeted me as I walked in and then the lovely owner was very helpful. I didn't know what to choose being a first time customer so I just asked her to put together a dozen of their best. The donuts are huge!! The box of one dozen donuts is not your standard sized pink box, but rather an extra large version which she had to tape shut! I then ordered a single donut for myself to enjoy on the way in to work - probably the largest old fashioned donut I've ever had! All of it was reasonably priced, especially for the size of the donuts and the service given. The two older gentlemen also thanked me for coming as I was leaving - so cute, like they are co-owners of the place. I love small businesses for the warmth they exude! Obviously the taste is what will bring me back to a donut shop, not just good service - and they didn't disappoint. All of my co-workers loved the donuts. They were so big we were able to share and sample. Custard-filled, bear claw, apple fritter, some lovely creation that my one co-worker described as a Drumstick ice-cream cone as it had chocolate and peanuts in it (!), sugar, glazed, jelly-filled - all of them fresh and delicious. Confession: I am a Donut Man (Glendora) lover, especially for their fresh strawberry and peach donuts - but I think I'll be coming to Rainbow Donuts from now on and only visiting Donut Man for those specialty donuts when they are in season.
