This place sells excellent donuts and has been owned by Sing and her family for 30 years. Donuts are not greasy or overly sweet and their blueberry old-fashioned donuts are the best! The donuts are fluffy and fresh and they have a variety of flavors of tiger tails! Because I'm a germophobe, I always check for an A health dept rating and for clean surfaces and that employees are practicing good hygiene and avoid cross-contamination at EVERY food place I patronize. This place is always clean, tidy and in good repair. Recently Dunkin Donuts (who sell frozen reheated doughnuts, BTW) moved in right next door and I'm sure are trying to put Rainbow out of business. Above average donuts. Very soft and moist. Perfectly sweet. BUT! They're a little too oily for me. Oil stain everywhere. Made the paper bag see through. Bottom of the box looked a bit soaked. First time coming here today 04/23 and the woman (assuming the owner) was extremely nice and welcoming! My bf and I got a half dozen which included: coconut, fruity pebbles, tigers tail (which I think is just as good as Donut Mans), maple old fashioned, double glaze chocolate, and an Apple fritter. All the donuts were super fresh and not dry tasting at all. We also got 2 iced coffees. I got mine black and the flavor was really really good. Idk If it's instant coffee but either way, I liked it just as much as my drink I get from Starbucks. It all came out to $16, which is a great deal! Many other donut places make them way too moist, with too much of the apple filling. But Rainbow donuts makes them just right. My recent jaunt to the store, I actually tried their blueberry old fashion, which was actually pretty good. Years ago I got addicted to a blueberry donut down in Orange County, and now the blueberry donut craze has moved up to LA County. Love that the store is open 24-hours. This is an older place, not like the Dunkin Donuts, which is nearby, in the same shopping center. It's a mishmash of decor inside, but the donuts are authentic. They are BIG and hefty, but surprisingly soft and not greasy. The tiger tail weighs and looks like a small striped puppy. The maple bars have thick golden icing, and the Fruity Pebbles cereal donut doesn't deflate like an almost like air Krispy Kreme glazed. The donuts here are pretty average tasting and taste like the donuts you can buy at a grocery market. I specifically came here for their "cronuts" since I've read reviews that they have cronuts, in which they didn't at the time I came in. I just ended up buying a dozen of assorted donuts from them for $8.50. It was a hot day when I came and inside the store was also as hot and it was stuffy. Anyway onto the donuts, as I stated the donuts tastes average. I bought maple bars, glazed bars, cinnamon glazed, pink sprinkled donuts and on the second day of having them over night, the donuts were already hard! the third day of having them, oh man, they were hard as bricks, and I just ended up throwing them away. I also think that since this place isn't air conditioned, I believe that also affects the quality and taste of the donuts. I mean, I don't think you'd want your donuts sitting out in a hot temperatured room as well as being stuffy inside no? oh and btw, they also charge $1.00 extra for the use of cards. read more

Stopped by this place because my mom had been wanting to try cronuts. They have two flavors: plain and chocolate, so I ordered 2 of each togo. One cool thing about this place is that they take credit card (which I found out after using the ATM). Also, the lady who works the counter is super friendly. Anyway, I got home and we popped the cronuts into the microwave for about 10-15 seconds and dug in. Holy crap man, they were delicious. Flaky and sweet, they paired wonderfully with our coffees.
