I've been here twice and both times have been WONDERFUL! Fast, friendly service and food that is terrific. Both times I've gotten the Pablano Plate de Beef and have loved it! Today, when I picked up my order, the person (appeared to be a manager, idk for sure) who got my order asked me if I would like Flan on the house. I was taken aback! Excellent all the way around! Stopped in for lunch. Between three of us we had empanadas, enchiladas de mole and de cameron, plus chicken tacos. I have been wanting to try this place since I saw it in the Fort Bend newspaper. I was very excited to try some authentic mexican food. My husband and I ordered the chilaquules. I had chicken with mine and he had beef. They were very delicious and filling. The flavor was very good. The service on the other hand was horrible. We were told we could sit outside because the inside was full. But no one ever came out so we moved inside. I asked the server for more water and he looked at me like I had 3 heads and never ever cracked a smile. He looked like he hates his job in which case if he does, he should move on. I'm always on the hunt for a new Mexican place to try, my husband brought me enchiladas from here and omgosh heaven in my mouth tasted like my mother's cooking ! The flavors are on point and I'm not the biggest fan of guacamole bit man this made me do a 360!! Let me start by saying this may have just been an 'off ' morning and my second star for this place is because of benefit of the doubt that this was just a bad morning for my first visit there. I guess a server called in or something because there was only the cook and a lady behind the register - it was kinda busy, so she really didn't have time to work the dining room well. When we finally did get the food we ordered, it was pretty ok- my daughter LOVED her waffle (it was tasty) and my classic breakfast plate was solid as well - just nothing to jump up and down about and shout from the rafters. Came here on a Sunday morning because my go to breakfast taco place is closed on Sundays and I was craving breakfast tacos. Any breakfast taco you get will be delicious. I believe I ordered the chorizo and egg and the potato bacon and egg taco. The tortillas are soft and are filled with a generous amount of filling. Saw that they also serve chicken and waffles and decided to order it as well. The chicken is so juicy and tender, and the seasoning on it pairs well with the sweet waffles. The chicken and waffles came on a separate plate, which is good, so you can pour the syrup on the waffle without drenching your chicken in sweet syrup, unless that's how you roll, then by all means. The owner is super friendly and welcoming. A great place to go to get your breakfast taco craving satisfied. read more

Authentic tortillas. Early morning flavor. ALL MET WITH FLYING COLORS. The coffee really was divine; can't get much better than freshly ground coffee beans. Greeted by a friendly chef/cashier who was jolly, welcoming, and gracious. Due to our schedule we didn't have much time for a sit-down, but we grabbed two tacos each for the open road (me: potato + egg and chorizo + egg; boyfriend: potato + egg and bacon + egg). I honestly wish we had eaten them in the restaurant because focusing on the road is just NOT easy when you're distracted by the deliciousness of authenticity. read more

Raizes is my new favorite Mexican restaurant now. The food is absolutely delicious! Their breakfast tacos are extremely filling, and their enchiladas is to die for. I would recommend the potato, bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast taco or their sausage and egg taco. They also have a cream of zucchini soup that is so yummy. The owner is so nice! Wow! My husband and I went this past Sunday and I am so glad we stopped in. My husband got three different breakfast tacos, all were delicious, but he said the ham was the best. I got the chicken fajita taco and it was amazing. The chicken was delicious and tender with onions and orange bell peppers. We got the food to go as we were going out of town for the day, next time we'll eat there and try more of their yummy food. I believe the owner waited on us. She was very friendly and said they are going to do outdoor seating when the weather gets better. Right now they are only open until 2 pm, but maybe they will extend the hours if they get busy. Well, when I walked in I thought they were over priced for one $, BUT the service and flavor of this food is absolutely amazing! Their zucchini soup is the best I've ever tasted and it was complimentary. I tried the taco combo with one Al Pastor and one shrimp. The spices were very balanced and not overly done on the al pastor and the shrimp had a divine chipotle mayo on flour tortilla. They bring 3 different salsas letting you know which is picante. Came here on a Sunday for brunch. The chilaquiles with chicken were delicious. We also tried a breakfast taco and the huevos rancheros. All great and very authentic. Came again a few days later to try some lunch items. Flautas were a little too crispy, almost couldn't bite through but still good. My coworker had the fajita tacos which were good. The owner chatted with us for a bit and told us his background about how he worked for churrascos for over a decade. Very nice guy. I visited Raizes this past weekend. Pros: Excellent food at decent price. Generous portions and tasty salsas. Cons: Only one cook, thus overwhelmed with food orders. I waited for 30-45 minutes for my order to go. Another thing I noticed, one of the ladies waitresses was touching food when she was taking payments, cash and credit cards. It's a no no. You CANNOT touch food and money at the same time. So, stick to the register and take orders while someone else touches food, but no cashier, cleaning and touching food please. The waiter left after taking our drink order and only came back about 15 minutes later, leaving only one or two guys to handle serving & kitchen duties. I was so sad when the Taqueria Arandas near me closed. Where was I going to get my chilaquiles fix on Sundays? My bff Sue to the rescue! She found me this place on Yelp and it has been a match made in heaven. All the food we have had here has been scrumptious. My hubs loves the arrachera- he says it is juicy and delicious. The portions are huge for the price and the coffee is delightful. I love that it is family owned and the owner waits on you hand and foot. There have been many breakfast taco restaurants in this location that have opened and closed to compete with Soliz. I do not see this one staying either. Service was friendly and fast. Good delivered pretty quickly but it was kind if dead. I only ordered breakfast tacos. Potato, bacon, egg, cheese - cheese wasn't melted, bacon was thin and lacked flavor, egg and potato was a slight disappointment. Tortilla is store bought and warmed up. Salsas lacked flavor but was not bad. This place can compete with my homemade breakfast tacos but that's about it. I tried others but it was about the same experience of the first. They have a great value but you're paying for what you get. I will probably will not be back unless I run out of tortillas and eggs at home. read more

I love their food, but after my first visit I've visited them 3 times and they were not that busy and still took them forever to come and offer a menu. On one of those occasions, we sat and ordered our drinks which was nothing but coffee, waited 15-20 min, same waitress comes back and asks if we need something to drink. Another occasion in which they only had two occupied tables, they brought my food and forgot to bring a waffle, I tell them and then brought it once we were done with our food. They are really nice people but seem to get caught up with just a few tables and not even on weekends, I know the place is small but when you go to a restaurant you go because you're hungry! I don't like waiting 20 minutes just to get a drink, then add whatever they take to make the food. Like I said food is good, they are nice but I hate waiting, maybe I've visited on bad days, who knows but after my last visit I really haven't had the patience to go back. read more
