Loved this place since the first time I went in. The food is always great and full of flavor. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. I usually go for breakfast, great selection but I always go with the tacos. I'm a big eater but even I can barely knock down two of these massive bad boys. I usually stop in for a cup of Joe and tacos, service is quick and always understanding and helping. I saw someone plug this place in a post on Nextdoor. Since it is only about a 5 minute drive for me, I had to try it. My son had Baja Fish Tacos and they were so good he actually offered me a bite so that I could see for myself. He never shares! The Arrachera plate was great! I've never had skirt steak in a family restaurant that was this excellent and the peppers and onions were not overcooked. The Alambres was also very tasty. Our order was takeout because well you know-'Rona still going strong in Fort Bend. When I arrived for my pick up, the cashier was friendly and offered me a complimentary order of Zucchini soup. The soup was excellent-creamy and fresh! He also helped me carry the take out to my car. I can't wait to try everything on the menu! read more

The fresh squeezed pineapple juice tastes good! It's not too sweet and has some of the pulp. The free salad is good with chip pieces. The house coffee is ver fresh and tasty. The chicken flautas are not fried, and the rice complements the flautas very well. The beans are just ok, and I would have asked for the sauce on top of the chicken flautas on the side. The pescado empapelado with vegetables is the healthiest steamed fish I have ever had. The vegetables are not over cooked or mushy. They are dense and crunchy full of nutrients. This dish alone would cost you 25 bucks at an upscale restaurant. What a great alternative to typical fried fish. I can tell this restaurant really takes pride in the food they create because of the taste and appearance of all their dishes. As other people's food comes out you cannot help but want their dish as well because of the presentation. It just makes you that more hungry for what you ordered. You get five stars for great customer service and attention to detail. The small things are what really make the different and this restaurant has it all. The music is just an additional bonus, and the singer is very good as well. read more

First review on Yelp so here I go: I'm very sad :( I really promote small mom and pop restaurants and actually crave that home cooking feel. But Raizes had one thing missing. Quality... It was standard run of the mill tex-mex/taqueria/taco truck stylish kinda food. I had the Chilaquiles verdes con Arrachera... Cons: 1. Meat was very tough you had to use a knife and use those jaw bones well to grind it up pretty good. 2. Not enough Queso Fresco on top and the tortillas were nothing exciting about. 3. Beans were standard and nothing popped out. Pros: 1. The flavor of the meat was ok 6/10 and was not overcooked. Wife had the standard breakfast eggs,bacon, and something (Not on the Menu but on the Chalkboard Menu) That was ok she said but nothing to rave about. Kids had Breakfast Tacos: Potato,Bacon and eggs x4 (Put bacon to the side) Cons - They only put 1 Bacon to the side and didn't include the other 3 and the Bacon itself was thin as paper and was not of the thick cut variety. Ham and Eggs Cons -We didn't even receive this item and I told them to take it off the bill. Biggest gripe for me on the Tacos was the dam tortilla.. It was like they were bought at a grocery store. Not made fresh at all and you could tell! Drinks: Water, Frapps - Mocha and Caramel - Decent Hot Cocoa for the kiddos - Decent Two Expresso - They forgot and we never got them. The place was cute but disorganized.. 3 employees (1 cook, 1 manager, and 1 helper) on a Saturday morning and none spoke english well but were very nice. I would say only 5 cars were there when I arrived and food took over 15-20 min to reach our table. We were not even offered SALSA (most likely they forgot) to go with our orders.. Had high hopes for this place based on the rating. I started my meal with salad. The dressing used was delightful, but once my main dish arrived (enchiladas suizas) it went down hill fast. Fist, the rice was very hard. It was poorly cooked, sadly. The refried beans were ok. There's plenty of other taquerias with better beans IMO. Finally, the enchiladas were exceptional. The green salsa was amazing but poorly paired with what seemed to be craft cheese. After the meal when it was time to pay I went up to the counter to find out the machine was broken and they were only accepting cash. I know it wasn't there fault so I gave whatever cash I had ($9) out of the $11. So that was a plus props to the owner. He handled it very well and for that I applaud him. I'll be back in the near future to try the breakfast taco and coffee. Hopefully that can change my opinion of this place. read more

We got free tres leches cake after eating an amazing lunch. I had the chilaquiles with arrachera and while there were not any eggs in the dish the flavors of the green sauce and the steak were amazing. We also got a house salad to start with a creamy cilantro dressing which was surprisingly good. The service was warm and friendly and I will definitely be back! read more

Had a late breakfast. Hardly anyone in the place so we were a little concerned that maybe the food was not as good as the reviews stated, fortunately the reviews were correct. The coffee was excellent. I had the chorizo, potato, and egg breakfast taco then 'dressed' it with the sauce that was offered, excellent! I highly recommend this place. I love their breakfast selection. What sets it apart from other places is: 1.). The coffee. Cappuccinos here are excellent. Sometimes I stop by here on the way to work just for a cappuccino. 2.). High quality food. If you buy there tacos to go, the tortillas won't be a greasy mess by the time you get to where you are going. Plus they have really good waffles, pancakes, and French Toast. 3.). Real plates and mugs. None of those plastic plates that I hate at some Mexican taco places. 4.). Excellent service from a nice family. They will adapt your order upon request even if it is not on the menu (e.g. berries on top of the waffle). 5.). Nice, clean, interior. The only thing that is missing is barbacoa tacos. I stumbled across this place one day when I was in the area, and although it is 30 minutes out of my way I continue to return to this place for a very simple reason... their food is outstanding! Every time I come here I try something different, and every time I am blown away. If you do not know what to order, just ask your server. I assure you they will steer you in the right direction. I usually try to avoid negative reviews but, I think I must warn folks about this place. The main problem is that the staff is very disorganized and the food is very average. The man who took our order did not seem like he was usually a waiter as he was slow in writing down our order and didn't ask me how I wanted my eggs cooked or what kind of sauce I wanted with my chilaquiles (though the waitress as the next table asked all these questions). Food 2/5: chilaquiles were fine. You can't really mess those up. The eggs seemed poured out of a carton. My husband had 3 tacos (almost $4 each) of shrimp, fish and al pastor. The fish and shrimp tasted like they were frozen. We seriously could make better at home. Tortillas are not homemade or anything special. Service 2/5: very slow. The place was small and there were only 3 tables and we hardly got checked on or had our drinks re-filled. When I went to pay my bill, our same server/cashier was all frazzled and confused by the table ahead of me who decided to split their check amongst a large party. I waited 10 minutes at the register to pay my bill. We will not be back as there are many other places with better, quicker service and much better quality food for these price points. read more
