Rule of thumb: If a restaurant "specializes" in more than 1 style of cuisine, anything you get will probably not be amazing. However, a combination of things lead me here the other day: 1) close in distance, 2) good reviews on yelp (more on this later), 3) me being way hungover. This was the perfect storm that lead me to Raki on this fateful day. There was only 1 person working the front house and she's nice enough. I couldn't help but feel she needed some help as she disappeared for some time whenever she had to get soup or whatever. She was doing something in the back forever and someone walked in and sat down without being greeted or given a menu for quite some time. This didn't affect me but might happen to you. Something is up with all these 5 star reviews. Either you guys have super low expectations of your food or there's some under the table stuff happening. The food was not 5* worthy. Not even for being a local joint. I ordered the most white boy plate ever (General Tso's) and even while hungover it was just "ight". My girl ordered something forgettable and did not finish her plate. You would think the most basic ameri-chino dish would be super good, but it wasn't. We ordered a 3rd plate (again, I was hungover) and it was the special lo-mein. There was a certain flavor in this lo-mein that was not pleasant to me or my girl. We did not take more than 2, 3 bites and just packed and it brought it to the office for grabs. The japanese menu was 1 page and mostly your basic teriyaki stuff. I suspect their Indonesian food is better but not sure if I'll return to try it. read more

Amazing service and food all around. Waitress knows some customers by name as they walk in. Very nice and knowledgeable waitress, possibly the owner. The squid was well-cooked with good flavor and the steak was amazing. Everything we ordered had good flavors. Nice little restaurant and nice owners. Five stars alone for the Spicy Crispy Shrimp. I'd come here just for that! Grilled squid was also superb - surprisingly tender & you could taste the light grilled smokiness. Simply prepared, but very tasty. Ordered food from here last night while I was visiting family and it was amazing!! From the friendly staff that took my order to the delivery guy, it was such a pleasant experience.. The food was delicious.. We ordered 2 orders of fried rice, Kung Pao chicken, and Mongolian beef (although I think she accidentally got it wrong by giving us Mongolian chicken), but it was still good. We also got the spicy crispy shrimp, which was amazing and some of the best lo mein I've had in a while. This is an Indonesian restaurant that does Chinese and I made the mistake of ordering Chinese. It was somewhere between mediocre and bad. I feel a little ill and have a metallic taste in my mouth. Also, they didn't give us rice. Guess that needs to be ordered separately. read more

Tried it for the first time this evening with my family and we were very disappointed. To be fair, the service was very friendly and courteous, but painfully slow and we had to ask more than four times for refills. The food (when it finally came out) was average and left me unimpressed. Not terrible but not good either...just average, at best. Now, the main reason why they didn't earn a better score was that the employee's (or owner's) young kids were allowed to run around, rough house and play their phone's videos and games at a very loud volume. Those two kids were between the ages of 6 and 8, so they're not "little kids" so they should know better than to be so loud and distracting to the diners. Keep your kids at home or risk getting low marks like I was forced to leave your business. I don't like giving low marks because it does make a place look bad, but how else are they going to know what the problem was? Keep the kids at home, tighten up the service and you'll get a four star rating. Put a little bit of love & care into the food preparation and you'll earn five stars. read more

Where do Indonesians go when they're homesick for Indonesian food? Welcome to Raki. When I suggested to our friends from Indonesia that we go have Indonesian food, they immediately suggested this place. It's a bit out of the way if you don't live SW of town, but it's worth the drive if you're craving authentic Indonesian food. The cashier spoke Bahasa and our friends ordered up a storm of over a dozen dishes, including some off-the-menu. Some standards I recognized, like rendang and nasi goreng. A lot I haven't seen before. Included among others were the whole steamed fish with several dipping sauces, soup (tomato red color), a local salad, Bali spicy chicken, Ayam kalasan, satay (beef and chicken - always great) and a bunch of others. Desert included some cake-like dish with chocolate inside (really good) and pink colored shaved ice. I've been to Indonesia several times, and it tasted like I was back again. Before we left, our friends ordered a bunch more dishes to take home so they wouldn't have to cook for a week. Now that's always a good indication of a satisfied customer. read more

The BEST Indonesian food ever! We lived in Indonesia for 7 yrs., I found Raki within the last year, have only tried their Indonesian food and it is amazing! The beef rendang is the best I have had, their soto ayam, their cap cai - Over the Top. We had an Indonesian reunion for friends that lived in Indonesia at the same time we were there. There were abot 30 of us, and I had Raki cater the food. Everyone was amazed at the quality and taste of the food. They kindly delivered to me which helped tremendously.
