I am as happy to shop here as I am with Trader Joe's and Sprouts, as I used to ONLY use those two places. Came by for some alcohol and damn! Are all Ralphs Markets the same? I'd say no. And, not to brag, this Burbank Ralphs is a hit. Exceptionally friendly staff who go out of their way to greet you. The ladies in bakery will write on any cake while-you-wait, and the deli meat folks even remember what I like. They always have a super selection of fresh flowers, if you're on the way to someone's place for dinner and of course you can't go empty handed. Feeling like a bargain hunter? FULLY got profiled in self checkout just now just because I was using food stamps. I had to split my order first of the stuff that didn't qualify putting on my normal card. The guy is was already hovering VERY obviously and obnoxiously even before I went to the next payment just because I took slightly too long to bag for his liking I guess. I put my stuff in as the to guy is inching closer to make sure I don't steal anything. The SECOND I whip out my EBT card the guy LOUDLY asks "DO YOU NEED HELP WITH THE KEYPAD" like no I don't sir. There was NOBODY in line behind me either so it wasn't even like he had to hurry me up. Absolute classist trash. read more

I'll admit it. I am a Vons shopping fan. I like their Safeway brands and Lucerne Brand foods. They're delish. I am not a fan of the Ralphs brand anything. I think it lacks quality, but in any case, before I made the switch to Vons, I was an avid Ralphs shopper, and at this location. Very close and convenient. If you live in the area or grew up in the area, chances are you're going to run into people that you don't want to see here, as it's happened to me pretty much every time I shop here now, and every once in a blue moon at that. So that whole self checkout doodad really is a wonderful thing. Big produce area, like the frozen selections and big bakery/fresh foods area. And the place is super nice and clean! Even though one of their manager's is a sleestack many of the staff here are friendly. Although, in the past I have actually heard checkers verbally belittling baggers. That I found appalling enough to mention to a couple people on two occasions. One female checker with black hair was the one I saw doing it. I was disgusted. Treat fellow employees with respect. The produce people are attentive. Sometimes lately they seem to be out of stock of certain things or what they do have the selection is not good. Not sure why. Particularly the tomatoes and artichokes. Another suggestion might be to add more Daiya products! If you do you'll be able to stop losing customers to Sprouts, whole foods, and Gelsons. Lastly, your manager doesn't know what Instacart is. Well you should all know what it is because it's huge and getting bigger. Your products are being sold on there and delivered and you should be knowledgeable about how it works. You should also be able to help customers and shoppers who buy your products! Not a bad Ralph's. It's huge, open late (2am, I think?), and has plenty of parking. It's also conveniently located right off the 5 freeway, next to a bunch of other stores (CVS, Togo's, Habit Burger, Starbucks, etc.). They've got so many items in stock (since it's so huge), and the variety is definitely plentiful. There's a large bakery/deli section, and lots of items besides groceries (like pots and pans). It's an ok grocery store, good in comparison to other Ralph's stores, although I prefer stores like Whole Foods and Sprouts whenever I can get to those. I do like that there's self-checkout, and it's what I usually use. read more

Don't go to this Ralph's if social distancing during the pandemic is important to you. The store was packed with people today before they started lines when the security guard arrived at 2:00. I was a little disturbed when I saw employees removing masks to chat and right at entrance so we could not avoid. I mentioned mask on face is important and the guy said he only took it off to talk. This is normally an ok store, but during COVID-19, I will avoid it. There are shoppers with no masks or masks around their necks instead of on their faces. None of the staff says anything to them. I did see sanitizing going on which would have been good except that the cleaners walk right up next to you while they wipe. The checkout stand was even worse. The checker behind me kept coming out of his plastic shielded area and standing right next to me and hollering to someone. This happened at least three times. Have they never heard of physical distancing here? I don't plan to return until the pandemic is over. This has to be the WORST Ralph's in all of Burbank. Since I pretty much bike everywhere I go, the bike rack looked rusty and was rackety so I locked my bike near a pole. They have just about everything for my grocery needs. I would like to see the nut and dried fruit dispensers kept clean. I've seen mold in the bins and bugs when the bins aren't full. They would have 5 stars if wasn't for this. Otherwise, I find the staff very helpful. They go out of their way. One employee cut a piece into a watermelon for me to see if it's a good one. It was and I bought it but he really went the extra mile, said it's store policy to help the customers to their satisfaction. It's a pretty big Ralph's and has a good selection of products, including home and kitchen supplies. There's a deli, a bank, and a descent selection of organic products. The isles look clean and shelves well stocked. I do recommend this place with the exclusion of dispensed nuts and dried fruits. read more

The store is completely stocked, which is awesome! Very disappointing though to see that Ralph's is not enforcing mandatory masks for shoppers or for their staff. I realize that there is so much misinformation on whether or not masks can protect you... but here's the thing, it can't hurt. There are essential businesses that are requiring employees to wear masks. It's kinda gross to think that the employees may be coughing and breathing (not on purpose) on the boxes and bags and food that I'm taking home to my family. DO NOT EVER ORDER A CAKE FROM THIS BAKERY!!! They do not care about their customers and they obviously don't care about doing a good job. This was a "Star Wars" cake, although it looks nothing like it did on their website. The words don't even fit on the cake AND they spelled his name wrong! How do you mess up the name Kevin? When I pointed out the mistakes, the lady SHRUGGED HER SHOULDERS and said, "I didn't do it." Does that make it better? When I moved back to Burbank in 2010 the Ralphs on Alameda was my favorite store. Better than Buena Vista / Victory which is right down the street from me. Better than San Fernando Rd. Something happened when they remodelled 2-3 years ago. First I noticed brands that I used to buy at Alameda were no longer carried. Also noticed a reduction in staff which might correlate to the Alameda store becoming disorderly and less clean. I still prefer Alameda over Buena Vista and San Fernando for produce choice and freshness. And prefer Alameda for beef/chicken/turkey over BV and BV over SF in order of freshness. read more

Today on a beautiful Sunday. I stopped at Ralph's to get my ingredients for my huevos rancheros, I was planning to make for breakfast. The secret to the sauce is the tomatoes. The riper the tomatoe the tastier the sauce. I asked Juan in the produce section to tell me where to find the discounted produce section, because I always get my ripest tomatoes in that area at other local Ralph's. I don't know what Juan heard me asking. His response was so rude and demanded where, what city have I found the riper tomatoes in a discounted area. How dare the other Ralph's is selling overly ripen tomatoes in a DISCOUNTED section!!!!! Juan went into saying he will have to call the tomatoe association department and inform them of other Ralph's locations selling riper tomatoes in a discounted section because that was a no no. The tomatoes can be moldy and cross contaminate other foods...What The ....!!!! This fellow Latino doesn't know that the secret to the best salsas is the ripen tomatoes, and no one has gotten sick from eating good salsa. I kindly explained to him that any fruit or vegetable not properly washed can get people sick if contaminated. I have no idea why Juan was so rude over a simple where is your produce discounted section. Maybe he needs a vacation or he needs to eat huevos rancheros with a delicious salsa made from RIPEN tomatoes . Perhaps Juan needs a refresher class on good customer service skills. By the way there's an African American gentleman working in the produce section. He is so kind, respectful, and SO NICE nothing like Juan. I was so upset at what had transpired that I didn't get this employee's name but I'm sure management will know who he is. He is a gem to your store! Small grocery store. Seemed a little sketch. No health food aisle which seems odd in LA. Couldn't find many items. Counterintuitive to where things should be in the aisles. The Chia seeds and Flax seeds were found in the baking aisle. I've never seen that in any other grocery store. If I'm staying in Burbank while traveling, I would stop here to pick up some essentials, but not a good place for a full shop. read more

To the manager, assistant manager, and some managerial whities that work there and can't fake a smile or help anyone that isn't white or hot white or old white, GFY! I only come here cause it's the closest place to me, and everyone in the store is nice to me and my family for the last 4 yrs, except for you know who. If they got shot in front of me, I wouldn't lift a finger, why? cause they don't lift a finger or even look my way or that of others that look like me when we need help. What's funny is that this is Burbank, right at the border with Glendale, so most customers are Armenian and Latinos. These gift cards were fraudulently used and were zero balance when the people we gave them to attempted to use them. A couple Express gift cards I received that were purchased from this store were fraudulent, the numbers were invalid and did not exist Beware!!! DO NOT BUY GIFT CARDS FROM THIS STORE!!!! One of the best Ralph's Groceries in the area. They just completed a major remodel of this store and it's now better than ever. Almost all of the employees are very courteous and willing to help out with anything you might need. Only thing I wish they could do is bag as well as Trader Joe's. read more
