Had an ice tea that tasted like water. The percentage of tea in my drink was probably just enough to qualify it as ice tea. The place is small with indoor and outdoor seating. It looks old, like it has been around for awhile. RHG is like a fast food in a restaurant setting. Took a few bites and called it. Staff was friendly and service was quick. Price was medium. I've always enjoyed the meals from RHG - been a customer for maybe 8 months or so - usually order from Door Dash. Had one problem a few months ago with DD, ended up with me having to go pick up my own order. Super bummed. Decided to continue ordering with DD as usual, almost every weekend. Food is always good and I live about 5 minutes away. Today, however, according to DD, my food was picked up at 9:10 but the map showed the driver didn't leave the building for almost 20 minutes. When DD got here with my cold food, she explained that she had another order from RHG and had to wait 15 minutes for it before she could leave. Well RHG had another story - basically they blamed each other. My $40 food order was cold and the fact that the mgr blamed DD, didn't seem to care that my food was cold and therefore unappealing, I would be hard-pressed to order from RHG again. I don't care if it's a DD issue or not, you need to take care of your customers, in this case, a former customer. Never again. read more

I came here in the morning with my family before we headed to the botanical garden, and we are glad we picked to go here. They have many spectacular breakfast options, great portions, great prices, and great tasting food. The server was professional and the inside and outside is so cute. Im a realist so I have to say the area of improvement to be made is in those hash browns, the hash browns aren't bad or anything just they need to up their game. Good place for breakfast, but be aware, very expensive and not worth it. I ordered two breakfast sandwiches one with bacon and on without and both of the cost the same. Next time will make sure to get the bacon on the side. It's located on the tip of Scottsdale and they are probably paying a premium for the location. We haven't stopped here in years, so we were delighted that not much has changed. The new menus had all our favorites. Their servings are huge, so I had the light version of chicken fried steak and eggs. The strawberry pancakes were a disappointment. I didn't see any strawberry sauce or whipped cream and it was burned on the bottom. The plus side, GrubHub is fast! Horrible service! It pains me to have to write a negative review of Ranch House Grille, but the level of service has taken a dramatic downturn. I understand that we now live in a COVID world, which has affected every service industry...restaurants having taken the biggest hit. However that doesn't excuse poor customer service. For years my wife and I have been loyal customers of RHG. Always had good food, fantastic service, and reasonable prices. Until now. Three of us arrived before 11am and were promptly seated, given menus and our drink orders were taken. Shortly thereafter the kind server came to take our order (now approximately 11am). Approximately 30 minutes later I asked our server how much longer our food was going to take as several customers that had come in AFTER us had already been served. In addition, there were several plates of food being delivered to a table on their patio where a photographer was doing a photo shoot. The server never apologized, offered some fruit while we waited, and said "Oh the photo shoot is for for Door Door Dash, your food should be coming up". Ten minutes later (now 40 minutes after ordering) I called the server over once again to say that we would like to cancel our order. By now those guests that had arrived after us were nearly finished with their meals. I told her that we had waited 40 minutes, to which she replied, "we have only 30 minutes that you've waited"....as if that justified the situation. I asked to speak with the manger, to which she replied, "I am the manager". At that point I knew that we were not going to get anywhere. We offered to pay for our coffees and soft drink to which she replied, "you don't have to pay...just go"! Never did the manager apologize for anything. She could have easily said, "I am so sorry you've waited so long, let me make this right for you". And she knew that we were established customers as we had a conversation with her on arrival about the gentleman that worked there for years and recently passed. One would think that if you had an established (loyal) customer at your table that his been overlooked, you would value their loyalty and patronage. Not so with this manager. I leave my review with this message for the ownership of Ranch House Grille... Please don't ever sacrifice a paying customer sitting in your restaurant for a Door Dash photo shoot. And please recognize that there are too many viable options of breakfast restaurants near you to choose from: US Egg, Breakfast Club, Hash House Kitchen, Over Easy. If treated respectfully customers can overlook delayed food, incorrect orders, or poor quality. But what they won't accept is horrible service. read more

Going to give it four stars for now, due to it is our first time here. We were in the area so we decided to try out something new, glad we did. I am. Chicken fried steak guy, and this place has options, furthermore they have great options! Their regular gravy was fantastic, they also have two other options a green Chile verde gravy with the most tender pork you ever had, or a chorizo gravy which wasn't available at the moment due to the fact it's not a weekend. The batter/ breading was fantastically favored and married nicely with the steak, egg and gravy. Careful portions are huge, you might need assistance getting up and out the door due to over eating. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was that of a Midwest diner. Played 80 s and 90's music. Everyone should try this place once for breakfast. BTW they serve lunch too. A Great Start to the Day Today the family and I stopped into the Ranch House Grille (RHG) for breakfast. All I have to say is, what took me so long! RHG offers an extensive menu thats has something to satisfy everybody's appetite. On this visit we had the Breafast Biscuits, the Original Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs, and the R.H.G. Breakfast Sandwish. All our entrees were absolutely delicious and the portion sizes are very generous so come hungry. The Breakfast Biscuits are served open faced topped with sausage patties, smothered in prpper gravy, topped with eggs and served with hash browns. The biscuits and gravy are absolutely delicious and definitely enough to feed two. The chicken fried steak and breakfast sandwich looked appealing and my family members confirmed their entrees were absolutely delicious. Great service and reasoable pricing. If I could give this place less than one star I would. We stopped in this morning for breakfast and it was TERRIBLE. The best thing about the meal was the coffee, but the server allowed my cup to empty more than once before asking if I wanted a refill. He also spilled the coffee on the table and all down the sides of the cups when he brought it out. We were seated right away and our order was taken fairly quickly, but it took more than 30 minutes for it to arrive at the table. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs; my daughter got the Belgian waffle with scrambled eggs and hash browns and my husband ordered the huevos ranchero. The huevos ranchero had unmelted cheddar cheese, soft tortillas, and the sauce tasted like it came from a can. The hash browns my daughter ordered looked like an under cooked blob; there was little to no color on them. The waffle also tasted like a commercial frozen waffle that had been heated in the oven. The biscuit was cool to the touch, the eggs were rubbery, and the gravy was congealed. I immediately sent it back and requested toast instead. It took nearly 10 minutes for the toast to be brought to the table, so it was cold by the time I got it. My husband mentioned the poor service and bad tasting food and was told it was because they were short staffed. I get being short staffed, but if you're that short staffed maybe you need to close a couple sections in the restaurant to provide better food and service to fewer customers at one time. I personally would rather wait 20 minutes for a table than to sit at the table waiting for bad tasting and cold food. This was our first and last time here. read more

Went here on a late Sunday afternoon for lunch and arrived at 2:20 pm and the restaurant closes at 3:00 pm. We ordered quickly and got the Steak & Eggs and shared the Loco Moco. The Steak and Eggs came on 3 plates with the steak covering one plate by itself. The Eggs and Hashbrowns came on another plate while the slightly burnt pancakes had their own plate. The steak was huge and fairly juicy but pretty thin, the hash browns were crispy and on the dry side with the pancakes a little on the burnt side. Definitely quantity over quality. The Loco Moco was also generous and pretty good with the gravy and topped of course with an egg. The incident that most stuck in my mind was I asked for a take out box loaded it up paid for the meal and left without it. As I drove off my son mentioned the left overs so the restaurant closes ar 300 pm and we left at 310 pm and were a mile away when I decided to drive back. When I got there the door was locked so I knocked and our waitress opened the door and said she kept the take out container knowing I would come back. So impressed by the waitress who's name I don't know but she had blond hair and was very thin built. Will definitely come back here because of her. read more

OMG. Their portions are huge (see the Spicy Tortilla below), prices are reasonable for quality with quantity, and the place does a brisk business. i work in the area so RHG has been a go to for me for a while. last time I was there it wasn't great and everyone can have a bad day. Breakfast this morning is worth writing about. let's talk about ordering eggs medium; the yolk is still a little runny but the whites are cooked through- this is my expectation. this an often go wrong when the grill is too hot and the middle doesn't cook as fast as the outside. Today I ordered bacon and eggs w/ hash browns and an english muffin. The eggs were so runny they left a puddle of clear liquid on my plate, the bacon was actually raw under the burned edges and the potatoes were complete mush under the charred outer crust. TURN DOWN THE GRILL. to be fair- the food here has been really good for years. i think the current cook is in too much of a hurry and the food is suffering.
