They have smoked chicken, sliced brisket, chopped brisket, sausage, jalapeño sausage, pulled pork, pork ribs, sliced pork, sliced turkey. I haven't tried the last two but all the others are deee-licious! They have a variety of bbq sauces to pick from. To compliment your choice of bbq, they have a small bar where you can serve yourself fresh sliced pickles, sliced onions, pickled onions, jalapeños, etc. The place is always clean no matter what time of day I'm stopping by and the food is always hot and tasty. Will always come back for more smoked meats and homemade sides (and desserts too ;) ). With prices going up in 2021-2022 I am willing to pay the increase they've had to implement because they are sooooo worth it. Nothing wrong with big chains but personally I prefer locally owned businesses where you might run into the owner. Quite possibly the worst BBQ I've had in my life. The whole ordering process is on a cafeteria style chow line and I could practically see a layer of "skin" forming on that horribly flavored BBQ sauce. Everything to include the sides were simply not enjoyable to eat. Unfortunately I wasn't the only person in my group that was completely dissatisfied with this travesty of a dining experience. I'm staying not far from Webster - a community that used to call itself "The Gateway To NASA and The Bay Area" - and on Highway 3 there's this little storefront barbecue place called Randy's. Now, I and a friend have been comparing stories about Texas barbecue places so after driving past this place enough times I decided to stop in. Simply put, this is one of the best VALUES in Texas barbecue. Randy's has a one-meat plate with two sides and a piece of bread for just $9.95. That is several dollars less than my favorite place, The Pit Room. If you want a good-sized meal on the cheap, you will have a hard time beating Randy's. That said, I feel the quality of Randy's barbecue isn't on par with the other more elite places like The Pit Room or Pinkerton's. They do smoke their brisket, but it doesn't taste nearly as smoky. When I have to reach for a salt shaker to liven up the flavor, that's a letter grade off right there. Randy's has great green beans - cooked in butter and bacon. That may sound revolting to "oil-o-phobes" but I was delighted. The collard greens seemed to be cooked the same way but weren't as good - the flavor didn't hit my palate the way greens steeped in pork would have been. I was surprised that - at least on the day I swung by - there was no potato salad as a side. Most Texas BBQ places have that as a standard. ***UPDATE: THEY DO HAVE POTATO SALAD! Mustard and mayonnaise varieties! Good stuff! They did have beans, as expected, so you bean lovers will likely love that. For a place that's not in the heart of the city of Houston, Randy's does quite well. It certainly is better than its competition just a short distance away, Ryan's. And it's a no-brainer over commercial places like Dickey's. Still, if Randy's can get their brisket a little smokier, I'll stop by more often. I didn't get a chance to try their other items, but I certainly enjoyed myself. I am a major brisket fiend, and that is what cost them a 5 star review. The edges were really burnt and the meat kind of dry, but the sauce was delicious. The meat wasn't so dry as to be a deterrent for me. I chased it with my drink anyhow. I also had corn and sweet potato on the side. They were great! The corn had a slight buttery taste and the potatoes were so sweet, like candy. Yes, I have been decidedly unimpressed with them in the past. I so want to like them, and I've heard they changed management... so I thought I'd give them another try. Unfortunately, this visit didn't do a thing to change my impression. The decor is nice and very typical of Texas BBQ places. You walk in and follow a lane around to the back counter where you place your order. I ordered a rib and brisket platter and was asked if I wanted lean or moist brisket. I chose moist. I promptly received my order which included two sides. Mine were cole slaw and beans. The meat was slathered with an unappetizing looking brown BBQ sauce. I tasted the brisket which was in chunks rather than slices. There was very little smoke and not much else in the way of taste. However it was indeed moist. The pork ribs were equally tasteless and extremely tough. The sauce was indeed as awful as it looked. The only redeeming features of this meal were the sides. The beans were very good, though probably canned. The slaw was fresh and creamy. Just for the heck of it, I did try the mustard bbq sauce and the sweet and smoky sauce. They were not bad. However, they were not enough to save this meal. I gave them two stars, but one and a half would be more appropriate. So, it looks like it will again be years and years until the next time I visit Randy's, if ever. read more

In Houston for work for the day so we stopped in. From San Antonio, so I've had all kinds of excellent bbq. Randy's was so GOOD! Went in with absolutely zero expectations and was blown away. Ordered the 2 meat dinner, and their lean brisket was so moist! I've rarely had that from any bbq joint. Sides were great as well as the bbq sauce. I've never had Carolina Vinegar bbq sauce, but it changed my life. The amount of kick it brings makes you feel like you are in a UFC fight. It was so good! Definitely check this place out! read more

I have been in the Q business a long time, so this is a real let down and really do not see how they are still in business. I have had a little bit of everything on the menu and have not found anything work eating again. The sliced brisket was the closest. I have eaten there twice with the exact same results. Dry meat with hardly a trace of smoke. Our company made the mistake and catered Randy's. Same results. Overcooked dry meat with little flavor. We had brisket, ribs, chicken and sausage. The slaw was OK, the potato. salad was not good at all. The worst being the banana pudding. It was basically banana flavored pudding with vanilla wafers on top with absolutely no bananas to be found. It would seem that I visited Randy's Smokehouse for the first time after a management/owner change, because of what David T. wrote, and also so many past complaints about "the sauce". I'm a sauce-lover that won't return to a BBQ joint if I dislike their sauce, and the Randy's I visited in May 2014 had *many different sauces* to choose from! I squirted a little of each into the little to-go cups and thoroughly enjoyed having such a selection (even if I didn't like each one, but that's the genius IMO - everyone has different sauce preferences). I can't comment on the meat, ribs or sausage, as I normally just order chopped beef sandwiches on my first visit to a BBQ joint, then progress to sliced beef before finally taking a chance on ribs. But I'll certainly try their slice beef next, since they passed my "sauce test". But they did show me one of their ribs, and they did NOT look dry and was decent sized. PS: Their "dirty rice" is more like Mexican rice IMO - not that I dislike Mexican rice, but we were expecting dirty rice. BBQ beans were OK, but not exceptional. Called in a simple order of 1/2 lb. sliced brisket and 1/2 lb. sliced pork with a side of onion rings at about 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, (8-13-22). I was preparing a tray of Mac and Cheese for my guests and wanted a little something extra to serve with it. Whoever took the order on the phone sounded "bothered". OK, I can relate, maybe a bad day. Whatever. I live 10 minutes away in Bay Knoll so I headed that way. Walked in and was the only customer there. One guy was cleaning tables and the other guy was in the back and when they saw me they just kind of eyeballed me and didn't say a thing. I stood there for a couple of minutes and finally proclaimed "order to go please"? Table guy responded to my request. I collected my order and left. When I got home I was disappointed to find that the brisket was sliced way to thick and it was dry and the pork was the "chopped", (not sliced like I ordered) and was even drier! The onion rings were just OK. Maybe it was leftover meat from the lunch crowd, or maybe not. I can understand that but what I cannot accept are the attitudes of the representatives of this establishment to local clientele. Took two turkeys to be smoked for Thanksgiving and the DUCK , also had them slice up my ham. Yesterday was the last day to bring a frozen turkey so they would be able to thaw it and have it smoked by Thanksgiving, if not you would have to take it thawed out to be smoked or fried by Thanksgiving. I've been here twice. The first time it was okay but there was nothing special. That didn't stop me from giving them another shot. But before I mention the food let me tell you about the meet and greet from the owner. I had a Harley Davidson shirt on and as he's serving me food he strikes up a conversation with "are you one of those Harley Davidson guys?" I responded "if you want to call it that." He precedes to tell me about his son's love for Buell motorcycles. Then asked me if I have a touring bike. I say "yes" and point to it. I then tell him how me and my wife like to ride out to Galveston occasionally. THIS WHERE IT GETS GOOD! He then tells me "yeah that's great, you and your wife could get killed together, it would be a package deal haha." Needless to say I did not find it funny. This is not the way to get new business!! Lastly the brisket was bone dry and the bar b que sauce isn't good, but it's edible..... Randy's ended up on my "banned for life" list when the manager dude gave my wife quite a bit of grief for using a $2 off coupon before eventually accepting it. The customer service has always been weak at best, but since it's relatively close, we'd go here every once in a while. The food is average, and not the best "value for money" BBQ out there.
