One thing to note - some FFL's will start the waiting period at the time of sale as described by the Illinois State Police as it relates to gun sales and transfers. Some FFL's will start the waiting period as soon as you fill out the Form 4473. It's neither here nor there as to who is doing this correctly but at the end of the day, your FFL policies is what you end up following. North American Firearms starts the clock upon filling out the 4473 so just keep this in mind. Best bet is to make the online purchase, head over to fill out the 4473, and by the time your firearm is received by them your background check should be clear and you're good to go.

But all my worries were put to rest the day of delivery. I received a text that they received my shipment, and informed me of their hours of operation for transfers. Park in back in the north lot opposite Central as that's their own lot. Walk around to the front door on Central and ring their doorbell. The paperwork was quick and easy, and she clearly pointed out everything I had to fill out. Background check only took a few seconds. I was in and out with my package in 10 minutes. $30 per transfer and your 7th one is free. As for the training, etc. I cannot comment. If/when I take any classes, I will update.
