He read the report from Air Environmental before his visit and rechecked all of the spots that had tested positive for moisture. He checked the wall section I had opened to investigate and found wetness from the recent rains. He clearly explained how mold grows, what kills it and what does not, and exactly how Redwood Restoration would mitigate the problem while giving me a rough quote. He then checked all potential sources of water intrusion in the whole house with me and sent me two quotes: one for the room and one to address an issue in the basement to prevent mold from growing. He spent over an hour there and gave me a number of tips to doing unrelated projects on the house. I found Zac passionate for what he does and honest. I'm glad I called Redwood Restoration.

He even walked away from me in the middle of our conversation. I left feeling belittled, ignored and treated as though my opinion didn't matter. He also wore his outside shoes throughout my home, insisted the issue was candle residue despite there being no candle wax, and then left before completing the job. If your first instinct when a customer raises a concern is to dismiss them, talk over them, ignore them and walk away without finishing the work, you have no business providing customer service. He comes by, expects me to have signed the SOW looks at the jobsite and doesn't say much. I told him I am going to need to wait until I can check on my computer and since PGE is cutting power I will have it tomorrow. I let him know I am not happy with how he is conducting business and I get the "I hear you" and "Trust me". I review the SOW and ask a number of questions. Some are basic, like when will the project start, when will the project complete, who is responsible for ordering and buying appliances, who is responsible for any damage to the items that have been left outside for months. A couple hours later Gomer calls me. I asked him if he reviewed by questions and he says no. He is busy driving around. I tell him to talk to his people and then we can talk. He takes offense to that and starts arguing with me I am being unreasonable and he calls all his customers. I said I didn't have time to shoot the shit and he needs to be prepared and review the questions. He says he is not calling to shoot the shit but he is also not calling to discuss the SOW since he hasn't reviewed it. Given on August 5th I made it clear I wanted all correspondence written since I didn't want a my word against his. He gets very argumentative and the call deteriorates into both of us yelling at each other. I made it clear to the office coordinator I did not walk to work with Gomer and whether they had anyone else. So right now the project is over a week late starting and waiting to hear their solution. These guys have all my furniture and belongings and have my life on hold but it obviously is of no concern. To be continued I figure.

Eminence came to my place within a week of calling to give me a quote and upon acceptance they started work in two weeks. Here are the highlights of my job which impressed me: I have a tall metal tractor barn that was scorched during the big fire last year. They repainted the barn so that it looks new. I had an outside area where I removed some cabinets and needed the old paint behind the cabinets matched with the paint job I had done 5 years ago. Daniel and his crew painted the whole wall to match perfectly. Inside, I removed my TV from the wall mount and attempted to patch the holes to match the "orange peel" texture. My work was "not good". I was astonished that Daniel fixed what I did so that it was impossible to detect any anomalies in the wall at all! His wall work is excellent. I had done a lot of the prep work before the Eminence team arrived: took off switch plates, removed furniture from rooms, took down paintings, light fixtures and the like. Eminence deducted the costs of them having to do that work from my bill. Communication was what one would expect. I was told when the painters would arrive, when they would be done and all my questions were answered promptly. I've had crappy painters in the past who overcharge, don't prep well and are sloppy. Eminence is now my "go-to" for painting buildings.

That morning, I let him know I was briefly running an errand and asked him to text when he was ready to head over, as I could be home within 15 minutes. By 10 a.m. I was back home and texted to confirm I was there. He never showed up and never responded to any of my messages that day. While the quality of work may be good, the lack of communication and missed appointments make it difficult to rely on him. Based on my experiences, I would recommend this plumber only if scheduling reliability and responsiveness are not critical for you.

Turned out there were two holes in one of the pipes that had been leaking for a very long time. So muddy in there. Felt sorry for the guys to deal with it. Here is a picture of the pipe with the holes. As you can see, it was a very dirty job! Efran never complained....had to even go and get more parts. If you want a job done the right way he is your man! Just go on Yelp and see all his recommendations! I think there were 54 at last count....now I will be adding mine. They came out just a couple hours after I called with my emergency (tub blockage), and not only quickly determined what was going on and fixed it, they noticed a problem tied to the blockage that was affecting my kitchen sink and fixed that as well, without charging me any more. Very responsive, extremely reasonable rates, no weekend or travel surcharges, and none of those greedy tactics some other plumbers use of charging just to take a look at the problem. I highly recommend Efrain and AS&D.
