We had new floors being put in and had to pay extra money for the flooring contractor to come on two separate days to rip out the floors, wait for odor treatment, and then put new floors in. We delayed moving into our new house by several days which cost us additional nights in an Airbnb. We had all of our possessions waiting for us in UBox storage, and had we been able to move in on Monday, rather than waiting until Friday for service that was never performed, we would not have incurred an additional month's rent for storage. Overall, they cost us somewhere between $1200 and $1400 due to delay, and never performed the service.

He was so busy all the time with his other cases and would often forget what was going on with mine. He promised a lot, but did not follow through. Then when it came to the reconstruction to be done Altec tried to get out of replacing the floor boards even though it was on the estimate. I had to bring it up to the foreman Shawn's attention. He asked if it was on the estimate? The previous floor boards being replaced were stained, so I wanted them the same. Instead Shawn tried to talk me into having them painted. The workers were not even happy about staining them and did a substandard job. If you are going to do the job, make sure you have someone knowledgeable to do the work. At the end of the claim there were a lot of things on the estimate that were never done, yet the insurance was being charged for them. Like removing furniture from the home, yet they never provided the service. Over $3,000 dollars worth of overage on the estimate. Which also took weeks to resolve with them. I'm glad I made sure to go over my estimate carefully. I would personally not recommend this company.

Bruno came to my house with a sample piece of maple trim to match the color of the existing microwave cabinet. He took measurements and listened to me describe the desired appearance of the finished trim piece. About 10 days later later he returned with a piece of maple trim that matched the existing cabinet and installed the trim. Beautiful job! His price? ...just one hour of shop labor. Thank you, Bruno!

I had them install baseboards, fix a section of my floor, and restain my floors. I went on vacation while they did this. I came back to all the windows in my house and doors left open. Anyone could have came in. The baseboards were not painted, there was dust everywhere, they got stain on many of my cabinets. They did come out to paint the baseboards but got paint on the floor. I paid to have the furniture moved and ended up having to help move in myself. Additionally, the workers that did the actual work were not even from the same company. I doubt that they were even legal. I could get past most of this but one of the repairs only lasted a few months then broke again. When I reached out they gave me the run around, then when they did come out said that my floors were not installed probably, and that was the issue. I asked when they did not disclose this prior to the project they said that they did not know. They refused to repair it and were very rude about it. I have no choice but to report them to the licensing board and go to court to collect damages to repair my floor. Do not use this company.

We were looking for someone to pull up floor from the spare bedroom and use the pieces to patch the remaining parts that were damaged due to a flood. We had a quote from another floor guy but we really liked Josh & his quote was great so we were in. The work itself took about a day a half and the patchwork was seamless. He was able to reuse many of the floor pieces to fix the main areas and we are now off to get the remaining bedroom carpeted. We woulda went with him for this as well but that was outside of his scope. Nevertheless the job was done below budget and quickly might I add. He also fixed a linen cabinet that had been removed due to the water damage. He was meticulous and thorough in cutting and replacing the baseboards as well. We cannot recommend him highly enough. Now, cleaning a fine oriental rug is not your average no-brainer! First of all, only a few local firms specialize in the care of oriental rugs. Carpet cleaning companies that tell you they'll do it? Proceed at your own risk, as the vegetable dyes and hand knotted wool can be irreparably damaged by the wrong technique and/or chemicals. I'd done quite a bit of research before settling on Artistic Associates oriental rug cleaners. My first try (like many people) was the "other" Sacramento rug cleaning place. By far the cheapest, I didn't feel comfortable with their cleaning techniques, nor with the less-than-stellar reviews. Another local company appears quite competent, but I just couldn't pull the trigger based on their $400+ estimate. Here's the price range I found for cleaning our 8x10.5 rug: $125-$450. At $250, Artistic Associates oriental rug cleaning was right in the middle, but several discussions with the owner, Marion, made me feel this was the right place. Their cleaning process is thorough, effective and gentle. Nominal pickup/delivery fee got me a professional team with a trailer doing all the heavy lifting.
