If you wonder why there is over 1,000 reviews, it is bc if you request your receipt goes to your email, they automatically send you post on a social platform. When you look at website, they market themselves as having choices of beer BUT their selection is very limited. No oatmeal stout as photographed, ran out of Irish Red and ran out of root beer. Maybe 5-6 beers on tap. Meager beer choice and not that good. Service great, very friendly staff. Outdoors nice with pretty setting under umbrellas and a little bocce ball court. The indoors on the left side if you choose to eat indoors smells awful. The right side didn't smell that bad. Food mediocre, for example fish and chips fair but coleslaw awful... uneatable. Menu over promises but under delivers. Mussels OK but way over salted and almost 25% of mussels didn't open. Rate the food about C- or C. There are probably better dishes but would not come back. I see a number of bad reviews. Should have read before coming. read more

Hotwire puts me in great hotels and sometimes in unexpected locations. This time ended up in Concord. Found this place yelping, what an awesome Jewel!! Great vibe. 8 beers on tap were wonderful( had to try it all after tasting the first four on flight). They even had a Lentil Buckwheat burger to feed this Vegetarian which was awesome. Went here with a group of friends for weekend dinner. We didn't have a reservation but were seated right away. Our friends had been to their Sudbury location and were raving about the chicken wings so we were very excited to try it out but unfortunately they didn't live up to our expectations. The wings were dry and very tough. The drinks (cider sangria especially) felt a bit watered down and we didn't quite enjoy it. The entrees (veggie pasta and chicken sandwich) were decent but seemed quite ordinary for the price. Service was good. read more

Food and service was great. The outside seating was really pretty, I loved the string lights. But the restaurant has some cons too. The table was a little wobbly and food took almost an hour to come out, also I would also like more fries with my meal because I only got a couple as my side. We ate at Rapscallion for lunch on Mother's Day and really enjoyed ourselves! We had a table by a window and service was great. My mom is GF and there were plenty of options for her to choose from. I like the menu options both food and drink. We started with a flatbread appetizer special which was GF and we all enjoyed it. I had the spring pea risotto and added shrimp. It was delicious and the portion was filling. My husband had the fish and chips and thought it was cooked perfectly with light and flaky fish and not too heavy a batter. For dessert, we ordered a key lime pie slice and brownie sundae to share. The key lime pie looked more like a piece of flatbread but it was very tasty. The brownie sundae (GF) was a little too sweet for me, but delicious none the less. Overall we enjoyed our time at Rapscallion and it was great to support a local restaurant! read more

We were off the beaten path and in the area and decided to stop in to grab a quick bite to eat. Service was good and the food was fresh but to be honest, the appetizer stood out and the rest really just met our expectations. I don't think a three star review is that bad at all (isn't that what you are supposed to say when giving performance reviews?) I could see stopping by there for a bite maybe once every few months if I lived there but definitely not on my list to just drive to Acton from out of town for a meal. There are just too many other great restaurants that exceed expectations to add it to that list. I think this was rated high because of the local influence on the ratings but if you ate there you have to be honest and compare against other 4 and 5 star rated places. I've eaten here three times and it was phenomenal every time. The first time I went was 2 years ago and my mouth still waters when I think about the seared scallops entree. My boyfriend and I kept saying we needed to go again and never got around to it as we don't live in the area. However, he surprised me for my 30th birthday by reserving a room for a dozen+ people who all thoroughly enjoyed their apps, meals, and drinks (they still mention it 2 months later!) We went tonight since we were driving by and hungry. Once again, Rapscallion provided delicious meals. I ordered the pulled beef grilled cheese with a side house salad. The salad was fresh and the house dressing was so delicious that I had to refrain from licking it off the plate. The pulled beef melted in your mouth and I kept eating even after I was full just to enjoy the taste. The same meat is used for the potato skins appetizer which is also scrumptious. I almost gave this review 4 stars only because the menu does change its food and cocktail options so don't get your heart set on anything. There was an amazing cocktail I had the first time we went and I haven't seen it on the menu since. Also, why was poutine taken off the menu? Poutine should have a permanent place on the menu! Rapscallion earned the 5 stars from me because I have been more than satisfied with every meal and beer choice and so has my boyfriend. read more

Great food, great service and great ambience at a very affordable price. My wife and I stopped by for lunch without reservations on an August Saturday afternoon. We were seated immediately and had a delicious lunch. My wife had the mussels -- the sauce was to die for. I had the fish and chips -- deliciously battered and fried, with excellent chips (french fries). I had a glass of excellent French chardonnay. We sat at an outside table on their beautiful, tasteful, and very comfortable patio. The service was prompt, friendly, and accomplished. We looked around the welcoming and inviting inside space and eagerly await returning during the winter months to start eating our way through the dinner menu. I can't believe we have been living in a neighboring town for so long and didn't realize Rapscallion was here! We always struggle to find a place to go when needing great but casual dining. We had a fantastic meal last night, sat outside, perfect weather - it was busy enough but not too crowded as to be annoying. Food was wonderful, I had scallops and grits. I didn't taste the beers but they looked really good. I had a glass of wine which was substantial and tasty for the least expensive one on the menu - so, well selected on their part. Drinks were ok. Bartender was nice. Food has been awful last four times. Went back today because I heard they had a new chef. Got their $22 burger. Supposed to be made with short rib, it wasn't. It tasted like a cheap store made patty with zero flavor that was supposed to be cooked medium rare and came out well done. Said to have sautéed mushrooms on it, it came with 3 slices on one burger and 5 slices on the other. The fries were old and cold. Both me and our girl didn't even bother to eat half of it. It's a shame it is right down the street from our house, and 4 chances is more than enough this was my last time, me and my entire household will never be back. And after I told the bartender, they didn't even offer to take it off the bill even though they saw we did not eat it. If you can't even get a burger right and you lie about the ingredients and charge that much money for inedible incompetence then you are dead to me. read more

Man oh man. We (2 adults and two kids) arrive at Rapscallion at 1:40, and are told the kitchen was super backed up so they couldn't seat us for another 30 minutes, even though there were empty tables. No big deal, since it was a nice day. We get called in 30 minutes on the dot (good), and are seated promptly. The poor waitress (this review is NOT a knock on her) is clearly overworked and dealing with food coming out really slowly for many tables, doesn't take our order for almost 15 minutes. It's now almost 45 minutes after arrived. Even after we put the order in, the food doesn't arrive for another HOUR AND FIFTEEN minutes. 3:40 p.m., almost two hours after we arrived. The waitstaff was apologetic and tried to make it up to us, but something was clearly very wrong. My biggest gripe is that if they knew the kitchen was THAT backed up, why did they seat us at all, especially knowing we had two little kids with us? The food was not that great. Black bean burger was kinda dry and lacked real "pop." My six year old daughter did not like the pasta and marinara sauce, and she's not particularly picky. This place isn't cheap (example: fish and chips are $24), so it's a high bar at that price point. It wasn't met. Atmosphere is nice, waitstaff was kind and doing the best they could (we tipped them well because they deserved it). But man, very rough afternoon. read more

I have driven by many times and last Sunday I finally stopped in. This spot is super fun! We got there late, they had blankets for people outside as well as heater lamps. There is an outside fire you can sit around also. I was just a bit to chilled so we sat inside. I had their warm cider with spiced rum, It was exactly perfect! My husband got a the Downeast Cider and our friend Chad got a beer. We shared the Poutine and it was delicious! The owner is a very friendly Canadian guy who married a local gal that coincidentally went to AB with my husband, how neat! We bought a shirt to help promote them on the west coast i forget our servers name, she was young with dark hair, she was very attentive and great to chat with. Finally made our way to Rapscallion for dinner last night. The last time we had dinner at this establishment, it was Sprigs. Rapscallion is very different than Sprigs. It is more of a lively, pub environment with a great feel to it. The place has been renovated with new flooring which looks great. I think the lighting is better, too. It reminds me of the types of beer and food restaurants in the Champlain valley of Vermont. Like the Farmhouse in Burlington or the Hinesburg Public House. We had a beer before being seated. The beer is brewed nearby for the restaurant, which is a nice touch. It is craft beer, so quite hoppy. My wife had the Honey ale and liked it. I had the flight and wasn't keen on the lager or the Pale ale, but I did like the Black Ale. We were seated at our reservation time, which was great. The place was very busy. The food came slowly, but it wasn't a big deal. The quality was good and I'd rather wait a little more for good food than have the chef rush it. We shared the lobster risotto. Very good, creamy, although the risotto was a bit undercooked. My wife had the salad with arugula and liked it. And I ordered the meatloaf, which was excellent. The menu is somewhat skewed toward pub food. You can get a burger or tacos or salads or sides like mac and cheese, etc. Last, the waitstaff is very experienced. They were focused on us having a good experience. That is big with me so well done. I recommend Rapscallion. Good for a date night or even dinner with the kids. Was having a road trip in Lincoln, MA and Was craving for a brewery in the area yet there is none, so we went to Rapscallion for a pint and dinner. Fair selection of beer : new England ipa, german sea salt, belgium gold , honey etc... Got the German Sea salt and honey, very refreshing for summer. Ordered a steak and a seafood stew : very overpriced for the quality. The steak is a bit too chewy even it is very raw, and the seafood of the seafood stew are tint in size and not that well cooked. Four of us ate here recently and I was the only one who was happy with their meal. Nachos were cold and when we told the waiter he said "I'll tell the kitchen for next time". We didn't get fresh hot nachos and ours were not removed from the bill. Husband asked for a salad and got fries. Asked for no cheese on his burger and got cheese. I've been very pleased here in the past but this was not a good visit. But the beer was great! read more
