    Shrimp scallops calamari

We ate scallops, shrimp, calamari, oysters & steaks which all were delicious. Atanas was our waiter. This place is Fantastic. They even played some Frank Sinatra for our table. Doesn't get any better that this. ;)

We ordered the ravioli appitizer which was fantastic, then the rockfish special and 8 ounce revolution filet which was great. Sophia was our server and could not have been friendlier. I highly recommend visiting Rare for the quality of the food along with the exceptional service

Came here the other day especially with all the hype....save your money. A big disappointment from the start with our waitress. We felt like all she wanted to do was get us in and out. We all like to start with cocktails; there's no list...She said that they are very capable and can make anything. Well, she had to check to make sure they had the liquor that we asked for...so she got stumped. Appetizers are not truth to menu. 2 of us order the seared lamb chops; one asked for well done, (she washed sure if they can do it)...The other asked for medium rare. They were pounded out super thin and were deep fried. No where did it say that...not very good. Steak we ordered all came out under cooked ( steak house needs to get the temps right)...Person next to be hers was so rare, almost blue. My barrel cut rib eye was also so undercooked. I asked to have it refired. The waitress told me people usually keep their sides; I told her no...take the whole plate away from me. The amount of Bearnaise sauce they serve you is like enough for the whole table but no one tells you that; essentially when they charge $9 for it. One person chose not to have steak because they were afraid that they wouldn't get the temperature right. She went with the rigatoni; which we all felt it tasted very odd. We also had a nice bottle of Cabernet. It wasn't worth the money when it's two couples and the bill is over 400 and we felt rushed and bottom line the food didn't live up to the hype.

Excellent food, service and drinks! We enjoyed a shrimp cocktail and filet and king cut prime rib all perfectly cooked and seasoned. Our martinis were excellent and the service great too! We already made another reservation for our anniversary dinner. Highly recommend!

Easy to make reservations. We arrived at 4 pm when they opened. We were served by a very attentive helpful waiter. The food was delicious. We recommend it for the food, ambiance and service. Great to have a steakhouse in our beach community

My friend asked for a bigger table and they weee nice enough to give it to us despite being busy on a Saturday night. My friend also was concerned about the lamb being too gamey but wanted to give it a try. He was a big fan. I got to try a piece of his and it was good too. I went with the Denver steak- I never had this portion of meat before and I see why it is advertised as a separate item now. It is likely this was randomly packaged before or the cattlers kept it for themselves and just sold the masses everything else. Japan has been known to sell this meat portion decades? Ago known as 'zabuton' apparently. It isn't really a new "invention" per se, but apparently a meat association helped with the marketing and accessibility of this meat to make it what it is today. It appears many places do not offer this but a handful of places do offer this. The doors are nice and the signs don't strike me as stand out but they are nice easy to read aigns. The decor inside creates a beautiful ambiance of the classy restaurant that represents the food they served. The asparagus, carrots, Kennett mushrooms, were cooked well. The lamb was tender and juicy. My Denver was tender, juicy, and flavorful in a way that you don't need to add sauce and it might even be a faux pas to do so. I suggest medium or medium rare. I got mine medium well but for this kind of meat. I think medium rare is probably best. The key lime is 3 layers which is a cake and then key lime layer times 3 layers. My friend said it was a bit dry but we both thought it was good and all desserts are made in-house. My friend thinks a lot of butter is used in a lot of places to make the food taste truly good and I believe that. I don't really think about these things and just try to eat and appreciate what is in front of me, but it certainly is good to be mindful of these kind of ingredients used as well. The alcohol was fine. My friend's drink was not too sweet and my espresso cocktail had a good balance of flavor and booze. I asked for a shrimp add on and maybe the waitress didn't hear me but I didn't get that. However I also wasn't charged for it and by the meal's end when I realized this, I did not want this add-on. The bathroom apparently could've used some cleaning.

FOOD: I got the Miso Soy Glazed Sea Bass w/Sticky rice, broccolini & ponzu sauce for $38. It was delicious! Fish was done perfectly, rice was sticky and delicious, and broccolini was tasty. The other guests got the Porterhouse steak and it was awful. Not sure I would come back again.

Their Thursday night steak special is great. An 8oz of filet mignon and a 10$ credit towards a glass of wine for $35. The cheeseboard is also really good. Service was extremely slow, ( we ate early and the place wasn't that busy). We ordered cocktails and then we find out (one at a time), they couldn't make mine (I'm not really sure why), then the other cocktail from there cocktail list -they ran out of ingredients....like really?? My appetizer was ok, was hoping for it to be a little better (the shrimp & polenta). We also had olives and the baked Brie. Entrees 2 pork chops, mine was a little thinner than our guest. He really enjoyed it; I did as well as I got closer to the bone it was better. The first couple of bites seemed to be dry. We also had the lamb shank and a burger to go with our Black Stallion Cabernet. We will be back again supporting local independent restaurants. I do wish they had 1/2 stars, I would then give it 3.5.

We've had the chance to try several restaurants around Lewes, and while we've had some great meals, this one definitely stood out. Since we came on a Monday mid-afternoon, the atmosphere was relaxed and we never felt rushed.
