Several people recommended this place as the best place for steaks in Lewes. This was our first time here with my family of seven with two elementary school children for our 6:30 PM dinner reservation. We arrived early around 6:15 PM. The host seated us immediately at a very nice large round table on the window overlooking the outside dining area in front of the restaurant. I started with and enjoyed my two "Pearhattans" with Redemption bourbon, pear cognac, pear puree, lemon and almond bitters for $16 each. I also enjoyed my 14 ounce medium rare dry aged rib eye steak for $60. It was perfectly cooked medium rare. I also enjoyed the veal black garlic peppercorn sauce for $4. I also enjoyed the chimichurri compound butter for $7. I also enjoyed the agave feta Malibu carrots for $10. I ended my dinner with my draft Guinness. I've been to Harvest Tide twice, once in early 2023 and most recently in late 2025. I essentially had the same experience both times. The location is great. Only a few blocks from Lewes Beach and situated right off of Savannah Road. The ambiance fits the area; upscale beachy feel and homey. Basically, you know you should be dressed semi-nice when you walk in. The lighting is low-lit and the tables have fancy tableclothes and such - things you'd expect at a nice steakhouse. The service was the best thing I can mention from both visits. Each time the servers were knowledgeable, attentive, and personable. Their staff know how to handle the business that this place brings. They also don't make you feel like you're rushed to finish your meal so they can flip a table to make more money. It's a nice point to make. Now onto the food; the calamari was delicious. It was breaded and cooked to perfection with a nice dipping sauce. I also got a mocktail that was fresh and satisfying. The kicker of the place is supposed to be the steak... because it's a steakhouse. But alas, both visits, I got the almost $60 filet mignon and both times I wasn't too thrilled. I ordered it cooked medium, but it came out med-rare to rare. It had a very hard char on the outside, more than you'd expect or like to enjoy, and it had little to no seasoning. It's just a letdown when you expect a lot out of the price for what you're paying for. I got a slice of pumpkin cheesecake to-go and it was very good. Their pastry chef knows what they're doing. If I am to return to Harvest Tide, I won't be getting a steak. There are definitely other highlights on the menu that have potential to be divine. I'll have to check them out. read more

Bummer just a major bummer. Where do I even begin on this Delaware disappointment. Please note, I don't take leaving a review like this lightly. I always wait a few days to see if my feelings sway at all. They didn't. We came here for our anniversary as it seemed, keyword there, like a nice place. We stroll in about 5-10 minutes before we were due and make our way to the hostess desk. No smile, no real greeting just "Name?". We were asked for the name, my husband gave it, and then we were asked inside or out. He had selected inside at reservation booking so we were just a bit confused. I thought it was possibly she was implying one was a better experience so I asked "Well we selected inside but which would you suggest?". With an eye roll and the nastiest tone that took both of us by surprise Isa, Esa, Essa, however her name is spelled said, "Well it's up to you" and just stared at us. So I replied with "Well he selected inside so we're confused as to whether or not there's a reason you're asking again. Inside is fine..". Then she goes to seat us and at this point we're both thinking we might need to leave because if this is how they run things on attitude and wildly visible pimple patches, this might not be for us. The whole place is empty, and I'll add remained empty most of the night, and she goes to seat us right next to another couple. They seemed deep in conversation and out of courtesy I asked if we could go one table beyond them so we could both enjoy our evenings and conversations. She then walked to the next table, a mere two feet, turned and stared at us and said "So is this better then?". Now listen, I'm not about to get into with this grown woman throwing a hissy at her job. We always show the utmost respect to service workers because quite frankly, I think it sucks to do outside of potential tips. Nonetheless, thankfully she wasn't our server. We had Rebecca who was the only redeeming quality here. I think y'all should spend less time on flowers on the tables, alternating silverware styles by place setting, and pillows and focus on not great service. It was hands down one of the strangest experiences we've had. We'll never come back because there are much better business in DE, PA, MD who pride themselves on their great reps. The food was fine. This restaurant had no wait on a cold Winter , Saturday night. The waitress was friendly and was great with suggestions for the table. The front room was comfortable and no high ceiling, so the noise was soft. The charcuterie board appetizer amazed the whole table with enough for four to share. Our meals were hot and tasty, although I recommend a sauce or dressing for atop of any steak, as some reviews have said the steak was tasteless. I can attest to it being cooked to my liking. I do not know when it opened, but everything about the place feels new. It is just a short walk out of town over the bridge, so the location is still great too. They take reservations though coming during the winter months you most likely will not need one. Service is outstanding, and the food feels like it is coming from a chef who knows what they are doing. The presentations look like art and taste better than they look. The wine selection seems to have some great choices. For me, I was happy to have a good beer I had not tried before. You need to pay if you want bread at the table; however, they are ROSEMARY DINNER ROLLS (4) - Herb Honey Butter. I started my meal with BABY ARUGULA ZUCCHINI - Feta Cheese | Baby Tomatoes | Bacon | Cucumber | Toasted Hazelnuts | Lemon | Olive Oil Vinaigrette, wow! Then for my main, I had the Surf and Turf - 8 oz Filet | Seared Scallops | Twice Baked Potato | Mushroom Pecorino Sauce, which was on special. This was ok for me. We sat outside. It was nice to look down around the busy downtown... it was crowded but not loud. The food was ok; my appetizer was garlic shrimp, but shell on, which was weird, because un addition to being messy you lost all the flavor. My husband had the calamari, which was delish. I've been traveling around Delaware for over a week now, getting to know different areas before accepting a position at a healthcare system. I've been very disappointed with the dining choices in the area. So much so, that I decided to just check out the different beaches instead and just plan to pack a lunch. Lots of chatter but at a comfortable volume. Good vibes. Patio had a few couples and a young lady with her pup...pup-friendly...check! I chose a window seat and was quickly greeted by Ronnie. Smiling, welcoming, and what? I happened to stumble upon their first "Monday Steak Specials" for the low season! Score! 21-day-aged steaks staring at $20! My lab work be damned! I'm getting a filet! I opted for the 8oz filet, medium rare, with mustard balsamic reduction, wild mushrooms, and feta roasted carrots, an add-on of perfectly seared scallops and Parmesan fries! Did I mention labwork be damned?! Well...I don't know what else to say! My steak was cooked perfectly! The fries were crispy and tasty, the carrots were delicious, the reduction sauce silky and fabulous! I tried my best not polish off the entire plate, but I couldn't help myself! Simply delicious! I really wanted to give this restaurant a better review. I had been excited to go and drive by often but wanted to go with family. First impression are important. Three people were not happy with their steak flavor or temperature. One ordered a ribeye medium and it came well done. The other two ordered the 30 oz Delmonico medium rare like the chef recommended and it came out medium well. Just a steak you could get anywhere and nothing special! The scallop special was great. Perfectly cooked. The manager came around checking in right when we got our food so at that point we had not really cut into the food. We ordered 2 beers and 2 sangrias. Then the waitress forgot to put part of our order in and she totally blamed it on the kitchen. Then they ran out of 2 of the items that we ordered. I'm not sure if the waitress was new or not but her service was terrible. The food and service did not match up with the price point of the restaurant. Went for a celebratory Christmas dinner. It's a lovely place. When we arrived the host seemed rather frazzled. We went to the bar for a drink. Fine. Overall everything was just ok. And the prices are not just okay. My son's steak was surrounded with fat and tendon. I ordered boullibaise. Which was bordering on bad. I am rather old school, this is a beautiful soup of saffron scented tomato broth with seafood. What I got was a sloppy bowl of thick tomato soup with overcooked shrimp. And at their prices I expect my shrimp to be peeled. No excuses. So the food was just ok The server was ok. She never asked how our food was. Ever. We kept our reservation as we can't come for the new date, and we're SO glad we did! We found out when we got to the table that they had just updated the menus and both got cocktails from the new bar menu. He had a cherry Old Fashioned (I think?), and I can't remember the name of mine, but it was FANTASTIC. For entrees, he had the ribeye and added the chimichurri butter. He loved the steak, but said he didn't really get anything from the chimichurri butter (which was a $10 add on, so a bit disappointing). I went with the sea bass (a new item) and it was phenomenal!!! We had a wonderful dining experience here. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly as well as attentive. The food was delicious. We had the berry salad, which I loved. The seafood dip with Crustini bread was delicious! My husband loved the Alaskan king crab legs, the lobster and the filet which was cooked perfectly. The asparagus was especially tasty. We ended the night with the 10 layer chocolate mousse smith island cake and the apple cobbler. Both were scrumptious. We will be also having the left overs today! Our only regret? Disappointing. Was excited to try out what some had said was the best steakhouse in the area. The decor is nice, but if you're gonna call yourself a steakhouse the one thing you have to get right is the steak. I opted for the NY strip at $60 and my wife had the filet at $55. She asked for medium and it came out full rare. I requested mine medium rare, but it too was more on the rare side, but quite literally the worst steak selection ever full of tendons and fat. I doubt they select their steaks or butcher themselves because I would not have even purchased this in a store. For a $400 meal, I will definitely not be returning. It was not busy, drinks took 20 min to come out and overall food was a not close to what I'd expect for the price point. Waiter did not even bother to ask if everything was okay after seeing mounds of unfinished rare meat on the plate he was taking away. So we went to dinner with friends the celebrate a birthday. Reservations were made for 8/11 at 630pm. We arrived just before and were seated immediately. The hostess was ok. Not overly friendly but nice. Our server was also the bartender. We were seated in the main dining area. Our drinks came out promptly and were followed by salads. Only 2 of us got salad. The 1 salad was big enough to split between 2 people. 3 of the 4 of us ordered the monstrous crab cakes. They were big, tasty (according to my friends) and no filler. I ordered the filet. I will warn you the filet is $45. But y'all this filet could be eaten with just a fork. No knife necessary. The server/bartender and I discussed what medium well meant in their restaurant and I was satisfied. GUYs this was one of the best filets I've had. We got a glimpse of the desserts and the cake had to be 10in high. We skipped that because we had treats waiting from a local bakery. But wow! This restaurant is in an old liquor store. I grew up in Lewes and it's great to see the use of an old building like this. There is outdoor seating if you like. It's a quiet place. Likely not quite after Covid. Definitely try this place. My wife and I dined at Harvest Tide Steakhouse for our anniversary, our first time at this steak house. We found that the atmosphere and staff were terrific but our dinner was a failure. We each ordered the rib eye steaks and found them extremely disappointing and almost inedible. The menu prices reflect high end quality but they didn't deliver. Our waiter apologized and told us that we should have mentioned it right away, as we should have done, and the next time we come that if we're dissatisfied we should tell them. We feel that when you spend a couple hundred dollars on a meal, it should be terrific. I can't see us going back. read more
