OMG. Had brunch here on Sunday and it was absolutely incredibly delish. We live 5 min away and went 7 years ago for brunch and didnt like it at all so never went back. Saw the 5-star reviews for brunch recently w comments about the $35pp price and figured we'd try it once again. Glad we did. Quality food items, great variety, tasty and not bland, and great value. Initially we had reservations for a table in the dining room for date night but we arrived early and decided to grab a drink at the bar. Our bartender Greg greeted us and was super amazing. He encouraged us to try some new cocktails and they were amazing!!! He was so fun we decided to give up the table and enjoyed a phenomenal meal with Greg at the bar!!!! Everything was amazing and cooked to perfection. We had the French onion soup, burger and Delmonico steak with the loaded fingerling potatoes and Brussels. My husband and I enjoyed a nice dinner this past weekend. Our server Taylor was nothing short of amazing. She had great food and wine recommendations and was able to answer our questions about the menu. For appetizers, we ordered the crab dip and raw oysters. For entrees, I enjoyed the market fish (red trout) and my husband had the shrimp scampi. We were stuffed but took home the butter cake for dessert (and reheated it before topping with the blueberries and ice cream, at Taylors recommendation). Came here for dinner with my boyfriend for our anniversary, we were taken care of by Taylor, who was oh so amazing to us. She explained the menu and she also let us know off the menu items. We got the crispy calamari & shrimp, the raw oysters and Rockefeller oysters for appetizer, everything was really delicious. So, this was my first time actually sitting down here and eating something other than their AMAZING butter cake. That's also a 10/10! My server was Ashton a college student at KSU I believe. He gave great suggestions, and was very knowledgeable. He was also understanding when something didn't go as planned. He did his best to communicate with the chef my specific wants when it came to my oysters, and when our steaks were over cooked, he immediately addressed the situation and got a manager. TEVIN was a great manager, understood the problem and brought out a Caesar salad and lobster bisque for us to try. Service here was unbeatable. Food: 7.5/10 the food for its price was not worth it. It was not bad at all, but definitely could have been better. The steaks were originally over cooked, but seasoned well. When we got our new steaks they were cooked perfectly but lacked seasoning. The finger potatoes needed more seasoning and the toppings were thrown on not melted on. The twice baked potatoes were really really good. Lobster bisque and Caesar were typical, not bad, but not extraordinary. My biggest problem were the oysters. I will not lie, it was partly my fault. I was expecting oysters Rockefeller, and they didn't have that on the menu. When I asked for it, the chef sent out a fried oyster with spinach dip on top. I didn't like that. So I asked for just raw oysters. There was so much water in the shells, I had to drain them. That could be my mistake, maybe I don't like them raw and only charbroiled. Brunch at Ray's was great! Food was delicious! Especially the dessert bar. The fruit was exceptionally fresh and juicy and the grits were smooth and creamy. The omelettes were customizable and made fresh with a great selection of fine ingredients. The eggs were delectably fluffy and soft. The creme brûlée shell was mouthwateringly crunchy and sweet, with a hint of toasty flavor. The inside was super custardy! As we entered the doorway, the atmosphere that met us was so relaxing. The booths were comfortable to sit in with no worn out spots in the cushions. Everyone was attentive but relaxed in what they were doing. Our waiter was friendly, the genuine kind, and followed up on every detail of our order. He was an excellent waiter. The food was fantastic. My lobster tail tasted like lobster should taste and was cooked perfectly and not dried out. My husband's crab cakes were so delicious that we were all taking taste bites to verify what he was talking about. Everything had delightful layers of taste that had us so intrigued with what spice or seasoning might have been used to achieve the flavor. This is the BEST place of any Alpharetta restaurants that we have eaten at. We will definitely be back several times a year if we can. read more

After a bottle of wine at Monteluce, Ray's was a splendid option for dinner. Parking is easy even without valet. We were seated in back, which might have been a problem had it not been for that aforementioned bottle of wine. I wasn't especially hungry but we went in. The hot seafood app platter was a nice variety and portion. BBQ shrimp, oysters rockafeller, calamari... mmmm good. I simply had a fresh water lobster and a side of brussel sprouts. Remember the wine I mentioned earlier? Well it caused us to be rather loud and our waitress was nice to us. She was attentive and fast. My go to drink these days is an old fashioned and Ray's got it right... smoky.... citrus... a dark cherry... I sound like a alcoholic. Rating is more like 4.5. We recently went to the Sunday Buffet Brunch at Ray's. We haven't been there in about a year, perhaps in that time the brunch was suspended. We read that the restaurant's have been sold to a large chain and the new owners said they were not making any changes. We were pleasantly surprised to see the brunch advertised at $37! I believe the previous charge was around 50-60. Instead of having all the brunch items in the "bar" room, the entrees are split. Some are still in the "bar" room (mostly breakfast items and deserts) and the "lunch" items are arranged along the kitchen area. To us, this is a better arrangement as, in the past, it got quite crowded in the "bar" room. We were very satisfied with the selection of entrees. No Eggs Benedict (Boo!), is was one of my favorites. No Omelet station, just two types of scrambled eggs. Waffle station had pre-made waffles available. Lunch selection included peel & eat shrimp (nice and firm, good quality), crab cakes (a favorite), prime rib carving station, (I think in the past they also had ham at the carving station), She Crab Soup (delicious!) among other items. The service was very good. One of my measures is how fast someone clears the dirty plate from the table. They did fine, it addition to our server clearing, there were bus people also clearing dirty plates. We will return again, hope nothing changes with the new owners. read more

This is one of my absolute favorite places to go for Sunday Brunch ($39.95). During this trip I was eating a Keto Diet and had no issues at all finding plenty to eat from their fabulous buffet. I always make a reservation, but they did not seem to be that busy at 11am the week we were there. We were seated right away and our waiter came to talk with us within a few minutes of our being seated. I ordered an ice tea (which was delicious) and was off to see what was on the buffet. I've added a lot of pictures so that you can see that they offer a wide variety of options to suit all tastes, but I'll focus on the items I tried. I started with the Lobster Bisque. I'm not sure it is on a Keto Diet, but even if not, it was so worth it!! LOL I really could have made a whole meal out of the bisque, but with so many other options I decided to move on. I love seafood so focused on the boiled shrimp, mussels and baked salmon along with fresh mozzarella/tomatoes, roasted cauliflower/brussel sprouts and a baby wedge salad. I had plans to go back for carved prime rib and sauteed shrimp, but unfortunately I got too full before that happened. I highly recommend the cinnamon roll, which you order directly from your waiter. It is big enough for the table to share and so delicious (per my Mom)! I also want to mention that they have $14 bottomless Bloody Mary's and Mimosa's during Brunch. One advantage of dining alone is that you can typically just eat in the bar area and bypass the wait times for a table. This was my plan for this particular evening. I decided on Ray's At Killer Creek because it was close to my hotel. Service in the bar area was quick and friendly. My server informed me that they had 1/2 price oysters for happy hour. I did not need to hear anymore. Over the next hour or so I ate two dozen oysters. The oysters were fresh and sweet and just what I needed. I wasn't overly focused on the ambiance as I was dining alone, but I feel this would be great place to take a date or a group. The seating is comfortable. The lights are slightly dimmed and it has a very intimate feel. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice place to eat in the Alpharetta area. read more

This past Saturday, April 24th, we celebrated our 6 year anniversary at Ray's. We had a 7:30 reservation, but decided to go early and have a cocktail at the bar beforehand. Greg was AMAZING! Travis and Nick were great too, but Greg was our favorite. He has the kind of no BS personality we crave when enjoying a date night out. My husband is a classically trained chef and I've been in the industry for 2 decades, so when we go out to dinner, we are great tippers- but we also notice every detail. My husband wanted a great Manhatten cocktail with a Bourbon he hasn't tried. Greg walked through his recommendations and the reasons behind them. My husband raved about how great his Manhatten was and vowed to come back and sit with Greg again to order another one. I usually drink wine, but decided to venture out and order a cucumber-y cocktail. Greg happily went to the kitchen to gather some fresh cucumber to make the perfect cocktail for me. All of this special service in the middle of a busy Saturday night. They made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. :-) We didn't want to drink on an empty stomach, but our reservation time was nearing, so we had a dilemma. Greg quickly recommended a quick piece of bread to help with the alcohol and not ruin our appetite. Instead of just trying to sell us something, he just solved the problem instead. Next time we'll make sure to enjoy our entire dinner at the bar with Greg. :-) We then sat down at our table and had great service close to Corey playing on the piano. We noticed the wine list with discounted bottles on the first page. We couldn't believe we were able to enjoy Duckhorn Merlot for $45! This was a fantastic find and makes us want to return again just to check out this Captain's list. We loved every minute of our anniversary date night and can't wait to go back to Ray's! read more

We wanted to wine and dine and this place was perfect. We started with the Hot seafood platter. Comes with a combination of bbq shrimp, scallops, crab cake, and fried calamari. All cooked and perfectly crafted by an exceptional staff of chefs. Next I had the petite filet mignon. Excellent taste. Smooth and easy to chew on. Best filet mignon over ever had. It will probably be the same for you too. Finished off with a delicious small plate of Vanilla Creme Brulee. Covered in a hard shell, the creamy and warm vanilla was deliciously paired with black and strawberries. A perfect combination.
