We were out a little late and decided to have dinner here. This was my first time and I was told a lot of great things about it. Customer service was amazing. Our waitress was super attentive and very sweet. We placed our order and our food came out pretty quickly everything was great big portions. Everything was flavorful would definitely come back again.

Ray's Tepeyac is my go to for a Chile Verde Burrito! Large portion! I can only eat half. I tried their $6 Michelada Tuesday special for the first time. Really good balance of spice and tomato with Modelo. David always gives us great service and has become a family friend over the years.

Ray's Tepeyac sells thick, heavy portions with speedy service. The food's flavors are distinct and prominent, but it also tastes "mushy" like something left underneath a food lamp for too long. Currently, Ray's Tepeyac successfully captures the taste of well-cooked buffet food. (Quick Note: 3.99% Service Charge Applied to All Card Sales. Bring Cash.) I arrived on a weekday (around 1:50PM). The location had a large amount of elderly customers. I was immediately seated. Each table received complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were lukewarm, but its flavorful salsa was cold. In addition, the tap water tastes very off-putting; its water tastes like old melted ice. I ordered the Shredded Beef Burrito (Lunch Special - $10.95) and the Pescado Al Mojo De Ajo ($18.95). Service is fast! Both huge dishes arrived piping hot in six minutes and 47 seconds. The Shredded Beef Burrito is extremely big. The burrito is doused with tangy sauce and melted cheese with a dollop of sour cream. The burrito is stuffed with boiled, mushy beef. Thankfully, its sauce adds needed flavor to the bland burrito. The Pescado Al Mojo De Ajo had a lovely, addictive garlic and buttery flavor. Unfortunately, its strong taste is used to mask the thin, small, soft, mushy fish. Its rice successfully rekindled memories of Mexican rice, but it's very mushy. The beans are satisfying, but it's finely mashed and wet. Thankfully, its flavor is strengthened with its generous melted cheese. If I had two words to describe this dish, it would be "soft" and "hot." Service is adequate. In the beginning, I was helped quickly. However, once I received my food, I rarely saw my server. I had to eventually "wave down" a staff member to get my check. Staff moves like a fast food restaurant. After receiving the check, customers pay at the front counter. Regarding ambiance, Ray's Tepeyac is a charming location. I enjoyed the wall's artwork. The location is also clean and well-ventilated. High-energy Mexican music echoes throughout this location. The furniture looks dated like an old diner, but it's functional and well-maintained. Overall, Ray's Tepeyac serves huge portions. And it's a decent option for a budget meal. If deciding to visit Ray's Tepeyac, enter with low expectations. 3.8 out of 5

My friend and I came for dinner. I had the Chile Coranado and my friend had the Pescado Mojo De Ajo. The portions were big enough for us to take some home for later. Food was delicious. Staff was very intentive and helpful. The ambience was very pleasant. We will be back.

To Go Order placed. Ordered red chile burrito, got a green chile burrito. The Mexican chopped chicken salad I ordered was a disaster. Watery with wilted mushy lettuce. They don't always fill my orders correctly but wanted to support our local restaurant. Unfortunately, this will be my last order. Not going back.

Went in with my sunny son sunshine, we had breakfast I had the Chile Relleno plate and he had Huevos rancheros. It was so delicious. Our waiter David was amazing. He was getting into it with another waitress just a tad over a broken coffee maker but all in all it was funny to hear the bickering. He told homegirl she was still sleeping lol anyways loved it. The music was playing . The vibe is mobster feel. Old timers comfort. I love this place. We will be back again.

The service at Ray's was amazing! The staff were very attentive and sweet. I used to go to this restaurant all the time when I was younger with my mom and dad and it brought up so many memories for me. I got the Pescado Al Mojo De Ajo which was a very garlicky and buttery. The portion sizes are large and my boyfriend and I both had a lot of leftovers to take home. Only thing to note is that they do charge a fee for credit card I believe.

My husband and I ate here after work as a mid-week treat. The restaurant looks small from the outside but once we were seated, we noticed it was quite spacious and there was lots of seating. The service was great and the food was pretty good. They serve chips and salsa complimentary. We ordered flautas, taquitos, and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. My favorite was the taquitos. The cheese enchilada was good but a little too heavy for me especially with the rice and beans.

They serve a traditional Mexican open buffet at certain times. The waiting line is expected, but don't feel discouraged because it moves fast. The decor is vibrant enriched with colorful murals. The staff are very welcoming and genuinely warm. The restaurant has cozy and inviting ambience. Outdoor and indoor seating are available. I placed an online order for pickup. It was fast and convenient since I had friends coming for dinner. I ordered the following: - Burrito Panchon 5/5 Stuffed with carnita, beans and rice, served with cream, beans and guacamole. Huge portion! You can choose your protein. - Fajitas Cielo Mar Y Tierra 5/5 Marinated beef, shrimp, chicken. It served with sauteed bell peppers tomatoes and onions, rice, guacamole, beans and pico de gallo. It was smoky, savory and flavorful. - Vegetarian Enchiladas 5/5 Corn tortillas stuffed with bell pepper, corn, onion, carrot, cilantro, squash, and topped with a combination of cream and jack cheese. The portion was enormous. It was a very flavorful and savory. - Carna Asada 5/5 Flap meat marinated with homemade adobo. It served with pico de gallo, rice & guacamole. The meat was juicy and tender. It was such a delicious dish. - Empanadas 5/5 I chose chicken empanadas. It served with salad. The empanadas was crispy from outside and very flavorful. - Ensalada de Nopales 5/5 Diced cactus mixed with tomatoes, onion, lime, and cilantro. - Taquitos 5/5 It was crispy from outside with savory and juicy filling. - Taco de Cameron , taco de Pescado & taco de Birria 5/5 They were savory, juicy and delicious. - Beans 5/5 Topped with melted cheese, really delicious - Large Bionico Bowl 5/5 Fresh fruits like topped strawberries, mango, cantaloupe, banana, papaya, blueberries, apples, pineapple topped with granola and shaved coconut. It was rich, creamy. The fruits were fresh and sweet. It was heavenly! Every box was wrapped with layers of plastic wrap perfectly. I got a bag full of different types of salsa with my order and another bag with tortilla chips. The food portions were very generous. Every dish reflected authenticity and deliciousness. Now the food.... I had the Chon's Breakfast Comal. The chorizo was ok. Lacked quite a bit of flavor. Potatoes tasted kinda like they were boiled and then finished in a sauce, then plated. The bell peppers and onions were fantastic. A lot. But they were cooked well. Over easy eggs were decent, despite one of them being cooked all the way through. Comal was perfect temperature. But insanely greasy (which is expected from chorizo). Rice. Eh... Rice is rice. Wasn't bad. But was all "Oh my goodness this is amazing." Beans tasted like the refried Rosarita's can. Just topped with cheese. The salsa. It was pretty good. The 1st time. Until I found a hair. Then I was given a 2nd one. And when I decided to eat it, it was no good. It was starting to spoil. I realized this once I put it on a bite I was about to take and immediately put it in my food i was about to chew in my napkin. After about 15 minutes when my server finally came by, I told her of the situation. She said "I'll go check." Then disappeared. Someone else gave me the check, and then someone else brought the receipt. The initial server didn't pop up until I was getting up to walk out. So no manager interaction. No "we'll comp your coffee." Just a "Sorry you didn't like it." As I walked out. Ambiance is cool, but some table placement doesn't make sense. That needs to be addressed. Will I come back here? I don't know. Maybe. Maybe not. But I'm talking like 80 no /20 yea. So I guess we'll see.. So I'm giving this place 1 star. I'm sorry, but this is my opinion based on my 1st experience here. Maybe it'll be better. We'll see....

What an absolute gem of a restaurant…read more As first-time visitors, my wife and I had no idea what to expect when we drove by and decided to stop here for breakfast. First and foremost, the restaurant is very clean, well-maintained, and inviting, with colorful decor and salsa music softly playing in the background. We were also greeted immediately with a "welcome" by two or three female employees. At this point in our visit, I am really loving this place. The full menu is clearly posted behind the front counter, which makes ordering easy. The young lady who took our order was welcoming and friendly. My wife ordered green chilaquiles, and I ordered huevos à la Mexicana with a large horchata and a diet soda. After we placed our orders, we sat at an empty booth, and almost instantly our waitress approached our table with a basket of hot chips dipped in beans, which I had never tried. These chips were AMAZING, as they were fresh, tasty, and the beans made them the perfect way to start our breakfast. Our food arrived at our table in eleven minutes, and everything we ordered looked appealing. After a quick prayer for our food, we had an incredible, fun dining experience. Our dishes were flavorful, filling, and perfectly prepared. Every single item was truly DELICIOUS!! I am a huge fan of beans, and these beans were AMAZING!! The restaurant also offers guests unlimited soft drink refills, iced cold water, and an unlimited salsa bar. They also offer Taco Tuesday and karaoke night, among other weekly fun activities at this restaurant. One thing which really stood out to me was how many customers were dining inside, taking advantage of the outdoor seating area, and/or picking up to-Go orders. This is a very popular restaurant and with good reason. It is AWESOME!! What really impressed me, and I mentioned it to one of the employees, was that as each guest walked out of the restaurant, ALL employees could be heard saying, "Have a great day." The exact words I say to EVERYONE every single day of my life. The positive vibes at the restaurant were overflowing, and my wife and I loved it!! I truly wish to thank employees Amy, Frances, and Jess for making our first visit such a positive experience. Jorge came outside multiple times, clearly saw how many people were waiting, and even recorded the crowd on his phone three different times for social media. Knowing the capacity of the restaurant, he could have easily informed everyone that the remaining people in line would likely not get in. Instead, we waited over three hours with no communication. While we were waiting, I repeatedly watched people call Jorge. He would come outside, greet them, and bring them straight inside. I personally saw this happen at least six different times. When it was finally our turn to speak with the host, we were told there were no seats left, that we would have to stand, and that we wouldn't even be able to order food. I confronted Jorge about letting those other groups in ahead of everyone else. His response was that he knew them personally and that they were friends of the restaurant owners. That explanation only made the situation worse. My wife had just finished a 14-hour hospital shift, and we came here hoping to enjoy the game together. Instead, we spent three hours waiting only to be treated as though our time didn't matter. What was most shocking was Jorge's attitude. He literally told me, "They won't do anything to me if you post this. I'm friends with the owner." If that's the mindset of management, it's no surprise customers are treated this way. It truly felt like only friends and family received special treatment while everyone else was left waiting without honesty or respect. I have no issue waiting when things are busy, but I do expect transparency, fairness, and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience showed none of those qualities.
