I have to start by saying that I'm a New Orleans native so right around Mardi Gras I start craving boiled seafood, specifically crawfish. Finding good crawfish cooked the way we eat them in New Orleans (boiled in seasoned water, no sauces) is very challenging living outside of Louisiana, but I try. Came to Razzoo's for crawfish midday on a Saturday. There was plenty of outdoor seating as well as seats at the bar and dining room. I grabbed a seat the bar and ordered 1 pound of boiled crawfish. There's 3 different spice levels and I ordered the one with the most spice. I figured I would taste them before committing to multiple pounds. You can order a side of boiled potatoes and corn. I asked for potatoes only but the server told me that I had to take the corn as well. I also ordered a side of red beans (I know these items don't seem cohesive ) without rice. The server told me that it could not be served w out the rice. The crawfish came and they were a smash!!! Good size and well seasoned. I knew after eating about 3 of them that I would definitely need another pound. While waiting for the second pound, my red beans were served in a small bowl with rice on top. I had to scoop the rice off the top, since I didn't want to eat rice with my beans. I don't understand why it had to be served that way, nor did I ask. Anyway, the beans were delicious!!! They were pretty spicy too. Overall, this was a great experience and I'll certainly be back for crawfish. Rating 4/5 because of the inability to accommodate food preferences. read more

We've been coming here for years and have always enjoyed their food. I'm a little of a wimp with hot spices (not a total wimp - I like some heat). I will say that pretty much everything that should, has some cajun spice in it (as it should in a cajun restaurant). I ordered Abdouille sausage over red beans and rice. And I always ask them to make my rice "dirty" (i.e.: dirty rice). Everything was just right. Good cajun seasoning with the right amount of heat My wife ordered the chicken tender basket. Everything had the right amount of cajun seasoning She particularly liked the fries. Good service, atmosphere, and, most importantly, good food. This is one of our regular spots. Tis the season! Crawfish is finally here and not a week goes by without that cajun craving. We were in the area and decided to give Razzoo's a try. The staff was friendly and while the mask wearing by the wait staff wasn't perfect, it looks like they were seating every other booth and the tables were a good distance from one another. Our takeout order included the Tricky Fish and the crawfish etouffee. The crawfish etouffee was super good. There was a lot of crawfish and they were all plump. The base was flavorful, intense, and peppery without it being too heavy or salty. Might not be your authentic NOLA favorites, but the quality is great. The fish was also meaty and plump, definitely like everything else, the portion size gets a thumbs up. The buttered toast was delicious and while the broth that the green beans were in was strangely sweet, the green beans were perfectly tender. Everything in the to-go container was eaten up. Can you believe we've been meaning to try this place for practically a year? We first spotted it when we moved to the area and needed furniture at IKEA... spotted the neon lighting across the parking lot and wanted to GO! Well, we finally were in the area again around dinnertime and stopped in. It was a Tuesday evening so it wasn't too crowded and we were seated right away toward the back where the bar is located. I love the neat decor inside, from the rainbow colored bottles in front to the menagerie of instruments and objects on the ceiling of the main room to all the photos on the walls, there's plenty to look at while you're there. Our server was very friendly and would actually squat down to be at eye-level with us while we conversed. He was patient and came back when we couldn't make up our minds which meal to order-- they all looked so good! I eventually settled on the combo platter with fried shrimp, catfish, and crawfish-- it was not the wrong decision. It was a ton of food and plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day, haha. I also got one of the frozen margaritas, which was discounted to $5 because it was Tuesday. It was big and fairly potent for the kind of drink that it was! Deliciously tasty (I requested sugar on the rim instead of salt). This place has almost entirely seafood offerings (my partner who claims to not like seafood, got a cheeseburger, rofl). Reasonable pricing all around. We weren't rushed to leave while I nursed the rest of my alcoholic beverage. The speed of service in the establishment was good (at least on a Tuesday night). I guess I've been out of seeking cajun food as I have my go-to joints. Yes, Pappadeaux is on that list; yes a chain restaurant but normally knocks it out of the park. Local favorites include South Austin's Evangeline Cafe and Cypress Grill. Couple of yearly visits to Shoal Creek Saloon too. I picked Razzoo's for a car club meet up because of the location (most of my member base is north) and patio dining because of covid. Friends in the club immediately were excited to dine there. Wondered to myself could it be a viable player in the cajun scene in Texas? While I wasn't blown all the way to NOLA, I found every bite to aggressively seasoned and pleasantly surprised. Nice staff too from greeting to expeditors from the kitchen who delivered to three tables. Patio dining was nice and comfy with the heaters going. We spaced over three tables. Here's what I tasted. Rat toes were an excellent start. Shrimp and Crab stuffed jalapenos; for those who are spicy sensitive the peppers are pickled versus raw. Didn't detect too many if any seeds. Commonly used ranch had cajun spices placed on top of the mixture to add more flavor. Grabbed some fried gator from another friend to keep the tasting going! Fondue was the only MEH dish because of a competitor. You get to choose one ingredient versus Pappadeaux's DELUXE OMG seafood Fondeaux. Shrimp, crawfish, mushrooms, spinach, wine, sin...totally wins this battle. Old 90's recipe even included blackened oysters served with a loaf of garlic bread. My Tricky Fish was a nice plate. Well prepared tilapia with a sultry crawfish etoufee. Decent dirty rice; plenty of lemon for a bit of extra acid. I also snuck around and sampled the skillet stuffed shrimp, fried catfish, boudin balls, and red beans and rice. Ya know, while I'm still hoping for a Pappas based chain in my county this was darn close. read more

I did not try the food; purchased it for a family member. My rating is purely about portion sizes. I ordered a catfish platter and it only came with 2 hush puppies... that seems pretty small. This place was a lot better than I expected. I had the queso fried catfish and it was what you could imagine- fried catfish covered in queso. I mean how could it not be awesome. My wife had a fried catfish plate at its what you'd expect. Very typical. My son had the kids cheeseburger and I got to have the last bite. I was actually surprised that the burger was tasty. It didn't taste frozen and had a good taste. It might have been a frozen patty but if it was it was not obvious. Waitress was nice. Service was a tad slow. It's worth a visit if you are in the area.
