Hands down, the worst meal served at a restaurant. Got the mango Mahi...and there was not a bit of mango, like at all. It was a microwaved slab of fish on a plate with cold rice and microwaved veggies. The veggies and rice had NO seasoning at all no pepper, salt, garlic, etc. Not only that, they didn't even have s/p shakers on the table! The gin and tonics had no alcohol in them. I have never sent a thing back in my life, and I ended up going to the bar to ask. Bartender was rude, and assured me she actually poured. Either the alcohol is being obscenely diluted with water, or this young lady just gave us tonics. My daughter's mock tail was so disgusting, no one at the table could drink it. She ordered peach cobbler and there was a single peach under mounds of bisquick THe server was bored at best, and brought a side of a few mango squares, wedges of tomato and a few strips of onion when I noted the mango tango fish is supposed to have mango. This was the most expensive, disappointing birthday meal ever made. The meals aside from anything fried were 100 percent microwaved. It was comical after a bit given a Cajun place didn't even pepper or salt the food. We made the best of it, given it was a birthday dinner, but I will never return. read more

I eat at Razzoo's often. Not because they have great cajun food, but because they are the only place in the area with decent food and I love the rat toes appetizer. I love cajun food and I definitely can't say that the food is the best, but it's pretty okay... it's does the job enough for me to keep coming back. On my most recent visit to Razzoo's, I ordered my food to go and I almost always order the same thing (stuffed fish). This time the food tasted a little burnt on my first bite. So I thought it was just that one bite. I took another bite and it was awful so I lifted the fish and the entire stuffing was burnt. I honestly couldn't believe they would think it was acceptable to give someone two meals that were burnt the way they were. We ordered two meals of the stuffed fish and they weren't a little burnt... they were both black and hard (see pictures). I did call to complain and the manager corrected the issue. This place really deserves 2.5 stars overall, but the rat toes gives it a little boost to the 3. Will I come back to Razzoo's? Yes. Is it the best cajun food? No. read more

We are retired and frequently enjoy the Happy hour here. We don't eat or drink much anymore and enjoy low key venues. Their appetizers have always been consistently great and I really like their new improved frozen hurricane hell drink. Above and beyond the food , we really like the cool vibe during the early afternoon free of loud people and kids. For quite some time we've highly appreciated Michael the bartender. He's always consistently amazing at serving us and just an awesome dude. With that said there always seems to be someone everywhere you go that doesn't quite seem to have the customers in mind when they are being a little loud about personal things. Suddenly things get better and the yakkin goes away until you leave and hear it again going to the car. The music and level is great in the bar and we will keep going because of great people like Micheal and those amazing appetizers. When partaking in the Cajun experience it's important to remember, Laissez les bons temps rouler (let the good times roll!) Unfortunately, here in Texas it's somewhat difficult to find many Cajun restaurants, much less those who do it with style and authenticity. Enter in dramatic fashion Razzoo's Cajun Café located in a simi-posh area and easy to access area of Round Rock. I simply love the outside look as it sets the tone with loud and goofy signs. Sorry kiddos, I'm a sucker for curb appeal in this day of boring restaurant facades, case in point remember McDs from 40 yrs ago compare to now, no fun (if you're too young, google pics!) Walking in the restaurant the hostesses are quick to seat the customers but be careful because your eyes are busy taking in all the themed décor; cast nets, music instruments, stuffed game indigenous to 'Nolins and on and on. It's a bit cliché but it fits for the shack in the swamp vibe. Don't worry if you're favorite sport is being played as TVs are strategically placed everywhere. The drinks here are creative, fun and can be powerful. The "swomp thang" is a multi-layered and colorful drink that balanced out tart with a slight sweetness; but beware the alcohol is like a bayou gater, will sneak up and bite ye. I highly suggest this cocktail. The Gator punch also was a favorite as several alcohols play in unison to make the worst of days pass by as if you didn't have a care in the world. As I'm from the "low country" in Charleston SC, both port cities & surrounding areas have the same mentality, drink until you smile, by then you're so hungry you'll eat anything. Perhaps that's where "sucking the head" of a crawfish came from. I like to create my own backstory as if that craziness was founded on a drunk dare, but I digress. Now it's time for the saints to come matching in with the grub. Be careful with Cajun food as it can be spicy. First up were the bacon wrapped shrimp w/ jalapeno and fries. I do profess, I'm not huge on bacon but dear God these little guys are well balanced; the slight chew of shrimp, crispy & fattiness of bacon and hint of heat from the jap. My only complaint is the shrimp are small with like 6 total. The boudin balls are almost perfect as well. Boudin are Cajun pork sausage stuffed with seasoning and rice. These balls are meaty with enough heat to excite the taste buds but not so far to require milk to kill the heat. You get a lot for your order however be warned they are filling and the sauce has an elevated heat level. As for dinner, the blackened chicken on top of the chopped house salad is very good. Lots of lettuce, veggies, crispy bacon, tomato and cucumbers offer enough foliage to "be healthy" while the blackened chicken was moist but not too hot. Pro tip - when ordering make sure you ask how spicy the blackening season is as it can be hot enough to light up the neighborhood. The final menu item was the crawfish etouffee blowing me of the trawler (shrimp boat). Since I'm a former chef I pay attention to the details and the roux they made (thickening agent of flour & butter or fat) was outstanding. The roux was cooked for a long time which means it gains a lot of rich, complex flavor. They also used a seafood stock which creates that seafood note in the mouth. The rice was perfectly cooked, each kernel separated not gummy. The crawfish were plentiful albeit a bit small. The spice was spot on and I was extremely impressed with their version. Do yourself a favor and get this dish, just do it. I'm glad to see there's a great Cajun restaurant in Round Rock. Not only is Razzoos fun but the drinks have some soul that will cast a voodoo curse on your bad day and let's not forget the food is spot on and authentic. Having this kind of diversity in culinary options is great to break up eating the same fair day in and day out. The fellow patrons here are laid back from all walks of life just wanting to enjoy some great grub. The best part of Razzoos is your shirt can stay on if you get beads on your drink. I'll be back one day to try some other items like Gumbo, Poo Boys, gator and whatever else I can throw in my mouth. Bon Appetite! read more

I meant to leave this review last week and just remembered. We came in with a very large party last Thursday, 5.22, about 19 people if I can recall. Priscella was our waitress and she was hands down amazing! Me and a friend of would frequent there at least once a week but stopped going because of a horrible experience we had with the Manager. I can't remember his name but I do remember he wore glasses and we would see him almost every time we went. I stopped going and refused to go back because of that previous encounter but with my family in town, that's where they wanted to go. Little does she know, Priscella definitely changed my mind about returning in the future with her exceptional customer service.
